Lewis, Keith, Levi and Tank. Oh yes this is definitely "Blogworthy".

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Well they don't exactly love the commercial, but at least they are not nearly as harsh as some pundits have been. Chris Matthews damn near took a crap on it.

I am a huge fan of Lewis Black and can hardly wait to see his movie "Stark Raving Black".

OT, but I thought you'd like to know: According to US News & World Report, there is not going to be a separate Christian version of Sarah Palin's Memoir (although earlier this year, they announced that Zondervan would publish a version to distribute to Christian booksellers).

In fact, the reason that Harper Collins moved up the release for Sarah's memoir was to take advantage of current interest in her. I take that to mean that there might not be much interest in her if they waited for the original release date next spring. Reminds me of of all of the speech offers that poured in after Sarah's appearance in Hong Kong.

If she plays her cards right, I bet that Levi could get her a spot in the pistachios commercial once the excitement of the book thing wears off (around Thanksgiving).

Levi needs to find a life. That 'bodyguard' of his has made it clear in interview after interview (in which he incessently demands his own share of the limelight) that he intends to use the foolish young man for his own advancement. If Levi is capable of reading, he should look back over his last six months and see how truly wasted they have been, while he fronted for a lawyer and his cheap muscle looking for the big time.

And unless the nut comes with a toxic chemical coating to keep that annoying dye off our fingers, while we merrily ingest it as god intended, I have no bleeding idea what this commercial is on about.

  3. I wrote an email to Matthews after seeing him cover this ad. Does he not know that the word is Bristol took big money for her gig as an "ambassador" for the Candies Foundation? My guess would be no, he didn't do his homework.

He might take a look at some of the ads for Candies shoes and clothing before he starts throwing stones at only one of the two people who have been getting publicity for being part of the teenage pregnancy involving Levi and Bristol.

After all, Bristol was a participant in the act too, and Levi was pushed into the spotlight by Sarah when it suited her purposes.

Of the two underlying messages of the respective campaigns:

"use protection, oh and eat pistachios, too"

    versus

"don't have sex at all, oh but abstinence is unrealistic so do as I say, not as I do, and did I mention how much I love my baby, he's perfect",
    I'll take the pistachio ad.

Teens have good BS detectors, and I think that ironically the pistachio ad message is probably more convincing than the Candies gig as far as preventing teen pregnancy...

Good move ArmchairJane. Matthews and others act clueless. At least we can remind them.

Well, in a few weeks Levi will be in Playgirl. Seems Levi is working out six days a week to buff up for a photo shoot. This seems more disturbing to me than that ad.

"According to US News & World Report, there is not going to be a separate Christian version of Sarah Palin's Memoir..."

Why not? Oh wait--maybe because once you left out Sarah's artificial concern about anyone but herself, premarital sex, flexible ethics, lies about giving birth to Trig, disregard of starving and freezing Alaskans, behavior during the election campaign, and permission for her teenaged daughter to have sex in the family home, there's not much left.

  7. The Discovery channel last night was running 3 or 4 different versions of this ad. One even had a beauty Queen in it. I kid you not!

Also too, for anyone who does not like red fingers. the easy fix is not to buy imported pistachio's. They are the ones being died.
The ones grown and processed in the US are natural in color, so no one has to know about your nut fetish.
hmmm does she or doesn't she?

  8. Levi's gig for pistachio nuts is much more of a public service announcement to prevent teen pregnancy than Bristol's gig for Candies. Haven't seen any more appearances for Candies by Bristol, did she follow the family tradition and quit also?

WTF is wrong with people? Making a big deal about what Levi does or does not do? Didn't old man Heath tell him to bring home the diapers???
I agree with Armchair Jane and Pro Choice Grandma, Levi's ad is more of a public service as well as a ad. And as far as playgirl, so what? Levi hasn't made any "I'm a christian and therefore holier than thou" statements...! Leave the kid along, he's just buyin' diapers!

Chris Matthews is a pompous ass and an insult to journalism. I saw his little tirade. I think we need to send him a bag of pistachios to have with that crow he's going to be eating when this is all over.
    Putz.

    Hi all,
Levi did not ask to be put into the mix of the crazy Palins, he was drafted. How many of us really know or understand our in-laws, even after many years. This gentleman is a teenager. He is doing a darn good job in an incredibly difficult situation. I think the ad was great. I sent an email to the company letting them know I enjoyed it. It is the most watched video (by 100 times) of their several nut ads by celebrities. I follow Levi on twitter and responded to someone from New York that mocked his ad. I sent her information about the several BG sites so she can become informed and see exactly what Levi has going against him. He is doing an excellent job presenting another view of Palin. His view is more personal and less politically motivated and thereby more believable. I, for one, am grateful to offer him encouragement and support. Whew, that felt geood to say! Pam

PCG, if Bristol quit Candies, I say good for her. She needs to stand up to her psycho mother.
