Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

I tried to embed this wonderful segment of New Rules yesterday and HBO had a fit. But now I have it.
I have to give a hat tip to Annette over at Just my Little Piece of the World which is where I finally found this.
Do yourself a favor and watch it, because it will definitely make your morning.

On the point of "What doesn'get broad distribution due to MSM corporate considerations", I submit two clips that should be considered. For fulldisclousure,I made these same suggestion to HuffPo and the idea went nowhere.
ReplyDeleteFirst) On the Friday broadcast of "Morning Meeeting" with Dylan Ratigan on MSNBC, Ratigan evicerated this spokesman, Eric Odom, from the "American Liberation Alliance" concerning the town hall disruptions, and no one picked it up.
Instead they've run the piece about Jonathan Capehart's mothers ire about her son being made tom look foolish when caught eating a bagel on camera. Important stuff,no doubt...NOT!!
(Maybe you guys can gain access
to this, I couldn't)
Second) On Friday's "Rachel Maddow Show" there was another excellent interview with former Evangelical proponent, Frank Schaeffer (Crazy for God) which again talked, quite forcefully, against the machinations of these town hall rabble rousers. This needs to be promoted also.
(The piece is "Nazism is not a Metaphor",
on Maddows site.)
Look and decide for yourself. Maybe you can put them up.
ha! that was good. thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeletebill maher knows what time it is.
I have to say that I am skeptical that 15% of Americans think the sun goes around the earth, and that half don't know who we fought for independence.
ReplyDeleteAs an answer to "Onething's" skepticism.
ReplyDeleteI watched a segment of Jay Leno's "Jay Walking", in which he asked a question of what looked to be a well spoken, well appointed, bright couple, that absolutely gobsmaked me.
The question asked was, "During which war was the transition made from propellar driven to jet driven aircraft?" Now among the better informed, amongst us, a cogent argument might be made between the Korean War and World WarII. The full transition was obviously made during the Korean Conflict, however, therefore it was the correct answer. But this couples' answer could not have been more amazing.
Having been given one of those little motel desk bells with which to signal the point at which they had arrived at their answer, it was merely seconds after the question had been completed that they burst forth with their answer.......
"The Revolutionary War"
Now tell ME we have no problem.
Best line - we need study halls, not town halls.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, You are more than welcome.. and are welcome to anything I have anytime.. I share anything. Glad I found it to be able to share..I thought Bill was exceptional this week.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you how dumb some people can be. I was selected for jury duty, and 12 of us were seated in the jury box to listen to the judge describe what the lawsuit was about.
ReplyDeleteThere had been an auto accident 5 or 6 years before, and after numerous delays, it was finally coming to trial. One person was suing the other for medical expenses and damage to the car. At one point I turned to the woman next to me and made a wisecrack about the auto accident being so long ago. She was serious when she asked, "What auto accident?"
Everyone's worst nightmare is that woman on your jury when you want to collect damages. Worse yet, that woman could be a crazy state representative like Michelle Bachmann. Even worse than that, she could run for governor or vice president.
What do you expect from a country that has a political party that would nominate Sarah Palin to be second in line to run the country...and then vote for her.
ReplyDeleteA political party that would re-elect Michell Bachmann.
A political party that is buying what Orly Taitz is selling.
