SHORT TIMER? . . . It's gone viral in watering spots around town. Still more a question than certifiable fact: Is Magnum Staplegun out with Sarah? There's no sign of her on the book tour and friends say she may have to stake out a spot under that high-centered bus where Sarah tosses people who have served their purpose. The above comes from Sheila Toomey, of the Alaska Ear. (You will be hearing much more about her when Celtic Diva finishes going through her pile of e-mails.)
Some of you may remember that I mentioned in the comments section a rumor that I had been told that one of Palin's closest female associates was suffering such serious depression that there was some concern of suicide.
Though the source is very close to Palin, I only heard it second hand so could not ask WHICH female associate it was. However my first instinct was that it was Meg.
According to my source this associate had been the victim of verbal abuse by Sarah multiple times and she simply hated her job, and her life. Now I have no idea if the person they were referring to was Meg, but I do know that she seems to have been replaced by, Harper Collins flunky, Tina Andreadis, and that even before that she had been quiet for a number of weeks.
All I can say is, run Meg. Run as fast as you can and never look back. You can have your old life back, and be surrounded by sanity, instead of Palin insanity. Just go towards the light Meg, go towards the light. We are waiting for you here on the other side.

It's pretty heavy, though, for someone to believe so deeply in a person and their future (and her own place in it), and then come to the conclusion that the person was not who she thought she was. This would be a case study in what happens to a Palin fanatic when they finally face the truth about her.

It was something to the effect that Meg would do anything to impress whomever was her boss at the time. It certainly looks like she did her utmost to demonstrate her value to SP, and if she is kicked to the curb now, she might need a new master to impress before she tells what she knows.

ReplyDeleteI had a boss like Scarah, personable and loved by customers, hated, feared, and loathed by her employees. I had to quit to keep my sanity and self-esteem. I feel sorry for Meg. Scarah will have Meg drawn and quartered before long.
There is absolutely nothing inconsistent about Gryphen's attitude toward Meg Stapleton. It's all of a piece, you see. I think many of us recognize that being in Sarah Palin's bubble means being brain-washed to a significant degree, and so we have some compassion for this. Maybe the fog has lifted for her. That's all Gryphen was pointing out, and humorously so, I might add, though I am sure Gryphen also feels just a little sorry for her like many of us do.

My eyes were opened to the disfunction when I saw a clip of Meg and SP entering a hotel and Meg was schleping all the bags, walking 5 steps behind the Queen. I feel sorry for her too, if it is Meg. Meg had to cover up all of those missed appearances, making excuses like "we never confirmed." Obviously, the Reagan Library women thought it was confirmed, as did others.

Yep, I suffered at the hands of an abusive boss for years. It was a sick relationship in which he abused me - verbally, in writing, with the sh!t assignments he gave me, down-rated me in reviews - the more he abused me, the harder I tried to please him, because I was desperate to not lose my job. He even "doctored" his notes of our meetings on his blackberry. I began very blatantly and in great detail documenting our meetings - as he talked, I wrote down everything he said. He got the message at least as meetings went, and finally got tranferred, but not before irreparably damaging what had been a great career. I eventually quit. So my point is, I can see how someone who is trying desperately to please someone they admire can become despondent when they are no longer needed. But, in Stapleton's case, I think this is her karmic pay-back.

I'm sorry but I can't feel one ounce of sympathy nor empathy if it is indeed Meg. It's not as though Meg walked into this job clueless about Sarah's behavior. Plus the fact that Meg added to the damage Palin did by covering and knowingly lying. I've seen and been a recipient of that kind of damage. Nope, not in this day and age will I give any politician's minion a pass. Meg isn't 9 years old and knows /knew better.
Sometimes in life you truly do get what you deserve and it's not always a pleasant offering. If that sounds cold, tough. I have learned in my nearly 60 years on this planet that there are certain people that should never be trusted. Even after they get hammered by the person they sold their soul to they too often still never understand why. There are those who never regain their clear vision. They may remain blind for life and instead of seeing the so-called light, ask themselves what they did wrong. It's much easier to play the victim than to have to stand before those you damaged and admit the part you played. Even harder when it finally (if ever) dawns on that individual that possibly some of the greatest damage done was to themselves but the understanding still evades them.

Meg came across VERY badly in some of her statements and TV interviews here in Anchorage and I suspect will have a very difficult time in securing new employment in Alaska. She's travelled all over the country, sure, but only to the deepest of red areas. She will not speak to press. She will not take a question. She will not have anyone in her line that has not been pre-screened. She will not set foot in any area that might not be blood red. Yet even in Utah she left early -- not enough fans wanting her signature. She has made no inroads what-so-ever. I don't understand why anyone would expect Meg to be part of the book tour. Isn't she employed by SarahPAC? I don't think HC would pay for her to be there, plus her presence would make the book tour overtly political.

I just thought it would be 'over the top' political to pay Meg to be on the tour and a reasonable explanation for why she wasn't there...beside a falling out.

I remember thinking that Meg CLEARLY implied that Palin wanted McDonnell and MC DONNELL did NOT want Palin! It was shocking to see Meg admit that. It made Palin look really, REALLY BAD.
Even the Freepers were saying how awful/incompetent Meg was to imply that Palin was SNUBBED.
This was the last I heard from Meg - am I right? Is this when Meg got "sent to her room" aka under the bus?
Can anyone remember hearing from Meg after this fiasco in mid-October?
Sarah wouldn't have her employees sign a confidentiality clause?
ReplyDeleteFor the person questioning why Meg would be on the book tour because she works for SarahPac - HELLO, the buses are plastered all over with ad for SarahPac, $carah's official photographer is from SarahPac, proceeds from photos go to SarahPac. I thought the pre-tour PR talked about Meg being on the bus with Diva too.

Is Meg depressed because she isn't on the bus....or is she off the bus because she's depressed? I think this story has some potential legs.

Ella, I agree, but surely Meg wasn't issuing any of the stupid press releases by herself. Had to have orders about what Sistah Scarah wanted to say. She gets to be the scapegoat cuz the queen wouldn't ever do anything so dumb would she?

Not going to happen. Meg & Sarah are buddies, and even though a great many of Sarah's buddies end up under the bus, I doubt seriously that Meg will be one of them.
Meg may not be on the tour because she is busy elsewhere. We do have that "Pie Sky" deal to watch for, plus the supposed new organization called "Stand Up For Your Nation", and hasn't it been reported that Sarah followers are congregating in Fairbanks?
I'm willing to bet that Meg is just busy elsewhere and that is why we have not heard from her recently.
Maybe The Ear is full of it. It wouldn't be the first time.

Maybe the person who is depressed is Kristan Cole, founder of the Alaska Fund Trust? It was deemed illegal and yet the fund site is still up. She promised regular reportings of how much money cam in and what was being spent. Not a peep.

Do you really think it is necessary to remark on and attack a person because you don't like her face? I am not a fan of Meg, but if you are going to criticize her, then please do so because of her words and actions, which should be the focus of our discontent. Snidely remarking about her "mug" and saying she should have gotten plastic surgery is offensive, unfair, unwarranted, and just plain "mean girl" attitude.
Isn't it possible that Meg reached her limit and that she could not, any longer, bring herself to be the mouthpeice for Palin's fraud and lies?

I wish I could be as generous as many of you Alaskans blogging here. I'm glad that Meg is removing herself from the shroud that is Sarah Palin, but I think she needs to go far, far away from Alaska and only come back as a paying tourist.

ReplyDeleteIf your source is the same as the one who provided you with tip of the iceberg, imminent indictment and pending divorce, then you'd best find a new source. Making a roundabout claim that Meg Stapleton is about commit suicide borders on bat guano.
As for Meg's looks, she's attractive enough despite someone else's unnecessary snark. People need to stop making such misogynistic comments about women's appearances. I've read it about AKM, Shannyn Moore, Palin and now Stapleton. It's unnecessary regardless of how much we may like or dislike the woman as issue. Focus on the substance instead of the crapola.
And speaking of substance, G, where is it other than some rumor someone is either creating out of thin air or passing on 5th-hand?
