The fabricated world of Sarah Palin's "sons".

Lies. Everywhere you look in this book you find more lies. Lies about her administration, lies about ethics charges, lies about her childhood, and lies about her FAMILY.

And perhaps these lies are the most telling lies of all. The ones that Palin shapes to carefully create the "oh so false" image of the perfect mother. The woman who can have it all. The "Superwoman" if you will. And all of it, every single bit, is a lie.

Take for instance Sarah's version of Track's military enrollment and the reasons behind it.

Eventually, Track's injuries and shoulder surgery made him realize he'd be hanging up the blades. But he was still drawn to the team culture of brotherhood and camaraderie, and a tough environment where he had to push through challenges to meet a goal. He had seen some of his older buddies floundering around right after high school and knew that was not for him. He's like me in that respect. He has an appreciation for the most valuable resource God gives us--time--and time is limited. He doesn't like to waste it.

Track started revisiting Army recruiters he'd first met in the cafeteria at Wasilla High School. Then, the week his first term in college started and with Todd on the Slope, Track and his high school buddy, Johnnie Bates, enlisted in the U.S. Army as infantrymen. On September 11, 2007, they took the oath at the recruiting office in Anchorage as Johnnie's mom, Nicki, and Kris Perry and I looked on, blinking back tears of pride.

These are just kids! I thought. Yet they're doing all they can to protect and serve the greatest country on earth. Are the rest of us doing as much? (P 170)

Just tugs at the old heart strings doesn't it? Or perhaps it simply makes you as nauseous as it makes me. Look I have never met Track, and he could be just as ridiculously patriotic as Sarah paints him. But I know eighteen year olds, and they if they have the connections that Track had through his mother, and a name that helped to open doors all through the state, is seems very unlikely he would throw that all away and join the military in a time of war. Especially a branch of the service that is guaranteed to be on the front lines, and where there is a good chance he may return in a flag draped coffin or maimed for life before he reaches twenty years of age.

That is usually a choice made by somebody without many options. Say somebody who had been caught cutting school bus tires, or stealing vodka from a liquor store.

Kids make mistakes, and I certainly do not want anything but good for Track's future, but sadly for him this is yet another blatant lie in this book which needs to be brought into the light of day. Sarah Palin tries so hard to revise history that she makes it appear much too fantastical to be believed. I hope that Track finishes his tour of duty in perfect health and returns to make a life for himself that will keep him far way from the poisonous influence of his mother. And that may be difficult because unlike our next subject, he is without a doubt Sarah Palin's son.

THE VERY SPECIAL MYTHOLOGY OF TRIG PAXSON VAN PALIN.

There was no way I could buy a home pregnancy test in Alaska. The cashiers would know, the people in line would know, and the next thing I'd see would be a headline.

Since nobody knew me in New Orleans, I asked my security guy to drop me off as a Walgreens. Back at the hotel, before my speech, I followed the instructions on the pregnancy test box. Slowly a pink image materialized on the stick.

Holy Geez! (P 171)

I sighed and stared at the ceiling. These are really less-than-ideal circumstances.

And for a split second it hit me: I'm out of town. No one knows I'm pregnant. No one would ever have to know.

It was a fleeting thought, a sudden understanding of why many women feel pressured to make the "problem" go away. Sad, I thought, that our society has elevated things like education and career above the gift of bringing a new life into the world. Yes, the timing of this pregnancy wasn't ideal. But it wasn't the baby's fault.

At that moment, I was thankful for right-to-life groups that affirm the value of the child. That say, yes, every child has value and a purpose and a destiny. (P 172)

So according to Sarah, if NOT for the wonderful Pro-life people she might have decided to abort her baby? The only other thing that comes even close to the number of lies in this book is the number of times she panders to her perceived future constituents. Whether they be conservatives, military families, pro-life supporters, evangelicals, or other special interests she goes WAY out of her way to make special little comments just for them.

On why it took several weeks before she told Todd.

Between my job and his we kept missing each other, so it was a few weeks before we were in he same room and I told him about the baby. (P 173)

She knows she is pregnant and does not tell her husband for "a few weeks"?

She also, out of nowhere, throws in the fact that she had a SECOND miscarriage.

Between Willow and Piper, I had a second miscarriage. (P 174)

This part is especially fascinating because according to Cathy Baldwin Johnson's (CBJ) letter dated November 3, 2008 (The day BEFORE the Presidential election) she stated that "At the time of her most recent pregnancy, Governor Palin had no health risk factors other than her age". My question is "when are two previous miscarriages not considered "risk factors" to a pregnancy?"

At about twelve weeks along, I visited CBJ at her Wasilla family practice.

She looked at me kindly, "Well, you're forty-three, so there's a higher chance of certain abnormalities." Then she showed me some statistics, one of which said about a one-in-eighty chance of having a child with Down syndrome.

"We discussed all of this when you had Piper, and I remember you said abortion wasn't going to be an option (gotta make sure to drive the point home that Sarah is pro-life all the way!), so I just want you to keep in mind that there is some chance everything isn't going to be as easy or perfect as your other pregnancies. (P 174)

This is called "foreshadowing". I learned it in my Freshmen year of high school.

Time to add a new sonogram detail.

Then the technician said. "The baby's neck is a little bit thicker than what we would normally see..."

My first thought was, "Twelve weeks along and you can already measure the baby's neck? Amazing!" Then, a bit more somberly, I remembered that somewhere along the line I had heard that that was a sign of Down syndrome. (P 175)

Do "technicians just blurt these things out? No, they do not. It is the doctor's job to divulge this information and to explain just what it means.

CBJ called me the next day. Combined with my age, she said, the sonogram pictures meant there was now a one-in-twelve chance the baby had Down syndrome.

"There's a doctor in Anchorage I want you to go see, a geneticist," she added. "I'm also offering you an amniocentesis"--the common prenatal test for genetic abnormalities.

I had always flippantly declined the amnio's before, thinking they didn't matter, since I confidently asserted I would never abort anyway. But this time I said yes. This time I wanted information. If there was something wrong, I wanted to be prepared.

She was offered amnio's before? Why? Palin would have been 36 years old with Piper, and only 30 when Willow was born. Why would a woman, known to be ferociously pro-life, be asked about amniocentesis?

Todd was out of town on the day of the appointment, so I visited the geneticist alone--through the back door, under my maiden name.

Have you noticed that Todd always seems to be "out of town" during the most critical episodes in Sarah's life? And why would she sign in with her maiden name? HIPAA protects her from having the doctor discuss anything about her appointment. Surely she is not suggesting that she gave a fake name to a medical professional? Or is she?

Three days later, I was in my Anchorage office when CBJ called. I thought it was strange she would give me the results. I could have sworn that the nurse said she's be calling. I still remember what time it was: 2:22 p.m.

Actually NO the nurse would NEVER have contacted CBJ without Palin's explicit instructions to do so. If she did, she would be summarily fired for ignoring the rules of HIPAA.

"I have the amnio results," she said. "I think you should come to my office in Wasilla. Can you come now?"

"Cathy, I've got so much to do here today. It's okay...whatever it is, it's fine, just go ahead and tell me now."

"Okay," she said softly, "The child will be born with Down syndrome--"

I'm coming to Wasilla,: I interrupted and hung up the phone. (PP 176-177)

Todd finally returned a few days later. He plopped down on the bed, still in his winter coat. I handed him the sonogram pictures, and that's when the dam broke. I could let my guard down.

"It's a boy," I said between tears. "It's definitely a boy."

He looked up at me, and his eyes filled with tears. "See, Sarah? God knows what He's doing! This is great."

I stood beside the bed. I didn't know how to say it any other way but straight. "The baby has Down syndrome." (P178)

A few weeks to find out that his wife is pregnant and now few more extra days to learn that his son has Down's syndrome. Does Todd EVER know what is going on?

Before I knew it, I was seven months along. I hadn't put on a lot of weight and with winter clothes and a few cleverly draped scarves, no one saw my girth or suspected I was pregnant. A blazer was getting tight enough that Willow looked at me one day and said, tactfully, "Geez, Mom, you're porking up!"

Great opportunity to call the family together and tell them you are pregnant. What? Not the right time? Hmm....odd.

"Oh, hush," I said. "Now pass me the Haagen-Dazs. Chocolate with peanut butter."

I hadn't quite finished writing my letter about Trig. But at that point in March we shared the news with family and a few close friends that I was pregnant. (P 191)

Todd and I decided to get the baby announcement out there, so I called a few reporters near my Capitol office, KTUU's Bill McAllister, AP reporter Steve Quinn, and Wesley Loy from the Anchorage Daily News would be there in a minute, they said.

"Guys, I 'm pregnant. I'm having a baby in two months!"

Three mouths fell open, and three pairs of eyes dropped straight to my stomach. I laughed out loud. (P192)

So this is the story. Sarah Palin managed to hide her pregnancy, not only from the people she worked with EVERY day, but even from her own children who must have seen her walk around her house in various stages of undress but never suspected a thing. She has daughter's for Christ's sake! Are you telling ME they never walked into the bathroom while mom was getting dressed or ready for work?

Of course it IS kind of hard to fault them when Sarah still photographed like THIS a week after she announced she was pregnant.

And WHY would she not have told them? Did she fear they could not keep a secret? Odd, because from what I can tell they have been VERY good at keeping secrets!

THE MORNING OF THE WILD RIDE !

My pregnancy was going fine, and with five weeks to go, I felt great. But at 4 a.m., a strange sensation low in my belly woke me and I sat straight up in bed.

It can't be, I thought. It's way too early.

Moments later, I shook Todd awake. "Something's going on."

He sat up in bed, instantly alert. "I'm calling CBJ."

"No, don't do that. It's one a.m. in Alaska.

It occurred to me, once and for all. I'm so in love with this child, please God, protect him!" After all of my doubts and fears, I had fallen in love with this precious child. The worst thing in the world would be that I would lose him. God knows what He is doing.

Well if she LOVES this child so desperately then the only possible response to having concerns about a "strange sensation" would be to seek medical attention immediately!

Over my protests (protests?), Todd called CBJ. I told her that I felt fine and absolutely did not want to cancel my speech and disappoint the folks at the conference, including my cohost, Texas Governor Rick Perry. We agreed that I would stay in contact with CBJ through the day, I'd take it easy, give my speech, then catch an earlier flight back to Alaska. I still had plenty of time. (P193)

"Still had plenty of time"? How in the hell does she figure this? She has given birth four times, had two miscarriages, and now she is having a "strange sensation". (Actually according to other reports, by Palin herself, she was "leaking amniotic fluids".) Everything about this situation screams "rush to the hospital"! But what does Palin do?

AFTER THE SPEECH THE WILD RIDE BEGINS!

I reached Todd at the exit, and he eyed me with a grin, "Love this state, but we can't have a fish picker born in Texas." It was a calm, relatively restful flight home.

THAT is pretty much all that Sarah says about this flight. Nothing about cramps, or contractions, or messy fluids dripping on her seat, just a "relatively restful flight". Bullshit.

I confessed to Todd that I may not have handled the whole pregnancy announcement thing right. "He'll be here so soon, I didn't have time to prepare anyone, not even the kids," I said. "I should have given everyone that letter* already. I feel guilty knowing that I'll put them through more shock when he is born."

Many hours and two plane flights later, with Todd and our daughters nearby, I delivered Trig Paxson Van Palin into the world at the Mat-Su regional Medical Center.

Once again NO details.

I was glad God brought him to us early. We were so anxious to meet him. I hadn't known what to expect. I didn't know what he would look like or how I would feel. But when I saw him, my heart was flooded with unspeakable joy. I knew that not only had God made Trig different but He had made him perfect.

Todd beamed. I heard him whisper to CBJ, "Hmmm, he doesn't look Downs." (P 195)

Have to reinforce that meme so that people don't wonder why certain photographs of the baby do not reveal any signs of Down syndrome.

What everybody who read this needs to realize is that the WHOLE THING IS A LIE!

None of it happened! None of it! This version of the birth never took place. Period!

I have still not quite determined WHERE Trig came from, but I am very confident that THIS is not the story of his birth. But I think I am getting closer. Oh and by the way, THIS is not the only baby birth mythology in the Palin family.

AN ADDED "TREAT" FOR MY VISITORS.

At various times in the book Sarah makes reference to a letter that she wrote about Trig. I have taken the time to transcribe it for you below. But beware. It is a WHOLE new level of batshit!

*TRIG'S LETTER

I am blessing you with this surprise baby because I only want the best for you. I've heard your prayers that this baby will be happy and healthy, and I've answered them because I only want the best for you!

I heard your heart when you hinted that another boy would be best for the Palin family, to round it out and complete that starting five line-up. Though another girl would be so nice, you didn't think you could ask for what you really wanted, but I knew, so I gave you a boy.

Then, I put the idea in your hearts that his name should be "Trig," because it is so fitting with two Norse meanings: "True" and "Brave Victory"

Then, finally I let Trig's mom and dad find out before he was born that this little boy will truly be a GIFT. They were told in early tests that Trig may provide more challenges, and more joy, than what they ever may have imagined or ever asked for. At first the news seemed unreal and sad and confusing. But I gave Trig's mom and dad lots of time to think about it because they needed a lot of time to understand that everything will be OK...

This new person in your life can help everyone put things in the perspective and bring [you] together and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet. He'll show you what "true, brave victor" really means as those who love him will think less about self and focus less on what the world tells you is "normal" or "perfect"...

Trig will be his daddy's little buddy and he'll wear Carharts while he learns to tinker in the garage. He'll love to be read to, he'll want to play goalie, and he'll steal his mom's heart just like Track, Bristol, Willow, and Piper did. And Trig will be the cuddly, innocent, mischievous, dependent little brother that his siblings have been waiting for...in fact Trig will--in some diagnostic ways--always be the mischievous, dependent little brother, because I created him a bit different than a lot of babies born into this world today.

Every child is created special, with awesome purpose and amazing potential. Children are the most precious and promising ingredient in this mixed-up world you live in down there on earth. Trig is no different, except he has one extra chromosome. Doctors call it "Down syndrome," and Downs kids have challenges, but can bring you much delight and more love than you can ever imagine!

Trig's mom and dad don't want people to focus on the baby's extra chromosome. They're human, so they haven't known how to explain this to people who are so caring and interested in this new little Alaskan...Some will think Trig should not be allowed to be born because they fear a Downs child won't be considered "perfect" in your world...

Many people will express sympathy, but you don't want or need that, because Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this.

I know it will take time to grasp this and come to accept that I only want the best for you, and I only give my best. Remember though: "My ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your thoughts...for as the heavens are higher than the earth, my ways are higher than yours!"

I wrote that all down for you in the Good Book! Look it up! You claim that you believe in me--now it's time to live out that belief!

Trig can;t wait to meet you. I'm giving you ONLY THE BEST!

Love
Trig's Creator. Your Heavenly Father (PP 185-187)

Damn! That is a butt load of crazy!

I did not change a WORD. That is exactly how that letter appears in Palin's book. And it may give the very best indication of the kind of psychosis that we are dealing with. She speaks as if SHE is God, and then demands that the people who read the letter, dare not question Her choices, because they come from "ways higher than yours".

The very idea that this woman was chosen to share the ticket with John McCain, and that she still entertains the possibility of running in 2012, should send a shiver up the spines of EVERY American.

I will have more of "Going Rogue" for you in the future, but I figured that THIS was the portion that the people who visit here were most interested in reading.

Have fun, I look forward to your comments.

  2. I've always maintained that *if* she was pregnant and *if* Mr. Toad's Wild Ride took place exactly as she says the reason is because she wanted to lose the baby. Her subsequent treatment of Trig haven't changed my opinion.

Someone on Mudflats says DS babies are highly susceptible to upper respiratory infections. Is that why Sarah is trotting him out to every Walmart and Sam's club in the red neck U.S.?

The other Palin birth mythology? Geez, could be anything from that crazy woman. Tripp's birthday? Paternity of Track? Paternity of her aborted, I mean MISCARRIED baby?

And that letter is beyond insane. Hello, narcisstic personality disorder!

Well, as a pregnant woman, I'll tell you this: I'm 6 months along, have LOST weight rather than gained during my whole pregnancy, and I STILL look pregnant. I actually look further along than I actually am, so I don't believe for one minute that she could go to the seventh month with no one suspecting or finding out that she was "pregnant" - it's not possible. It's not like she was 15 or 16, pregnant with her first child. I'm 31, pregnant with my second. I didn't start showing with the 1st until 6 months (I'm also a larger lady), but I started showing with this one at around 4 months. I literally popped out overnight. So her story holds no water, or amniotic fluid, for me at all.

WTF! The woman barely speaks English, how does she know words in Norse? Didn't CBJ have the decency to tell this foolish couple that Tri G is an alternate name for Trisomy 21? I mean, what are the chances that the next boy name they loved, after a sporting event, happened to be a shortened version of Trisomy G, the defect that causes the baby's mental retardation?

There is no end to the bat shit crazy that defines this woman. Psychosis indeed. And these days it appears like full blown mania. "Next thing I knew, it was 7 months?" That's a LONG time to keep a secret. And so convenient too that that 7 months was up just in time for McCain to win Super Tuesday. Wow, how did that happen! Thanks for typing one for the team. She's a nut job and you have to do what you have to do to stop her. Thank you!

The word "push" seems to be a Sarah Palin favorite. Mudflats is posting a quote from Sarah's book (p.102) in which Sarah described how she "pushed past the tall cottonwood trees in a euphoric cadence." (No, I'm not makin' it up, she wrote it, at least Lynn Vincent did).

Above, we learn that Track pushed through his challenges.

Sarah also talked about a door openin' just a crack and she would push on through. I think that she chooses this language to show that she he fearless, brave, and also (maybe like GWB) unthinking, to boldly go where no man has gone has before.

Every once in awhile, I see all of this from an outside perspective, like from the perspective of someone who has been in a coma for 5-10 years, or the "me" of 5-10 years ago, suddenly plopped down into 2009. And it hits me how insane everything about $P is! Not only does *she* seem insane, but it's insane that so many believe her stories unquestionly, that many others simply don't think it possible for someone to lie like her, that she has reached a level of significance in our country that she can influence national politics and MAY have a chance of becoming the GOP presidential candidate....I am just flabbergasted. I am beginning to lose more and more hope that all of the "truths" abotu $P will EVER come to light!

Abortion. Again. Was Piper an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy?

Ok, that letter shows Palin has a profound rejection for special needs individuals, but since she would be proclaiming one as her own, she had to make him perfect.

If she can think like God, then she can certainly go through all the steps and emotions she describes on her her story. She can even convince Todd that they conceived Trig telepatically.

Thanks for sounding the dog whistle, Gryphen, for those who haven't waded through the book as I have. I shook my head again when $P notes that Track "has an appreciation for the most valuable resource God gives us--time--and time is limited. He doesn't like to waste it." Sounds like ADHD to me.

Also, how up to date is CBJ to tell $P before the sonogram that her risk of DS is "one in eighty," when even Wikipedia told me in seconds that it was one in 25?

And writing in the name of G-d is just nuts. I don't care who does it. It looks like the frivolous lawsuits that get thrown out all the time, like this selection from the District of Columbia court system from the Biscuitbarrel Archives: "For disrespecting me and the Teachings of Christ, I hereby sue Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority for $1,000,000 (ONE MILLION DOLLARS)..."

  19. I've had 4 miscarriages and 2 live births. There is no way my doctors would have considered any of my pregnancies anything but high risk - and I was in my 20's and in excellent health.

My water broke at 2cc dilation. They had to induce labor because once the water has broken, the risk of infection is very high. The fact that labor continued another 24 hours caused huge problems, so if she was leaking at 4am and had the baby that evening, then at work, what, the next day? or the day after? And the baby wasn't in neonatal intensive care (with mom by his side) is bizarre. After all, he was a month early and with Down Syndrome.

ps - ultrasound techs or xray techs are not allowed to say a word about what they find during their exam. there is no way SP would have been told the baby had a thick neck by the person doing her ultrasound.

When I read the headline of her announced "secret" pregnancy, I said to myself, "bitch!" but bit in the way I say it now. You see, I was three months pregnant - recovering from an 11 week miscarriage five months before. I pretty much kept that first trimester weight. This not being my first child or pregnancy, I showed a lot sooner than my first pregnancy. So, I was jealous that she looked pretty damn good for a third trimester mother of four who was 10 years older than me.

That miscarriage made my husband and I deeply protective of our next baby and even without explicit Doctor's orders, we all damn well know I wouldn't be travelling past my second trimester - I missed a sibling's wedding for godzake!

She CLAIMS profusely that she loved thus baby more than anything, momma-bears had NOTHING on her! Bullshit. She wouldn't have gone to Dallas if any of this were true, any organization, foundation, dignitary around would respect a cancellation under these circumstances. She is a pandering, scheming, arrogant, bible-beating Ugly American that is a threat to civil, cultural and personal freedoms, because I am afraid to turn my back on her followers. Yes, I do believe these people will hurt you given the circumstances.

Does Mercedes know why that facebook disappeared from the internet? Does she have more photos taken that day?

Seems like the answers to the above might clear up some confusion.

Track Palin Involved in Vandalism Rampage - Real Reason for Army Enlistment

Sarah Palin has not been afraid to emphasize that her oldest son Track has joined the Army and will soon be sent to Iraq. While commentators have questioned her ethics for trying to use her son’s military service for political advantage, there are now concerns Gov. Palin may have also concealed the true reason behind her son’s hasty enlistment, something which would put him in a less than flattering light.

There are now allegations that her son Track was involved in a vandalism rampage a couple of years earlier and that his run-in with the law contributed to his decision to enlist in the Army.

On December 5, 2005, the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman reported that Alaska State Troopers had arrested four teenage boys for the previous week’s vandalism of school buses. The boys deflated the tires of 44 buses, broke mirrors and unplugged 110 buses from their engine-block heaters, which caused the buses not to start in subzero weather. The incident was serious enough to force the school district to close schools for a day on November 29.

One of the boys was identified as 18-year-old Deryck Harris. State troopers refused to release the names of the 3 other boys, ages 16, 17, and 17, because they were juveniles. However, the mother of one of the juvenile suspects confirmed her son David Coon was involved in the incident. Two of the boys, including Coon, attended Burchell High School. The other two were students at Wasilla High School.

The boys were each charged with third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. In addition, the 16-year-old was also charged with fourth-degree theft and furnishing alcohol to a minor. He was alleged to have stolen a bottle of vodka from a local liquor store.

A progressive Alaska radio station (Newstalk 1080 Kudo) reported on September 2, 2008 that the 16-year-old boy in the story was actually Track Palin.

"Todd was out of town on the day of the appointment, so I visited the geneticist alone--through the back door, under my maiden name."
Unless this is a very old timey office they would have asked for a photo id and make a copy of it for their records.
When was the last photo id of Sarah with her maiden name on it?
Unless she had a fake id handy already.

So if Sarah went under a false name, it would have kept the medical information gained off of her insurance records.
But also would have made transferring that information back to her primary physician impossible. So her primary physician would not have knows that there was, in fact, a confirmed Down Syndrome pregnancy, until after the delivery.
Unless the primary physician was in cahoots in falsifying a patient's records! Which could cost that physician her license.

  25. Question for Kyra, other moms, and especially medical professionals:
What are the odds that a DS baby, a month premature, would be sent home from hospital (a day after birth) and NOT be in a neo-natal unit for even a day?
And, if his DS was not apparent at birth, HOW did Willow spot it on day 1?

Wait - so when you say they are reinforcing the meme that certain early photos does not look like the baby has Down Syndrome, are you saying that there was a baby born by "person 1" in the early photos (we know it's not Sarah) and was swapped out for a Down Syndrome baby born by "person 2"? She AND Todd are seriously crazy. I lump him in with her for all the shit she gets away with and how poorly THEIR children are parented by both of them.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that if the child known as Trig is not Bristol's, Sarah really did adopt a prop. I can't believe her god-fearing fundies would continue to support her then.

  29. I think I need to clarify why I added Track's enlistment story to this post. I really don't care why Track join the military, and I hope that he comes out safely. The only reason I included it is that it is yet another example of how thick Palin lays it on when she is trying to revise history.

I have heard how wild Track was before he enlisted from almost a dozen different sources. The fact that he was one of the kids involved in the bus incident is accepted by almost everybody. (The last time I heard confirmation, it was between two residents of Wasilla who were discussing that the person identified as being WITH Track was wrong, but that everybody knew Track was involved.)

But even if all of that were incorrect, it is an absolute certainty that Palin's version of the events is false. And when does Sarah lay it on he thickest? When she is covering something up.

I had a friend who "borrowed" a guitar from the music room at our high school to play for a girl he liked at her house. He only took it for about an hour, but it got him arrested. He was given the choice of going to jail or enlisting. He enlisted in the Marines, and it really turned his life around. He was a much better guy after he served his four years.

However when his mother explained why he enlisted she simply said "he had screwed up, and it was the best thing that could have happened to him."

Lot's of parents could simply say that, and not feel the need to create some perfect little story of patriotism. But not Sarah. She has to use it to send a signal to American military families who buy her book, that her family is so super-patriotic that her eldest could not wait to enlist.

But Track is going to be fine, it is Trig that I am the most concerned about. Because even though Sarah seems to use everybody in her family to further her political agenda, that may be Trig's sole purpose in her eyes.

"I delivered Trig Paxson Van Palin into the world at the Mat-Su regional Medical Center"

She was in Dallas, with its many outstanding hospitals. Parkland is the teaching hospital for Southwestern Medical School. A 999 bed hospital with all of the latest high-tech medicine available. It delivers around 100 babies every day.
But she takes her complicated delivery and damaged fetus, that is delivering 5 weeks early, to a 74 bed regional hospital 2000 miles away.
There is nothing wrong with rural hospitals. I’ve worked in one. The ER and nursing staff were terrific. But they send complicated patients to the nearest city hospital because there is more expertise and more high tech equipment. And that small city hospital sends patients to an even bigger city’s bigger hospital or all the way to Boston.
Sarah did the exact opposite of what medical professionals would have done. She down graded the care of her child.

Sarah preaches "commonsense approach." This is her example of a common sense approach to caring for her unborn child.

When the story of Sarah's amniocentisis was first posted, I read about the procedure. Sarah's account and the on-line descriptions are at odds with each other.

The person performing the amnio has to be a skilled ob doctor. There is a sonogram at the same time to determine the location of the baby. A needle is inserted into the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby. This part requires skill, so as not to poke the baby. Sarah's doctor had little experience in this field. She only delivered three babies one year??

So, the patient would be sent to an ob doctor. The other on-line advice warned against infection, cramping and a chance of miscarriage. The patient is told to be sure to have a ride home, and to plan on spending the rest of the day just resting. Sarah's version has her driving herself (from Wasilla to Anchorage and back again, if I am not mistaken), and no one accompanies her (at least she doesn't mention anyone coming with her). That's not tough, that's foolish.

The geneticist may or may not be a medical doctor. His/her job is to analyze the material found in the amniotic fluid. The fluid is cultured, and the baby's chromosomes are studied under a microscope. This is where the extra chromosome would show itself.

Geneticists serve an important function in advising a couple about the risk of certain birth defects, particularly if there is a family history to consider. They study the chromosomes for abnormalities like DS and others as well. What is interesting is that is where Sarah went for the test, but it was Dr.CBJ who got the results and discussed them with Sarah. Why didn't the geneticist discuss the results with Sarah??? That's his/her field.

There are too many pieces in her story that just don't make sense. Someone may have had the amnio done, even sneaked in the back door and used another name. Maybe Trig's mother used another name when she was hospitalized to give birth. Or, perhaps she elected a home birth, and if Trig came early or with complications, he needed to be hospitalized (under a different name).

Sarah has unwittingly opened a door when she described sneaking in a back door and using her maiden name to avoid detection. That description would apply to the prenatal checkups for which ever woman was going to give birth to Trig.

She is so clueless about Down Syndrome. She writes in her letter as though Trig will always be this cute cuddly little boy.I have a good friend with a DS son who is now in his 20,s.He was adorable as a child,I will never forget him pouring me a glass of lemonade to be nice by reaching over my shoulder and dumping the pitcher full in the direction of my glass!! He was cute, and cuddly, but as he became a teen he became strong and demanding, wanting to do things himself and his way.He was frustrated a lot.He wanted to live away from home like his sisters did,and would throw tantrums about it.His mom and dad found an assisted living facility where he could live nearby,he had a little job at a supermarket bagging groceries when his health was ok,and a small SSDI check. His parents footed the bill for the apartment to the tune of about $3000 per month. His dad was unable to retire, their life savings were gone, his mom went back to work to help at 66 years old. Then his dad died from a stroke. His life insurance helped, but after 2 years now,it is gone, his mom is still working in her 70's now,his sisters contribute too.His mom says the best thing she can do for her son now is to die so he can have her life insurance,a much larger policy than her husband was able to get. Its very sad,but you know, everyone loves Mikey a lot.Love is great, but its not always enough. Can you imagine tiny little Sarah wrestling with an adult Trig to kepp him from going out in the winter cold while underdressed,or trying to get him to do something he does not want to do? She needs to be laying the groundwork now for Trigs ability to live as an adult years from now.The biggest tragedy about DS children is that they so often outlive the one or two people in the world who can care for them and who can handle the bad times that come with the good.Plans need to be in place years ahead of time.I am sure that Sarah just assumes that Bristol or Willow will care for him when she is gone, but caring for a large, strong adult man with the emotional age and self control of a preschooler is a far cry from babysitting a sweet little boy.
If only it was true that she loved him as much as she says!!Of course,if it was true, she woulnt spend so much time talking about it,she would be doing it.

  38. Anonymous5:39 PM

According to Sarah, Trig came a month early, had DS, required light therapy, had a hole in his heart. Yet, despite all of this, Sarah brought a baby with this description to her office to see all of her co-workers when he was three days old.

I was at an event recently, and a new mother had her 10 week old baby with her in one of those baby-sling-things. She brushed away all of the hands that wanted to touch the baby. Hers was a perfectly healthy baby with no issues, and she was more careful than Sarah.

Too many details in Sarah's baby narrative just do not make sense. The baby that was brought to the office at 3 days old (and was held, photographed with the Heath's) had big fat puffy cheeks, not likely the look of a baby born 5-6 weeks early.

I read somewhere in the last couple of days that Sarah said that Trig's heart had closed up.

There were very likely multiple sonograms performed during her pregnancy to keep track of the development of the fetus. So there was a probability that problems with the chambers or valves of the heart would have shown up.

That makes her willingness to bypass dozens of top ranked hospitals in Dallas and Seattle, to make sure that she delivered in a small regional hospital that probably had no capacity to deal with a premature baby with underdeveloped lungs, due to the premature deliver, and a malfunctioning heart, unbelievably reckless.

In an interview soon after the "birth" of Trig, Sarah says

"Two mornings ago. Yeah. He got to drive down real quick and spent a couple of hours getting to see his baby brother. He brought a couple of soldier friends with him, a couple who had never held a newborn before so that was kind of fun, seeing these big tough soldiers holding this itty bitty baby in their arms and they just thought it was really special, really neat. So the 5-week premature underdeveloped lungs hole-in-the-heart baby got held by Track's soldier friends.

That is absolutely false, KUDO did not "report" this. It was an anonymous caller to the Cary Carrigan show who made these allegations.

I know this because when I heard it, the thought occurred to me that something like that could get the radio station in trouble if it's wasn't handled properly by the host.

Once again the author of this blog is using poorly sourced information and reporting it as fact.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit that Track may have taken part in some or all of the activities that are alleged, we're talking teenagers in Wasilla after all, but until you can prove it with a witness statement, photos, video, inconclusive proof other than a dozen or so nameless people talking about it, then you haven't done a thing except stoop to Sarah Palin's level.

This does not mean progressives or non-Christian folk would ever implement forced abortions of 'less-than-ideal' fetuses for gods sake, the nerve of this judgemental woman who abuses Choice.

But she likes to say rediculous and irresponsible things like, The World Needs More Trigs! (as long as there is a free market health care, families will have to work to their graves to care for the mighty Trig population.)

    Regarding the medical records:

We all know that this saga is likely a bunch of hoo-ey anyway, but a few clarifications about alleged HIPAA violations:

Gryphen: HIPAA allows for care practitioners to share information with each other for TREATMENT, payment and health care operations. If CBJ was the referring physician it is common practice to send test reports back to them. So the amnio results get sent to CBJ who then calls the patient. Nurses also commonly contact patients about follow-up appointments or next steps, no HIPAA problem.

Anon 4:36: Celebrity/VIP/high profile patients often check in under assumed names (and could be designated as confidential status). She was the sitting Governor after all. Also, there is nothing about the confidential name or HIPAA that would prevent the primary physician (CBJ) from receiving the test results. Again, health care providers can share patient information with each other for TREATMENT, payment and health care operations. The patient can even take a copy of their own record & show to another physician.

Anon 5:12: Health practitioners can certainly talk with patients about their own care and situation since HIPAA allows that for TREATMENT, payment and health care operations.
The sonogram tech divulging findings may well have been a policy and SCOPE OF PRACTICE violation, but it is NOT a HIPAA violation. The tech didn’t even diagnose—he/she simply stated an observation.

Anon 5:44: AMEN ! Thank you. The medical people will not (and should not) betray her medical privacy. There are other (legal) ways for information can come out.

When someone sues SP, then something becomes a criminal matter, then records can then be subpoenaed. Or if there is a public health/ security matter, etc……..

The fact that Palin was the size of a side of a barn her first pregnancy (photo exists), for her to NOT SHOW for what would be according to her, her 7th pregnancy - not going to happen.

Any chance of not showing would be the first. The fetus can work it's way up under the ribs and you would not have a clue the person was pregnant. I have a friend who at 8 months, 1st baby, is still wearing her normal size 6 clothes due to baby positioned herself and figure about 6 lbs.(she disgusts me - size 6 clothes!! LOL) After that, the uterus has been stretched and muscles don't have the same ability, elasticity.

Some others have mentioned it too - the fact he had a hole in his heart and premature. I don't know for sure, but Mat-Su having the ability to deal with that with specialists and equipment?? as it could have been a problematic delivery for the baby. They would have known of this heart condition prior to delivery. To be released and back at work with this fragile baby when he was 3 days old - Palin's talking like she's the only one that's every delivered a baby, more particularly a special needs baby.

After the amnio, why was she so surprised at the DS as supposedly she had been told by the Tech about the neck before and it was after that that the amnia appointment was set up.

I seem to recall her story recall on I think Oprah was different than the book. I thought sonogram was done out of town too.

Also the fact of the letter from God.
    The first paragraph:
"I've heard your prayers that this baby will be happy and healthy, and I've answered them because I only want the best for you!"

As she was supposedly writing this after amnio, she knew the baby was DS. Her sentence sets out they prayed for healthy and God answered them because he/she only wanted the best for you.

I don't hear her ranting at God, as the baby was not healthy and she already knew. She blames everyone else for her lies, failures, shortcomings, etc., so as she wrote this as God, why wasn't she pissed at him/her.

Add to that the being daddy's little buddy who will play a goalie. Really? She already had the diagnosis of DS and knew nothing about it then and in fact seems to know not much more now.

So in fact her writing sounds like if was from a previous pregnancy - if at all.

Seems to also be a major change from the dialogue of the book of her consulting with Track on a number of things wherein her interviews verbally or in print have always referred to Todd. At no other time until the book has she said Track. Add to that, what does a 19 year old know when you take into consideration the education, the trouble, etc.

  63. I'm stunned that she included the fake letter from God. I would've thought she would want to keep her delusions of Messianic grandeur a secret until the Final Hour.

Holy shit, does Satan have a hold on this woman. Psycho, psycho, psycho. God help us all.

Jula ~~~~~~ When someone sues SP, then something becomes a criminal matter, then records can then be subpoenaed. Or if there is a public health/ security matter, etc……..

May that be soon! It is about time. They all need to go down with her or it will be an example of how to enable BIG TIME CRIMINALS.

The Creator should sue her for forgery. ;)

Gryphen...I thought Track was out of the military now???
She will never tell the truth about anything...
Is he out or still in? Will he go back to Iraq?
    Or was he even there?

Why didn't she get someone in her clsoe circle to buy a test for her? She could have asked one of her male assistants and he'd have kept quiet (what about Bitney or Baily? ROTFLMAO!) and she could have taken the test anywhere she wanted.

She doesn't have a husband and she uses Track as a replacement.

I knew a mother like that.
It was psychologically sexual also. The boy/man had to stay away from her. That only worked 10-15 years. She used illness and guilt. He lost his career, wife and mind eventually. It is a no win for poor Track, he will never find the balls to survive her curse.

If any healthcare professional is afraid of reporting this hoax because of a HIPAA violation, thay are sadly mistaken.
You would think that someone in that hospital would have the courage to stand up to this monstrosity. Wasilla, and anyone who is afraid of her or her minions, stand up or take your place in the legion of cowards.

So tight-wad Sarah had amnio and paid for it herself rather than having her insurance pay for it, just so she could lie about her name and cover up a pregnancy she claims she had no intention of aborting anyway? WTF?

  71. Thank you for this post, Gryphen.

I'd seen a disturbing paragraph or 2 before that I thought was the complete 'Trig's Letter'. The whole letter is beyond stunning.

I'm surprised to learn from Sarah that only Todd and the girls were nearby for the birth, given Chuck Heath's boast to Esquire that he was there when Trip 'popped out'.

Regarding fraud: yes, in case of a criminal matter (including fraud), HIPAA allows the medical records to be released as part of the investigation & the whistle blower is fine.

However, my points are that a). there is some general confusion on what HIPAA allows or doesn’t allow and b) when there is a criminal matter the whistle blower needs to go to AUTHORITIES who will handle the release. There are many bloggers who keep egging medical personnel on to release records publically or discuss with reporters and that WOULD get them in trouble. Tell authorities & let them handle it.

I find her references to Track in her book quite telling. She speaks of him like he's the only trusted confidant she has and that his advice and opinion is the most valued. If Track says it's ok then it's ok. Very weird even though he is her firstborn.

I came across this blog the other day. It's about a little girl named Caydence Bristol that was born one month early with down syndrome. She has a hole in her heart, wears oxygen and her young parents chronicle her journey. Very touching blog and beautiful child, but ironically this little babes entrance to the world sounds similiar to little Trigs (minus the wild ride of course) all the same medical challenges.

I think just a quick peek at the blog shows the great contrast in size and care. She is a beatiful little babe and her parents of course are thrilled to have her. In fact the Mother says after having lost a previous babe mid-pregnancy there wasn't an ounce of disappointment at her diagnosis of DS because they were just happy to have a child that survived. The blog shows a very loved little babe.

You might note as you go further into that blog on the little babe that when she was just a month or two old and still quite little and still on oxygen, etc. she was already starting therapy and having evaluations done for things not relating to her heart condition but rather her DS.

It makes you wonder how all this is being done for a baby that is never in the same place twice.

Therew is no information about the miscarriages in the health letter when snarah was running for VP, a complete medical history includes live birth and miscarriages. . .these miscarriages are important in a health record. . .

  77. Interesting about all the Track references in the book, considering as others have pointed out that in the past, it was always Todd who was the one who advised $P and served as trusted confidant. Maybe things are no longer so great with Todd, and Sarah is giving away more than she thinks in now promoting Track as the one who helps her in all of her decision...

  78. Joe Christmas: what, exactly is SP's babygate fraud, legally?

I believe faking a pregnancy is unethical in the extreme, but not against the law. I am guessing Trig was adopted through that church, which would eliminate insurance fraud. SP did not take maternity leave, so no fraudulent time reporting there. I would guess she has the basic fraud bases covered on babygate. But not of course the enormous ethical violations of myriad kinds, which I don't believe HIPAA cares about.

I am also guessing that the death-by-arson of Dar Miller is thought by some in Wasilla (rightly or wrongly) as having resulted from her knowledge about the Mat-Su NICU via professional gossip as a well-connected former NICU nurse, and that perhaps she was about to talk. If there is indeed that suspicion (again, whether it is a valid or invalid suspicion) among those who know something in Wasilla, I am guessing that a person would choose to remain silent, as even YOU might do, Joe Christmas, if you were in that situation, had family to protect, etc. So I am in sympathy with those who know the details and their reluctance to say anything. After all, the MSM is doing the same thing!

And if I were holding some interesing piece of info, I would also wonder about the legal bureaucracy's lines of force up there in Wasilla regarding Sherry Johnston's arrest for selling a small amount of Oxy to a paid informer, having to serve in jail for 3 mo because her phone bill wasn't paid up soon enough, and now missing Thanksgiving with her family due to some other legal technicality. I would be worried about that if I were about to reveal something, esp if it was something important. That's what makes Levi's stance pretty darn courageous.

I would also be thinking about Trooper Wooton's life story.

Am I missing something, Joe Christmas?

The picture posted in this article (I think it's dated March 14th ?) has always been the nail in the coffin for me at least. But I think it's even better to post the entire photo as well as the close-up. Because I think
that Sean Parnell HAD TO BE complicit in this deception. Especially after
reading that he is present in the 'Miss Sarah being prayed over' video with Reverend Muthree. It's obvious that he is continuing Miss Sarah's administration, since almost all of her appointees are still firmly in place and misfunctioning.

There are lies of commission (as in Miss Sarah saying she was pregnant
and how telling is it that in her book she says 'I LAUGHED OUT LOUD'
when all eyes went to her belly, doesn't get much more in your face than that) and there are lies of omission (as in knowing she was not pregnant but not saying anything). Both are admissable in a court of law, although in general lies of omission are harder to prove. But how anyone could stand next to that woman and fail to notice the total lack of a baby bump is beyond me.

  80. mommom: I see very few people discussing what you have just posted, but I bet every woman who is pregnant with a DS baby thinks all of it through. This does not of course include our dear SP because she was not pregnant with Trig.

It's so easy to say "I choose life," but unless one is prepared to address the issues you described so well, mommom -- address them even after your death for the duration of your DS child's life, then you are just abdicating responsibility for the huge care-taking job that your DS child will require.

I remember reading a interview Sarah gave stating when she did arrive at the hospital she was induced. That means her labor had either stalled completely or she was having very weak contractions. Either way it makes a woman more high risk than Sarah was already. I still don't understand how her family doctor would deliver a baby she knew to have DS with a hole in his heart to a mother of advanced maternal age. I work as a OB nurse, everyone of my colleagues just shake their heads at this.

My guess on the saved pregnancy test was because Sarah had not told Todd she was pregnant. She wanted Todd to believe that she had just discovered the pregnancy. Therefore, she packed it up and took it home with her.

I am betting Todd is sitting back in Wasilla going through Sarah's journals and has discovered a lot more interesting details. With two teenage girls in the house (perhaps even Levi has read some of them), those journals will be read by the girls and Todd.

TMI Sarah. Now everyone knows about the journals and if a legal issue arises.....the writings in these journals may find the light of day. Hope so.

    "I LAUGHED OUT LOUD"
Sarah certainly does seem to confuse herself with Abraham's wife, "Sarah," a lot, doesn't she?
Maybe on purpose to appeal to her wingnut readership.

    As to Trig's letter:
Can't help but notice that paragraphs 1, 2 & 3 refer consistently to you and your. Then, abruptly, paragraph 4 changes to, "Then, I finally let Trig's mom and dad find out before he was born that this little boy will truly be a GIFT."

Some of us didn't just fall off the back of a turnip truck, Mr. and Mrs. Palin. The change of person in this letter makes it obvious that the child, who is named Trig Paxson Van Palin was a "gift" to you from his biological mother and father. Otherwise, don't you think that "G-d" probably would have continued the fourth paragraph of "His" letter: Then I finally let "you" find out before he was born..."

You gave yourself away in this "letter from
G-d," Sarah--you simply gave yourself away.

Gee, for someone who cries "sexist" as her pastime and occupation, she sure does rely on the aide and "expertise" of men a lot. Oh, Track said this, Track said that. Track was in Iraq and in the army and not around, and, according to you, Sarah, not a Republican, so if you were going to confide in one of your children and go to them for advice, why wouldn't you ask Bristol? Hmm...because you're a...SEXIST!!!! Can't wait to see if she says anything about Glenn Beck..
