Keith Olbermann lays the smackdown on Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, Governor Sanford, and Quittypants herself, Sarah Palin.

So by "great white hope" she meant "they have a bright future"? Wouldn't they be the "great bright hope" then?

Sorry lady, not buying the bullshit.

Unemployed Alaska blogger, now THAT is funny!

Hey Governor Sanford is totally stealing Palin's shtick with all that "acting like a victim" thing.

Maybe Van Flein needs to send him a letter.

BTW Christian Finnegan NAILS Sarah Palin's feelings about Alaska.

Well, now with Lynn Jenkins arrival on the "crazy, racist GOP fringe women's club" we have the new Three Stooges. Palin/Bachman/Jenkins.

I love how Keith shows how absolutely blatantly rascist her statement was.

    Go Three Stooges!!

Rep. Jenkins said, "Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope, I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington."

When referencing the popularity and effectiveness of a BLACK president, how could anyone hear her remarks about a "great WHITE hope" and conclude that it was about anything other than race?

What is so astounding is that she didn't think that it would be an issue. This is something like two or three dozen times that national, state, or local leaders or elected officials from within the Republican Party have engaged in racist comments or actions in the last year. Do I sense a pattern?

Why is everyone still obsessed with Sarah Palin? She's not even a player anymore. The rumor is that she was offered a lot of money to do her own talk show on Fox. (Like Huckabee) Any truth to that?

  4. Lazy $arah showing up every weekday at work? Nope, no chance. The airwaves are quite safe from her.

  6. Sarah palin, Alaska NOT BFF's
I still think it's telling that sister sarah did not make sister lynn's great white hope list.
They walk alike, they talk alike...... they kind of even dress alike.....
I seriously think you should start a petition demanding that sarah quit the Gov. title like she quit Alaska.
Anybody that resigns from the position for no good reason should not be allowed to use the title.

Sarah is too dumb to ever make it in radio or on tv.

The difference between Sarah and a pit bull... pit bulls are smart and don't quit

Reading QuitterPant's twitter and facebook posts are bad enough, but the thought of having to listen to her speak makes me nauseaous.

I suspect Jenkins didn't think her remark would ever be heard outside of that room of rapid Republicans who knew exactly what she meant (sort of like New Orleans's mayor Ray Nagin's "chocolate city" comment). She got caught, so she's casting herself as dumb and insensitive rather than blatantly racist, and continuing the charade that Republicans aren't really racist, the "libs" are just jumping on every little thing those good Christians say and twisting it to make it look that way.

I think Jenkins is dumb, but I don't know of many people who don't realize the reason for the coining of the phrase "great white hope". I think she thought she was safe in this red state that she represents. She wasn't smart enough to think a Democrat would be in the room and catch that remark on tape. She made it perfectly clear in a town hall in my town that she would never support a public option.

She made the comment that she didn't need the government to be her mama, she already has a mama. Her answer, vague as it was seemed to indicate that she was for a tax credit for health care. Sounds like something out of John McCain's playbook.

By the way she was a lousy state treasurer too, but we here in Kansas are stuck with the likes of her, Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback who is going to run for governor next year. Sigh.

Because Palin has done so much damage to so many people. Also, she is so vengeful, you have to stay on your toes if she has her sites on you. Just look at her campaign rallies. How she stirred up all that latent hatefulness. Palin isn't done yet, not by a long shot. When her plastic surgery scars are healed, she'll be back with a vengeance.

Seems to me the congresswoman was able to rise above Olbermann on this thing!

Something for Gryphen to think about too.

Or maybe it's just because we Canadians see things a little differently?

Obviously Piyush Jindal isn't in the running since he's Indian amd not exactly white.

  14. @anon..10:02...I, too am Canadian, but for the life of me, you have lost me. I don't have a clue what you are talking about. Jenkins remark sounded blatantly racist to me, and I heard about it long before I came to Gryphen's blog today. Can you clarify?
