I think we should start a "Save Trig Palin" campaign.

Not difficult to write the book? No shit Sarah, you did not write a word of it!

Uh oh! Did you see how fast Sarah ditched her little prop as soon as he became a little fussy? Can't have the Palin-bots seeing their idol being embarrassed by her ticket to pro-life credibility, now can we?

And did you notice she is showing him a book without having his glasses on? "Here baby, look at these fuzzy pictures. We don't want you to look too silly for the cameras now do we? Oh that's right you can't hear me without your hearing aids in."

I am convinced that the child is not getting ANY of the therapy or special support he needs from this famiily. I really worry about what kind of future he will have. I also wonder if when she is done with this book tour if he gets sent back to wherever she got him from?

God her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard! I have no idea how ANYBODY could possibly imagine her having her own television or radio show. Her only audience would be made up of house cats mewling and hissing at the screen.

  1. She took baby Trig off the bus - in the COLD weather! She, Piper, and the entire crowd was in long sleeves and/or coats. Trig in BARE FEET, bare legs, bare tummy, short little tee shirt - all after 11 p.m!

Is she doing this interview for an Alaskan media outlet? Why is she speaking about state legislative matters now? She quit! Maybe her oil company sponsors don't want her to ignore her obligations to them and sent somebody down to get that pep talk on record for broadcasting purposes.

Gryphen......Please.....The best therapy that sweet little Trig could have...and needs, is for you and your friends to come out with the details about Trig's birth. Who the parents are and who the parents are not. I'm afraid that if you wait too long that it all be for naught. I,too, had a child with severe disabilites and never ever would have I treated him the way Sarah treats Trig. Sadly, my son passed away at the age of three, but he'll be in my memory forever. Please Please report all the imformation that you have. Who knows, you could save his precious little life. One thing for sure, he could be taken away from her on child abuse issues. Just get him out of her hands.....

Gryphen the best way to save Trig is for you and others to come forward with the information you have on this woman. On a side note I noticed that Sarah's dad must be on the bus with her as the media has a quote from him today blasting Obama.

Sarah interactions with Trig are just plain weird. She never, ever, once acknowleges him in that video. She mostly looks annoyed and inconvenienced by him. That baby is such a cutie. How could any normal person, let alone his MOTHER not give him a little hug, kiss him on his head or most importantly show just one iota of concern for him first. The interviewer gets ALL her attention. Trig gets her annoyance.

He really is just a prop for her. And he apparently isn't even a prop she appears fond of at all or is even emotionally attached to. I have never seen Palin show affection to Trig - ever.

    How very, very sad.

Uhhhh, she keeps turning the page and has no idea what Trig is doing. She doesn't even look once at him in the face to see what he's doing. She turned the page on his face. Hahahhaaa, he starts fussing and the first thing she does?????? Grab a freekin' bottle, and he don't want none of it, he wants the book. She even goes so far as to take him off her lap cause she can't pay attention to what he's doing. It's all about her. Did you see the pic of him in just a shirt and diaper and everyone else are in sweatshirts and coats? Like they just woke him up and brought him out. What a sleeze she is, such family values, Waaaaaaaaa, someone give serror her bottle.

I actually thought this was a parody or something at first. What a fraud she is. Don't ya love that look on her face at the point where he gets fussy?

I find it nauseating the way all the men who interview her have that same grin on their faces (Greta gets it too). Sarah wraps them around her little finger. Oddly, the only exception I've seen so far is O'Reilly. He didn't look as if he'd fallen under her spell. In fact, he kept giving her an "omg I can't believe this broad" look.

  14. i can't stand this.

the only reason that she is getting a pass from "her public" is that most of them are too [proudly] ignorant to know that the kid needs his glasses, [99.9% sure he needs] hearing aids, a specialized early learning therapist who damn well should be traveling on this "tour" with them, and some kind of consistent and safe feeling environment -as in NOT tour busses and flights and screaming crowds and flash bulbs in his face.

oh, and like any human toddler -DS or not- warm clothes and perhaps not being exposed to masses and masses of strangers during flu season?

this is practically child endangerment or abuse. but SP and her palinistas are probably shrugging and saying "trig is in god's hands". fuck that, if you believe in god, show him some respect and use the tools he put at your disposal to give that kid the best possible chance at developing daily living and communication skills.

this is a tragedy playing on a public stage and the media says nothing at all.....

GOod God. She never evens knows what he wants - he wants the book (which I think was a prop -look, America, we read! See katie!!) and she gives him the bottle. Her aggressive hand movements almost cut him at least 20 times.

She's a sick person. Really sick.

I watched about half of that earlier--half was all I could stomach! A couple the needs to be reported to Child Protective Services, whatever it's called there.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anonymous9:04 PM

She's learned absolutely dick all about raising/handling a DS child. Her constant quick hand movements in front of his face are totally are startling and distracting to him together with the continued turned of pages. This is like taking DS101.

That bitch has spent minimal time with that child. Her only time is when the camera is on. She should be reported to child services with all the videos of his handling and how he's been dressed on the tour as it's more than inappropriate for weather conditions when you look at people in jackets, sweaters, carrying umbrellas, adding to it the time of dragging him out of be at almost midnight.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anonymous9:09 PM

I don't think Sarah expected the camera to catch her turning pages for no reason - when Trig was interested, she turned the page. She just kept turning them, faster and faster. How could he absorb any of that? What a show.

What a god damned sad fucking show.

Poor Trig. He's a doll, too.

    Sad, Baby, Sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She puts the "prop" in inappropriate child rearing. Can someone do some kind of intervention?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous9:40 PM

This is so wrong! If it is a real interview, and she meant to be professional, then Trig has no place in the picture. We know that the Heaths, Kate, Willow, Piper are all on board to be baby sitters. Just imagine the ribbing that the Conservatives would give Obama if he did an interview with a squirming daughter on his lap.

Another reason that this is so wrong is because Sarah does not interact with the live prop in her lap. The page turning is a distraction; half the time Trig isn't even looking. And, there is no tenderness in the holding.

The fact that Sarah is holding Trig as she gets off the bus or plane (and he is not suitably dressed for the weather) means that she intends to show him off. To her base, he represents their fierce stand against a woman's right to choose, even in the face of incest or rape. Sarah is telling everyone by example, "I chose life," (but you don't have that choice).

There is no reason for an author to drag along her family on the book signing tour, again, it's just not professional. I forgot, Sarah is Rogue; she does the opposite of what regular authors do. And Sarah isn't an author; Lynn Vincent is. This is just a grand standing sorta campaign tour. Oh yeah, and to sell books, too, also.

Here's a really great idea for Sarah (since she is so sensitive to what appears on the blogs). Dress up little Trig in an adorable soldier's outfit or sailor suit. Maybe Sarah could teach him to hold a little American flag in each hand and wave them at the crowds. In fact, his first little play toy should be a play gun. Maybe one of those plush wolves, left over from the environmental protest, could be a good target. It's never too early to learn to shoot straight. Just make sure that Trig wears his glasses.

I am also disgusted to see her use her child as a prop. I can just see her when the camera comes on telling whoever its time to hand her the baby for the cameras. She has no clue about anything and is an embarrassment to Alaskans.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous9:46 PM

That is beyond sad and brought tears. How can she treat her baby like that. Where are his glasses? He can't even see that book. She was turning pages with no regard to what he was doing. She is totally USING him as a prop. I feel so badly for this poor child.

Once Sarah gets back to Alaska, any one of us can call the Office of Children's Services and make a verbal Report of Harm on behalf of Trig. We can also submit a written report as well. OCS is then obligated to investigate. Reports can be made anonymously. Anyone who has dealt with OCS knows that, even with their shortcomings, it is one state agency with whom you do not mess.

    From her Facebook page:

" Diane Carlson Sibille I believe the greatest reason people are so upset by Sarah Palin is because of her motherhood. It shows that marriage works, is sacred, and productive. People want to be "free" to not stand in the responsibility of motherhood. The whole society hates mothers. I am a mother of 3 and was called a "breeder" recenty by one of my early life left wing friends. It was a distaining remark.

I shudder to think how the bots raise their kids if Sarah is their role model.

And, if I may post a second comment. I really think that Trig is her baby and she went through the breaking water speech, the flights and the car ride to Wasilla hoping to lose the baby. Why else would she put that baby in jeopardy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Gryphen, I personally feel that neglect is a form of abuse. But Sarh is fast tracking Trig to be institutionalized. He obviously is never wearing his hearing aides or his glasses( can't learn much without 2 senses barred from him that he could have) Also he can barely sit up, he can't crawl or stand. DS children CAN advance and be production and even live on their own as adults. Trig will never be one of those. As a medically fragile foster mom( mostly shorter term) I have had 17 DS kiddos over the years, therapy is a constant and then you do therapy at home and they need to be stimulated not pacified. It's been acknowledged that Trig has a hole in his heart, I wonder if Sarah isn't trying to "end it" by trying to get him sick. The whole family is disgusting. If this is what we see in front of cameras I am sickened by the thought of the abuse and neglect we do not see.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous10:10 PM

Does he look a little big for his age or is this normal for DS children? I do not mean this as disrespectful - he is an adorable child who is wrongly being used... Just noticing his size and my son at the same age was smaller...

Trig is her prop and her shield, a distraction and a weapon to defend herself from perceived atacks. She just cannot stand on her own, she needs him and the entourage as much as she needs make-up and high heels.......because she is an aberration.

    Where did she purchase him?
Under what circumstances his mother and her relatives allowed this to happen?

We cannot save Trig anymore than we can save her own children.

But we can try. He needs that we try.

i bet she'd even use it as an anti-choice rallying-cry to make sure "other little trigs" get to have their "precious moments here with us, as god their father intended...." and on and on.

You just dont get it!! This video is proof opositive that Sarah spends her time reading 'the blogs"!! Trig is only in the video because she finally put some shoes on him,and a long sleeve sweater, and she thinks her terrible performance as a doting mommy will get all of those horrible bloggers to stop talking about how she obviously does not care for Trig. Too bad her acting the part of a loving mommy has no real experience to draw from, she just looks like she wishes he was anywhere but on her lap.I get the feeling shew was told to put his shoes on,dress him properly, and act like she cared,at the point he gets fussy because of her lack of attention and trying to stuff a bottle in his face to shut him,she looks at someone off camera to please get rid of him for her.

  51. Wow, what was the whole point of having Trig even there at the interview? It was unprofessional to start. (Perhaps all women should start taking their babies to work to show they are good mothers) To make matters worse, she doesn't even pay attention to him and just randomly flipping pages and wonders why he fusses. She looks annoyed and puts him down (to be fair all mothers have given an annoyed look to their children at times especially when we are trying to have an adult conversation with someone else) but then he "disappears" completely from the video. It focus on her face and when it zooms back out, he's gone. However on rewind, she does say "we can give him to grandma now" right before.

Breaks my heart to see her be so distant from Trig even though she is sitting in her lap. She does not touch his head affectionately or for that matter show any affection at all. ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous5:04 AM

Thank you for paying attention to this issue Gryphen; I have worried about Trig, whoever his mother may be, from the beginning. I have never EVER seen ONE picture where she looks sincerely maternal with him, just as fake as can be and even then only when she is really trying. I did see him standing up in the Oprah (I think?) clips which was heartening but if he is making ANY progress it has to be due to Bristol and whoever is doing his services. Obviously it is not Ms. I Can Help Alaska Better From Afar. I do not live in Alaska but considering what happened to the elderly under Sarah's watch, I do not have a ton of confidence in whatever early intervention services she left behind.

I forgot she said Trig has a hole in his heart - what is she thinking exposing him to the cold and the crowds like that. It's not like there is a pandemic going on or anything! Also, please correct me if I am mistaken, but don't kids with DS, who have heart defects, USUALLY need heart surgery pretty SOON after they are born? I know not all kids with DS have heart defects so I just assumed that Trig didn't have one since we had never heard about any surgery (as if she would tell the truth anyway).

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow....not only is she not allowing Trig to see the pages (by not putting on his glasses), but she's not even giving him the chance to investigate the page before she turns it...BACKWARDS, I might add.

I agree with those who think SP demonstrates poor parenting skills. Let me count the ways (but not necessary because many people have pointed out many things).
As someone who works with abused kids, I think what SP does (to the extent I have observed it) does not rise to the level of abuse, and it would be a disservice to all the abused children in our country to send our limited resources for children who are abused to SP. There's a big difference between poor parenting and abuse. As one lawyer/former social worker I once heard say: There's a constitutional right to be a poor parent (she didn't say this proudly, or defiantly. Just trying to set straight where the lines are).

The one issue on which I MIGHT disagree, if I had more information, is surgery, but that is something some pediatrician is well aware of and can handle and I'd be surprised she rejected doctor's advice on this issue. She undoubtedly has insurance, and it doesn't require her time or skills. I don't think we should assume recommended surgery has been denied.

  60. Care for Trig6:09 AM

Trig is part of the traveling entourage.

I don't know the federal labor laws in regard to children, but she may be violating in the state where she is, not where they live. Also child abuse and neglect. Crossing state lines are a whole other federal matter. Children deserve protection from parents that use, neglect or abuse. Why does Trig not have both his hearing aid and glasses if he is learning? He is there to unwittingly preform for the adults. They are earning money and gaining accolades to avenge for a political person who is testing the waters for a future campaign. The interviewer (and corp) is also a participant in this sham at the expense of a child. Is the child drugged to keep him more controllable? Circus animals are treated with more respect. Who owns the vehicles that are part of this? They can see what is going on. If a child was being used for sex, that would not be violating their rules? This is another form of child abuse, it is still abuse and wrong.

Child trafficking and slave labor could also apply. I kid you not. Trig is part of the promotion and show that is earning money for Harper Collins and Palin. Adults can agree to do this for free. Trig has no rights? He needs an advocate and to be monitored.

It would be in his best interest to be at home with his father and establishing a routine that included his therapy.

Notice he was not on the military base. Why?

Other exploited children have been checked out in current time. Jon and Kate, Octomom, Michael Jackson. Paul Petersen, a former child actor works for children and with labor laws.

Agencies that deal with the disabled should be contacted. Where are the organizations that profess to care about children? There are several blogs that cover children issues.

People who can make videos and YouTubes can help bring awareness.

  63. anon at 5:03 sometimes surgery is required and sometimes the hole will close on its own, but until then special care needs to be taken. I had a sister ( no other issues) that had the same heart problem and my parents had to baby her for years (including making sure she never was over stressed or overtired), my oldest brother used to carry her home from 1st grade every day(she was just worn out by then)--she did have surgery that next summer.
The lack of basic care, let alone the specialized care that Trig ( the little cutie) needs is so apparent and that makes it more disgusting. Trig has 4 to 6 months to either advance or unfortunately he never will.
As a mom, grandmom, foster mom, and as an RN( retired, new career) and even as a doggie momma it is very disturbing.
My dogs have better and more constant care than Trig, how sad is that.
Sometimes parents without financial resources have to fight and claw to get the services their kiddos need( because politicians like Sarah cut funding) and then to watch a family with the $$$ to get this little one everything he needs just ignore him sets ME off like a momma grizzly!
Trig should be seeing a physical therapist, an audiologist, a speech pathologist, and should be having daily routines including therapies taught by all of those specialists.
39 abused, abandoned, and neglected kiddos from a few days old to age 12 have come into my house and unfortunately those things do not just happen to poor kids, they come from families of all levels of financial status.
If any of you pray, start doing it for this little guy, because I fear it may already be too late for him to advance much more.

I share your anger, I really do. But, there is this thought that I keep having.

How many of you pick up a phone and call CPS when you see a baby underdressed? Under-cared for, if you will? Or a child out of school?

We don't know that Littlebit is blowing off school. She very well could have been given assignments to do on the occasion of her absence. We took our two oldest out of school for three weeks once, when we needed to be away. It was an emergency leave, but we were able to have their lessons and books mailed to us.

Calling CPS on this will only cause children in serious, serious danger to fall further down the list. SP is a very public figure. If the national media pick up on this, it will be enough. I am not saying Trig isn't being mis-used. He certainly is. Where are his glasses? His hearing aids? Is he receiving his therapies? We don't know. Let the MSM go to town. That might be enough. Everyone knows that SP reads the blogs, or has one of her entourage take that position. Pressure there works.

Doing nothing is not an option. Granted it takes more than one call to CPS.

Doing nothing, neglect, is not an option. Granted it takes more than one call to CPS.

Calling attention helps other children in serious, serious danger to also be noticed and increases the chance to be helped. Like Betty Ford did for substance abuse.

Being an ostrich about a public figure is not an option. Third world countries hide this kind of abuse to protect violators. In your world animals are more respected than Trig.

Show us where the MSM is going to town, please. If they were doing their job that would be one thing, it is not happening. KTUU is participating.

Sarah Palin has ZERO ability to understand how other people perceive her. Sarah could watch that video a thousand times and NEVER see that Trig is a mistreated child. Child Protective Services can NOT fix this type of abuse.

The best we can hope for is government intervention to ensure the child gets the basics. Charges should be filed against EVERY adult on the bus that allowed Trig out of his car seat while the bus was moving. The reporter was complicit and should face charges.

If the people around Sarah get fines and/or jail time, Trig will bw safer (if not happier)

The bus is moving, the child is not in a car seat.

JAIL every adult on the bus!

I watched this with the sound off. I'm not interested in anything she has to say. What was astounding, or not, was how completely disconnected she was from that child, her blatant prop. When he focused on a page, she turned it manically. What he discovered, was the furry front and he wanted to explore it with his hands and mouth. But she just kept manically turning the f'n pages! He reaches down for the book and she tries to shove the bottle in his mouth, at which point he protests. Yeah, he's got a lot to protest about. He's not eating solids b/c he can't manage his tongue and mouth movements. He needs oral/feeding therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and sign language therapy. The list goes on and on. This woman is clueless and dragging a sleeping kid of a plane so as to look like she's involved with him is so obvious, it's embarrassing. She's despicable. Like I said, it was an easy "choice" to make for her to have him, especially since she has chosen to have very little to do with him.

Body Language and Eye Contact says it all. She is totally uncomfortable with this squirmy little boy on her lap - she NEVER makes eye contact or even smiles at him. He has NO glasses, no hearing aids. When he gets fussy, he is removed. He wants the book, she tries to stuff a bottle into his face.

Poor little guy. This skank doesn't even LIKE him - it's like Rent A Retarded Kid (HER word not mine). It's worse than a stage prop - usually stage moms PRETEND to care. When she says "we can give him to grandma now" her teeth are clenched.

I think she needs to be investigated by a child protective service. Why is this kid traveling with her? She reads books from back to front!

Idiot - is a very kind word for Sarah. She is a horrible hideous excuse for a human being. Dis-gusting.

And where IS the media? All these specials they run on different issues in child abuse, but this they photograph and promote?

She is less than a media whore.

  73. Ugh. I just watched it (sound off), and it's even more disgusting than when I first viewed it.

First off, Trig is absolutely a prop. The interview wasn't about special needs kids (in which case his presence might make sense), nor did she HAVE to have him on her lap. It'd be a different story if a reporter came up to her as she was carrying him and no one was with her who could take him.

He was there to look cute, and the minute he started fussing someone took him. Notice how the camera zooms in on Sarah after she places him next to her, and then when it pans back out, he's gone!

Kid just wanted to explore the fuckin' book, Sarah. The fact that you couldn't figure that out just shows how absolutely oblivious you are as a mother.

Chill out folks - no need to call CPS. Like the poster above said, don't think we get this riled up at Walmart etc. when we see basically the same thing.

"We don't know that Littlebit is blowing off school. She very well could have been given assignments to do on the occasion of her absence."

Sure, it's possible, but they didn't bother when they pulled the kids out of school last year for her VP campaign. Piper complained that she was having a hard time catching up when she got back to school.. and that was second grade! How hard would it have been to hire a teacher to coach the girls for a month and keep them current in most subjects? Heck, there are retired teachers that would jump at the chance to help the kids and have a new experience, and earn a little extra cash. Nobody on the campaign cared, and Sarah and Todd sure didn't think to ask about it.

I agree with everyone who's said that she has not bonded in any way with Trig. He needs, as others have said, intensive therapy in multiple areas in order to make progress during this critical developmental stage. I work with special needs kids and knowing that she is exposing him to an an environment that is overstimulating, inconsistent and potentially dangerous to his health and development just infuriates me.

I can't even look at the video because it upsets me so much, but I take some comfort in knowing that, on the campaign trail, Bristol did seem to have developed a strong affection for him. Hopefully, he will soon be returned home where he can get the care and love he is clearly lacking on the book tour.

I worked for Alaska's child protective services agency for many years. The line workers do heroic work, but are routinely stifled by an administration whose priorities are often elsewhere. Like all state agencies, OCS is a political outfit. The director and her staff know who they can mess with and who they can't touch. I guarantee that any complaints received against the Palins would be immediately squelched by the administration. Sadly, if the family name was Gonzales or Washington or Ivanoff, all the kids would long ago have entered the system.

This post just makes me want to cry. When I was 9 a family member had a disabled son who was given up for adoption. He did not get the care he needed, and grew up to be a very disturbed man. I hate to think that this sweet little boy may have the same happen to him.
