It would be at least the fourth time in recent months that an anticipated Palin speech has fallen through after Palin and her camp disputed they had ever confirmed. That includes the brouhaha over if she'd speak at the annual congressional Republican fundraising dinner in Washington D.C. this summer.
Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said Wednesday, in response to inquiries from the Daily News about tonight's event, that "this is the first we have ever heard of a speech." She said Palin is out of state and won't be there.
Stapleton declined to provide details on where Palin is and what she is doing.
Alaska Family Council President Jim Minnerysaid it was news to him when a reporter told him that Stapleton was saying Palin had no knowledge of the speech, which his group has been promoting. He said organizers have been talking to Palin "contacts" for weeks about it.
"All we can do is take people at their word that we've worked with in the past. We've been working for several weeks on the event, promoting it very heavily. It would be a grave disappointment if she doesn't show up but the show will still go on," Minnery said.
He declined to say who the organizers had been speaking to. "I'd just prefer to keep it kind of anonymous right now, especially since you're hearing something that's opposite of what we've been hearing."
Look people, what part of "quitter" don't you understand?
Maybe one of her personalities got a better offer from someone else and it forgot to see what her other personalities had already lined up for speaking engagements.

I have a theory that the reason Palin balks at all of these conservative events is that the host organizations aren't willing to pay what Palin thinks she is worth merely to show up. I'm guessing that they agree in principle that she will attend, but when they actually start talking dinero, Palin's people toss wildly inflated figures that nobody will pay. She quit as Gov. to cash in. She is learning that her ship has already sailed. Aw, poor, poor Sarah. What ever shall she do?

ReplyDeleteSomeone over at Palingates joked about this story when it first came out, saying that Sarah's conditions for showing up are no reporters and no questions. Another poster remarked that someone always has a camera and/or recording device. This must have scared Sarah away.
ReplyDeleteShe has not, can not, and will not answer questions. She tries to control the situation by saying whatever she wants regardless of the questions asked. She gets boxed in by reality. And, even just the joke about questions might have scared her away.
Her behavior makes no sense at all. She has quit several high profile Republican party events and her high profile recent job as governor. There is something seriously wrong in her lack of ability to complete anything. The obvious cure will come when people stop inviting her-- pretty soon, I hope.
Loren Leman can't be too happy with egg on his face after sending out all those robocalls. Plus a private fundraiser at $500/couple during these economic times? OK, she's really annoying the local heavy-weights. She really isn't the brightest crayon in the box.

It takes 4-6 wks for a facelift to heal and sometimes months before the patient looks "perfect" due to swelling. There can always be complications too. If she is in a psychiatric facility her discharge is totally dependent on when her insurance runs out.

ReplyDeleteSomething is clearly not right here, in that not all of these groups can have screwed up in trying to schedule their headliner. But even if there WAS a screw up, any politician would know better than to deny any knowledge of the event. Instead, the better approach would be to take the blame (especially if the politician is blameless), and say that the Politico can't attend the event because they have swine flu (or something).
What this sounds like to me is that Private Citizen Palin promises to attend these events, and then gets nervous or has a panic attack--something comes up, like the marriage going south or the kids causing too much stress--and then Private Citizen Palin instructs Meg the hitter to get Sarah out of the obligation, no matter how.
My guess is that then Governor Palin was pushed past her Peter's Principle level of competence, and her self-confidence (and family) fell apart. She's now struggling with a resulting depression, thinking she can do these speaking engagements; but then when the event gets closer, she panics and invents some supposedly face saving way to cancel.
And the people saying she confirmed and now is uh-hem lying... are good moral souls!

ReplyDeleteIf, not directed to anyone real or imagined, someone with NPD also is bi-polar, and reaches a point of blithering idiocy requiring hospitalization, some serious drug administration might be required, with a whole raft of side-effects. A satisfactory drug regimen can take weeks to work out, and to become accustomed to, and *that's* with a *cooperative* patient. Even though the regimen works in a hospital setting, even a private yacht/villa/luxury hotel setting, the return to the outside world can mess with the meds and the healing mind, and the process may have to be started all over again. More tweaking and try this or that and come back in a week. That sort of thing. If the person works the program, because the person has been totally miserable before and doesn't want to be that miserable ever again, the odds are good. *But* it's possible the person will not be the same as before, once the highs and lows have moderated. The mania that keeps one revved up for the crowds is as alluring as any drug-high going. Stay on the meds and the program and live live on a more steady, albeit duller (brain fog's a common side-effect), level. Or toss the pills overboard and go for the high. What to do? Not that I have any personal knowledge of such a situation or process, you unnerstand.

Wow! This is a switch. Last night, out of the first 48 comments so far on the ADN article posted above, ALL are negative about Sarah. Where are all her beloved sycophants? Sarah supporters are trying to blame everyone else for this yet again. They, like her, are willing to place the blame for this anywhere but on her incompetence and ineptness.
ReplyDeletePalin and her supporters don't complain about her being touted as a guest speaker, because it gives her attention, but when the inevitable note arrives to the masses that Palin will not be attending, the complaints start rolling in how she "never confirmed", and how people are just using her to garner support and attention for their particular events because of the draw her name adds.
The problem is that Palin now has a certifiable record of not stopping these rumors dead in their tracks, but allowing them to continue on, using her name and then claiming no knowledge or confirmation on their part for the event/speaking engagement etc...
She has proven time and again that she is not committed to anything, and is willing to wait until the last minute to denounce her appearance.
This latest fiasco has her supporters blaming the event organisers/hosts, the media for reporting this, a perhaps "current or former" member of her staff who is out to get her, a non member of her staff who is pretending to be within her clique and acting on her behalf without authorization...the list will no doubt continue on from the supporters who will find ways to blame everyone and anyone except for Sarah Palin.

I am, however, alarmed that the disappearance of a highly visible politician has not raised concerns. While we all speculate and chuckle, could it be possible that the former Governor is so unwell, and is confined against her will? If so, that might be just as wrong as what the wingnuts espouse. Has any law enforcement agency looked into her whereabouts? Have any credible sources confirmed that she is voluntarily in an undisclosed location?
ReplyDeleteThere's a "Sarah Pallin" on Facebook claiming that the RNC is holding her, the real Sarah Palin, captive while they control her "official" website. She insists that Facebook wouldn't let her set an account up with the correct spelling, hence the two "ll"s.

Note, after this article was posted Palin's scheduler resigned her position. I've also read(can't remember where) that Palin was notorious for waiting to the day of to decide what she is going to do that day.
This is so freaking funny that it's becoming fun. We could make a TON of money making book on whether or not Palin will show up for some event she's agreed to attend.

We discovered already quite a while ago that Bristol Palin was a member of the audience during the MTV-show "TRL", which was filmed and broadcast on 8th October 2007, when Jennifer Lopez was the guest in this show - it was during her trip to New York, when Sarah took Bristol with her (originally on the taxpayers expense, maybe that's one of the trips where Sarah has paid the money back, I am not sure).

Look at the pictures of Bristol at Palingates in the comments section and a video. She looks definitely pregnant and it was in 2007. Hmmmm Tripp was supposedly born around Dec 2008 so how could Bristol have been pregnant in 2007?? Oh that other baby! Verrrry interesting and how sad that her mother did not do more to help her. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt it, she is a false profit and prophet. Would any one know of a list for Sarah Palin's future speaking engagements? I work at an exclusive retirement community. It is filled with Republicans who send money to charity. They think all Christian churches are to be trusted. They do not all like Sarah Palin. I would like to be able to warn them if she is involved with a group. If they cover for her that only makes them like her.

It's worth to look again also on the comparison between June 10, 2007 and September 14, 2007 - the change in Bristol Palin's body size (who used to be a very active, sporty girl!) is more than obvious in these pictures. And I am sure that it WASN'T COOKIES AND ICE CREAM.

ReplyDeleteThis is a joke, right? The only thing that concerns me is that this dipstick will eventually return.
First of all, Palin is no longer a highly visible politician. She is a visible-when-it-suits-her-agenda EX-governor who seems to be a few bricks short of a load these days. Big difference. Highly visible wingnut? Yes. Highly visible politician, not by a long shot.
Second, no one but a person who has a suicide wish would kidnap Sarah and keep her anywhere. The screeching, preening about her children, whining and complaining, and inane ranting and raving about "mama bears protecting their cubs!" would make any kidnapper kill themselves within 48 hours of her capture.
