Oooh this has NOT been a good week for the Palin-bots!

From PR Newswire:

A new nationwide survey of Republican voters finds that support for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to win the GOP's 2012 presidential nomination has fallen by one-third since March, sliding from 18 points to 12 points. Palin is now running in fourth place for the nomination behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

In all three Clarus polls testing the 2012 nomination strength of a changing roster of potential candidates, Romney and Huckabee have topped the GOP field.

Wow! Sarah is now trailing behind the Mormon, the hick, and the philanderer.  That must leave an especially bad taste in the mouths of her supporters. But like I said, the more people SEE Sarah, the more they KNOW Sarah, and that does not HELP Sarah.

By the way, I wonder what is up with Palin's Facebook writer? I mean Palin has been getting her ass handed to her pretty much everyday and not a peep since the Tuesday attempt to ride on Ted Stevens coattails one last time.  Come on RAM!  Time to earn that $22,000 that SarahPAC pays you every three months.

By the way, since I am on the topic of Palin right now, let me take a moment to say that I have no sympathy whatsoever for THIS idiot.  He fucked up big time.

I am, however, wondering why nobody seems to care as much that he also fantasized about the death of Levi Johnston.  I mean where is the outcry over that?  After all, if hell freezes over, he might be the new mayor of Wasilla.

Hate to admit it, but I shared the exact same thought as that guy. Just didn't put it on my FB page.

As for Levi, he's been hanging around the Palins for way too long. The retard, media whore, I'll do any damn thing for money mentality rubbed right onto him.

    Let 'em all destroy themselves.

    Good riddens fruitnuts!

Do you suppose with her recent little episode in Homer, the Levi thing, primary results, etc., she's just finally come totally unhinged and they are trying to figure out how to deal with it??!! Or....all the ghost writers got thrown under the bus with everyone else she disposed of previously!

If she were smart she would smile all the way to the bank and realize the millions she has sucked out of her believers will provide her & Todd with a long and easy life in Alaska. go home, shut up, and don't work at something you don't want to do for the rest of your life.
In "real" rural America that's winning the lottery big time.
But what happens to people once they see the bright lights?
She'll crash & burn like so many sports stars and kid stars.

Oh...did I preface this by suggesting she was smart?

I read he resigned after he apologized for his thoughtless remarks. An idiot no doubt, but one with an active conscience.

For all the ill-will and ignorance SP expresses, I wish her a long life. (Behind bars, where she belongs.)

You know...and I think I can visualize the end of this movie.
Sarah and Levi; blood shot eyes...looking pretty ragged after all they've been through, but together again, maybe sitting partly naked together under an old gray wool army blanket, on a cold windswept Alaskan rocky beach, looking off towards Russia, sharing a warm bottle of Old Duke, thinking back to when they thought a million dollars would be all they would ever need to live in the wilds of Alaska....forever...
But now all they have is each other......
    alone and cold
except for the warm bottle of Old Duke they share....

Couldn't agree with you more about Timothy Horrigan's resignation. If nothing else, he showed appallingly poor judgment to make such a stupid comment in writing on a public page. I found it irritating that so many on the left acted like it was no big deal because the 'right does it all the time.' That's exactly why it IS a big deal. They have the market cornered on vile remarks and we need to let 'em have it, not try to match them ugly comment for ugly comment. We can and have always done better and I would hate to see us get down and grovel in the dirt with them.

  13. What about the christian right and their 'imprecatory' prayers? Praying to their god for the harm or death of others? Buchanan telling Todd to drown Levi?

Come on, who really gives a rat's ass. Words are words and actions speak much louder.

Many of us wish her and her family would "go away"; into the wild like Chris McCandless, or just disappear, no questions asked.

They are terrible people and that some wish them ill will is nothing different than what they pray for or think about their adversaries on a daily basis.

I for one am happy to see a Dem grow some "cojones"; unfortunately when Dem's grow some and say what they really think, they then must resign.

Hmm, ya think that's why it might be so difficult for Dems to hold the White House or either house of Congress for an appreciable among of time?

I'm in line with Anonymous @ 1:06 p.m. I also had the very same thought and wished so very much that it could have been true, but alas, she is just like my rotten son-in-law and just won't die. I'm not ashamed to admit that I felt this way because she is a rotten evil that will destroy this country or a terminal cancer that will infect every citizen or a wild beast that can't be controlled and will annihilate our country. So any metaphor you chose, you are totally aware of the fact that she is of no good whatsoever for this country, just like my ex-SIL.

It helps to read what Horrigan said. He didn't wish her dead. Sarah and her friends pray that Obama dies. Yesterday I read that in a town hall meeting with Dini Rossi a supporter shouted "Patty Murray should be shot" and Rossi just warned her that the press was present. We've been hearing a lot worse out of the republicans and tea baggers for the past 2 years. Horrigan never should have apologized or stepped down. After hearing all the lies and hate that Palin speaks, I'm surprised you even mention it.

Actually, what would have been appropriate is for SARAH to DEFEND Levi, the father of her grandson! She could have taken a very high road and made a statement about that. That would have been the mature, adult, motherly thing to do, but, no, not Sarah, she has to always be the victim.

Let me get this straight. Sarah generated cries of "Kill him," referring to then presidential candidate Obama, and that was OK. Sarah ahd the Tea Party People have hurled some of the most degrading and disrespectful comments out there about Obama, and that's OK, too.

Some guy states something realist, that if something, anythng happened to Sarah, she would be frozen in time, glorified and martyred. His best point is that should not happen. Let her go on and on, endorsing failed candidates and issuing stupid ghost written statements, and she will kill herself off.

As for Levi as Mayor of Wasilla, I say Bring It On! If that dufuss can run Wasilla, it will totally discredit Sarah's term of office. If Levi can do it, any one can be the Mayor of Wasilla, even Sarah. It means that she wasn't so special after all.

“it was precisely Bill Clinton’s scandal that brought Bush and the Republicans to power.”

    Not exactly.

As Bob Somerby says at his dailyhowler.com site, “when Gore began to campaign in March 1999, the press corps landed on him and his campaign like a cartel of sabre-toothed tigers. For the next twenty months, they staged what I have long described as a journalistic “war against Gore.” (Dan Kennedy, then Boston Phoenix press critic, once called it a “press corps wilding.”) No other modern White House candidate has ever been trashed in so thorough, or so baldly dishonest, a manner. As one studies this twenty-month war, a certain conclusion is hard to avoid: Given this campaign’s razor-thin outcome, it’s hard to believe that the press corps’ misconduct didn’t decide this election.”

Somerby is required reading for any progressive who wishes to understand how we got in the current mess. There is a link called “How He Got There” that is especially essential reading.

http://www.dailyhowler.com/ Now go do your homework!

Palin got the white glove treatment by the press. Only a few bloggers, Katie Couric, and Kathleen Parker had ANY guts. Still, Palin has played the victim sonata without end. We never heard Gore whine.

Agree with all of those above who mentioned the "kill him" shouts at Sarah's rallies, the imprecatory prayers, targets on Dem politicians, and on and on. As well as the "2nd Amendment remedies". All of that was okay with the righties. When I heard about the plane crash, I knew some Dem somewhere would wish out loud that it was SP, also knew it would be a mistake.

I don't wish death on SP, her family or anybody else. Death hasn't diminished the influence of Reagan. Seems more fair somehow to tell the truth about somebody if they're still alive, still around to defend themselves. I want her to stick around at least until all the truth about her comes out.

And fortunately, death hasn't diminished the influence of MLK, Jr., Jack Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln.

London Bridges -- While reading the article you linked about Hillary, my blood ran cold. It reminded me of a recent article comparing Palin's lackluster parenting (as evidenced by Bristol's life as an unwed mom and her tabloid announcements of her engagement/unengagement/engagement/unengagement) with the Clinton's classy guidance (as demonstrated by Chelsea's advanced education and fairy-tale marriage).

Putting both of those articles together, I realized how easy it would be for a public who is sick of Palin's antics to vote for Hillary. Yet, as your article shows, we must remember Hillary's flawed history. We cannot vote for Clinton just because we're appalled by Palin.
