Scott Brown snubs Sarah Palin, avoids Teabagger rally.

From the Boston Herald:

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, whose stunning victory in January was fueled in part by Tea Party anger, has snubbed the fiery grassroots group and declined its invitation to join Sarah Palin Wednesday at a massive rally on Boston Common, the Herald has learned.

Brown’s decision to skip the first big rally in Boston by the group whose members are credited with helping him win election has some experts saying he’s tossed the Tea Party overboard, as he prepares for re-election in 2012.

“He wants to mainstream himself before the election,” said Larry Sabato, a University of Virginia political scientist.

You know maybe teabagging centerfold Scott Brown is not as dumb as people think he is.  Getting as far away from the divisive influence of Sarah Palin is certainly a mentally healthy step in the right direction.

My feeling is that most of the serious Republican politicians will quickly move away form Sarah Palin and her frenzied supporters and start working within the established GOP structure to win their reelection bids.

It is kind of like when a member of the Mafioso wants to help a politician  raise money.  Sure they could use the money, but the stench attached to it could destroy their career.

He is a scary version of her, but with a better adviser. Is she starting to look more and more like Elly Mae?

GOP will need to change their image if they really expect to regain voters. The Bush/Cheney believed in governing by fear / hate / lies - now the t-baggers have picked up the baton.

The GOP has lost any chance at being a viable party if they don't disassociate themselves from the Rabid Right. Including Bachmann, Palin, Limbo, etc.

I haven't seen Trig lately. Did she just rent him??

  6. Let us hope that the rest of the GOP takes a hint for the former center fold and realize that the club of Sarah and Michelle isn't one they in the end of the day want to join.

Here's a question a bit off topic. Where is Trigg been? Palin seems to be all over the lower 48 giving sound bite after sound bite but I have not seen her little prop in tow lately? Is she still bringing him with her or has she dumped the child on family back in AK? Either way, what does it say about her as a mother and care giver? I don't see a lot of 'special' care given to this special needs child. Just one person's observation.

  8. Does the photo caption suggest they both look androgynous or is it merely pointing out their politics?

Which Trig? I would like to have a few questions answered. When ppl do not write their own biography, someone must do it for them. If anyone can fill in the answers please do. Why does Mercede call Tripp Tripple? Thanks.

Good for Brown. He is Mitt's guy, and I do not think the baggers helped get Brown elected. If you recall paylin tried to take credit after Brown won the election, and he originally could not recall ever speaking with her. Think Brown might have later said she called after the election. Ya know, to get herself in the news, and make it appear he only won because of her. Do not know what part of you lost, paylin, the quittie, does not understand. She caused many repubs to vote Dem. in 2008. Also, too, where is Trig? No speeches in support of special needs people? Na, no $$ in that.

Where is the Trig prop? Child services put a stop to that?

I would have to agree with an earlier comment....I think Scott Brown has a different set of advisors. They toldhim to stay way from Granny Hitler.

So did Scarah Palin finally learn to keep her kids out of the limelight? She hasn't been seen packing them around like a loaf.

Hopefully the quitter learned to keep them out of her public screeching events.

It just makes the whole "family values" situation look and seem more real.

  18. I too have wondered where Trig is. Hauling him around (frequently without coat/hat/shoes) in the winter on a book tour would put any child that age at risk, but for a child with Down Syndrome, it's verging on criminal. Almost half of children born with Down Syndrome have heart defects, all are at increased risk of respiratory disease, and all at increased risk of infection. Perhaps he is too ill now to be out and about? And/or has served his purpose? In my position I should not be so judgmental, but because of my training and knowing what should have been happening in that little boy's life, I just get completely angry. Sigh.

I agree with you Gryphen, people need to know what the Palin's are really like.

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) was never planning to attend a tea party rally featuring Sarah Palin this week in Boston, his staff told POLITICO, and did not intend his absence to come off as a snub.

Brown spokeswoman Gail Gitcho told POLITICO that coming off of a two week legislative recess, Brown had always planned to be in Washington this week.

Brown drew notice Monday after the Boston Herald reported that Brown was skipping the rally.

In a story headlined “Scott Brown snubs Sarah Palin, bags Tea Party rally,” Herald reporter Edward Mason wrote that “Brown’s decision to skip the first big rally in Boston by the group whose members are credited with helping him win election has some experts saying he’s tossed the Tea Party overboard, as he prepares for re-election in 2012.”

The story was fodder for bloggers eager to highlight any GOP slight directed at Palin or a rift between a GOP lawmaker and the tea party movement.

But Gitcho said that decision does not represent any sort of political shift away from the some of the grassroots activists partially credited for his improbable special election win in January.

“Senator Brown will be in Washington this week, as the Senate is back in session after a two-week recess, to take up matters of importance to all Massachusetts constituents,” said Gitcho. “While he is unable to attend Wednesday’s event, the Senator appreciates the strong grassroots support he received from a wide range of individuals, including those who are part of the Tea Party movement. He hopes they have a successful event.”

Gitcho noted that Brown will be attending the Massachusetts Republican Party’s state convention on Saturday – Brown is currently featured on the state party’s home page advertising the event – which will be attended by tea party activists along with Republican Party players.

A spokesman for Palin did not respond to requests for comment.

Love the Norman Bates' mom comment. Of course, his mom was dead in the movie - but the look is very similar. Sorry - couldn't resist.

As to Trig - I think Alaskan bloggers finally shamed Sarah into leaving him at home (hopefully, getting some therapies). Poor kid - first a prop, then abandoned by his mom - er, the woman who says she is his mom.

Scott Brown - probably no smarter than Palin and certainly not much more ethical, but has better advisers. He seems very ambitious. I don't think he will keep his seat unless he moves to the middle. MA just doesn't fit the Tea Party-Rethug philosophy as closely as do the southern and some western states.

What I hated about his campaign was his dishonesty on the little things - like his pickup. Just like Dubya and Palin, uses props most than most.

Sarah has him stashed. The question is
why is H. willing to keep him so often. She has a special needs son of her own. Where Willow & Piper are, who knows?

There are so many new people and she is becoming more and more, fodder for the tabloids, SO, it might be time to do a greatest hits of the non-pg pictorials. When I go back to show a friend, I am totally shocked all over again at some of the blatant lack of belly I see. Is it just so obvious and weird that people cannot grock it?

I know when I saw the Track Menard photo montage, I had to look away it was so obvious, I was embarrassed to look at it!

Maybe it is just so unimaginable that no one can deal.

Ds children have a tendency to outgrow that sweet little angel thing. They are just as unpredictable as non-DS children, and can be more difficult to control.Trig seems to be a big boy for his age,and is getting stronger.Grabbing that baby prop on the way out the door and waving him at the crowd has to be getting very difficult. He has no value to her if he is not usable as a prop,so off he goes, out of sight.

Heather helps SP in the cover up of the birth questions of Trig. Still not sure who the mommy is, except I'm positive it is NOT Sarah Palin.

Heather looked pregnant in the Chrismas pictures dated 2007, although Palin says they were taken in 2006. You know, the one taken in the mansion with the wreath behind the group..... There are other pictures of Bristol taken at the same time and wearing the same clothes they wore when standing on the stairs. Palin also said this was 2006, but it isn't. In 2006, Piper had no front teeth.
