Today Keith Olbermann's entire program was one long Special Comment. And it was amazing.

I am positive that Keith does not need any further comment from me, what he said was extraordinarily powerful, but I will say that if you skipped any of the segments you have missed out on part of Olbermann's most compelling Special Comment.

So if you could not get through the whole thing in one sitting, take a break, have a snack or perhaps go for a walk, and then do yourself a favor and finish watching it. Because it really is THAT good.

I watched it tonight. It was presented so thoughtfully. I was mesmerized. Sometimes I put on Beck on the oft chance I will see his head explode. But I get can't understand WTF he is talking about. Not so with Keith. He presented a great case. An adult talking to adults. Maybe there is hope for us yet.

Keith's message was powerful and poignant. The insurance companies and our "bought" politicians are who we need to fear and fight. Bravo Keith! His Dad's story was compelling and very close to home with a situation in my family. There are so many things to comment on...I recommend everyone watch this if you haven't already. I only wish the right wing crazies who screamed at the town halls and decried reform at the 9/12 tea party would watch and listen to this and other arguments.

  3. Olbermann put his whole heart and soul into this statement. I would hope that anyone watching it gives it the respect it deserves, no matter what they think of Keith Olbermann himself.

(and if they persist in vilifying the messenger instead of listening to the message, a pox on them!)

    This is Enigma4ever-
For some reason- for the first time really- stupid blogger is refusing to recognize my URL as valid- I don't understand why- I have always used my blog address with not problems...It kept saying that Watergate Summer does not end in Dot Com- it does...

Keith took the argument where it needed to go...about the Truth..the Reality...and the heartless Son-of-a-Bitch Lack of compassion that we are seeing....

  5. Amazing to say the least. Tear-jerker at times.
Contrast this thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent piece by Keith to Karl Rove's piece in today's WSJ knocking health care reform (which sounded, suspiciously, like "SP's" facebook admonishment to our President re Afghanistan). The ignorant and stupid are LOUD, but they really are a pitiful minority of LOSERS.
Truth, justice, and intelligence WILL PREVAIL.
Keith delivered a masterpiece and I am grateful.

MSNBC should buy time on EVERY MSM channel and rebroadcast this amazing Special Comment.

  7. I started watching Countdown knowing that it would be an hour long special comment. I intended to watch a few minutes of it and then turn to something else. I ended up watching the whole hour.

    It was amazing!

This is a fantastic commentary. It should be seen by all Americans NOW. I will definitely be donating to the Free Clinic movement. GO KEITH.

I agree! What he said is what our senators and representative should have presented at the Town Hall Meetings. This should be seen by everyone. No matter what one thinks of KO, they would be touched and provoked into thinking about this whole messed up situation. I can't imagine any family in American who hasn't been affected one way or another the way Keith described his situation with his father.

This was an amazing program; I found Keith to be quite powerful in his Commentary. It should be mandatory watching for our elected representatives.

  13. Gryphen thanks for posting the show, I don't have cable. His comment had a profound effect on me. It is so rare to hear someone tell the honest, blunt truth and focus on the real issue that I am in shock. I watched stories like his for years and I talked to the people after they died while I cleaned their bodies and told them I was sorry they had to suffer and they should not have died so young. That is why I am so aggressive about telling the evils of big pharma, the insurance industries and some of the healthcare corporations. I developed a hate for them not only for what they have done to others, but for what they have also done to me. It is when it happens to us personally that we realize the picture is bigger and start to look into it. I still can't stop crying. We have been lied to not only by them, but by our CDC, FDA, legislators and others. It is all about profit for many of them. The few people who stand up and tell the truth are heros because believe me I found out if you tell the truth they will harm you. They have that power and they do use it. Just like Keith said legislators are holding back reform because they are afraid of loosing money.

Our Canadian system is not perfect. I don't know if there even is such a thing. However, when we visit loved ones in the hospital, and maybe run into a long time friend, the cost of care, will never be the topic of our conversation.

Young or very old, what ever treatment is required, will be administered. No tally even kept of costs. I feel sorry for you.

It's funny, I'm 50 years old, lived here all my life, and never, ever heard of someone dying because they were denied treatment, EVER. But all of your Congressmen seem to know a Canadian or know someone who knows a Canadian that recently died because they were denied treatment.

I'm Canadian as well and my heart just sinks to think that the United States of America does not put its people first. I feel so sad and so sorry for those many millions who don't have health insurance, have inadequate insurance or have insurance but can't afford to go see a doctor because of high deductibles. I have heard all the BS about Canada's health care system and it's just that. It's not perfect but it's not broken either. What a sad situation when a country would rather spend its money on war than on its own people.

Keith Olbermann, Best Person in the World!!

Given the choice, I often prefer Rachel Maddow because Keith can get too strident. Tonight, however, because he was speaking from the heart as much as from the head, he was absolutely compelling! Having gone through the loss of both of my parents and a protracted period in the system, he is SO RIGHT! I have graduate degrees and it was difficult. I pity so many who have to navigate the system when they are elderly and really sick and have no one to advocate for them.

For those that may still have reservations about the Canadian Healthcare System; This is being hailed as a break through study that could eventually lead to personalized cancer treatments.

Researchers at the British Columbia Cancer Agency have decoded all three billion letters of DNA in a breast cancer tumor and also how they mutate.

Dr. Samuel Aparicio is the lead research in the case, said "And what it was able to show us, is that not only did the cancer evolve significantly, but also that the primary cancer was really a mosaic of cancer cells containing different mutations."

Aparicio says the task was so complex, he didn't think it would happen in his lifetime.

Now, the job is to try and apply their findings to other cancers to gather more information about how other cancers develop. British Columbia is world renound for breakthrough in medical reaserch, particularly in the area of cancer prevention and cure.

Thank you Canadians. We are so brainwashed here in the US with the Corp-owned media that we need a friendly Canadian slap in the face for some reality from time to time.

I did not get a chance to watch his show so am really grateful that it was shown here.We had the talk with my moms doctor and both my parents signed living wills so everyone knew what they wanted done. Keith Was really great but you just know non of the opposing side would watch him but maybe a few that were worried and did not understand learned something and are less afraid.we have to have real reform.Canada is not the only country that has signed in on this debate almost all other European countries have some form of national health care
