A few posts ago, some readers remarked that Sarah and Todd were not wearing wedding rings during the farewell picnics. My guess is that there was going to be alot of hand squeezing and hand shaking in three picnics worth of adoring fans, and having a ring on the finger starts to hurt tightly squeezed hands.
ReplyDeleteOther politicians also suffered from hand-grip-strain and developed a kind of wrist grab to avoid getting their hands squeezed too much. My daughter's favorite moment of the 2008 campaign was captured after some speeches by McCain and Palin. As soon as they thought they were away from cameras, they quickly Purell'ed their hands, Cindy too, as if to be saying, "Eeeeew! I touched their hands!"
So, I would like to find fault with no ring, but I think that it was self preservation during the farewell tour. We have to watch for future photo ops to see if the rings come back, or we will have to reopen the gossip again.
Yes I caught her - on KeithO's show with Lawrence O'Donnell. She was (as usual) quite amazing in making some direct hits.

Whoa, on the Daily Show Bill Kristol presented the idea of a Sarah Palin - Liz Cheney ticket in 2012. I can't for a minute imagine that Liz Cheney would take second fiddle to $P. whazz-er-name McCain wouldn't either!!

ReplyDeleteOf course, "Turkey-gate" would have never existed, had she just gone back to work and tried to educate herself, but noooo... she wanted to be in the spotlight again, and be all "presidential". EPIC FAIL.
Another clip not referenced, but one of my "favorites" is her tap-dancing through her return from another "I'm a star" speeches in the Lower 48 to the defeat of Wayne Ross. It's SP at her pouting, oily best as she wriggles out of those mean old "media" reporter's questions.
