Filings with the FEC show SarahPAC gave just 10% of its donations to candidates and the lions share went to Palin "consultants". Updated!

"No you can't have any! It's all for me!  For me I say!"

From the AP:

A report filed with the Federal Elections Commission Sunday shows Sarah Palin's political action committee contributed at least $87,500 to candidates she's endorsed in the last few months.

But the financial disclosure filed by SarahPAC also shows Palin spending more than $210,000 on consulting.

Republican candidates receiving money from Palin for the period covering April 1 to June 30 include Terry Branstad, who is running for governor of Iowa, and Joe Miller, who's challenging Alaska U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the August Republican primary. Each received $5,000.

Among Palin's other high-profile endorsements: Republican Carly Fiorina, who's running for the U.S. Senate from California, received $2,500. But Nikki Haley, who's running for governor in South Carolina and for whom Palin made a campaign appearance, got no money, according to the filings.
She hasn't ruled out a bid. Aides have maintained that Palin's focus is on this year's elections and on getting conservative candidates elected.

Palin entered the reporting period with over $916,000 on hand. She received more than $865,800 in contributions, and ended the period with over $1 million on hand, according to the filings.

So in three months Palin has spent $210,000 in "consultant fees?"  Color me skeptical but I wonder if that is not simply a slick way to launder money that they are actually paying out to people they don't want talking to the press? Or certain bloggers that we know?

If she were actually spending that incredible amount of money for consulting, and still making such incredibly ignorant and arrogant statements via Twitter and Facebook, then clearly SOMEBODY is not getting their money's worth.  Or else they are simply too impulsive to accept the advice.

Still I would like to have a look at the actual report.

Update: Here is the report. (H/T to ella)

Update 2: SarahPAC received 529 donations during this period, but only ONE from an Alaskan!

I think believe pretty much tells you all you need to know about Sarah Palin's support up here, don'tcha think?

You hit the nail on the head, Gryphen.
Either she is buying worthless talent for consultants or, more likely, she is using that term as an umbrella for funneling money to "independent" bloggers or media spokespeople much like the Bush-Cheney strategy.

Also, too, considering how much money she has in her PAC, she sure is miserly with donations for "favored/endorsed" candidates. Maybe she knows her endorsement is not going to pay off in dividends for her as those candidates go down.

Well, Gryphen you know RAM is being paid for "Grassroots" among other things...and a hefty fee...I think some of these "consultants" are paid operatives who troll the blogs, and websites and report back to her or RAM...
Well I've sent the whole kit and caboodle to CREW, hope they are making a nice tight case with all this info, IRS also, too!

  8. Here's the link to her FEC reports.

A few notes after a quick look:
There's a new 'media consultant', True North L'Attitudes - Robyn Engibous, former Ted Stevens staff assistant. It looks like Sarah is paying her more than she earned back in '07 with Ted.

Looks like Ivy Frye is out - no payment since April.

And congrats to RAM who got a really big raise -- $6K in April and May and $10K in June.

  10. From HuffPo article:

Along with expenditures, the report list 529 itemized receipts from donors -- but only one from Palin's home state of Alaska.

something really stinks here. these numbers don't mesh with typical cycles and circumstances. but I'm sure she'll get away with it because she always has and as usual, no one will step up to the plate. sick of it.

  15. Anonymous6:18 PM

Actually she only donated 10% to candidates.

    $87,500/$865,800 = 10.1% donations

    $210,000/$865,800 = 24.3% consultants

You all realize she thinks her time and endorsement is worth its weight in gold. She puckers up tighter than a drum when it comes to giving her 'hard earned' dollars to non-Palin's.

Contributors should be examining their priorities, if they truly want Pink Elephants or Tea Party non-establishment types or whatever the hell they are (white and angry) to have a chance to take their country back (again, from where and to what?) they should be contributing directly to their favored candidates. SarahPAC is not an appropriate venue.

Yech, I'm sorry to sexualize cause Sarah's all about being a GILF, but she's givin that waffle cone a good time - and everyone is watching.

Are we to seriously believe that old burning thighs Diet Dr. Pepper / diet Red Bull Queen is eating something with actual calories?

Empty calories for an empty head.

  19. Anon @ 6:39pm:

Sorry but Sarah really doesn't seem all that into giving that waffle cone "a good time", she looks like she's nibbling cautiously, rather than giving it her all ;-)

Looks like her other "oral talents" are as lackluster as her speaking ability!

Bloggers? What did I miss? Palin paid bloggers to keep quiet or go away? Or to cause chaos.

RAM is really scary. Palin relies on her too much and she makes a lot of mistakes.

Does anyone know how the donations compare to other politicians like Romney?

I don't know what kind of consulting she's getting, but it doesn't seem to be helping. She should have paid the speechwriter more...lots more!

Sarahs inappropriate tweet was an attempt to cover up how little money she is bringing in, and how much is really for her, her, her pockets.

  30. Google is a wonderful thing. So are other, more definitive search procedures.

Go down the list of donors. Dig a little.

Sarah. You silly old thing. Don't you trust anyone to give you advice? Some people who want to give you money should be told to give it to someone else.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous9:52 PM

I think the consultant she needs the most is a stylist. She seems to have overlooked that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Apparently, Sarah doesn't believe in contributing to political candidates unless it's others contributing to her. 2004...yup, 6 years ago...was a big giving year for her when she parted with about $600.

I wonder what happened with that Tea Party Convention fee she promised would go back to the cause and which would have to come from her personal funds.

This is the only site I could find that listed her. It seems pretty thorough. We can, at least, say she appears to give more than Todd or Chuck & Sally Heath.

What is happening is Sarah bullshit her way into this position with little knowledge. Then she asks for donations for the cause. Well the cause the majority of this money is going to is to pay people (consultants) to instruct, educate, advise, teach and whatever else to her. Nice little scam. It is like she created a scholarship fund for herself and all those dummies are paying her tuition. The rest of the money is getting funneled back to the Wasilla Hill Billies and their cronies. Everybody is getting paid or paid off.

OK, I've got a major bone to pick. What gives her the right to wear a blue star pin ?

(A service flag or service banner in the United States is an official banner that family members of service members in harm's way can display. The flag or banner is defined as a white field with a red border, with a blue star for each family member in active duty.)

She doesn't have a family member currently serving in the military.

Track's 'enlistment' (substitute for jail time for school bus vandalism) is up, so she should not be wearing that pin any longer.

Just another lie. "Oh, look at me, I'm wearing a blue star pin; I have a son in the military" !

Makes me sick. And she should be called out for it by all families that DO have a son or daughter serving in harm's way.

Also, hope those aren't 'bendy straws' in the that picture; if so, the grifter will walk out the door with them !

  37. What's fascinating to me... is how so many of the consulting "firms" are named after constellations and stars... like one person named them all.

    "North Star Strategies" (10k)
    "Orion Strategies" (10k)
"True North L'Attitudes" (north star reference?- magnetic north is different from True North, denoted by the North Star) (5.4k)
    "Aries Petra" (6k) (constellation/mythology link)

Or maybe it's just a common naming theme in Consulting businesses? Perhaps I'm being paranoid. Hard to tell.

Lots of interesting details about $arah PAC: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0710/39587.html

$arah PAC also reported $330,000 in fundraising costs this quarter, a sign of a national political operation, Politico said.

    $330,000/$865,800 = 38% spent on fundraising

You got to give her credit: if anyone knows how to "scam" the public it is this scammer hands down.

She may be uneducated, basically illiterate, and essentially stupid, but she sure knows how to rake in the big bucks and keep herself in the game. Her "fanbase" adores her, the media cannot get enough, and there are those still out there willing to "donate" regardless of where the money is going.

    Stupid? Yes. Shrewd? You betcha!
