On the Daily Dish, Andrew also noticed that the Newsweek story seemed to "get" how important Trig's birth is to Palin's mythology so he asks the following:
My question is: if this story really is a "women’s story, the kind girlfriends share over coffee or in church", why has no one ever asked Palin about it on national television? Especially women interviewers? Why has Oprah never asked about it? Why did Katie Couric never ask about it? Why is it taboo to ask about it, except on Palin's own employer, Fox News, with her own personal publicist, Greta van Susteren, where Palin's account is simply assumed to be true?
Later, Miller calls the story "discomfiting" but doesn't say why. Newsweek, moreover, reprints the essentials of the story from Palin's, un-fact-checked auto-biography, "Going Rogue". I've emailed Lisa Miller to find out if she has discovered any other sources to back it up, or whether Newsweek's editors believe that a politician's own account of his or her life is always factually true, and does not need further reporting out.
Later he provided an update with the following response from Lisa MIller:
Palin’s book and public remarks are my sources for the details about the birth of Trig. Despite your persistent interest in the matter, we have never found any reason to doubt Palin’s truthfulness regarding the circumstances of Trig’s birth. Further, I’d argue that obsessing over Trig’s parentage obscures the bigger – and more important – story. In some quarters, the left so loves to loathe Palin that it can’t or won’t acknowledge the real power she has among millions of people. With midterms coming up and a presidential election just two years away, understanding that power is crucial to understanding our political context.
I use the word “discomfiting” near the end of the story, then, because Palin seems to be telling the story over and over for personal or political gain. Thus, a sympathetic, human moment becomes a billboard; that makes me squeamish because a real child is involved.
"We have never found any reason to doubt Palin’s truthfulness regarding the circumstances of Trig’s birth". In this day and age with the vast information provided by the internet literally at their fingertips I find that statement to be completely ridiculous. It is my contention that if ANY newbie to the pregnancy story were to spend even five minutes at Palin Deception they would, at the very least, come away with serious questions as to the veracity of Sarah Palin's version of events.
Clearly what has happened is that the folks who are watching out for Sarah Palin have done a fairly good job of labeling those of us who still question the birth story as "Trig-truthers", and discounting us as "Palin-obsessed". That is enough for more mainstream blogs and news outlets to give us, and the controversy, a wide berth.
It is to his credit that Sullivan refuses to be bullied or shamed into shutting up about his suspicions. Perhaps you all have noticed how many of the sites that used to pursue this story have fallen by the wayside. The pressure to drop the search for the truth can get pretty intense, and that is even more the case while living in such close proximity.
But the attacks do not just come from only one side of the issue, recently I received an e-mail from somebody who was claiming that I am on Palin's payroll and serving as a gate keeper to prevent the truth from coming out. It took awhile to pick my jaw up off of the floor, but then I simply spent a good ten minutes laughing my ass off about it. I mean I am used to being accused of working for the Obama administration and being paid by George Soros, but working for Palin?
Number one Palin would NEVER try to buy me off, because she knows I would tell the world about it, and she is right.
Number two she does not have enough money to make me lie.
Some people are simply not for sale. Why do you think I have stayed out of politics? You know besides my complete lack of talent for the job?
Over on Andrew's site, I was flabbergasted to read that the 'reporter' Lisa Miller said her only sources were Going Rogue and whatever else Palin has spewed instead of trying to fact check the story.
ReplyDeleteWhat has journalism come to nowadays? There are a few good ones out there, but they are coming harder and harder to come by.
While the "Trig" rumors have been many,... and as much as I would like to see this lying, phony, RW nutjob exposed,... when it's all said and done,... no one has ever presented any verifiable proof that the rumors are true.
ReplyDeleteInnuendo and gossip are not PROOF. "Hunches" and "feelings" are not proof. Neither are pictures of someone who is obviously does not look pregnant.
If someone has the proof,... it is time for them to come forward, regardless of the consequences, and take this phony down.
Until then,... it's all just RUMOR,... and she has shown the ability to manipulate rumor.
Lisa Miller's response to Andrew is laughable. Lisa is an enabler not a serious journalist interested in the truth. Integrity is obviously not a job requirement when you are a senior editor at Newsweek. So, Sarah said it so it must be true and those who question her veracity are lefties who loath her? She can't even get that part right. What a dope.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 7:51, you are quite correct.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why I have not simply spilled all that I have heard onto this blog. For one thing SOME information is in direct conflict with OTHER information, but also if I just blurted it out without hard evidence or eyewitness accounts it would easily be dismissed and those sources would undoubtedly never talk to me again.
Rarely does a week go by that I do not receive some tip or another. Many do not pan out, but a few have lead to some very interesting conversations indeed.
I really do think we are getting closer to having people willing to go on the record, though I could not give a definite time for that to occur.
I get where you're coming from @751a.m., but I've always thought it strange that no one has come forward with definitive proof that Stupid really was pregnant. Not one friend or family member has photos of her pregnant or in the hospital in her bed after having given birth to her little gift from Gawd since 'ya can't have a fish-picker from Texas' and all.
ReplyDeleteThis story has been shrouded in weirdness from the getgo and I would love to understand why.
Just-a-Mote, I agree with what you said about LM's response. It's amazing to me that there are so many unemployed TRUE journalists out there while someone who obviously questions nothing continues to draw a paycheck. I wonder if Lisa has children and if so, would she have jumped on two airplanes while leaking fluid and having contractions (well, at least according to version 1.0 of the tale, I know the details are known to be flexible)?
In what world does Stupid's fish story make any kind of sense?
Really makes you wonder how these people "earn" a paycheck for such shitty reporting.
ReplyDeleteWe have been hearing for 2 years that we are closer to the truth. No offense, I just don't believe it anymore. And I am someone who is convinced Sarah is lying about Trig. I mean, why are you so convinced G? Do you have other info in addition to Palin Deceptions or not?
ReplyDeleteLisa Miller is an idiot. I can't believe what she wrote Sullivan. How can any woman read the wild ride story and not question it? And only an idiot would take Sarahs book at face value without investigation. If that's the caliber of journalist at Newsweek, I'll never pick up that magazine again. I hope everyone writes both her and whoever her boss is. Guess they needed sales more than the truth.
Saw the Webby Awards handed out last night, looked all over the categories for your name but didn't see it. Where can I find it?
ReplyDeleteAndrew posted a follow-up, with a note from a reader who had a daughter with a congenital heart defect. She describes how she gave birth with a team of specialists, neonatologists and the like, on hand just in case her baby needed them. She articulates my views on the subject perfectly. Namely, that there are aspects of Trig's birth story that are so glaring, any thinking person would have questions about them.
ReplyDeleteI cannot find an email address for Lisa Miller. But she has a page on Facebook, and I plan to post on there later today, during my kid's nap. She needs to know that LOTS of people want some answers. And my main one remains, why a hospital with no NICU? Grrr... it makes me crazy.
OK, follow a pregnant woman of similar age and multi-birthed to visit an OB and tell the good doctor that she plans to be traveling around the time of the baby's birth and to give details (without mentioning Palin's name, lest the doctor get into trouble with SP's name mentioning) and talk about how doctors see this.
ReplyDeleteIf SP would take a huge risk with her health and her baby's health that she is allegedly carrying, what would she do with the country? I think that most of us don't like what Johnny Edwards did and his recklessness with his marriage and wouldn't have wanted him as the POTUS, and I think the same can be said for the ex guv.
Since she is going to the UK and they seem to think she's a joke maybe some real journalists over there would like to do some of these Palin stories. If they make the stories big in Europe wouldn't the big time journalists here have to address the situation?
ReplyDeleteHere is the simple truth:
ReplyDeletePalin has never PROVED that she is the birth mother of Trig Palin.
She would have STACKS of irrefutable evidence and documents which completely and absolutely prove that she is the birth mother of Trig.
She has gone after others and escalated her defense of Bristol, Willow and Piper on other issues in the national media before but NEVER about the Trig birth mother issue. Never.
She has not made the Trig birth issue go away forever - it would take her two seconds - simply because she CANNOT prove something that never happened. It really is that simple.
I've always believed the simplest explanation for Babygate is this: Sarah's version is true except: she didn't tell her doctor she was leaking. Palin just did everything she could do every step of the way for eight months (or whatever it was) to not give birth to that baby.
ReplyDeleteicvillages:
ReplyDeleteLisa Miller is so appallingly lazy. Plus she uses her own words cutting Andrew to discredit her own argument.
What is discomfiting that Lisa bought the story hook, line and sinker without using Sarah's own Reaganesque challenge, "Trust, but verify!"
"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to bother with the answers" - Thomas Pynchon
I for one understand why you are being careful, Gryphen. I remember that what happened when you wrote your splitsville story. What is scary is the extent to which this obviously suspect story is allowed to just stand out there with almost no serious questioning. Makes one wonder what other BS tales we've all swallowed over the years without even knowing it. I wish I had your certitude that this thing will finally break, but I, too, am beginning to lose heart. The circle of those in the know is small and tight. I suspect if it breaks at all, it will only be after something else has begun the Quitter Queen's downfall. And if she keeps rising? Scary. We elected a pretty idiot president in 2000 and again in 2004 (with a little help from some corrupt interests who are still there).
ReplyDeleteIt's curious that Lisa Miller attacks Sullivan for asking a crucial questions that still lacks veracity. From the moose's tooth doesn't cut it, McCain's own operatives talk of Sarah's casual acquaintance with the truth.
ReplyDeleteBut as I say to non-Alaskan friends and strangers when asked about Sarah, she brings out the worst in people, whether they support her or not. I did a lot of soul searching to figure out what about her chapped my ass so badly, then I realized that she is not capable or interested in a similar sort of introspection on behalf of those she means to rule.
In any case, as she brings out the worst in people, it's funny how the Runner's World editor shot back at critics about his cover story on her; how Fox execs released that snarky press release on LL Cool J when he let the cat out of the bag on not actually being interviewed by hostess Sarah; on the many event planners that have to defend paying Sarah six figures to raise the same amount for more important issues.
People associated with Sarah are as graceful and mature as she is.
Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteI'm not really surprised that Miller and others run away from this hoax. Perhaps these timid reporters are waiting for someone to get up enough nerve to speak out, or they're waiting for enough scandal to build up (like that hasn't happened already!) around Pay-In that she finally slinks back into her dragon's cave.
Someone, someday, must take that first step off the edge of fear and doubt and expose her. Someone, without a 100% assurance of validation or support, is going to have to take a chance to speak out. We're waiting for that person...
They will be hailed as a hero when they do. And, we'll all be cheering.
Here is my email response to Andrew Sullivan:
Mr. Sullivan,
I believe the reason women journalists and TV show hosts do not ask about Palin's faked pregnancy is precisely that they ARE women journalists.
They are still fighting for credibility and validation in a male dominated environment. It would be the 'kiss of death' if they were to research this story with any passion.
In addition, male journalists are so squeamish and ignorant about "women's issues" that they, too, wouldn't get near this story.
You see, Palin has nearly everyone between a rock and a hard place--just where she often maneuvers people.
Please continue to ask the uncomfortable questions. Eventually, someone will chip a way through the quarry surrounding her fraudulent behavior and an avalanche of details will follow.
That reporter could have checked out Palin's own local newspaper that tried to dispel rumors (and got nowhere.) I think there were some other stories on ADN as well, but this is what I quickly found by using "The Google."
ReplyDeleteA hard-hitting reporter should have known about the controversy and at least addressed it.
http://community.adn.com/node/136523
Even reporters dismissive of the "birther" stories will refer to politifact or other groups that have fact checked that story.
I know first hand people with money have power. IMHO I think people are using Sarah's star power to make money for their greedy selves. Until that star power starts to fizzle and people cannot make loads of money off Sarah the truth will not be told. It is hard times for many people and companies and it is obvious the ones with intergrity and the ones without.
ReplyDeleteIt is like the Tiger Woods story most people do not know about. Tiger never wanted to get married. But the people backing him and promoting him told him that he could make them more money by having the family guy image. So he was basically forced to sell his soul for corporate greed and marry someone he did not want to. But he was also told that they would all cover up the way he wanted to live his life just so the rich could get richer. It is all a game and NOT a fair one in many ways.
I would ask Ms. Miller what that important point is that all of those on the "left" are missing? Is she referring to the so-called "influence" Palin appears to have over people? Is she not aware that most of us on the left recognize that Palin's "influence" is manufactured by the people that are promoting her? Doesn't Ms. Miller understand that the image of Mrs. Palin is fabricated? And that a key part of the fabrication is this fake pregnancy? The wanna-be emperess is not wearing any cloths and most of us know that. How can you call yourself a journalist, Ms. Miller?
ReplyDeleteThis whole situation is truly strange indeed. There are so many people who can verify Sarah's story perhaps but for some strange reason choose not to do so. These include but are not limited to:
ReplyDelete-personal care assistants who came in to change the bed linens
-cafeteria workers who came in with the food tray
-cleaning crew workers who came in to clean and restock the bathroom and sweep the floor
-visitors who came to visit friends or relatives but might accidentally have gotten a glimpse of sarah in her room.
-etc., etc., etc.
In other words, Sarah and others did not exist in a vacuum. The only thing that I can think of that would explain the silence is that there was no hospital birth.
"understanding her power" my tookus. If so-called "journalists" like Miller would do a little digging and present their findings rather than let themselves be spoonfed, the truth about Palin would come out. Or if she were ignored and allowed to tweet and facebook like a teen, she would undo herself. Instead, she is treated like a darling. I believe it is because all the journalists, right, left, in between know that in the next Presidential race, the Repubs have no one who can compete with Obama. No controversy, no real competitin doesn't sell news casts and stories. They know they can't make money if Obama has no serious competition, so they are inventing/creating competition that doesn't really exist. Palin makes a lot of noise. And I think Palin's deciders work the media and try to create interest where there is none. She is really no more than a present day Anita Bryant with a Facebook page. If they stopped trying to make her out as more, she'd fade away to Hollywood, reality show oblivion.
ReplyDeleteI have my doubts about the pregnancy and continue to monitor the Alaskan blogs in hopes of finally reading the truth about it and her. I tend to agree with the opinion that the child is not hers by birth.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder about the employees of the hospital where she supposedly gave birth and their involvement. Everyone has a price (except you, Gryphen, and me, of course) so why not take up a collection and offer to 'help' one of them out? Surely one of them has a price. Just a thought.
2012 is coming. I have no doubts as to the intentions of this nitwit. She will actually run for the Presidency, and here we shall be, the laughing stock of the world, once again.
I guess I'm one of the few people who
ReplyDeletestill have a subscription to Newsweek? But I will be using a black marker on the Newsweek cover of Sarah Palin "Return to Sender" and cancel my subscription.
I may have to write Lisa Miller a letter: a real, on paper, addressed and stamped letter to Newsweek. First, we do not LOVE to LOATHE Sarah Palin. Most of us would like to return to our lives full time and relax and rest assured our country was safe from this dingbat. But we do loathe what she is doing: the lying, hating, stupid rants against our President, and the fact that someone who lies constantly can be heralded as such a Christian woman. She is using her supposed Christianity like she uses Trig and believe me, she uses him. If he is her ticket to the Presidency, then someone, male or female, in the media such that it is needs to have the balls to fact-check the story. Being a woman, and having had two children, I cannot listen to the "wild ride" or read the subsequent reports by her of her pregnancy, delivery, and feelings about Trig and believe any of it. Especially not coupled with the pictures of her during that time and her actions. It just did not happen!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 9:28 am, I think so too. I think she is being used by her handlers to make money and to wield power of influence. And her Dad spilled the beans that she does not make her own decisions. I think her handlers are also feeding her drugs when they have to. You can't look at and listen to some of the interviews especially on FOX and believe that she is not on something: the glazed eyes, the breathing, rapid speech, various hairpieces plunked on top of her head.
ReplyDeleteI love Andrew Sullivan and read him every day. He has very thoughtful posts on all sorts of topics of interest. I also bless him for keeping up with the Palin story, as I bless Gryphen and Palingates and Shannon. We are being led like sheep to the slaughter, and I hope we are smart enough not to fall for this terrible woman. She reminds me of Anna Nicole.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there was a hospital birth either, that is why 2 hospitals were bypassed. I still believe Bristol was not the mother of the Trig we see but some other women with Todd. To save a scandal Sarah agreed to take Trig into her home, no need for an adoption since Todd is the father, mother was probably pay handsomely to keep quite. The baby could not be adopted out because of DS and future medical expenses required for him.. I believe this is the scandal covered up not Bristol having a baby as a teen, That was probably taken care of on that trip to New York Just thinking....
ReplyDeleteSince tight lips are sinking no ships in Alaska, I firmly believe that the key to bringing this sad saga out of the pits of Hell rests with none other than Meghan Stapleton. After all, she undoubtedly knows the truth about Trig, and was casts aside without as much as a "Thanks, but no thanks!"
ReplyDeleteTime and circumstance will tell the whole story; not unless slithering sarah can find a cunning way to get the real story floated out by Fux News or People Mag; while still tugging at the purse strings of her rabid followers, to include Lisa Miller.
Andrew posted my email to him over the Miller fail. I'm so pleased to have communicated with him. SO pleased. His leadership in coming months will be beyond invaluable.
ReplyDeleteAny mom who has given birth and any medical person who just reads the whole wild ride birth story knows it is a fairy tale. It is a shame that no one has the guts to ask her questions about the wild ride and birth story. We know it is a joke and did not happen. What needs to start happening is people need to start infiltrating her venues and asking these questions repeatedly. Truly if she decided to run for any office, there are enough of us to question her. She'd be a babbling squirming idiot (not that anyone could tell the difference) but she could not stand the pressure and the heat of it. And it would be an all out assault on her lie. Bring in on Sarah. Run Sarah run!!
ReplyDeleteAs a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and the daughter of an Obstetrics Nurse, I can tell you there are more then enough holes in Palin's story of Trig's birth to drive a Mack truck through. Just off the top of my head, why has no one who provided neonatal testing come forward, the help in the physicians' offices are not that highly paid that they wouldn't come forward to verify that she was pregnant if they could be paid for the same info, not to mention the staff at the hospital. When I listened to the Wild Ride recently, I heard something that I had forgotten about and that was $arah and Todd saying that CBJ had delivered so many babies that they weren't even sure of the count and they were referring to the year prior to Trig's birth. In checking records, the most anyone could find in the two years prior to Trig's birth, were three deliveries by CBJ. I asked a couple of OB physicians who were friends of mine about the situation without mentioning her name, there was no way, especially in this day and age with a high profile candidate like a Governor, that a physician would not have called in a Neonatal specialist. That physician would otherwise be setting themselves up for malpractice.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll see any action from the media on this at present because as of this moment, $arah is just a private citizen. I know she thinks she is far more important than that but for them to go after a private citizen isn't going to look good. However, if she runs for President, all bets are off! If she thinks they looked into her background in 2008, she hasn't seen anything yet. Do you really think she's making friends with the media by denying them any chance at interviews or with her continuous mocking of them as the "lamestream media"? She's not doing herself any favors by her actions but then $arah has never been known for being really all that sharp when it comes right down to it. She's a hypocrite of the worst sort and this will all come back to her if she throws her in name in for 2012. That's when someone else with the resources behind them will go to work on her. She wasn't smart in making enemies with the McCain camp and yet, she thinks she's untouchable. Someone knows where all the bodies are buried and I'm sure they will come forward rather than see her in the White House. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows what a disaster that would be for this country, even the people who are extremely unhappy with our current President.
@10.43 ....one theory I never thought about... maybe far-fetched, but then again.... why not...
ReplyDeleteI'm in this for the long run...
Anonymous @ 9:40-- anyone working in a hospital can't talk one way or the other. Maybe she never even met the doctor she named as her OB; that doctor couldn't even confirm nor deny it. Cafeteria workers? They can't talk.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Joe McGinniss moved to Wasilla to get up close and personal with anybody who might have the goods on Trig's origins.
ReplyDeleteDoesnt Miller realize that only a small percentage of Americans actually believe Palin is qualified to be president?? Every poll shows this. It's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteMiller is a terrible journalist. She clearly did no research on Sarah. She takes what Sarah says at face value?? Even most Republicans know she lies nonstop. Why is Miller picking on the left when most independents and half of Republicans find her to be unqualified. Talk about biased.
I'm also canceling my Newsweek subscription.
Journalism in America is really in trouble. I don't get it.
It's all about partisanship and ratings. People actually think Fox is real news. It's frightening....but what will change it??
Reading Mercede Johnston's blog, it appears she and her family believe Sarah birthed Trig. Levi was even there when he was born. How do you explain this?
ReplyDeleteThe Former half term gov. lies perniciously. Almost any fact spewed from her has been through a commercial washer spin cycle with most of the actual "facts" rinsed away to only leave a semblance of truth. If Sarah said it was sunny – I would verify & confirm before believing her.
ReplyDeleteAs for Trig, it is important to know the circumstances surrounding his birth because of the lies. If they adopted Trig - hey, more power to them! If it was private or closed adoption - we can & will respect their privacy.
But Sarah spun the tale of the "wild ride" to show herself as a "supermom" - not just a hockey mom, but one that can "do it all" without blinking. Hold down a full-time high pressure job with 4 children, fly to Texas while 8 months along in a high risk pregnancy, give a speech at a National Governors convention, fly home on 2 planes & 10 hrs - by-pass the most equipped hospital to birth a special needs baby in a little community hospital - be out of the hospital & back at her desk in 3(?) days with baby in tow. That is what we are suppose to believe?!
Either the wild ride was a complete fabrication OR it was an attempt to have a "fundamental late term abortion" OR she did not give birth to the child known as Trig when stated (mid-April 2008 I believe)
So - why the cover-up? Where is the truth? As a VP candidate, a heartbeat away from the presidency last year - and perhaps making a run in 2012 or 2016 for the Oval office - we are to put our trust and our Nation in her hands when she can't tell the truth?
This is an example of personal judgement, potential leadership & responsible decision making.
I cannot remember the name of the fella who had written a book I'm pretty sure about the Palin administration but the book was never published... I don't know if I read it at Mudflats or here
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this happens a lot when high profile people get wind of writings like this and have to what..settle out of court or financial agreement.
Anyway, I'd like to some research. Can someone give me a name?
Levi was not in the deliver room and did not see anything.
ReplyDeleteAnon. 9:40 AM. I would add to your list the family and friends of all you mentioned. Because she had not quit her job as the Gov. of Ak. at that time, seeing her in the hospital with new born baby would have surely been told to someone. If she was a popular gov at that time, someone would have told their wife, hubby, friend, parent ect. Maybe baby came from Texas.
ReplyDeleteGles - His name is Frank Bailey. And he is writing a book. I can't wait for it!
ReplyDeleteIt is kind of funny because in our household, I've been a Trig Truther since the beginning. My partner firmly believes that Palin didn't give birth to Trig, but he also always said that if the truth about Trig comes out it won't be the story that compromises her with her faithful followers.
ReplyDeleteSo, two smart people, one addicted to the Palin Trig story for a while, the other only giving it a passing glance and dismissing it. Both of us believe that he didn't issue forth from her tight abs and flabby loins. Now both of us feel that too much time has passed and too much spin has been put upon this story for it to ever come to fruition.
However, both us us firmly believe that Palin's stupidity will be too much for her to overcome in a Presidential election. Her stupidity will bring her down. She has her dedicated fan base but I doubt that even with the best handlers she can convince enough people that she is competent to run a country.
Palin says she "chose" life. She says she also "chose" a hospital without a NICU for to birth her premature Downs Syndrome infant.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Palin sees no contradiction in that scenario eliminates her from serious consideration for public office, i.e. she is crazy.
The faked pregnancy scenario is actually less crazy. Palin is too stupid to realize this.
Completely agree with Daisydem.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Bristol want Levi there for "Trig" delivery? A little mutual support, witness verification or what? Hope Levi is watching his back and it is to his credit that his sister and mother know nothing.
ReplyDelete1:13 PM ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
ReplyDeleteAlaska is the last frontier and nothing like the rest of the country. That is the way they like it. According to Mercede Levi and his family are all very affectionate.
Why did Levi kiss Trig at the RNC?
My family is very affectionate. Levi adored Trig especially since he was the newborn brother of his, then fiance, Bristol Palin. Levi was around Trig a lot, so they developed a close bond and he learned many baby handling tips. Which was great because he was about to become a father.
Doesn't that explain why Levi would be at the hospital at 6:00 am when his future mother-in-law gave birth? He believed at the time that he would marry Bristol. He is a tender young man and Trig would be his brother-in-law. Did Levi also say that he saw Sarah in the hospital after the birth? She also did state business at the hospital and someone from the state saw her in the hospital after giving birth. I am certain that person will come forward when asked. They are a professional and they can give their word about what they know.
Can you imagine the surprise when the Todd and Sarah had to rush back to birth the Alaskan fish picker? I can imagine that Todd would have called Bristol to have her siblings and friends at the hospital. It is not everyday that your mother births your new brother with particular health issues and he is coming a month early. Todd probably told Bristol and her friends to not miss being there.
Mercede answered:
ReplyDeleteWhy was Levi at the hospital at 6:00 AM for Trigs birth?
Levi was in a very controlling relationship, and if Bristol wanted him to do something he did it! She wanted him there, so he was there. I also believe that he kind of wanted to be there in order to meet the newborn little brother of his girlfriend/almost fiancé.
Mercede said that she would do an interview with Levi. Perhaps she will take more questions about his time at the hospital with Bristol, questions that Levi will answer. He would know the other friends that he saw while there. He may of had contact or seen the delivery doctor. Doctors do come out and tell the family that mother and little so and so is doing such and so. He may have noticed other adults who were not family that were there. He could describe the entire scene. when you are waiting around a hospital you notice things you would not ordinarily pay attention to. In any event Mercede could pick his brain if she wants to clarify.
The whole part about a very controlling relationship is quiet sad. I have to wonder if he is coming out of that.
I'm disappointed that your response to Andrew was about women journalists not wanting to address the issue. I don't see it as a female issue at all, in fact women are the ones who have brought the most truth and information to light since they are so peronally knowledgeable about OB/GYN issues.
ReplyDeleteI think the response should have been that if a journalist hasn't followed this story and/or think it's too preposterous to research, they don't want to risk their reputations by entertaining the controversy surrounding this. Instead they find it easier to compare those questioning it to the birthers who are now basically laughed at by the majority, and they don't want to risk being on the wrong side of the story.
That anyone gives her any credibility disappoints me. It really doesn't take too much digging to find out that she isn't more than an image. Unfortunately, many people don't do any digging and take her for face value, even reporters who are supposed to expose the truth (partly because the act of showing SP is a fraud would hurt the potential to make $ for publications who write stories about her, it's in their financial interest to keep making her seem newsworthy). I also think that the news media allow themselves to be bullied by her name-calling when they write something she doesn't like. They allow her to call the shots, for some reason, instead of the other way around. They need to make a moral decision that continuing to give her undeserved coverage is not fair to their readers and readers need to make their voices heard that they are tired of $ taking precedence over the best interest of our country. Encouraging incompetence and ignorance can have serious and dangerous consequences.
ReplyDeleteGles @1:20 - I think it was Frank Bailey.
ReplyDeleteHis publisher "backed out."

ReplyDeleteYou're right anon, she is a babbling idiot. When Sarah Palin talks, she makes Alvin Greene look like a nuclear physicist.
Please, PLEASE run for President in 2012 Sarah; I can't wait to see her real medical records; her tax returns; see her in front of a firing squad of reporters; etc, etc.
You cannot hide behind Twitter and Facebook if you run for President.
For weeks, I've been posting about the e-mail from the "STATE OF ALASKA, BENEFITS DIV., dated May 21, 2008, asking Gov. Sarah Palin for Trig's birth certificate!
ReplyDeleteWhat more proof do you people need! We all know how corrupt Alaska is and how important people lie for Sarah. Also, remember how important it was for her to get back to Wasilla to the Mat Su Hospital where Dr. CBJ and Bristol were waiting for her?
Here is part of the e-mail: "To insure continued coverage for your newborn, please submit a copy of the child's Birth Certificate to us within 60 days of the birth. Claims submitted for your dependent child after this time period will be pended until this documentation has been received by the Benefits Section."
"Continued coverage" tells us her state insurance had been paying the medical costs. Her insurance would not have covered her daughter, Bristol. Now, the only way she could do this was to have Dr. CBJ register her as the patient. That would show all billings and medical records in Sarah's name and that's why her insurance would pay.
In the State of Alaska, it is mandatory for the doctor or hospital to send the information of a birth, within 24 hours, to the "Bureau of Vital Statistics."
Now, if Dr. CBJ did indeed register her as the patient, I see no reason why she wouldn't have sent the birth info to the BOVS that would print out a b/c showing her and Todd as the parents of Trig.
It's necessary to take this e-mail seriously and consider this as a possibility!
"Why was Levi at the hospital at 6:00 AM for Trigs birth?"
ReplyDeletethat was my question. At the same time I asked why he was wearing a hospital bracelet.....no response to that question.
I think Mercede was kept in the dark regarding the preemie Trig. Most likely that baby did not have DS, but FAS.
"Continued coverage" tells us her state insurance had been paying the medical costs. Her insurance would not have covered her daughter, Bristol.
ReplyDeleteIncorrect. If Bristol was not 18...she would have been covered under her parent's insurance for the child's birth.

ReplyDeleteHow about a post on "Five Reasons to Doubt Sarah's Version of Trig's Birth." You don't have to present a whistle blower's testimony-- just 5(or 8,9,10...100) glaring contradictions in her story and photographic evidence. It's all there.
Does Mercedes know about this? The article from US Magazine Tuesday – June 15, 2010
ReplyDelete"Bristol and Levi are still very close," a source close to Bristol, 19, tells Us. The eldest daughter to former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin claimed in the June issue of Harper's Bazaar that ex Johnston, 20, was "a stranger to me."
But the source reveals, "Now that Mama Palin is out of the picture and Bristol is on her own in Anchorage, they spend more time together than most people think."
Gryphen, What was it that Van Flein told you?
ReplyDeleteHe believed Sarah gave birth to Trig because of the people who were at the hospital? Something like that. Did he say he knew them or talked to them or what made that credible to him?
He made it all seem that much weirder.

ReplyDeleteGranted, Bristol was covered under Sarah's insurance for accident or injury. But, over at Brees, some time ago, a poster printed out the SOA handbook and it pointed out the birth of a grandchild to an employee, would not be covered.
Since her blog is gone, can an Alaskan state employee answer this?
Thanks!
I have always believed the wild ride to be "basically" true (the general timeline and location of the principle characters anyway), because it shows how irresponsible and soulless Sarah is. I agree with WalterNeff that she spent 8 months trying to get rid of that baby. The wild ride was her last chance (well, sort of. All the air travel she took that newborn on could have done what she failed to do in the preceding months). All her God's Gift bullshit was exactly that: bullshit. My complaint has always been that nobody called her on that wild ride except bloggers. Every single step, from accepting the invite to go to that conference, to taking as long as possible to get medical attention after her leaking started, shows that Sarah isn't fit to be a mother, much less anybody who has to make decisions for an entire country. It was reckless endangerment at best, cold-blooded attempted murder at worst. Sarah Palin is one evil MF. If I believed in God, I would have to say his aim was really really bad when that lightning bolt hit the Jesus statue yesterday. One can only hope it improves.
ReplyDeleteSo the story goes, now that Sarah is out of town they can all spend more time together.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't take Bristol long to hook back up with Levi. At their age and with their back ground Ben might be part of a threesome. A coparent threesome. Hockey teammanship is a big part of this. You know how a best friend will step in for his friend. That could be. Ben, who looks like Levi, moves in on Bristol and Tripp. When Tripp couldn't bond with his blood father, there was Ben. He softens up Bristol and eventually Levi is back.
It will be interesting to see how Sarah and Todd are with all this. Wasilla was recently hit with a big blow when an Army soldier was charged with murder. A best friend of Bristol, another hockey player. They all stick close together. That has a effect on anyone with a heart. For some reason Sarah has shown no concern or leadership in that unfortunate news, that so closely effects her family and the town she wants to progress and claims to care so much about.
Since $arah Paylin has such a hard time telling the truth, even when it comes to stories about her family, why would it be so far fetched that she is lying about Tiggs birth. Maybe the McCains will be so pissed off when he loses his Senate seat they will finally spill the beans. If it wasn't for picking her there would be no Tea Party or as much public hate talk against President Obama. The Republicans are very low they will do anything to be in power. They ran up the debit so they can say see Government and "entitlement" programs are bad. It's hard to believe people buy their crap they got us in this mess and now they want to screw us some more. I guess they won't be happy until there are only rich people left, to heck with everyone else. The Paylins sure act like they are better than anyone else, kiss my @ss or you're going down. She may find that she has messed with the wrong person with McCain. She may be rich, but her money pales compared to the McCains and they will squish them like the pests they are.
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris and Ella for Bailey's name!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds to me from reading the above posts the insinuation that Sarah committed insurance fraud with the Dr. as accomplice. I would have never thought she'd be that bold. But Bristol would also have been figured into this fraud should the proof ever come to light. So much for honesty!

ReplyDeleteThere is no evidence to prove Bristol received pre-natal care from Dr. CBJ, although she did have a car accident near her office in the evening in Feb., 2008. She could have gone there for care, in the evening, after the office closed and everyone was gone.
Since the e-mail tells us Sarah sent bills to her insurance for Trig's care etc., why wouldn't she and Dr. CBJ have sent the invoices for Bristol's pre-natal care to the insurance co., under Sarah's name, too? This would tie in with the subsequent birth on April 17/18, 2008.
Just a thought...
Re insurance issues. Would love to see Sarah's policy. Even if a dependent minor's charges for labor and delivery were covered under the policy, the baby's medical costs would not be covered. Wouldn't shock me if Dr. Cathy Baldwin-Johnson was a party to insurance fraud. There is a conspiracy of silence because people are facing jail time.
ReplyDeleteRe the HIPAA issue, I highly doubt that hospital workers who actually saw Sarah deliver Trig (which didn't happen) are afraid to support Sarah's story because they think they will be prosecuted for HIPAA violations. (The person who raised that is a troll). If the birth happened the way that Sarah did, there would be plenty of people to support her tale.
Sarah has perpetuated one of the biggest frauds in American political life, with the help of the lapdog media (who ironically she lambasts as "lamestream" media when in fact they are too scared and witless to question Sarah's strange birth story.
Is there anybody on here who works for the state of AK that had to send a birth certificate after the birth of a child, even though prenatal and maternity coverage was being paid by the same insurer? I've had three children and never had to provide any type of proof of birth to the insurance company who also covered my prenatal care and delivery. This doesn't seem to be a normal procedure IMO if they had covered prenatal care and the delivery, why would they need proof of a birth certificate? They have all the proof they need in their medical records from the hospital that were required for billing.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the many flights $p took Tri-g on would have caused a lot of pain to his little ears. There is no one who will tell how he has had to suffer carted all over this country as a prop. Her backers are uncaring as she is of this little child. May he someday never have to suffer this abuse.
ReplyDelete...Lisa... think about the bigger picture...and thats what SP is counting on, the the details will be inored.
ReplyDeleteSTAY THE COURSE....
Does anyone know the medical insurance provider for Alaska's state employees? I looked up Dr. Johnson and these are the companies she accepts insurance from...just wondering.
