Flew over McGrath area burn, met idolized smokejumpers (for bravery, strength, love of outdoors!) I appreciate their work in volatile areas
Okay I know that some have accused me of picking on Governor Sarah needlessly, but please, what in the hell does she mean by "idolized smokejumpers"?
Does that mean SHE idolizes them? Or that WE should idolize them? Or that these are "idolized" smokejumpers who are infinitely better than the "regular" smokejumpers? Or does she just not understand what the word "idolize" actually means?
It's the last one isn't it?
And once again, not to be nitpicky, but how does their "love of outdoors" make them more "idolized"?
I love the outdoors. Somebody needs to idolize me dammit!
Then there was this:
Today, try this: "Act in accordance to your conscience -risk- by pursuing larger vision in opposition to popular, powerful pressure"-unknown
WTF? Yeah I am always giving in to "popular, powerful pressure". What can I say? It is both "popular" AND "powerful"! And by the way if our Governor even had a "conscience" she might actually have been able to continue on as our Governor. I am just saying.
(The title links to Sarah Palin's Twitter page and it is great! If you are feeling stupid just go and visit, and suddenly you start to feel brilliant by comparison. It is better than drugs I promise!)
How can she be so far away and still twit. No cell phone coverage. Blackberry coverage?
ReplyDeleteHow does she get her news? Who is paying for all this?
Have you seen Van Flien's interview on Greta? This guy is an idiot. I am a practicing attorney and I think he is an embarassment. He seems as lost and arrogant as she is.
ReplyDeleteOh.My.God. ...
ReplyDeleteGood question, 4:12... I guess she has satelite connections?
I read a bit farther down in her twit, and I found this gem: "Kotz trip..." In German, "kotzen" means to violently throw up - so, she had a barfing trip???
Please, please please idolized smoke jumpers. Offer her the opportunity to jump from a plane and fight fires. Only, please make certain that her parachute is non-functioning.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
"Thou shat NOT commit idolatry..."
ReplyDeleteSeems I read that somewhere... wish I could remember.

Set your TiVo for David Letterman tonight. More Sarah Palin jokes. Quitting doesn't make it go away.
ReplyDeleteIMNHO, she is in la-la land. Her adoring base, aka Sarasites, continue to feed her self-image of a glorious savior for our nation.
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to be her mirror when she finally wakes up one day and can see clearly.
"Pursuing larger vision" is Gov. Palin trying to elevate "I quit" to something noble. It will only work with the deluded base.
ReplyDeleteThe twit storm we are seeing today makes me feel that Gov. Palin has overcome her panic of last Friday. In her mind, whatever she was promised she'd get for quitting is worth losing both the governship and the shot at the presidency. It must be one heck of a secret. As her cockiness returns, the odds of exposure are getting better and better. She has proferred one improbable tale too many and MSM is finally thinking bringing her down will make them money. Palin will be juggling faster and faster in the next few weeks, hopefully to no avail.
Another one of Sarah's twitters involved the quote "You have to sacrifice to win" That's my philosopy is 6 words George Allen. I tried to google the phrase to see if the famous Macacca guy from Virginia really said that and up came an interesting article from today's on line NY magazine.
ReplyDeleteThey couldn't find any attribution for that phrase. However, when they changed the numeral 6 to the word six in Google, up came the only literary reference for the quote: Book of Knowledge in a Nutshell on Success. So, it looks as if Sarah was doing some deep reading on the fishing trip or on one of her plane ride. Wonder if that other ding-a-ling quote comes from the same book. My guess is that she has several editions of Knowledge in a Nutshell, providing the proper quote for every occassion.
By the way, when you try to find anyone responsible for that quote, Google only links you back to Sarah's twitter and the various media outlets that quote it without looking it up. Oh, yes, one other reported found the same information: The Book of Knowledge. I think that if someone buys the book, they'll find some of Sarah's other profound quotes. At least she gave credit to George Allen. We just don't know if it's the Macacca George Allen or some other wise thinker.
Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteWe do idolize you...
She is going to have to give up that AKGovSarah twitter handle isn't she? We should register as many variations possible till there's none left.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she meant "iconic" smoke jumpers?
ReplyDeleteBook of KNowledge maybe where she got the plagiarized speech! Cliff Notes for Pitbulls.
ReplyDeleteLOL! "slaying salmon", "idolized firejumpers" and what about "volatile areas"? The last one is the one that cracked me up the most.
ReplyDeleteIs she projecting much? Her language and speech patterns completely baffle me.
Would that mean 'Inside Idolized Smokejumpers' would also be known as 'Firemen'? Seems she doesn't care about those poor souls as she's paying no attention to them!
ReplyDeleteahhhh she has surely met her match with the "Idolized Bloggers"....omg...laughing my ass off...she is too stupid to be in the urban dictionary....maybe pulling a Palin means saying something STUPID...
ReplyDeletethe thing about her on twitter...well there are smart people on twitter..and then yes,....there are TWITS....
