(Pic courtesy of a sneaky Twitter user. Thanks secret Twitter ninja! Update: Picture had been removed from Twitter account, but I saved it. I am not new at this you know. Nice try Sarah-bots!)
Okay so FINALLY Sarah showed up to someplace that she had promised to show up at.
Will wonders never cease?
Here is all that has been reported so far:
Palin, 45, began her speech to a full house at the main ballroom of Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt hotel shortly after 12:30 p.m. local time.
Exciting isn't it?
(You can read the full article by clicking the title, but I warn you I chose the most informative portion. But if more leaks out you can bet I will post it.)
what is she wearing?
ReplyDeleteShe only showed up because she wanted the money, since she hasn't brought home a paycheck in awhile, and then of course she probably wants people to think that this somehow gives her some foreign relations credentials. I just hope she didn't drag poor little Piper along like usual.
ReplyDeleteTodd lives on the other side of town now
ReplyDeletefacelift
ReplyDeleteWow-The Twitpic already disappeared? It has been removed already? What is someone afraid we will see?
ReplyDeleteWhy has the picture been removed already?
ReplyDeleteGryphen,
ReplyDeleteAs per this story about the China trip,
Lori in los Angeles on the Mudflats Open Thread has a Twitter live-blog from the speech.Post # 139. Check some of the comments. She says Todd is now ' slightly Asian '... she is trying to ' relate ' to them I guess. Some pretty stupid stuff.Wait till the whole speech gets leaked.
I hope someone got a screen shot of the picture because they have already removed it.
ReplyDeleteThe picture is still on the link. She spoke for 80 minutes, God that must have been painful for the audience. She took only pre-approved questions, well that is a surprise.
ReplyDelete"It closed the speech to the press because she indicated she would say different things if reporters were present, Agence- France Presse reported Sept. 21, citing Jonathan Slone, CLSA’s chief executive officer."
I thought you might appreciate Cameron Sinclair's post/tweets about Palin's speech in Hong Kong -- thank you, Mr. Sinclair (and Gryph) for keeping us informed! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cameron-sinclair/following-palin_b_295686.html
ReplyDeleteSomeone took the photo away so it doesn't load...
ReplyDeleteThe photo has been deleted. The web site twitpic says, "The photo you are looking for doesn't exist anymore." Wonder what the story is behind that.
ReplyDeleteSarah made more money for a 30 minute talk than her annual salary as governor... no surprise she showed up.
ReplyDeleteDid Fred Malek recommend eating dog to Sarah while she was in Hong Kong?
So she thinks we need to have more, closer, better ties to China. How's about paling around with Communists. Pushing Socialism. Scarah should stay in Hong Kong and lose herself in the throng. She wore her bumpit.

Can you believe the pic has been wiped! Also, too, can you imagine having to listen to that voice for 80 minutes. I suggest the CIA may want to investigate using it as an alternative to other forms of torture.
ReplyDeleteThis damn hypocrite sometimes she just makes my ass tight. Isn't this the same person talking about being Patriotic and all American. Isn't this the same person saying we need to stop relying on outside sources to buy American.
ReplyDeleteNow here she goes selling us down the hill to a bunch of business men and women in a very communist country just so she can bash the President. She is against a tariff on some tires so she can kiss the ass of these people. What happened to industry in the United States, oh wait thats right we didn't pay her to be on our side.
Thats right you two faced Bitch show your propensity of being venal and easy. Just show everyone how American you are and just how much you support our Industry here in the States. You do know we make tires here, don't you? Or is it not important to you since it doesn't involve gas and oil, and you will be damned if it doesn't benefit you personally and to hell with the rest of the Country.
So way to go there quitter twitter for all the American and Patriotic morals and support you show our Country, but I for one am ashamed of you and thank God I am not a member of your family because they have names for people that can be bought for a price.
The picture is gone already!
ReplyDeleteOop, no photo there now!
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Surprising...
ReplyDeleteDid you get a chance to save the pic? It's gone, now.. :-9
What happened to the photo? I even clicked on the link and was met with a message saying the photo was no longer available? Is Palin so precious that she's been able to get the net swept for unauthorized photos from this speech? Gees.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was fast work! The photo you linked to "does not exist anymore." That is some fast censorship by Palin's minions. Or Rupert Murdoch's minions.
ReplyDeleteThe wording in the Bloomberg article was interesting to say the least. Here are some exerpts that jumped out at me:
"It was a wide-ranging, 80-minute speech that may augment her bank account. (May augment it?! They won't even say how much she was paid.)
"...criticizing the Obama administration's decision to impose duties on Chinese tires." (When did she start caring about this stuff? Caring about duties on Chinese imports, not criticizing Obama. That started during the campaign.)
"...a very safe speech, boring, I have to say." (This quote is from someone attending the conference who heard the speech.)
"She took only pre-approved questions." (Some things never change.)
"It was her first trip to China after obtaining a passport in 2007." (I'm willing to bet that this was her first trip out of the country. Anyone know?)
"Palin's spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, didn't respond to multiple requests for comment about the trip." (Again, that's what they pay her for.)
"CSLA...closed the speech to the press because Palin indicated she would say different things if reporters were present." (Wait a minute, is she telling this group that it will make it more difficult or less difficult to lie or to tell the truth with the press there?--I'm confused.)
Sheesh! Anything else? Can ANYBODY get a copy of the text of this speech? Outrageous!

ReplyDeleteSarah is only out for the money. She has sold her soul to the highest bidder. We have found her price $63,500 for dinner and $100,000+ plus for a speech. The reason Todd may be living across town is that he doesn't have the price for a ride.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love her comment about her needing a wife?
If you click the title of Gryphen's blog, the article has a photo there.
ReplyDeleteThe look appears more like her appearing at a Karaoke Bar singing:
Yoooooouuuuuuuuu (send me)!!!
So this is how she will campaign for POTUS?
ReplyDeleteSpeeches only to the believers, like bush,
Face book pronouncements with no questions asked, and only interviewed by Fox news?
Does she realize she has slapped the auto industry, tire companies and unions? That's why Pres. Obama put the tariffs in place, to help the auto industry.
She is a piece of work. Only showing up when there is money involved. Perhaps she could reimburse the State of Alaska the $40,000.00 they spent on her quitter tour picnics. It's the least she could do for the states.
I wonder who wrote the speech? Nobody mentioned the word salad.
what photo?
ReplyDelete;-)
Looks like Sarah is wearing a pink silk jogging suit jacket! Shame she didn't show up in fishin' waders!
ReplyDeleteShe's not even pretty! Hate to say that, because I don't think politicians should be judged on looks but all through last September we heard about how pretty she is...She's not! Look at that face! That's a Tracy Flick face...
ReplyDeleteBefore the pictures disappeared, was anyone able to discern if she had had a face lift or other work done in the last couple of months?
ReplyDeleteFormer Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in what was billed as her first public-speaking engagement outside North America, blamed the world financial crisis on government excesses and called for a new round of deregulation and tax cuts for U.S. businesses.
ReplyDelete------------------------------------------
So those tax cuts caused unemployment to be a records highs? Deregulation let trillions of dollars in home equity vanish? Deregulation let millionaires become billionaires and we lost JOBS?
Its the same "raygun", "bush-shit"... 'trickle-down-dregulate-we're not peeing on your back- its just raining' crap that GOT US IN THIS MESS!!
It's all about the money. Money does a lot to those who love it and what it brings. one news article mentioned the sum of $300,000 for this appearance. Wow, now that could encourage some change in behavior.
ReplyDeleteShe will bring fame AND notariety to Wasilla. Maybe that's why they want to stay quiet.
Don't stop the blogging and comments. Keep it rolling.
10catsinMD.
lets see how many more of these speeches she gets at six figures. Not many.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Palin paid a visit to the Hotel Spa for all the various facial treatments, etc. just prior to her speech.
ReplyDeleteIt's a common thing to do when in Hong Kong -- I've done it yet I've never done it at home and have no plans to.
Went over and checked out the photo. Did a zoom on her face. Lines are still there. Lots of expensive makeup and creams. A lot of shadows on her. The pink jacket was chosen to soften her image, but it is way too wrinkled. the Hotel must have a steamer she could borrow.
ReplyDeleteHer hair is a wreck, with or without the bumpit. It doesn't matter what street in America or anywhere else you are from, you can go to a hairdresser before a major presentation and get combed, use a good conditioner and light spray to keep hair in place. Whisps are everywhere. Looks like she did not wash it from the long plane ride.
Still the same ole Sarah from Wasilla, just a new wrapper.
My daughter is a hairdresser and always comments about my hair and fusses over it. Her best friend did the hair for several showgirls in LV, NV. They both make sure I am looking good before I go out the door.
I also did lighting in TV studios for community shows. I am experienced in studio lighting for photography. No matter the price, hotel ballroom lighting is not that complementary.
I have seen some really pretty girls that would knock your socks off. Models with beautiful skin, hair, and great figures. Sarah will never make it. She's a real valley girl, still trying to figure which valley. Sorry folks, don't mean to rattle on. Being way to catty.
