Shamed by President Obama's Weekly Address for blocking nominations, Republicans fold and allow unanimous confirmation of 65 new administration officials.

As some of you may know the Republicans have have been acting like petulant children who did not get invited to Obama's birthday party and have been refusing to cooperate at just about every level.

So Obama decided to take his case to the American people and let them see just how hard the GOP was working to keep the country from making any progress.

Uh oh!

Right on! It is shameful how the Republicans show up to work just to say "I won't do anything!" So childish.

IMO, the General had his own agenda disregarding the goals our elected officials had in regard of the war and our citizins including military.
We did not elect the General to chart the course of the nation which he and those under him given their remarks seemed deluded they were the authorities undermining, ridiculing and dismissing civilian decision makers. The general had a secret agenda ridiculing the agenda of our government.

    Way to go, Mr. President!

Funny this did not make the headlines on the main stream media.

  8. The MSM needs to highlight all the positions that have been waiting to be filled and what that has cost the public in governmental services. The District of Columbia has been operating without three judges just for one small example.

Where did you find this story, Gryphen? I have been looking up and down the 'Main Stream Media (or should I call it the '*Lame* Stream Media' like a certain half-term quitter, full time grifter is doing? In this case it definitely might be an apt name...)

If it is true: YOU GO, MR. PRESIDENT! Now that you found a way to shame the Party of NO into action, maybe you can do so in other instances, too - like with the appeals court nominees, and also to other issues that are near and dear to you (and to US) - like healthcare, unemployment, housing, etc!

I was watching the Ed Show on MSNBC, and he cited a poll that he says is bad news for President Obama. He says this poll shows that more people disapprove than approve of the president's performance. The poll supposedly measures leadership and likability among other things. I have become increasingly skeptical of such polls, no matter who conducts them.
Only a limited number of people answer questions, and I also wonder how representative these people are of America in its entirety.

Since 2009, it has been crystal clear that the Party of No has invested in the president to
fail, not taking into account that their stubborn digging in of their collective heels has been an inextricable part of problems for
    untold numbers of Americans
    .
They have held up nominees for extremely important positions, thereby impeding progress on critical problems. They have also been the biggest problem when it comes to extending unemployment benefits, with Orrin Hatch adding insult to injury by suggesting that unemployed Americans be tested for drugs in order to save money.

If Americans are idiotic enough to vote in people of this ilk, and to fall into the trap of how "likable" someone is as a part of leadership (via GW Bush and Sarah Palin), then we deserve exactly what we get as a result.
Bush's presidency was disastrous and we are still reeling from it. And there are others who are just foolish enough to see Palin as presidential material, in spite of her painfully obvious shortcomings that are on display every time she opens her mouth.

I am happy that President Obama embarrassed these cretins into doing the right thing. However, they would have done it in the first place if they hadn't been a bunch of heartless, soulless creeps whose only objective is to get back in power at any cost.

It should be crystal clear that no matter who the president is, he or she needs key people to help implement his or her objectives. That's why each election is vitally important. It also goes for nominees to vital positions.
