Norah O'Donnell, Mika Brzezinski, Pat Buchanan and Carl Bernstein weigh in on Palin's final speech as Governor.

Norah O'Donnell: "She has a tight circle of advisers consisting of me, myself, and I".

Did you hear how exasperated this group of commentators were about her anger and lack of substance? Hah! Welcome to our world!

Well except for Buchanan who seems to be headed toward honorary Palinista status.

Maybe he will be the next one in line to be Ivy Frye's boyfriend. Oops, did I type that out loud?

Just say it Gryphen! 30-something Palin babysitter/shopper Ivy Frye was dating 65-yer-old AP writer Steve Quinn. When the AP found out they shipped his butt out of Alaska.

  2. Excuse me IF I SCREAM BUT DID YOU HEAR THE COMMENT "iT'S TIME FOR THE PRESS TO TELL THE TRUTH"?

I hope we can make a push to get the press to tell the truth. Give us some marching orders Gryphen.

Her seething anger is mystifying to me. She has been able to navigate political waters for years...

Everything else aligns (her history of quitting, etc.) except the anger.

    Something's going on.

I do think she was hit hard by someone or something way above all of our chatter and radar forcing her to make this costly and unadvised decision. It doesn't seem to be what she wants to do. It has an odd quality to it. It's very forced and there is much bitterness.

The First Dude flagrantly wore a fleece to the swearing in ceremony in a tiny little rebellion. They are not happy campers about this resignation and I can't quite put my finger on it.

I would guess it has something to do with some sort of deal with the McCain people. Perhaps they agreed to not ruin her with her campaign behavior if she agreed to step off. I just don't know; I have no idea.

We don't know anything about what's really going on; that's for certain.

She is sputtering absolute gibberish like a woman undone, and her husband looks very odd as though the wind has come out of his sail. His mojo is gone. There's something up.

  4. I agree with anon 12:27...to a point. No one resigns unless there is some hidden scandal that is worse than drugs, hookers, and marital infidelity. Ted Stevens had to be NARROWLY voted out of office, and you cannot pry Vitter, Ensign, and Sanford out of their seats with some KY and a crowbar. They are not quitters...gross, oversexed, hypocritical perverts, yes. But quitters, no. So I do not think she would have given up her queen of Alaska title unless she had to. Money is not the reason. Either is the lame excuse of protecting her kids...she threw them under the bus one too many times for that one to stick.

Sarah has been let off the hook by the national media. They know there's another story there, yet refuse to do it. Pat Buchanan gives Sarah way to much credit...she's just not that smart to map out a plan. There are no candidates who will want to be associated with a quitter...her appeal is only to the rabid right fundie base who will support her even if she was caught snorting lines of coke on video ala Marion Barry.

  5. 1st question: Why is Pat Buchanan still on TV?
    ---
    Re: Palin's anger
Palin's angry because she was forced to abdicate her throne - I mean quit her job.

There is no sensible reason why a person like Palin who craves attention and power to survive would walk away willingly from the prominent, visible position of power she enjoyed as governor.

For those who are now saying she can now be a 'kingmaker' or a behind the scenes "influencer" or a money-raiser for other candidates, I don't think they really know Sarah Palin very well at all do they? Since when has Sarah Palin worked hard at anything that wasn't about benefiting Sarah Palin personally?

We may never know the real reason Sarah Palin quit her job because maybe quitting her job was a condition on keeping the reason unknown. But there is nothing anyone has said yet, most noticeably Sarah Palin herself, that can convince me that quitting her job was something she really wanted to do. Therefore I believe that explains why she has become a very angry woman.

I agree there is something, maybe more than one something that we don't know about, which caused her to resign. But I don't think she is going to miss being governor one bit. It is way too much work and for so little money after all. You could tell in each press conference (not that there were that many) the level of her frustration just escalated when she had to answer a question about one of her many bad decisions as governor (think stimulus). She just does not do well unless she is in front of an audience that is primed to receive "the message" with clapping of hands and shouts of adulation. And I do think if she can make tons of money and have her Palinbots fawn all over her, that will suit her just fine. It's going to be interesting to watch the next few months. I think she can make big money on the speakers circuit for a while, I just don't know how long she can milk that. We'll see.

It was nice to see some protesters in Fairbanks. Anchorage sure can blog about Palin but where were the bloggers yelling out quitter during her speach here or at least somethin. She even stood in line and passed out food and shook hands acting like nothing ever happened. Shannon Moore, Gyphen and others where were you? You are on MSNBC blasting her but what a perfect chance for you to get on film acutally confronting her in the food line. I have lost all hope for the dems.

    OUR NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS OVER!

These newscasters are sick of Palin, too. EVERYONE has Palin fatigue except the Manson "family"...oops, Team Sarah and "Alaska Fund" donors.

  9. I agree she didn't like the 'work' of being governor but that never really stood in her way of doing what she wanted to do so I still contend her 'resignation' was forced not voluntary.

I seriously think SP's most secret heart's desire is to be a "delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlet".

  10. She was forced to quit for reasons not yet known and she spun it into something positive, for her and her career. Case closed.

That woman claws onto a position of power like a cat chasin' a squirrel up a tree. Unless you grab that cat and pull it off the tree forcefully it will continue on it's hunt for the squirrel. It NEVER gives up, even if it falls from the tree it will get back up there and try again. Hell, even when you pull the cat down it's right back up the tree again when your back is turned. (that's SP now, going back up perhaps another tree, so let's not turn our backs...bloggers jobs not yet done, by a long shot)

Okay, weird analogy, but hey, I spend too much of my time off at my laptop gazing out at my cats chasing my well fed squirrels up trees...I am the PetMom for a reason :-)

perhaps there is something else going on. I tend to think so, because the woman is a total liar and therefore probably has many skeletons in the closet.

but maybe she's just pissy because she actually expected the majority of people to be sympathetic to her quitting, to sing her praises and talk about what a great thing she was doing. she expected people to stand by her side and defend poor sarah from the predators, and that just didn't happen. her pissyness might be something as simple as that. she was REJECTED when she expected to be embraced!

I don't know where my reply to one of todays posts went, but here goes a recollection of it:

People have commented on her missing wedding ring, and I commented on Toad's dark glasses - even when there is no sunshine visible...
So, my comment was (RUMOR ALERT!!!) That her bony fist would make a very good shiner on some-ones eyes - and those dark glasses would be a good way to conceal that shiner...

Also, too: WHERE WERE BRISTOL AND/OR WILLOW and Trigg???

  13. Bienvenidos de Costa Rica! Fortunately, my hostess has a laptop; she just turned on CNN, and there was $arah. I didn't catch her name, but an African-American woman appeared on camera representing the "Draft Sarah 2012 Committee."

At the end of dinner last night, I said, "Sarah Palin is unable to articulate a coherent narrative--" before I was cut out by the outcries by two seventy-something semi-retired expat Americans. "How could you say that about $arah?!?"

"Certainly she can deliver a speech, if Matt Scully writes it for her, but--"

"She's HOT!" interrupted the other, as though that were that. And they haven't stopped needling me since. One asked me today, "Why is it that you liberals are so... mean-spirited?"

I replied that people typically can say that those with whom they don't agree are "mean-spirited," but oh-ho-ho no, it's only us. They denied, among other things, that Rush Limbaugh had ever called 13-year-old Chelsea
Clinton "the White House dog," even when I said I'd seen the video. They also are convinced that when Barack Obama said, during the campaign, that families were off-limits, that he was referring only to his own family. I didn't make any reference to the horrendous stuff circulated about him and Michelle and the girls, replying mildly that that was his reponse to what he thought about Bristol's pregnancy. "What has he ever said at all about $arah Palin?" I asked.

They couldn't think of anything, which totally pissed them off. So there we are: We fly thousands of miles to vacation, and who comes up but... HER.

  14. My youngest son A dyed in the wool conservative called me to say, Dad you were right Sarah Palin is a fruitcake!! That made my year. And its all you Alaska bloggers that get the credit! You gave me the ammunition to help convince him.Sarah did the rest with her pass the reins speech.

Mrs TB what are you doing with those people!! If anyone says the like her I have nothing to do with them. You must have to be there!!! LOL

Poor Sarah..she hates everyone. I wish she would stop being the victim. As a woman, she embarrases me and is not representative of anything I believe in.

  16. I know one thing for sure -- Nora O'Donnell is pretty p.o.'d.

Anonymous said @ 2:19 PM...but maybe she's just pissy because she actually expected the majority of people to be sympathetic to her quitting, to sing her praises and talk about what a great thing she was doing. she expected people to stand by her side and defend poor sarah from the predators, and that just didn't happen....

She probably got REALLY pissy when Rebecca Mansour and Tim Lindell flew up to Alaska for a close encounter of the third kind, and they asked her, "Our dear Sarah, what do we do now? We need to know what your plans are. Why did you quit? We know what you said at the lakeside, but we know there's something else, what is it? You can tell us...."

She doesn't like to be questioned, even by her Palinistas. Especially when it's about something she doesn't want ANYONE to know about.

Does anyone know about Kristan Cole and Hardball (MSNBC)?

Why would Kristan Cole twit "They’re not interested in talking about the Guv’s next moves."
As Meg, Todd and Heath pappy are empathic about there are no plans. Plans would include moves, yes? There are no plans, there are moves? She is moving to NY or Tx? Why would Hardball cancel a scoop? Do they think she is that irrelevant already?

Is that a fake KC twitter? If that is real a KC tweet, what is the story about a Hardball cancel?

  18. They are trying so hard, the most base level of the GOP that is, to try and justify the irrational behavior that is Palin's modus operandi.

Ya gotta give 'em credit, they are spinning so fast that they might just drill themselves down into the middle of the earth never to be seen again.

If I look at it from their perspective, the SP supporters perspective that is, I'm not sure what I would do if one of my personal heroes just plum lost their mind. Maybe I'd get all spinny and crazy and second guess my hero's intentions. Better yet, me being who I am, would probably just GROW A PAIR and call it the way I see it (as a thinking person) and move on to another hero because THIS ONE IS BROKEN!

    Just sayin'

  21. You want to read something funny in their usual deluded way, just skim over the headlines and paragraphs of the last day or so over at See4Pee.

The farewell address: "What An American President Should Sound Like"...
"Palin could pull off a Reagan"...
Brit Hume: "Palin doesn't need to be a Governor to run for national office"...
"With Act II Unwritten, Palin Can Define Her Role."

    ------------------------

On that last topic: Sarah Palin has the attention span of a hummingbird, so it'd be interesting to see how many roles the Diva tries out before she settles on whether she's a Player or not.

  22. Anon @ 3:58 PM, Mansour and Lindell were up in Alaska the Monday after Palin's quitting speech the previous Friday (July 3rd thru 6th).

Mansour was on the Burke radio show that Monday afternoon. Palin was fishing that weekend, remember, and had the 3-network round robin interview on Monday?

"TommyReport, July 6, 2009 5:49 PM: Ram is meeting with Palin"

(upinak is a C4Per from AK) upinak, July 6, 2009 6:17 PM: RAM check the emails. We have "ideas and plans

could the secret reason for her quitting have anything to do with that very mysterious anon poster from several sites, including Bob Lynn's? He seemed pretty intense- Also, I think upinak is a leading character in this; maybe Meg?

Kajo, I think it is hysterical (and scary) that they think Palin sounds like a president or Reagan!!! She sounds like a bitter angry hag who has a huge chop on her shoulder!! Presidential???? Are those C 4 pee people drinkers???Or just emotionally disturbed/delusional?

Anyone know the Twits new Twitter name.

  25. I tend to agree that there is some reason she quit that no one knows publicly.
Look at her record! How could there NOT be???

Someone caught her doing something - maybe - and threatened to "out" her if she didn't quit?

NO clue but am eternally glad that she is gone. And it takes away the Gov pulpit that she's been blasting everyone with.

She is now officially NOTHING relevant (she never was). She is a private citizen - who gives a dam* what she thinks, wants or says?

She's obviously ravingly jealousy of delicate little women isn't she? That was LEFT FIELD even for her.

Ms. TB: Where in CR are you???

Kajo ... You are a dear to answer my question. I had no idea about Mansour and Lindell in bed with her, so to speak. I'm not a regular visitor at C4P. I had no idea they were that close. What is the C4P role now? How can they pass her off as a private person when she is still running for office, accepting monies or taking on the king making position? Everything they do now is helping her to implode. I follow one of Mansour's brothers at times. I thought she would be more on top of her game. She certainly has the connections. What went wrong?
