STEPHANOPOULOS: You've now met with President Obama many times. At least 15 meetings and phone calls.
MEDVEDEV: Sixteen times.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Sixteen. Okay, I knew it was 15. I wasn't sure about the 16. What do you make of Barack Obama the man?
MEDVEDEV: He's very comfortable partner, it's very interesting to be with him. The most important thing that distinguishes him from many other people – I won't name anyone by name – he's a thinker, he thinks when he speaks. Which is already pretty good.
STEPHANOPOULOS: You had somebody in your mind, I think. (LAUGHS)
MEDVEDEV: Obviously I do have someone on my mind. I don't want to offend anyone.
In other words, if we take a moment to read between the lines, what President Medved is trying to say is that it is so much more satisfying working with a man who actually knows what the fuck he is doing than to work with that simple idiot that proceeded him. So finally, after eight long years of abject embarrassment, we can finally be proud of the leader of our country.
Sometimes it is easy to become impatient with President Obama or think he is not keeping his promises, but the facts are that he is slowly working through an amazing pile of shit that the previous administration left on his plate.
However Obama is working his ass off and making progress everyday. (And you can even check that progress by clicking here.) It seems to me that for every one thing we are frustrated President Obama is not addressing there are probably a dozen things that we are not even aware of that he IS addressing.
Everybody has their own issues that they want prioritized, but the President works for ALL Americans and even while some of us may currently be disappointed, there are millions of others who are ecstatic.
So in other words.....
NO!!!
Miss George yet?
ReplyDeleteHELL NO, NEVER!
Does this blog take a really long time to load for anyone else? I am trying to decide if it is my browswer or this blog. It seems to happen when I visit this blog.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it does take a long time, but it always is worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I am waiting for the reeactionary spin on President Medvedev's comments! Now they will try to tell the rest of the world that they were ahead of everyone when they called President Obama a communist... never mind that Russia
is no longer a communist country, but a democracy, however flawed!!!
same long load time for me here, too. But I have a new laptop and we're talking a few extra seconds as compared to any site I visit, so really I just have to be a bit more patient. Guess the rest of the world leaders would rather deal with someone who can complete a coherent thought or even two or three! Can you just imagine how bumper sticker Barbie would fair on the world stage? {{{shudder}}}
ReplyDeleteAs to the comments on load time:
ReplyDeleteGryphen's site is worth the wait if you are experiencing lag times.
However, I haven't yet. I don't know if we are using different operating systems or browsers, but sometimes that makes a difference.
I use Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 and Windows 7.
Now watch, now that I've stated it loads quickly for me - it will probably stop doing so. However, to this point, it's great.
As to the posting:
President Obama's intelligence, grace and ability to communicate with a depth of understanding and insight about a variety of subjects is astounding.
Of course, almost any one would have come off well coming after President G.W.Bush, but President Obama has set the threshold for intellectual and diplomatic leadership higher than I can remember in my lifetime and I am no spring chicken (that phrase alone dates me).
President Kennedy came close because he surrounded himself with great thinkers and speech writers and was no slouch himself.
However, I think I have to give President Obama even higher points because he had to overcome the truly horrid mess Bush left him. Bush had turned almost all of our allies against us, broken or refused to recognize multiple international treaties and acted like a thug amongst the world's nations.
I agree with Gryphen that regardless how slowly President Obama may be in addressing a few issues close to my heart, he has made impressive and unbelievable strides in key areas.
I am so proud he is our President and so very, very grateful that McCain-Palin lost.
Gryphen - Tour site is getting to be very agravating. Takes forever to load. Are you working on this problem? Your loyal fans want to know.

Apparently, NOT your browser. Does the same for me, and not only that, but if/when I try to click on anything, like a larger font, click to scroll, or whatever -- everything freezes with a message of "Not Responding".
That (not responding) is not just this site, but I end up having to reboot my computer to get everything back and working. :~(
Hope there are some changes in the works? ? ? Please. :o)
To answer so of the commentators here, I use windows 2000, but also use Firefox and this site loads so quickly that I am surprised to hear others are having problems with load time.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled we have POTUS Obama to set the example to all countries, especially our allies, in order to let them know that this is the CORRECT way for any POTUS to behave. The fact that he is so smart, personable and uses proper etiquette also helps immensely. We are so fortunate that the OAFS AND MONSTERS have left the building!
I don't have any problem with loading here - never have. I'm using Firefox and Windows XP. The problem might be with your browsers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gryph!
I was so frustrated with my Pc for the freezing and amount of time it took to load this site.My DD said to switch to Firefox,I did,and everything is smooth and fast,no freezing.Give it a try!!
ReplyDeleteMicrosoft should be ashamed of what they call a browser.
I used Firefox and IE and both take a long time, and on both Windows Vista (desktop) and Windows 7 (new laptop). What about thumbnailing the videos, Gryphen? That might help.
ReplyDeleteThis time the long delay seemed to be because of something being done that accesses

A Different Anonymous here, I have been noticing the site loads much MUCH slower every since the site overhaul a few weeks (a month?) ago. I have not changed my computer one bit, still use Firefox, but it runs quicker on Explorer than it does on Firefox. Not enough to change to Explorer for just one website.
ReplyDeleteBut it is definitely noticeable to to point that I load IM and do something else while waiting for the entire thing to load. And that is so 1990s. Something is not right. I thought I was the only one to notice it.
And BTW, Caig Ferguson's name is spelt wrong, over there----> and it gets me to wonder, having designed a few websites in my time, if it isn't all those boxes over there that might be slowing things down a bit. Or more than a bit.
