Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
Rachel is great but the show of emotion wasn't. She was of course being truthful and being herself but the evil bastards on the right will go to town on it if they can.
I think Rachel would be great as the moderator of MTP. I would hope she would continue her daily program on MSNBC though. She reigns in my sanity 5 days a week. I would sorely miss her everyday if she went to only once a week.
G-Man, lately a LOT of your posts have had headline typo's. "Maddow on teh panel."...Details man. Keep up the pressure, but keep it "clean"...I love this blog. I can swear and not get admonished. And Rachel IS the best!
The right calls the truth "polarized", therefore they will have a problem with Rachel. I could care less what they think, since they've shown themselves to be corporate shills and whores who are tryng to bring down the middle class, not to mention bigots and racists and misogynists of the highest order.
Heck, the right already has a problem with Maddow, so who cares?
My husband and I love it when Rachel is on MTP. We both think she would improve it immeasurably.
However, as another poster stated, we need her every night, not just once a week.
Still, MTP has the status and probably the pay she deserves. Besides, how could people such as Liz Cheney refuse to answer booking calls if MTP calls?
Bottom line - we'd miss her if she moved to only once a week. It wouldn't be fair to expect her to do six days a week just for our pleasure. She does have a spouse that would love to have her at home on weekends. Because their family home is in MA,so that commute is already quite a sacrifice.
Whatever is best for Rachel, though. She's deserves the best because she is the best.
P.S. We do think that David Gregory has been forced to upgrade his performance since Rachel has been on. The competition has been good for the quality of the show.
I think she would be fabulous to inherit the chair in a few years; her current role in thepublic debate is, sadly, unique and essential. I would hate to lose her daily input.
I too would miss Rachel on a daily basis. Gregory on the other hand is makeing Tim Russert roll over in his grave. He is by far one of the worst interveiwers I have ever seen. Fox would be a much better venue for him and then I would never have to watdh him.
Sorry this is OT but is there anywhere I can read her transcripts on line? You're always posting all these Rachel Maddow film clips and I haven't been able to see a single one yet. I'm on dial-up, and if I want to see a you tube video or something, if I'm willing to wait a half hour of loading time for each one minute of video, I can finally see one of those...but those msnbc vids won't load no matter how long I wait! I mean, it's nice to use video to educate people but some of us can't get those.
I'd rather watch George Steponyournuts. And his wife is cute as hell.
ReplyDeleteAgree, this is the only time I've also watched . . . . .

ReplyDeleteSarah Q.
I personally think she's great. The MSM will consider her too polarized. Sigh. Rachel in 2012!
ReplyDeleteRachel Maddow is the best.

ReplyDeleteSorry SJK, I posted that in a hurry as I was running out of the door. I will try to be more careful with my editing before posting.

ReplyDeleteRACHEL! She rocks. They can't handle the truth.
On your main page I got the "Does Anybody Not Agree With This?" and under it an ad to sign a petition to "Stop Healthcare Reform".
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... might not be the message you intended.

Gryphen, I agree with you completely. But I do admit to watching Gregory for his first two sundays and it just killed the show for me.
