Palin former legislative director speaks out concerning portrayal in "Going Rogue".

"I'm just pilloried right and left and turned into the big bad wolf here for stuff I didn't do," said Bitney, who is now an aide to Valdez Republican Rep. John Harris. "It's like I'm this fictional character that she's decided to make me out to be this sort of incompetent slob."

John Bitney was so angry that he referred to Palin as a "sociopath" on Shannyn's show "Moore up North" on Saturday. (You can read the entire Bitney ADN interview, and Sarah's attorney's response, by clicking the title.)

The fact is that "Going Rogue" is has more fabrications per page than any work of fiction that I can remember. I believe that before all is said and done Palin may face numerous lawsuits, and embarrassing revelations about the truth, coming from insiders who know better.

As further evidenced by this guest post on Mudflats just yesterday.

I love the response of Van Fleabag! 'No-one has the right to stifle her speech' LOL! (Haven't read the mudflats post yet, will go there after this... :D )

BRING IT ON, all you thrown-under-the-bus people! Come out and speak the truth!!!

I'd have more respect for the guy if he'd manned up about what a whack job she is during the campaign. Or, like, now?

As much as she lies about people in the book, I don't think any of it is actionable. It's all at the level of your typical high school mean girl. The standard Harper Collins contract puts the financial burden for suits squarely on the author, but it's a headache for them and I've no doubt they had a lawyer go over everything before it went to print.

WOW!!! I just read the response of Mr. Mitchell, attorney...
Very well spoken (written), and just the beginning of the proverbial iceberg (in my case I would suggest using 'avalanche'...) that is about to hit $$$arah now. Many more people will speak out after this - especially after the tepid response from Van Fleabag to Bitney.
Interesting that he mentions the Enquirer story about her 'alleged' affair just before he talks about the 'Pinocchio truth serum'...

I am not sure about this but, why do rules not apply to Sarah? I beleive I heard on Olberman she was taking political donations at Fort Bragg. Was that her way to sticking it to us because the Army wouldn't let her speak? Is this true, because if it is she turned it POLITICAL and that is what they did not want.

I really hope someone will soon. You can't let someone get away with so many defamation's in one book.

And I really hope she has that indemnity clause in her contract, she will be financially responsible for all court costs for the publisher, (also, too.)

Her big advance will be bye-bye in a heartbeat. I really hope she has alternative income. I don't think Todd should have quit his job so soon.

Oh, that's right. That's what the Alaska Fund Trust is for. They better start contributing to her legal fund soon.

    re: Mr Mitchell's last jab

Ms. Palin's entourage contains a seemingly ever expanding group of supportive family members. So where's Todd?

If I were the National Enquirer I would have a P.I. tailing Todd right now. And I would be sending the paparazzi to wherever he is spending Thanksgiving.

Yes, she is a sociopath. And a narcissist, also, too.

Papa Palin is saying derogatory things about the President at Ft. Bragg? So, that's where Sarah Louise gets her mean girl.

Gryphen, this "they're trying to stiffle my 1st amendment rights" response to criticism is exactly what Carrie Prejean brought up when one of the morning show interviewer's brought up the idea that Carrie's behavior might by hypocritical (that was after the 1st sex tape became known). It's as though they believe that the 1st amendment means that they can lie and tell half-truths with impunity, free from any criticism. I don't think they understand the 1st amendment at all.

Is there anyone that Sarah can get along with for more than one or two years?
Meg Stapleton. But anybody else outside her family?

That's sociopathic. Even if she was not into revenge and didn't need to denegrate everybody she parts company with, its sociopathic.

I'm taking bets that Ms. Vincent is the next to fall from grace. She knows too much and must be preemptively attached and destroyed.
As the list of proven lies in Sarah's book keep mounting up she will need someone to blame.

These people who are now being slammed should have been A LOT more revealing about her before now. Sorry but I don't think they have done enough to tell the world who/what Palin is. Are they going to do it now? Blog posts aren't enough sorry. And either are articles in papers. There are many in the MSM who would be glad to interview Palin's perceived enemies on TV. I can see Halcro, Bitney, Mitchell and others doing the rounds on Larry King and other places.

And to all of the Alaskans who know what a sociopath Palin is, why don't you do something about it? What are you waiting for?

Yesterday someone suggested everyone write Gloria Allred about Trig. I did that. What else can we do. I mean why is that poor kid outside in cold weather not properly dressed? It's sickening. And why is Piper out of school again.
How can anyone respect Sarah. Surely Todd has had it since he isn't on the the Look AT ME ME tour.

I wonder if Ms. Vincent is also responsible for court costs, since she wrote the words, or if she is immune like HC is.

This response from her attorney about "stifling free speech" is such a load of nonsense! She tried this foolishness last year during the campaign when the media called her out on her inflammatory statements in her rallies. Suddenly, the MSM was trampling all over her first ammendment rights and wasn't she just a victim of a conspiracy to silence her!
The same free speech she claims for herself also is the same free speech right John Bitney is exercising when he defends himself from the slime she throws his way in her book.
No one is implying that she doesn't have the right to say whatever she wants, however that doesn't mean she is therefore insulated from reaction to her "free speech."
Why does Sarah Palin hate America and the Constitution? Doesn't she realize that our military has fought for John Bitney's freedom to call her a unprincipled, self-inflated liar?

    More lawsuits, Counselor?

    From whom?

Steve Schmidt? By statute he can be considered a "limited public figure" as can John Bitney.

    Same problem.

    Levi Johnston? Please.

The dilemma caused by New York Times Co. v. Sulllivan just seems to be one legally illiterate people (such as "Anonymous @ 6:42) don't get. The media looks for dirt on Palin. By doing so they find a kid like Johnston, make him a celebrity, and consequently compromise his right to legal redress for defamation because he's gone from a private citizen to a a celebrity and therefore has to prove malice in any action against Palin for defamation.

Now Bitney has been dispatched to the same legal purgatory.

As I've said again and again, thanks for the lunacy. Everyday Obama wakes up with a new problem created by the people who put him in the White House.

Do you think he's thrilled that Palin's numbers are closing in on his?

Yes, Alaskans know what a sociopath is, we have also become quite adept at recognizing narcissism and lipstick on a pig....

Alaskans have dubbed the new Governor "Palin's Bell Boy". Go figure.

What polls are you looking at? Palin's been going straight down for a year, she isn't "closing in" on anyone.

Here's something some of you might want to use. It might help one or two of you who have not snapped yet slow down the decompensation.

Really, you think Palin is in your head now--just wait.
