You knew it was coming, Keith Olbermann's Special Comment to Rep. Joe Wilson.

  1. I'd like others opinions on this - it seriously bothers me:

Could this be the reason behind the incredible opposition to getting Americans reasonable health care?

Wilson is a moron who I would be willing to bet hasn't read any portion of the bill. He is getting his information from the insurance and pharmaceutical lobbies and from FauxNews and Limbaugh. I hope that his petulant toddler-like outburst costs him his seat. Until Republicans actually lose elections for this kind of behavior, it will flourish because it grabs headlines.

The Republican Party: it's for screaming ignorant toddlers.

That is a scarey site. I can't believe that people would actually do that. I need more information.

  4. Keith used "impregnably" and Palin in the same sentence at 9:20.

Yes, impregnably by definition means an "impregnable defense" as in castles that are defended and cannot be breached by any weapons.

Still, I find it interesting that he did throw this out and then mention that he hopes not to be treated as Letterman was.

Could Olbermann be the first to actually mention the unmentionable?

I just found it interesting, as was the rest of his "rant".

  5. KeithO has officially nicknamed the A**hat Tool Wilson as

    "Wrong Way Wilson"

I like it! And it sort of fits him. I was finding a**hole racist sack of monkeys*it a bit long.

  6. Helen - I have to tell you. It's all about Corporations and money. And politicians who are bought and paid for, like Wrong Way Wilson who is THE biggest recipient of health care dollars in the House.

    Bought and paid for.

Wrong Way Wilson and his Wrong Way Weenies.

  7. basheert - Of course, corporate money runs everything. But bankers betting that people will be dying earlier as a form of investment? I did hear about this form of speculation starting, but didn't follow it through to these ramifications.

I don't suppose it would surprise anyone to learn that Wilson stated this morning that he apologised because he was told to do so by his party...He never states, not once that he was apologising because he felt what he did was wrong or out of line!

And now is claiming himself to be the victim of attacks by "dangerous liberals" and begging for donations.

***Today, I need your help more than ever before. I've been under attack by the liberals for months and they’ve done everything they can to quiet my very vocal opposition to more government interference in Americans' lives. Now, it's gotten even worse, but I will not stop fighting against their policies that will only lead to more government interference, more spending, and higher deficits.

I should not have disrespected the President during his speech. But I am not sorry for fighting back against the dangerous policies of liberal Democrats. I will not back down.

Will you stand with me today and help me fight back against liberal attacks by making a donation to my campaign?***

  10. Helen - I believe that this type of speculation has happened in the past. I'm going to try and google it because I know I've heard it before.

In a way, it is similar to selling your insurance policy for cash to someone who collects when you die. For people who have NO resources, it sounds attractive but that doesn't make it ethically correct.

Thanks for posting KO's "special comment" video! I think he did a great job!

I also saw Shannyn's post at HuffPost calling that ex out for lies on her FB blog. She did a great job, too!

    Thanks, again, Gryphen!

This is totally OT, but it fits in with fighting back against wingnuts

  13. Loved his "impregnable" reference to Scarah. Yeah, he's mad and threw that out for consumption. He's not afraid to speak the truth.

Helen, insurance companies and actuaries (even the government) make bets about these things sorts of things every day.

As for investors exploiting sick people, they would have to get this past a financial regulator first. Nothing doing, and not just because it's a macabre idea, but because those same investors just brought the whole house crashing down with similarly exploitative "products".

  15. Someplace in the news I heard that the South Carolina Republicans have finally had it with Mark Sanford. They are asking the governor to resign rather than face impeachment.

Either way, I see a new bumper sticker for 2012. Palin & Sanford 2012-201?
Palin & Sanford won't get the job done but we do make headlines
Palin & Sanford: Alaska, Appalachia & Argentina
Palin & Sanford: Family Values, what family values!
Sanford & Palin: I go first, I served longer than you did.

  16. Good blog (The Field Negro) that tells it like it is--about neo-Confederate Wilson:

"No, but seriously, I have been trying to tell you Negroes in A-merry-ca and you progressive whites that there is a very large segment of the A-merry-can population that will not even acknowledge his O ness as their president. They just can't bring themselves to do it. Obama could give everyone of their households a brand new home, promise them that they wouldn't pay taxes for life, and give free college tuition to everyone of their kids, and they still wouldn't acknowledge his black behind."

Helen - A few years ago, during GWBush's first term - and, I believe after 9/11, DARPA, a department of defense research group was on the verge of setting up a "stock market" which would trade in country futures - they would essentially be betting on which 3rd world country's government was going to fall when - But then word got out and everyone was properly scandalized and so it didn't happen - unless of course it just went underground.

The irony of a defense research group setting up such a futures market, apart from its macabre 'product', is that DARPA supplies much of the research and development of the tools that our military and the CIA use to undermine unfriendly governments...

I don't know if our friends the socialists are correct about the insurance companies betting on individual's futures or lack thereof, but it wouldn't be the first time such an idea seemed like the thing to do.

Way to go Keith! We need more intelligent and knowledgable people like him setting the record straight! He's right, these stupid, ranting people are dangerous to the US. It's scary.
