Increased threats toward Democrats in wake of health care reform inspire security concerns. Is Sarah Palin partly to blame? Update!

This is bullshit! In my opinion Sarah Palin has defined herself as a domestic terrorist and should be investigated by Homeland Security.

I know that sounds like hyperbole, but since we have seen how agitated the Facebook fruitcake can make her crazed minions I do not believe it is an overreaction.

It is time to hold her accountable for the hate that she she inspires in the ignorant and disaffected in this country.

Here is video of Senators Jim Clyburn and Steny Hoyer holding a  press conference concerning security concerns.

Since when do politicians have to fear for their life for the crime of passing legislation? What kind of country is Sarah Palin and her followers trying to create?

Update:  It looks like this is serious enough to involve the FBI!  If they need directions to Sarah Palin's house I would be happy to provide them.

I guess in Sarah's world, if you don't get what you want you send some thugs out to beat people up or to kill them.

I think secret service should pay her a visit but it will never happen.

I'm sure she will go on Fox News and spin it like the media is blowing it out of proportion and that people are just being real Americans.

In Sarah and her ilk's alternate dimension replete with intellectual and spiritual constipation

pro-life translates to English as get them born so there's have more to kill.

Last night on Rachel Maddow was a report about a woman Senator who received a call at her office by someone telling her that her children and those of her supporters are fresh fodder for the lock and loaded crowd.

I'm sure Sarah must be ever so proud.

Me thinks Miss Sarah just jumped the shark. Party's over, Buttercup.

Surely, THIS will be the end of her nonsense.

  4. Who is allowing Palin, the tea baggers, and the republican's to get away with this nonsense? During Bush's presidency, you could not even hold a sign of protest as his motorcade drove by. I hate to say it, but the Democrats and the media are letting them get away with it.

You know, I felt the way imnofred did yesterday, but today I am not convinced that Sarah and her ilk are going to get away with their tactics much longer.

The American people tend to unit against common enemies - foreign or domestic. We do not like extreme negativity nor do we condone incitement to riot.

Our urban, suburban areas and even small towns have been dealing with increased levels of violence over the past decade, and I think we are reaching a tipping point where we will say "enough is enough."

Sarah Palin is increasingly casting herself in the role of a leader of domestic terrorists whether is doing it consciously or not. I wonder how much Todd is behind her rants due to his separatist affiliations.

I think there will soon be a time when the FBI or the Alaska equivalent will be knocking on their doors literally asking some pretty serious questions.

I don't want her to be seen as a martyr, but I do want her made fully and deeply aware she is about to step over the line and may be held accountable for her reckless rants. Maybe if that happens, we will no longer be subjected to her blatter.

    Heckuva'job, Teabaggers!

yes, Sarah should be hauled into an FBI office today, along with Mike Vanderboegh and Mike Troxel and Michele Bachmann, and the rest of these lunatics.

there is nothing subliminal about Sarah's message. This is a clear call to arms and incites violence.

    Enough!!!

I agree with Moon - why isn't someone in stepping up security. Not that I want to go back to the Bush-Cheney heavy-handed stuff, but I do think the feds (FBI and the Justice Dept.) need to be more active in squashing this domestic terrorist stuff before it gets out of hand.

I'd love to see some active investigations that might lead to convictions for the most blatant incitement and activities now because I think it might no[ the trend towards violence in the bud. Otherwise, these people are going to feel increasingly empowered by the lack of oversight.

Again, we need to write to Discovery and bitch that they are considering putting someone on the air who is inciting acts of domestic terrorism. How will Discovery feel with Palin’s show in their lineup and one of Palin’s batshit crazy morons gets his rifile, “reloads” and “takes aim” at one of these Dem Congressmen? At the rate their conduct has grown from incivility, to intimidation, to vandalism, to outright assault, it is but a matter of time. Does Discovery want to be known as the “Network for Domestic Terrorists?”

How much violence will the GOP tolerate before it steps back from the brink? These loathsome reprobates need to be voted out of office and when appropriate, charged and prosecuted for their complicity in these acts of violence. There is no excuse now. They know it is happening. To continue down this path is to engage in a conspiracy to commit further acts of violence. Throw them out of office and throw them in jail. I will not surrender my rights to these ignorant bullies.

  10. I agree with the above, the Democrats, media need to get involved and bring this out as much as possible. The real cowards here are the Republicans who do nothing thinking this will get them ahead. Sorry, if anything, it'll make them even more irrelevant to the american people because they're sitting back and letting crazies take over their party. Crazies who believe only white, christian people can be true americans. Better wake up Reublican party or soon people will be referring to you as the Whig party.

When do politicians have to fear for their lives?! When the majority of those around people like Palin, McLame, Boehner, Bachmann and other nuts keep putting up with them and not demanding criminal charges. How long with this go on? Until someone gets hurt or murdered. The media will love it.

    Bread and circuses.

Yesterday, can't find it today, there were a few of the c4peer's whooping it up about 'reload' being the call signal from their queen. They were pretty scary sounding and kept saying that they were going to take back the country, no matter how. And today, we see the violence against Democrats. How much would you bet the perpetrators are from c4p?

  18. I'm watching Hardball now and the violence news is being broadcast.
People like Palin, give them enough rope they'll hang themselves. Yeah for James Clyburn addressing "this kind of terrorism".
I called the FBI during the campaign '08 when Palin went rogue resulting in an escalation of death threats to Obama. The FBI said they can't do anything until there is a physical act. Given the incident of the cut gas line and threats the FBI is already investigating that the wig wearing terrorist aka hockey mom is in deep doo doo.

I understand pushing the line of "First Amendment Rights". However, encouraging a group of citizens to create an atmosphere of fear & intimidation via violence towards a specific politially oriented group does comply with the defination of a terrorist act.

    Dictionary.com
    terrorist act

    noun
the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear [syn: terrorism]

Unless these groups have declared war against the government of the US of A - our duly elected members of the senate/house are in fact CIVILIANS.

For one that was called a terrorist sympathizer requesting INDEPENDENT confirmation of Iraq's involvement with 911 - these ppl are way over the line and should be treated as criminals by Homeland Security. The GOP better step up to the plate to denounce them !

Finally, a high-level Democrat specifically calling Sarah out on her dangerous tactics. I'm actually glad he didn't mention her by name. Everyone else is, and I'll bet we will see Sarah on Fox soon in her favorite role as the victim who was singled out, when she's always said violence is not the answer. Then she'll use this as an example of how we are losing our freedoms must continue to fight against this tyrannical administration.

This Reload thing is new. Sarah regularly stirred up her crowds during the 2008 campaign, inciting shouts of "Kill him!" directed against her opponents. She thrives on divisive politics; she is a divider, not a uniter.

I don't think that there is a first ammendment righ to tell people to go out and kill someone. It's like shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater.

On the other hand, she does push what's left of the GOP further and further to the right, so now they truly are right wing extremists, borderline terrorists.

We, the People, have the power to confront Sarah Palin. We are not helpless, and we should not be silent. Have we forgotten that the Freedom Riders of the 1960s were regular young people, black and white? The youths who marched and organized in the 60s and stood up to racial hatred didn't wait for political leaders to give them the "go-ahead." The media? Who needs the media? What is the point of social networking if not to mobilize people for good, not evil. We need to stop pretending that we left Jim Crow behind or that it was so long ago. We need to stop pretending to be surprised by the level of hatred and rising violence. Segregated schools, whites-only pools and fountains are not from some other epoch. These are recent occurrences from the twentieth century. They happened during my lifetime and and I'm only 50.

Don't WE, THE PEOPLE, have the gumption to stand up to the ignorance and hatred and racism of Sarah Palin and her thugs?

A clarion call is a powerful request for action or an irresistible mandate. It derives from the sound of a clarion, a medieval trumpet. It is frequently used in a religious context, and is the name of several missionary Christian groups. It is also used in a political context, in that a politician issues a challenge for action from the public.

"...Hemrick interceded with the Speakers Bureau, which represents Palin in her speaking engagements. “The Speaker’s Bureau said, 'We don’t know who Judson Phillips is,'” recalled Shreeve. “So Bill sent in his résumé.” Palin’s contract, according to Shreeve, who had a look at it, called for her to be paid $100,000 for the event. It also included $18,000 for private jet travel for her and her entourage. Shreeve told me Palin's contract — standard among political stars who make the speaking-circuit rounds — specified what type of private jet she requested for the trip to Nashville. “It was like, she had to have this or that size plane,” Shreeve recalls. “It was like when a rock star comes to town, the contract was that detailed.”
