Next Tuesday Palin will be sitting in a courtroom and testifying under oath. What I would not give to be in that courtroom!

From the AP:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A man charged with hacking Sarah Palin's e-mail will go on trial April 20 in Knoxville and an attorney for the former Alaska governor says she will testify.

The judge in the felony case against David Kernell denied a defense request that prospective jurors answer a questionnaire to see if they have "strongly held opinions" about Palin.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Phillips denied the request at a Wednesday hearing, saying there is no reason to treat prospective jurors differently from other cases. He said they will have the opportunity to say if they don't believe they can be fair.

I kind of understand the defense attorney's concerns, it would seem like Tennessee would be Palin country. I am not surprised at the judge's ruling however.

I am very interested in hearing what takes place in this courtroom. I understand that Kernell's attorney Wade Davies is quite gifted and I am excited at the possibility he will catch Palin in a lie under oath.

That would be awesome!

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

  1. Yes, Tennessee IS Palin Country - just look at sarahpac donor receipts and see.
That said, I am confident that the defense attorney can weed out the Palinbots (from jury pool) - easy to do. Plenty of clues - teabags hanging off hats and old geezers staring at her runner's world spread. Can ANYONE go to the trial?
We needs some boots on the ground.

Oh, boy, I can't wait! Maybe she can talk about her Canadian grandfathers...or the ones from TN.

There won't be a trial. The Kernell kid will plead out on Monday.

  5. I'm also hoping that Ms. Sarah will pull some of her BS and the judge/defense attorney will challenge her. I am more than certain her lawyer has briefed her thoroughly but if she gets flustered or off the script it's gonna be a show. Also I had read that Todd was also asked to testify.

I sure hope there are some good reporters in the courtroom. I am wondering if the trial transcripts will be made public? Does anyone know procedure for this?

So if Grandma Sarah gets on the stand, who is going to fact check her testimony? Are people going to simply ASSUME that once she takes an oath to tell the "truth and nothing but the truth" that the words that come out of her mouth are based in reality as opposed to being "the world acording to Sarah"? There is a difference.

Is she getting her standard $100,000
    fee for appearing? Will Toddkins
accompany her? You'd think with kids
that have behaved as hers have done,
she'd request leniency for this kid
because no actual harm was done. And,
when all is said & done, it was her
poor judgement & lack of common sense that contributed to this offense.

she would justify her lies as the truth as she knows it. She doesn't understand the concept of truth, it's a foreign word for her.

Everything that comes out of her overblown piehole is a lie. Too bad the judge doesn't know that.

Will Sarah request pre-screened questions so that she won't look like a babbling idiot?
