Countdown has a field day with Palin's "God hand" excuse and her spotty memory about who treated her brother's burns.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

These two stories have been catching fire on the inter-tubes all day today.

The Washington Post picks up on the God hand story. As does the New York Daily News.

While Mudflats tries to get to the bottom of the Canadian health care story. A story that is much too juicy for the Huffington Post to ignore.

I was talking to a friend today about the reliability of Sarah Palin to make at least one stupid gaffe a week and how exhausting it must be for the Palin-bots to constantly try to cover for them.

No wonder Meg Stapleton finally ran screaming from the asylum. The only question is what took her so long?

  1. funny you should mention being amazed at the exhausting work her sycophants do.
went to a few sites today and watched them spinning so hard I got nauseous.

truth is, it's just like any other cult with any other insane cult leader.
that's what scares me most. she truly does have the power (and stupidity) to incite a group of people to violence.

She sure does strrrrech the truth. She sold a air plane on ebay, she can see Russia from her house, told congress "thanks, but no thanks" to a bridge and on and on... Someone could write a couple or three books about her lies. She never stops.

  3. Kept wishing as part of the God-complex story they would mention the letter she wrote about TriG where she put words in God's mouth and signed it "Your Creator." (And where sometimes she mentioned "Trig's mom" and other times she mentioned herself, as if perhaps that was two different people.) I'm surprised she didn't claim to have written words on God's hand for Him.

I also hoped as part of the Canadian health care story they would mention that Palin's husband and kids and grandkid(s) are covered by the Yupik socialized medicine, and at least TriPP uses it. Mrs. Death Panels herself, not even embarrassed that she's a hypocrite, as Rachel would say.

    Still, very grateful to Countdown!

I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. So, what did God use? A sharpie? A sharp stick? Let's actually give this stupid story some serious consideration.

Sources claim that Isaiah takes place in the 8th Century BC. In those days, thoughts were recorded by engraving the message into stone or clay tablets, or by dipping a writing instrument into ink and writing, a tedious process. Let's really get serious here. God did not whip out his Bic ballpoint or Permanent Black Sharpie. Writing took a lot of time. And, I don't recall any pictures of God carrying a pen in his pocket.

Since the quote uses the word "engraved" then God did not scribble. Now, we are back to scratching the message into a clay tablet or a piece of stone. (Like the ten commandment?)

I know that many people take every word in the Bible literally as truth. So, if the Lord could create the Earth in just six day, that would require an incredible mind, keeping all of those animals, plants, oceans and continents in order, and getting the right people in the Garden of Eden. Surely that kind of mind could remember some guy's name.

As for Sarah, she was caught, and once again she proves that she can't take criticism, her jokes aren't funny, and the longer she keeps it going, it proves that Sarah cannot let anything go.

You know who I feel sorry for? The poor guy writing the book about $Palin's lies. I heard they pushed back the publishing deadline already to add some more stuff, but now?

I mean, when do you cut it off and start working on Volume 2? Gosh, the choices to include are getting to be unbelievable. Almost every week produces one or two whoppers.

I'm going to have to start exercising my upper body so I can lift this first edition because, even with stiff editing, the thing is going to have to weigh several pounds.

Can't wait to buy that book even though it will mean wading through all this pooh again. At least the book should be exposing the truth behind each lie. Whew - aren't you glad you aren't writing it?

Imagine having to spend every day immersed in Palin pooh. Oh, wait, we know what that's like, don't we?

Man, will this woman's 15 minutes ever be up. Someone repair the clock!

I would be surprised if Palin's evangelical fans approve of her joking blasphemy to spin her own gaffes into a better light.

The fact that one of her fans sent her the scripture quotation as a defense to use demonstrates how seriously those deluded fans take her every action. Lighten up, folks! Your gal is a big, fat joke! No defense or rehabilitation is possible!

She just comes off looking even more silly using this defense. She just can't let it go. The embarrassment must really sting for a narcissist like her.

The fact that she doesn't even try to keep her stories straight suggests to me that she thinks everyone is as stupid as she is.

Maybe that's why she thinks she's just like the rest of us.

The Canadian healthcare story got some press today in the Toronto Star - http://www.healthzone.ca/health/newsfeatures/healthcaresystem/article/777009--critics-rip-sarah-palin-for-admitting-family-got-health-care-in-canada?bn=1

From her story, the burned foot was but one example of how the Palin clan stole services from Canadian taxpayers. As a Canadian taxpayer, I'm annoyed.

SARAH PALIN IS THE PAMELA ANDERSON OF POLITICS!

I have always said that it is over for Palin's run to be POTUS and she knows it. This is all about getting paid to make speeches. If Palin makes one speech a day for 2 weeks straight, the story Sarah would tell would have 14 different endings. It is too much work to lie and we all know SARAH DOES NOT LIKE TO WORK!

Sarah is the perfect example of somebody getting by on their looks... Sarah is like Pamela Anderson, Pamela was popular when she first hit the scene, but it did not last long. People got tired of watching her in her red swim suit, Pam's beauty went away and Pamela had nothing upstairs.

  12. Anonymous3:27 AM

Sarah does have a memory problem. She forgot where she put "Ruffled Ear Trig" and was forced to replace him with "Round Ear Trig".

That is why Palin refuses to have pictures taken of her at places like Silver Spoon. Pictures don't lie, they tell the true story and it is documented! Palin learned that the hard way. That is the one good thing about the internet. Palin cannot burn down every house in America to get rid of her pictures. It is not as easy as burning a church to get rid of important papers.

I'm wondering if we're not seeing pictures of Trig lately because that "Pray Away Down Syndrome" day is coming up (April?), and she might be pulling another baby switcheroo to prove he's been "cured by prayer." Maybe she'll bring Ruffles back, all healthy and cured, or maybe it's time to pull another one out of some hat. Interesting that he was in the media almost as much as she was, and now, nothing. We need to keep an eye out and be ready to catch her in another big lie!

Everyone seems to be overlooking that at that speech in Canada, she was wearing a jacket she wore during the campaign.
"I gave all the clothes back" is another Palin lie.

You beat me to it. I was thinking about the author who is writing the book on the lies of Sarah Palin. It will be several volumes. Compare this to George Bush 43's tenure. Remember all the volumes of Bushisms in eight years.I think there were five. At least, they were funny, albeit, embarassing. Sarah's lies are pathetic. You are correct, she styles her stories based on her audiences. She still doesn't care that these facts can be checked. It becomes a never ending cycle of her rexplaining her actions. Just think if she had put this kind of perserverance into being a good governor. But book tours, money, reality shows, money, gigs on late night TV, money, Oscar swag, money, magazine articles, money are way more important.

  18. Didn't she have a dollar sign on her hand during this speech? What a tacky, hypocritical bitch, after she just looted the gift suite and has been making millions on books & speeches! (Very God-like).

Everytime she says something stupid & is criticized for it, she dwells on the topic ad nauseum making more of a fool of herself by continually discussing it when it's already very old news.

And why is Piper forced to listen to all her speeches, that is the worst form of child abuse ever! Couldn't Palin hire someone to at least home school her, let her stay at home and get her a dog or something? She's going to grow up a very lonely, self centered, pathological liar and hypocrite saying snarky, mean things about people. Poor thing she must have a tortured spirit after everything she's been subjected to and endured.

  19. When the general public and the media fact check and address truth Palin has that narcissistic personality trait to be enraged when caught in her own lies. Her reaction is to play the victim, declare she is being "attacked" then project it is others who "lie and who are makin' stuff up". Palin continually states "quit lyin' and makin' stuff up" controlling a false character she disapproves of lying. Yet lies are her substance, lying to pander and connect falsely "I am just like you" false impressions utilizing sterotypes "hockey mom", "joe six pack", "christian values". She does this while blowing smoke contrasting everyone who does not buy her bs, distortions, lies bashing them as "elitists" which makes people who have inferiority issues feel damn good about their selves. the character of others with degrading lables mockery making a laughing stock in contrast to her grandiose self. What she says about self and what she does is contradictory. Than goodness and values, ethics and principals the majority of America won't vote based on who writes on their hand versus prepares a coherent speech delivered by memory, teleprompter or paper and habitual lying for false impressions is irrelevant.Nor elect a pit bull who lies at the drop of the hat.

True, she seeks to control what people see and hear. Claims she gave birth to Trig is the one consistent thing she has going for her. As she "fires up the base" she seeks to antagonize people, divide her followers as "real", "godly" and the vast majority unamerican, liars, would be baby killers in opposite extremes which is destructive.

It's a contradiction to mock the POTUS and others as lecturing i.e. educating people, informing them, giving measureable fact. Her aim is to discredit others and control who is bad to elevate herself above everyone which is the bait her fans swallow.

I read her fans skewing things exonerating and exhaulting her that she gets paid to speak and Obama does not. there is no appropriate context with those people. Soon the opposition to her power will be demonized their children attend school mocking they are not giving autographs on speaking tours.

What is the world coming to?

She has special rights to lie to pander, ingratiate self to others, fool them she is godly, His image and likeness while attacking

  20. Anon 3:57 AM, yesterday I went to the website www.pray4trig.com, to see how they were preparing for the upcoming April 28 heal-a-thon. They've changed their address, and mission it seems, to www.pray4healing.com. Most of their recent exchanges are with the science blogger Dr. PZ Myers of Pharyngula, who is an atheist and resisting the come-to-Jesus entreaties.

However, the bumper stickers for April 28/Pray4Trig are still available from www.cafepress.com.

Let's start at the beginning. On September 10, Barack Obama gave a speech saying: "our youngest daughter, Sasha, was diagnosed with meningitis when she was just three months old" (he used the near-identical line in July and March as well).

By contrast, when Michelle Obama gave a speech about health care a few days later, on September 18, the New York Times' Jeff Zeleny wrote a blog post for the Times' "Prescriptions" blog saying:
In her speech, Mrs. Obama also told the story of how her daughter Sasha would not stop crying when she was 4 months old. A doctor's visit revealed she might have meningitis; she ultimately did not, but the illness produced a scare.

So, in Alaska when we find an elected official seriously mentally ill as attested to by credentialed psychiatrists (MD), licensed psychologists, and as recognized if not medically diagnosed by licensed master social workers what process does Alaska invoke to recall the elected official who has given complete evidence of serious delusions and "breakdowns" - is it just business as usual - go as Cheney what to do? The state of AK "representatives" are sitting in Juneau right now thinking about anything else than this. Ask them. What is the process for removing a notable delusional elected official and what would invoking it look like.

  24. Thank you to Anon@8:17 for a serious analogy of this beyond stupid comment from the Quitter Queen of Grifter Supreme. I am so sick of this woman, I just consider her a waste of any thought whatsoever. However, as we have pointed out many, many times she is a danger due to the unfortunate segment of people in this country who would willingly die for her. If she could just get it through her head if she would ignore these things they would go away much quicker. I can only assume that she doesn't care if she is viewed as ignorant and a clown, as long as she can see her name in lights to so speak.

There is a margin of error of two weeks. Three months and two weeks rounded up is 4 months rounded down is three months.
But is one month difference in that kind of instance really significant 6 or so years later?
If the story is totally untrue, yes it probably is significant, but not an error of a couple of weeks when the basic fact is correct.

However telling a story of a burn serious enough to need medical attention and of going to a hospital in Canada a few hours train ride away and confusing it with a trip of many hours driving and by ship to the state's Capitol does stretch credulity a bit.

It is of course possible that she is superimosing one early childhood memory onto another. But if she wants to be POTUS would it be resonable to expect some degree of fact checking like calling her mom and asking which was the Juneau trip and which was the Whitehorse trip?
And calling Mom for a background check is actually pretty good schtick for a family values person. After all Sarah is the one who has made an issue of Canada's terrible health care system.

  30. Despite the validity of many criticisms of Sarah Palin, it's unfortunate that the "RNC jacket" story is still circulating based only on comparison photos then and now (same with the jeweled sweater set seen then and now).

Unless one of us were following Sarah Palin around (where's "Secret Shopper"?) on her frequent forays into the couture department of the Anchorage Nordstrom's, or the high-end racks at her favorite consignment store -- WE DON'T KNOW WHEN SHE ACQUIRED THESE ITEMS!

And she DIDN'T "sell a air plane on ebay", she OFFERED it on e-Bay, and said so -- she just didn't say that she later sold it at 1/4 of its purchase price -- a $6 million loss for the state -- then she complained about not having a plane always at her disposal.

And, obviously, she DIDN'T say "she can see Russia from her house". We know that, and every right winger knows it, too.

Stop giving them more ammunition for saying WE LIE!

    ReplyDelete
  31. But McCain--in her presence--said she sold the plane on e-bay, at a profit, and she did nothing to correct him. I've seen the video of that particular event.

  32. Anonymous11:27 AM

Over time, I have seen it hinted in comments here and elsewhere that Sarah might have been born in Canada.

Of course, I have never taken that idea seriously--but now I am left to wonder.

Sarah is said to have been born in Idaho. I have also seen it indicated that she was only a few months old when the family moved north.

Until now, I wasn't aware that the family moved to Skagway--which was so isolated that, to get medical care, they needed to cross an international border.

So it brings me to this question--and mind you only a question-- specifically when did Chuck Palin and family move? Are there any deed records or governmental records that verify and prove that date?

No, I'm not a birther--I just think that it is a valid question to ask--and one that it wouldn't hurt Chuck to cough up the answer to.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Since Sarah has a difficult time answering ordinary questions from reporters, maybe we should let her start answering using the multiple choice approach.

    Question:

When your brother burned his foot as a boy, where did he receive medical treatment?

    a)Juneau
    b)Anchorage
    c)Whitehorse
    d)All of 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, of course I got my facts slightly wrong about the jet Palin sold at a loss -- it wasn't THAT much of a loss! The state of AK bought it in 2005 at Murkowski's request for just under $2.5M, and Palin did, indeed, sell it to Larry Reynolds of Valdez for $2.1M.

Reynolds found the plane wasn't apparently properly maintained, and promptly sued the state for inadequate documentation of maintenance, and thus, fraud. An Alaska judge turned down his case.

As for Palin not correcting McCain when he claimed she sold the jet at a profit ON E-Bay....so what else is new? She does that all the time with her OWN statements.

I think this has been her tactic all along: Keep the lies coming so often that it will confuse everyone to just give up keeping track.
There is no end it sight to this imbecile "making stuff up". It's the only way she gets attention now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Where she was born really isn't an issue, her parents were US citizens which automatically makes her the same whether it's a lie or not.

Let's get her nailed on all her many criminal activities, like housegate & Dairygate which is again a hot topic with many sources to document the Palin mafia's circle of Grand Theft! My feeling is that is the only thing that will STOP her. Can't wait for the orange jump suit!
