On February fourth through the sixth the vortex of insanity will be in Nashville, Tennessee. Run, hide your children!

The first ever National Tea Party Convention will be held on February 4-6, 2010 at the famous Opryland Hotel Nashville, Tennessee. The event is being organized in part by Tea Party Nation.

TPN announced today (Nov. 24) that U.S. Rep. Michele Bachman "just confirmed" that she will be one of the Breakfast speakers at the convention. Bachman is just one of the luminaries who will attend this landmark event. Sarah Palin has already agreed to be the Special Keynote Speaker for the convention, which will feature other well known speakers, workshops, seminars, information centers, and organizational tools for leaders to take back to their respective local Tea Party organizations.

There is not enough Prozac on the planet to get me through speeches by both Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman on the same day without my skull popping open and my brain making a mad dash for the exit.

The tickets to attend this psychosis inducing convention are going for a whopping $549. I wonder if that includes the price of the safety corks that cover the tips of the forks.

We don't want those poor teabaggers to put out an eye, now do we?

Seriously, I dont know why you bother to fight these little battles when you have the bomb at your disposal. You are like little mosquitoes, a bit annoying, but harmless. You think you are picking away at her but you aren't, she rises above it all. When I hear people talking seriously about her becoming the next president I am dumbfounded. But we may still be in a hard situation come 2012, and people will be hungry for change again... letting her get strong enough to silence you is a stupid stupid mistake. Right now you have a voice, you may not always have that voice.

Just stop this madness before it becomes out of control.

Someone needs to expose Sarah's bizarre and extreme religious views - and her religious backers - before this takes place. If she gets to speak at this convention without having been severely discredited by the MSM, well that's big trouble. These folks are such a pain in the ass. But, they are loud and get an inordinate amount of attention; squeaky wheel and all that.

Will Sarah support the teabag guy in AZ or will she support John McCain?

  5. So the tea baggers and baggerettes are willing to fork over $549 to listen to screeching, whining, cow manure speeches. Funny how they complain that everything is so effing bad ecomonically and they are so effing hurting? Irony is lost on these clowns. If they can afford this cow pasture party then they need to sit down and STFU. So who is profitting from this bovine soiree? Where is this money going? What exactly is it funding? What a bunch of WATB. And no, you can't have our country back because you're not the only inhabitants and every time you all get your hooves on it you turn everything to cow pies.

  6. Can you imagine Lazy eyes and Crazy eyes at the same event?? !!!
But aren't those ticket prices a little "elitist"? Seems like most teabaggers would not be able to afford them?

This is GREAT. The more she is saddled with the Teabaggers the better. It will discredit her to any serious person and having said that, I bet she cancels.

But if she does cancel, it means someone behind the scenes with a brain told her not to go. HOPE SHE GOES.

Sarah is going to support McLame, which is why he is sucking up now and not supporting his campaign staff against her lies.

But if she supports the other guy, man will that be fireworks.

  10. Apparently the plane Plain is flying aroud in belongs to Samaritan Purse which is Franklin Graham's organization. I guess it was the Rolling Stone article during the election that revealed the connection between Palin & Graham. She was hand picked as VP by Graham so McCain could get the wingnut votes. He is a very shady figure...drugs, mafia etc. Believers who donated to Samaritan Purse I am sure did not know their money was going to be used to fly her sorry ass around. I doubt it's legal. This whole movement is really getting out of control & taking on a life of its own. Just as Trig is a prop for Palin, Palin is a prop for a very dangerous, unamerican group whose numbers seem to be growing.

Anon @ 7:20 -- Actually, Max Blumenthal has exposed Sarah's bizarre and extremet religious views, and her backers. His book, 'Republican Gomorrah' is a real education. I've read it twice, the first time just to see what it was all about, and the second time to really understand it. It's very frightening and is a wake-up call to all of us who are educated thinkers.

At the moment, James Dobson (Focus on the Family) is the leader of the movement to put as many evangelicals in leadership roles to actually amend the Constitution to a follow a biblical/religious form of government.

Watch for the codes of evangelicals. This book will clue you in on how the talk. One instance I have noticed: All the "Pray for Obama -- Psalm 109:9" literature out there should be a clue. When Palin said recently "We should pray for my critics, she was "coding" to her followers to pray the Psalm 109:9, which is actually a "prayer" to have our president die.

These are dangerous, but powerful, people. Yet the "right" cannot function without them, and they know it.

Hope this helps. I think everyone should read it.

Zane and anonymous at 7:01 You are both so right. Gryphen you are doing nothing but helping to feed her frenzy. Amazing, she shut down PD and Morgan's site. Have they gotten to you as well? I am totally amazed that as creative a person as you are that you have not figured out how to break this thing open.
The logic of this says to me that you either don't know what you claim to know, are pie in the sky hopeful or worse guilty of aiding and abetting the enemy.

We've been faithful to you, but it's time to blow the whistle or stop whistling. Your credibility is sinking - fast.

Serious people are not the people who support her, but they all have a vote. I think even serious Republicans would just as soon see her go, but only after they have used her in order to whip up this hysterical voting bloc. The party will simply ask the Palin supporters to vote for their candidate, whoever it ends up being. She knows darn well there probably aren't enough of them for her to attempt a third party run herself. Unless she believes prophecy will unfold and she will gain in popularity in some huge way that hasn't been contemplated so far!

I can't imagine the ragtag protesters known as the TeaBaggers in the Opryland Hotel. It is incredibly beautiful and classy. There are three separate one-acre indoor gardens with waterfalls and beautiful decorations. Rooms typically run from $390 to $500. I have fond memories of staying there - for business :)

The T-baggers are the scariest part of the far right conservative branch of the Republican party. And, if they break away, they will succeed in splitting the opposition party into what's-left-of-the-republicans and the wacko-t-baggers. They can will local elections; they cannot win the white house this way.

I personally know of moderate republicans who could not bring themselves to vote for McCain/Palin because of Palin. As the t-baggers push the republicans further and further to the right, they will lose the group of people who deceide the national election, the independents.
Please, t-baggers, scare away as many people as you possibly can!

Opryland is a huge beautiful hotel and the facilities do not come cheap. It is on a scale with some of the places on the Las Vegas strip. Of course, it does not have the gambling revenue to offset costs.

I was there for a convention about 10 yeats ago and what stuck me was how retro a world it tried to create. Like having Lawerence Welk reruns with the teenage Lennon Sister on the TV. I kid you not. Also the "south will rise again" meme was in evidence. The teabaggers should feel at home in this fantasy world.

Unlike Disneyland, Opryland has no Tomorrowland.

Sadly so many in our country are not particularly educated, or into deep thinking. I don't think we can blame this entirely on our educational system, though clearly it needs reform and more importantly, fair and consistent funding. The fact of the matter is that many Americans are anti-intellectual and they view anything but the "certainties" of their faith as completely irrelevant and unnecessary. I will look into Mr. Blumenthal's book. I think more of America needs to become aware of this, it just doesn't seem to be out there yet for the larger, TV-watching public. When shows like The Insider end up being on the forefront of investigative reporting, nothing against them, but that is saying a lot. Kudos to them for covering Levi's side of things, however. Whoever makes decisions about their programming gets this Sarah Palin mess.

OT: I have to admit, I was impressed with this new tactic of Sarah's. OBVIOUSLY, if you diss Sarah Palin, it's because you don't respect women or, now, we're learning, it's because you don't respect Alaska. It can't be because of Sarah herself. It's brilliant in a way...I'm sure the Palinistas will hop up and down the web repeating this in their loud obnoxious way.
Incredibly brilliant, and, if she really wants to be president, incredibly stupid. Oh, well...shhh...let's not tell her that she's looking like a petty high schooler...it'll be our secret.

  30. This is excellent.

They will marginalize themselves more and more. And they will identify themselves to boot.

This is going to lose Michelle Bachmann her seat in the next election. It's going to make GOP candidates (further) avoid Palin's endorsement like the plague.

It will be putting all of the nutjobs in one basket and then belling them.

    This is a good thing.

    Trust me.

I read a book by President Jimmy Carter that exposed what the White House has to contend with: the power of the fundamentalists. Yes, it is scary, but perhaps its time for the David in us to knock out Goliath? I have been reluctant about reading Blumenthal's book because I didn't want to get depressed. Yes, we should all read it. A good warrior should know their enemy so to speak.

This should be interesting, as, to my memory, there has yet to be a venue that combined Palin and Bachmann. . .and if you Google Bachmann's previous commentary on Palin, um, not a lot of Tea and Sympathy there.

I'm not seeing them joined at the hip at all, they are both vying for the same narrow niche: GOP Joanie of Anarchy.

The idea that Sarah calls "right" is the same idea that someone else calls "wrong." The solution that Sarah calls "perfect" is the solution that another calls "unworkable."

The position that you feel is unassailable is the very position that others assail. What will solve all of this? Not attack, that's for sure. And not defense, either.

So what is left? Simple human love. The kind of love that says, "It isn't about who is right or wrong. It only matters that I don't hurt you and that you do not hurt me or others.

We all can learn to grow in our understanding of each other. We can grow our love deeper and reach inside our heart and humanity to find our unity and common bond. That is your God given right and responsiblity to each other. When are you going to start? G.O.D

I'm sure the Sheeple think that $549 guarantees a place for them in Heaven at Sarah's feet (remember, they most likely believe that Sistah Sarah would be sitting at the right hand of God when they all make the long trip upwards on a sunbeam).

We have the "everychild left behind" program to make sure that the Sheeple will continue into the future. The majority of Americans are ignorant. This whole movement is happening and there is no way to stop it now. We could even put Ester in jail and the idiocy would not stop.
    Be prepared to exhibit restraint.
In the mean time you can....Fry up a whole onion and one bulb of garlic chop a bunch of celery throw that in. Add about four grated carrots. then add water just to cover.Throw in some sage little black pepper Paprica and tablemare works also, then two TBS honey. cut about four big sweet potatoes diced. simmer. when soft puree the whole thing. Then add about one and a half cups wild rice. simmer for an hour or so. This should make a huge pot of soup that will feed masses. Oh and add a dollop of sourcream to the top as you serve it. Yogurt works also. Fresh garlic bread did i forget that part? And this is best after three days. Yall have a great holidaze.

When I was in college, we had our choice between taking a math class or philosophy. I thought that I was taking the easy way out with philosophy (math would have been easier).

One of the first things that we read was Plato's Republic. Being 18, naive and wanting to believe in all that was good and wonderful, I was really upset. Plato reasoned that most of the people were too stupid to be allowed a say in their government. Those matters should be left to the elite, the intelligent, maybe 600 of the smartest people. (I am paraphrasing here, it was some time ago).

Well, that didn't sound very democratic to me then. Now, when we are treated to videos of Sarah's low-information people, I finally have to change my mind. Some of these people are too dumb to making it into Jay's Jay-Walking Stupid People on Parade feature.

It is clear that this is Sarah's base. I read some of the comments on her face book page. Comment after comment had misspelled words: "Don't let them tare you down," and "I pray that your going to heaven." They also respond to "code words," so that when Sarah tells them that in a few days Jews will be returning to Israel, she is hitting the silent dog whistle, that only they can hear. "Days" means that when the Jews come back to Israel, we are all going to heaven in the rapture (not them, just us).
