Republicans consider candidate's comparison to Sarah Palin to be "sexist" and degrading".

A Republican Party leader blasted a Democratic official Thursday for what she called “sexist” and “degrading” remarks about State Representative and congressional hopeful Jaime Herrera.

On Tuesday, Washington State Democratic Party chairman Dwight Pelz compared Herrera to former Alaska Gov. and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Pelz said Herrera is “Palinesque” and called her “long on style, short of substance.”

“It’s disgraceful that the moment a female minority candidate comes on the scene, Democrats pounce on the opportunity to demean and belittle her,” according to a statement released by GOP National Committeewoman Fredi Simpson. “As a Hispanic female, I am shocked at Chairman Pelz’s recent sexist and degrading remarks about a fellow Hispanic female’s looks, while disregarding her intelligence.”

Gee do you mean the Republicans don't want to be compared to a whiny, ignorant, failed politician? Why ever not?

I keep hearing that the Teabagger movement is becoming bigger than the Republican party, but if that is true what will having Sarah Palin as their de facto leader do to any chances they may have had of establishing a legitimate third party?

Will they use her as a blueprint for choosing candidates? "Look we will only back you if you promise to have no legitimate knowledge of the issues, that you dress like a whore, and that, if elected, you quit right around the middle of your term. Agreed?"

Well it is pretty obvious that the Republican party is flat done with Palin.

Simpson continued: “Obviously, the Chairman and his Democrat Party feel threatened by this accomplished young woman and need to resort to childish antics of name-calling to distract from the real issues.

"Childish name calling"? Is the Sarah Palin brand really that disgusting to them? Even the Democrats seem a little surprised at their response.

In an interview Thursday, Pelz said, “I stand by my comparison. Jaime Herrera is a political novice and a right-wing Republican, and I think she has a lot in common with Sarah Palin.”

Pelz also said: “I compared her to Sarah Palin, and the Republican Party apparently thinks that’s an insult, so they must not think much of Sarah Palin.”

This is pretty bad news for Palin. But hey, at least she still has her marri......oh.....well at least she still has her good loo......oh yeah.........well she still has the love of her chil........oops. Yeah, well she still has the crazy fringe sending her their cookie jar money through SarahPAC, and she still has RAM writing her Facebook rants, so I guess things could always be worse.

I mean what if your ex-campaign manager, ex-legislative aide, and daughter's ex-boyfriend were all writing tell all books about yo.......oh.....damn.....you really are screwed Sarah.

Update: Not to pile on this morning but another of Palin's lies from "Going Rogue" has come to light. Remember that assertion in her book that Willow had been threatened with gang rape by fellow students in Juneau? Guess who has never heard of that.

  2. For those who have been asking about my post about an incident from years ago about Palin that I promised to put up a few days ago, I AM still planning to post it.

I am hoping to put it up tomorrow, but I lost contact with my source and have to clarify a few details before I can go with it. I cannot promise it will be out on Monday, but I imagine it will be up in the near future.

  3. Pretty bad when the highest official in Alaska doesn't report threats of violence that she considered serious against her children. What kind of message does that send, hmmmmm? IF it REALLY happened, that is, not that I have my doubts.

  4. This is the first time I've heard the rape story. Is Mrs. Palin a bit obsessed with people making menacing sexual threats toward her girls?

"...and the Republican Party apparently thinks that's an insult."

    Nailed It!!!!

Also, too, I really think that Juneau Empire story deserves a post of it's own.

Nice to see the Alaska Press starting to show some skepicism.

Oh, Sarah, Sarah, Sarah...look at the future you are creating for yourself. Your children, as they reach full adulthood, will one-by-one detest you for the public humiliation you have caused them.

Your grandchildren will make every attempt to deny any relationship to you.

Your great grandchildren will erase your name from their heritage.

You may think that you do not care what the majority of the public thinks. You may feel powerful as you revel in the money, fame and attention you are being given at this moment, but know this: One day your very own descendants will do to your name what you did to John McCain's on that visor in Hawaii.

About those supposed threats...I see from the article that Van Fleacollar is playing a cute game of " I wasn't representing Sarah then but I heard it from Toad later" crapola. He damn well knows that's nothing but hearsay, not actionable, so why is he trying to give it any credibility? Geezez, I understand lawyers supporting their clients,(since I'm married to an atty.) but this is complete BS. Just more of the Plain infantile neener, neener, 'cause I said it's true garbage. She really needs to be taken out of the public realm.

It would be great if you made a separate post of the "Willow being threatened story". That's a huge story/lie given that $alin didn't do much to have it investigated or even clue in school officials. What parent, politician or not, doesn't even have a discussion with school officials before pulling the child out of that school due to threats?? Unbelievable.

Agreed - a nice BIG post about both Willow AND Bristol being threatened? And of course, it is SO funny the school knew NOTHING about it.
These things only happen in Sarah's mind.

This reminds us of the Yankee Stadium/Letterman Willow rape allegation. First thought is what did Willow do or say which resulted in these youths making the threat? Like "My mom's a bigger liar than your mom?" Just wondering!

Sarah Palin is Kryptonite to the GOP and they finally are admitting it. Teabaggers, here she comes (and there goes your "momentum").

  17. Basheert9:08 AM

The more Kryptonite the better. She needs to be their "shining star" - and she can go super-nova and take the GOPers down with her.

I don't mind their opposition - it's the rank stupidity that is so sad to watch. We really need to fund our schools a bit better, especially in the Red States. The ignorance is stunning.

    As evidence I offer Anon@8:49.

  18. If it is true that Willow was threatened and mommy dearest didn't follow up on it with the proper authorities - what a horrible feeling for Willow to know that your mom doesn't care.

If she made it up - there is no limit to the disgust I feel for her. WHY would you make up that kind of story about your child??? WHY would you put it in your book? To make people feel sorry for you?

    She is mentally ill.

  21. This is SO Sarah .. the story about her girls at school, that is. Here she is, once again, using her children as props ... this time to show HER persecution .. her concern (if this ever happened) was not for her girls, but for her story. Had she been concerned about the girls (like any normal parent would be) she would have immediately spoken to the school principal. Geez, I've spoken to the school principal in Anchorage schools over far less! Instead of baking cookies, perhaps she could have used the time more wisely making a phone call to the principal! Oh ... but that's not a photo opportunity, is it?

By the way, I agree with everybody else who said that this story should stand on its own.

  25. If this were reported to the schools, a huge investigation would have been launched....the governor's daughters threatened with gang rape, and it was never investigated or reported? Are you kidding me?

Sarah, in honor of your flesh and blood children, please quit makin stuff up, you are causing them long term damage.

  26. Comments starting to appear at the Juneau Empire re the "rape threats" story. The folks in Juneau do not seem to be buying any of it:

Posted by: saltchuck at Dec. 20, 2009 at 2:37:03 pm
"When Palin and family lived here briefly, local kids were invited to the home of their new classmate. Governor Palin always made them uncomfortable by commenting how "cute" and "sexy" the young 14 & 15 year-old boys were. Later, when the eldest daughter began drinking, Palin blamed that on Juneau and vowed to move the kids back to Wasilla. She also accused local residents of trying to muzzle kids playing in the yard and stopping her youngest daughter from selling lemonade to tourists. Palin is a pathological liar who uses stories of her children to advance her twisted social agenda. Good riddance to the lying Quitter Queen."

    ReplyDelete
  27. OK, let's get this straight: Mommy Dearest gets her innocuous email hacked into and that's immediately made into a fast-track federal case--literally....but threats to rape both her daughters at school don't even warrant a call to the principal?

Nice mothering. This absolutely should have its own post, and Mommy Dearest should be held to answer to why she did one of only two possible things: either she couldn't be bothered to report threats of violence against her children, or else she completely made them up.

It's like the Wild Ride: either she didn't bother taking the most minimal possible steps to safeguard her baby's life, or she made up the whole thing.

  28. OT Yesterday, an anon poster here asked someone to find a picture of Curtis C. Menard Jr. When it was posted at Palingates, it ignited a firestorm of speculation.

Dear anon: In case you are still reading here, I wonder if you would care to share with us the reason that you want to see a picture of Menard.

  30. How could Sarah include an account of these threats to her daughters (real, imagined or concocted) in her book? Sane, loving parents don't exploit their children. My disgust is overwhelming.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If your child is threatened, you report it. You call the police. You call the school district. You announce it. You know your child is SAFER if you announce it, because you're telling the public that you're dealing with it publicly, people know, and people are watching the kid and the police are on it. By reporting it, you reduce the risk.

Sarah Palin is such a liar.

  32. I do not know Alaska Child Protective Services Laws, but I cannot imaging that there is any state in which school officials, teachers, medical providers, etc are not mandated reporters. 36. Reposting from Mudflats....

Palin is such a liar – and don’t believe those posters on the Empire article that talk about Juneau in such a negative light. I don’t believe any of them live here – they sound like Palin in their prejudice of Juneau (where the capital is – that’s the only prejudice). Juneau is a charming small town, and I worked with youth here and have had many many friends who work, and have worked, for the school district for the 30 years I’ve lived here. We have problems, but fewer than most and there is absolutely no comparison to the larger schools in Anchorage.

I also have personal knowledge of school districts in nearby, smaller Southeastern town school districts and once again, Juneau is better off than most.

Palin lies and lies and lies and lies. Did you know that she lies? Hey, she lies!

And from reports I heard of Bristol while they were here, she acted often like a brat (no surprise) and Palin cajoled her. In other words, she enabled her daughter to act like a teen brat. She sucks as a parent by any measure.

  38. I sent this letter to the Juneau Empire regarding the whole "gang rape thing"

    Dear Mr. Forgey,

    I am Incredulous

I am from Texas, in an advanced practice medical profession and have followed Alaskan News for the last year or so.

In regards to your article regarding EX governor Palin's allegations of "Gang Rape Threats" made against both her daughters...

I must say I am skeptical of the veracity of this claim. First of all- she is the first to jump down anyone's throat if any perception of insult or threat is in the air. She is extremely vociferous in extending her finger of blame to anyone infringing her space, and to wit- a woman who is relentlessly vindictive if any sort of "injury" or slight is perceived.

I think that this sort of "threat" constitutes a substantial reason to come out with both barrels blazing. But that response was absent from the pit bull with lip stick?

If this is all smoke and fire than the next questions are: Who was harmed, Who benefited, and What damage has been done?

As to who was harmed, the obvious first response would be the children attending the school. Their sense of safety would certainly have been robbed. Her daughter's of course would now have to endure some sort of sense of being the target of gawking, as well as come to grips for perhaps the first time- the obscenity of the painted picture in which they are engrained. The image of the school and it's obviously irresponsible staff would share an equal level of blame and shame. Then come the authorities. How is it they dropped the ball (if there was ever a ball to be dropped in the first place) ?

Who would benefit from this allegation if it was true? No one I can think of...

Who would benefit from this allegation if it were false? Well, Sarah Palin would have an excellent excuse to leave Juneau. Sarah Palin would garner some sympathy from her followers and readers as she would be perceived as the hounded and persecuted troubadour of American rights and Freedoms.

It very much reminds me of Münchhausen's disease ("A type of malingering or factitious disorder in which the patient, usually a vagrant, wander from hospital to hospital, feigning severe illness of dramatic and emergency nature in order to be admitted. The “patient”, always a confabulating, pathologic lyer, may even practice self-mutilation in order to prove pain. Once admitted to a hospital, they usually create havoc by demanding special attention and quarrelling violently with the doctor and nurses. Their story is clinically plausible - and subsequently invariably found to be false. When detected, such patients leave one hospital and appear in the emergency room of another, and they may sometimes departure from hospital against medical advice"). Attributed to: whonamedit.com

One thing is certain here. There has been an injury sustained. The question is to whom?

    Sincerely,

    F. A.

    Lubbock, Texas

Why would a sane woman add this to her book? Does she not know her kids will read it someday and realize she's used them for sympathy?
She needs help, I mean it.

  43. Mlewis,

Go see the very interesting things going on at Palingates. The poster asked for pictures of Menard for a comparison to Track. There are many pictures now up comparing Track & his "godfather" Curtis Menard Jr. & Curtis Menard Sr. STRIKING resemblance, especially to the grandfather!! There are pictures of a 10 yr old Track compared to one of Curtis Jr's brothers at the same age. STRIKING! Check it out folks, lots of information. $carah must be bald by now. Wonder if she'll show at the Wasilla book signing. This has not been a good week for her.

  44. Another questionable parenting issue.
They NEVER reported it? What kind of parents don't report something like that? Not only to one daughter but to two? And they only removed 1 daughter from school and left the other one there?
This is disgraceful behavior from both parents and palin's role as Gov.
Was she not concerned about the possibility of this happening to other students?

My other question is how many schools have these poor kids attended?
And how is the continued absence from school by Piper being dealt with?
