Levi Johnston's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel

Part One

Part Two

Well I will say that Levi looks more relaxed than he has in his past television appearances.

Women scare the shit out of him.

This just shows the talent of Jimmy Kimmel...that he can even make a total bore like Levi look somewhat interesting.

A nice fluff comedy interview would keep anyone relaxed.

Levi needs a real good PR firm to help him walk back his statement on not being "truthful" about Sarah.

Who is the biggest fame whore in this sordid saga (other than Sarah)?

At least he took all the jokes in good humor. Unlike someone else we know who has no sence of humor. I hope he wins, just to make Scarah look like a total fool.

It's true, Levi has picked the perfect team for himself.

First, a pimp for body guard and career coach: pretty face and body managed by tough-guy pretender with little taste and no brains but who wants to control all the action.

Secondly, a shyster lawyer who doesn't want to do the work for but takes all the money of his client.

Too bad we didn't hear Levi talk about his GED or going to tech school or college. Levi is an empty vessel who seems to be enjoying being taken for a joy ride that will end as all joy rides do: badly.

Look guys, Levi is a small town KID trying to play in the big leagues, and as one would assume, having a very tough time of it. Cut him a break will 'ya? All of us can Monday morning quarterback his life, but since there's a good chance he reads this blog, why don't you keep offering him advice instead of criticizing everything he does and every choice he makes?

Also too, considering who started his "tour" of fame, what makes him any more of a celebrity hound than Bristol or Sarah for that matter? If Jimmy Kimmel or David Letterman or Kathie Griffin want to interview him or have him on their shows why shouldn't Levi do it? In this reality tv obsessed world, the over done/overplayed is becoming the new normal. Not that i necessarily agree with it or like it, but that's the way it is.

Finally, as Jimmy said, Levi is the little problem that keeps pecking away at Mama Grizzly. He may not spill all he knows (he may not even realize all he knows) but just the fact that he exists, and is out there in the public eye, giving Queen Quitter a hard time, somehow makes the world a better place as far as i'm concerned.

Levi, if you are reading this, apologize to your family, get working on your GED, and keep pecking away at Sarah. She comes undone quite easily.

Did he have a chew in his bottom lip?

I hope, (but I doubt) that he is banking any money he might be making because the Palin minions are really going to be gunning for him. But I'm sure he is being milked dry by his 'team'.

    Wake up Levi!

  13. Someone should tell Bristol that if a female calls off the engagement, she is supposed to RETURN the ring.

I think Levi did a great job on Kimmel. He is far more real and articulate than SP.

  14. LOL
Kimmel should be his campaign manager, Tank should remain head of security, Rex does the legal, Mercede should plan events and be a scheduler and Mom is the press contact/media spokesperson.

Base of the Levi for Mayor campaign operations is one the second floor of the Meta Rose Square building. Levi and Kimmel have thier own offices just off a great doom where Merecedes and Mom run the show. While Rex works back in Anchorage, Tank sets up head of security shop just outside the huge doll house on the first floor on the Meta Rose. ( The Meta Rose has had a wonderful, huge, two story doll house on the 1st floor for years. It is a joy to play inside of with the kids.)

The whole drama that follows Palin is a bit much for a town that is labeled where Palin comes from. sigh

But it is near hopeful to this Mat Su Valley resident, that Levi for Mayor mantra is so lauaghable. Like anyway you look at it, laughable, funny.

    Screw you Sowah.

Kimmel was funny and the humor was founded on reality for Levi is not dear to the Palins.

I can see there was real possibility for Bristol and Levi to commit to be a family and do a reality show with potential of how they as young people with a rough start cope with life and go about getting the GED, manage instant celebrity status due to her mom being tapped..put out there in the national spotlight. They could have made a tremendous amount of money doing things e.g. going to school letting the public in.

To date between Sarah and Bristol the two of them have accepted opportunities via Oprah, magazines to feature themselves and even the abstineence campaign Virgin until Marriage. Some people do it in privacy and some send emails to mags holding out for big bucks.

I believe Sarah Palin is highly narcissistic and would be angered to share any limelight or spotlight (share the wealth) with anyone. Bristol can, Sarah can but Levi...it is not for him. It's evident what the Palins hae done and do then criticize Levi for the same as if they don't seek media, to be on the cover, photo shoots, tv "roles", a reality show.

Beware of people who will malign you if you do what they do. It seems Sarah was not the only person sought after with offers. It's obvious she chose to go that route go to Hollywood pitching her show but God help Levi or anyone else who does it too. For Sarah it is God..opening doors (blame God?) and if Levi does..he's a horrible person.

Maybe Bristol is caught in the crosshairs...as if she must chose Sarah or Levi just as Levi was to forsake his family if he wanted Bristol...damned if you do and damned if you don't. It is a mindset of "only one person can win" .

Levi: it is work to earn a degree. My dvice is to do your best to live life without regrets. I hope you will be responsible for with fame comes responsiblity to positively effect people and their lives for many young persons will look up to you. How many teens will have a parent or girlfriend's mom thrust into the spotlight? Please consider the majority and earn respect of others to know you set an example. TLC can't give you enough money to buy respect, dignity and a life well lived. It is free but you must do the work.

Levi is movie-star handsome--and more importantly, photogenic on film and on camera. He just has that sort of face. So he's not a rocket scientist. Is everyone who criticizes him as critical of practically every other model-celebrity out there who also has the ability to cash in on their looks?

All of you who criticize him ask yourself: If you had the choice of slogging it away at some menial blue collar job for minimum wage--and hopefully by the end of the year raking in 20 grand---or rather doing one or two day's work appearing in a music video (for which he was most likely paid anywhere from 5-20K) or doing an ad (10-20K on up for a day's work)....what would you choose?

If you KNOW that you are not a great intellect, but you know you have damn good looks--and now a name that is very marketable (and a great name at that--"Levi Johnston" is a very studly name), wouldn't it be SMARTER to follow the media opportunities? Wouldn't you be a financial fool NOT to? C'mon. The best chance this guy has of providing for his own and his son's future is by cashing in on the opportunities that are coming his way, thanks to SP.

Who cares whether he wanted it or not, it happened, now he has every right--and should--follow the money. C'mon! All these holier than thou types who chastize him for doing what probably everyone on these blogs would do given the chance!

And if you criticize him for trying to be a celebrity--they you need to criticize most every celebrity. Did Angela Jolie go to college? No. Did Madonna? No. Did Britney Spears? No. Did Paris Hilton? No.

I'm highly educated myself and feel strongly that missing out on having a college education is a terrible thing, but let's face it--while in most all other areas of life it DOES hurt you not to have one when it comes to employment--but when it comes to modeling/acting, it's OK. You have to look good, have confidence, get out there, etc.

He has a beautiful face, there is absolutely no doubt about that. His on-camera charisma? No it's not rattling the TV, but then again, he does has a charm about him. He comes across as a good, honest guy. He's actually diplomatic and a gentleman. And this interview shoes, he's certainly getting more confident.

Can he act? Who knows? Look at how many people who were unknowns and untrained became film or tv stars? Some fail big time--like, say Cindy Crawford. Some get by even if they are not that great. And some get better.

He is NEW to this and he is young. Maybe he doesn't have a natural acting talent--but then how many people do the first time they are thrust in front of a camera. Think about public speaking. Some people do it well at first, some persevere and get good.

Unfortunately for him his training is on the job, but so far he's done ok. It will be interesting to see how he progresses. Even if he only becomes a Paris Hilton or Elizabeth Hurley, famous for being famous and attractive and nothing else--heck they are both laughing their way to the bank.

I think the way he has treated his mom and sis sucks. And is inexcusable. But hey, again, he's a stupid kid in many ways and clearly sucked into a dysfunctional dynamic with Bristol. How many people on these blogs are NOT in dysfunctional relationships? Clearly these are hard patterns to break and he's just starting out. Hopefully he wlll be able to pull himself out of the fold and grow emotionally so that he grows a few and gets into healthy relationships.

continued....I personally do not think he lost ANY credibility by admitting he 'lied', because it was a very vague statement...all he needs to do is clarify what he did and didn't 'lie' about. I think some of the blog comments that claim he not cannot be trusted--I think that's part of the campaign to undermine him--planted comments suggesting he is not credible. I personally would still believe anything he says--the guy is clearly a good honest guy--dumb maybe, foollish maybe, but he is not manipulative. On the contrary he comes across as kind and thoughtful and genuine--but he needs a GED of course.

So, worst case scenario, let's say he does come out with the goods on SP....let's say that a few responses are along the lines of 'he admitted he lied, how can you trust this...' Well, as the propaganda campaign of Fox and right-wing operatives has shown, you can lie all you want and the damage is done. If he reveals what he should about SPs misdeeds, she will have a shadow cast over her, no matter how believable he is to how many people.

So I say he should go for it. And sell the story, what's wrong with making money out of it? SP did and is. Isn't that the good 'ol capitalisitic American way.

And if he is able--and maybe not now--he should get better legal and talent representation--but he is probably overwhelmed and if any of you know what it's like to be faced with big contracts and offers and all that--it's confusing to an adult, much less a 19 year old with no real-world business expeirence. He's probably gotta make some career/legal/business mistakes before he veers ont eh exact right path. Look at all the celebrities or sports players or whatever who got swindled by their managers? It's confusing stuff, give him a break. Hopefully, he'll learn and also save, not spend, and forge a positive path for his future.
But he should make up to his family and help them out.

    I say--go Levi!

He was funny and relaxed. He should get Jimmy Kimmel as his campaign manager. What a circus that would be.

If Levi ran, could he win? With free publicity like a reality show, maybe he could. There have been small towns that have elected very young mayors. Why not Wasilla and Levi?

    ReplyDelete
  21. He looked great and seemed to get an enthusiastic audience response. Kimmel was funny, if not a little mean, and Levi took it well.

He needs some serious tutoring before running for local office...Wasilla does have a police department, right? How could he not know that?

There's a real possibility his show could get picked up but I wouldn't bet on it and I do wonder if Levi realizes it hasn't been picked up by a network yet.

Go Levi, John McCain made you a household name. You came out of nowhere Alaska,(Bristols testi-money), needed no expertise at anything and are now making money because of it. It's obvious you can actually speak in one sentence conversations that are coherent.
Tell the world the truth, they can't touch you if you are just honest about EVERYTHING.
If you want the money better do it quick because the devil is on your ass.

Wish Hollywood would decide to do a
big screen version of "The Ponderosa."
Levi would make an absolutely perfect
'Lil Joe.' Brad Pitt as 'Adam,'
Warren Beatty as 'Ben,' but I can't
think who'd be good as 'Hoss.' Any
ideas, anyone? They could base it on
    whichever particular segment was the
most popular & expand on it.

Also, I agree with all who feel Levi
is doing the best he can given the
circumstances he's in. Guess we can only hope Tank cares enough for Levi as a friend after being associated with him for this long, that he'll
do right by him. Or Levi should not re-new his contract with Rex & Tank.
Right now, he's kind of stuck.

Virginia Voter, You hit the nail on the head. Jimmy's talent made the interview succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jimmy is a great guy and he was really soft on Levi. It was funny and made Levi look pretty good. However, Levi does need to remember that there is a Wasilla Police force and that the policing of the town does not rely on the State Troopers alone. As Mayor he would have a voice in the town police force and would interact with the Chief of said police force.

That's it, my one complaint about what Levi had to say.

He'll need to learn state and local govt and all that they comprise, from the ground up. Presumably, he has not completed any of the High School Government courses, so this will all be new to him. This is also presuming that he decides to be serious about his ambition for political office rather than this being some sort of publicity stunt.

Civics and Gov't courses, along with Economics were part of what those of us that went to High School learned. Levi has some learning to do....a lot of learning to do, but perhaps he will find in himself a brain he did not know that he possessed, and that will be wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous2:40 PM

Maybe you guys remember high school civics classes more clearly than I do -- but I sure didn't walk out of high school (or college) knowing whose budget the police force fell under. If I'd had to think about it, I could probably have logically figured that the "city police" were paid for by the city. But, I would not have known that the County Sheriff was actually contracted by the city, etc. etc.

What I'm saying is that for most kids, high school was a blur spent passing notes and looking at the opposite sex. Real life is when understanding is added to the few facts that soaked into hormone-laden brains.

As for Levi's chances of actually being elected mayor of Wasilla ... Normally, I would say that he had a GREAT chance because so many voters don't research and investigate the local issues. Most voters walk into the voting booth with a strong idea of who to vote for for president. But, the local folk are chosen based on name recognition. That's why the incumbent wins almost 90% of the time.

Of course, Wasilla's smaller than many cities, so more people actually KNOW the candidates. Gryphen's recent post showed that those who do know Levi would not vote for him. I just wonder whether there are enough people who don't know him but are star-struck enough to vote based on his famous name. Those votes might counteract the knowledgeable ones and get him elected.

Levi admitted the mayor doesn't control the local police - the Palin family does.

let's face it - SP has proven that anybody can do the job. She delegated everything - Levi can do that.

What the hell is it with these people?

Look at the first clip at marks 1:00 and at 4:20; what is written on the palm of his left hand?? Looks like "KE" and then some numbers?

Does he have another tat on the palm of his hand or is that another sharpie moment?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous11:53 AM

I agree with the other poster that Bristol should return the ring if she called off the engagement. But this family doesn't know what class is if they looked it up in the dictionary.

I was a little perplexed also about his comment about the mayor not controlling the police force. It must not be a city force if that's the case, they must be contracting county services. Unless, he just doesn't know.

I thought Jimmy handled it all in good fun. I mean, the idea of Levi running for mayor is ridiculous. But anything for the reality show I guess. Good luck to him with that, personally I don't think it will even get off the ground. These people have pie in the sky ideas and none of it comes to fruition. The only thing Levi managed to do successfully is knock up Bristol. But that's not hard to do, I imagine.

I haven't watched the clip yet - the stream is loading as I write - but while I'm waiting it occurs to me that last week Kimmel interviewed one unserious political candidate, i.e. internet phenomenon and 15-minute famer Basil Marceaux dot com, and now this week he's got another one on his show. However, I think Basil Marceaux dot com actually graduated from high school
