Christine O'Donnell claims that having women in military colleges damages national security. Is THIS the new feminism that Sarah Palin is so proud of?

From Religion Dispatches:

O'Donnell, when asked by the moderator whether taxpayer-funded, single-sex military institutions were constitutional, said:

"I think they're definitely constitutional and I think they're vital to the security of our country and to the defense of our country. By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense. Schools like The Citadel train young men to confidently lead other young men into a battlefield where one of them will die. And when you have women in that situation, it creates a whole new set of dynamics which are distracting to training these men to kill or be killed. And these dynamics between men and women are what make the relationship between men and women beautiful. So I don't think that we should try to desensitize men to the differences."

In response to a critique of sex discrimination by Hannah Olanoff of the National Organization for Women, O'Donnell replied, "It's an honor to be a lady. That's a beautiful part of womanhood is to be ladylike." She insisted that West Point "has had to lower their standards ... in order for men and women to compete." By lowering standards, she added, "we have reduced the effectiveness of our military."

She continued, "You will cripple the defense of our country if you lower the standards at all."

Can you believe that THIS is an example of one of the "Mama Grizzlies" that Sarah Palin is promoting to compete against the Democrats in the general election instead of a much more competent, and qualified Republican?

Well on behalf of those Democrats, let me just take a moment to say, "Hey thanks Sarah!"

Of course if Palin's most recent tweet is any indications she may have already started to realize that her interference in local election may have caused more harm than good.

Independents/GOP: focus. The weakened Leftist party is the pt; it allows unified effort 2 reign in Fed govt's overreach&protect Constitution

about 2 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

That tweet sounds a little panicky doesn't it?

However it may be much too late to do damage control because according to certain pundits the election of O'Donnell may in fact signal the end of the Teabagger's influence on any future elections.

Of course one would really have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find another candidate so completely unfit for the job of Senator as Christine O'Donnell.  And if you doubt that even a little bit then you simply have to take a moment to watch her 1998 appearance on Bill Maher's old "Politically Incorrect" program.  Here is both  part one and part two. This woman has to be seen to be believed.

Man, NO WONDER Karl Rove is pissed off!

Update: It certainly does not look like Karl Rove as planning to back off of his criticism any time soon either.

Paylin may be a little miffed when she realizes her buddy Christine is getting all the attention. After all Christine is actually running for office, while Paylin is just running her big yap.

"By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense. "

well that should be the statement that is pinned to her during the general. if her competition has any sense, that is...

what a statement on this country that someone like this is a serious candidate for senate.

After living with the antics, schemes and lies of Sarah Palin just within the last two years (never mind all her garbage during the previous 36 years), I can look at someone like O'Donnell and say, well, she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, and she's made a bit of a mess of her finances, and while she did lie about her degree, at least it was ONE college (and all she lacked was one class and tuition) and no one has come forward to say that she's vindictive and hateful (except saying that Castle was a secret gay, ok, that's bad)...so my take is that she's definitely an improvement over Sarah Palin.

dumb but plucky beats evil sexy librarian any day!

and she is cute as a bug!

Aha! That's the key--in the Koch's Republic of Teabagistan, not only will women be required to wear bumpits, pink or red suits with short skirts, high heels, sexy librarian glasses and speak like cartoon characters on speed, they'll have to be programmed to be Stepford Wives, also too. Oh, yes, and be very, very--uh--white. Who needs the Taliban?

Oh, and I'm sure SP finally sees the handwriting on her palm--there's a younger, cuter Sarah in the house who sounds even more off-kilter and confused than she does. And even has an impressive amount of bizarre skeletons in her past. No wonder Queenie's nervous!

    The more you know...

Republicans, if you've donated to the GOP, your hard-earned money is now going to support the candidacies of loons like Christine O'Donnell and Joe Miller. Oh yeah, Teabagger crazies have infiltrated the Republican ranks and the GOP is pouring wads of your cash contributions into races to elect total nutcases. Only thing is though, that thinking voters are likely to be repulsed by these fruitcakes which may result with more elected Democrats.

You might want to reconsider making further donations to the GOP since it's more like donating directly to the Democratic Party.

P.S. Democrats, you should be grateful to Sarah Palin for all her delicious, fresh-baked, GOP divisiveness. She's certainly making your goals more attainable.

    Yeesh.

So now Sarah's days of being the GOP favorite energized young thing who can do it all is over?

The architects that created the Palinstein monster and paved her way onto the national scene are thinking that their girl has been naughty. She's disobeyed and gone rogue. Time for the naughty chair.

If she's no longer useful, they'll get a younger model of a Sarah clone to do their bidding.

If Christine O'Donnell is as truthful as Sarah Palin, when O'Donnell says she's against masturbation as much as she is against sex between a man and a woman before marriage it means that she is doing herself at least 3 times a day.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous6:25 PM

WTF does she know about the "dynamics" between anyone ?

She's never been married, or even in a serious relationship.

She has no current "friend" or any prospect of one.

I doubt anyone could put up with her. She's totally freaking insane !

    ReplyDelete
  22. Christine is younger and prettier than Sarah, and she has no kids tugging on her skirts.

More importantly, Christine enjoys openly discussing sexual habits.

It doesn't matter that she's saying "don't masturbate, don't have sex", it's just the fact she's using such explicit language.

All of these things titillate the old Repub farts more than Sarah's red shoes.

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC):

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee’s chairman –
... This support includes a check for $42,000...

$42K for a woman that wants women banned from the service academies. Cornyn probably AGREES with O'Donnell's position.

The cognitive dissonance must be nearly overwhelming.

everything women have worked for to give her the opportunity to be where she is now
So if Christine thinks that women working in the military will lower the standards maybe she shouldn't work in the Senate It might lower the standards and distract the men from doing their job!
Maybe Christine should get married,be her husband's sex object, stay home, have lots of babies and be ladylike.

Christine's mother must have been a witch. I can't imagine having the views she holds without wondering where they came from. Her mom must have been anti women's lib, a whacko religious nut and completely sexually repressed to raise a daughter like this. On the other hand, it seems Christine knows how to grift and mis-handle campaign contributions to the tune of using them to pay her bills and not keep a job. Those skills may have been learned from her father?????

As a woman who has been a lawyer for nearly 30 years (when I started out, there weren't many of us in southern law firms for sure), if O'Donnell doesn't think women belong in the military, the choice is easy. Women don't belong in the military, then they don't belong in the Senate nor the Governor's Mansions, nor the White House. Anyone who follows this tripe should therefore never vote for O'Donnell, Palin, Sharron Angle, etc.

OK, I agree with Ratfish...anytime these Republitards are so publicly anti-sex, anti-gay, and anti-masturbation, we usually find them in gay sex clubs, tapping men's feet in bathrooms, or harassing teenage pages.

I would bet the farm that O' Donnell is probably a gay masturbation addict...apparently she's never been married or had kids, so then she's a forty one year old VIRGIN???? Every servicewoman in any military branch should remember this latest O'Donnell gem, which is every bit as loony and neanderthal as her statements about masturbation. Where do they come up with these nuts, who are obviously suffering from diarrhea of the mouths and constipation of the brains? Just when I think they can't set the bar any lower, they consistently outdo themselves in rank stupidity. And what's with this challenging the manhood of either political rivals (like O'Donnell) or the president (like Palin)? It just makes them sound as silly and emotionally stunted as their male counterparts.

If the people of Delaware end up voting this certifiable loon to the Senate, they will get exactly what they deserve. But I take heart in hearing that people who backed Castle will vote for her Democratic opponent, Coons.

It is bad enough with her anti-masturbation theories, knowing good and dam well her ass is not virginized(my new word). She lives with a dam man an thinks we will all believe that innocent spill.

The audacity of her speaking against females in the military in a demeaning way needs her ass kicked.

I was in law enforcement for 22 years and I was not treated any different than the guys. I came up through the ranks an even made the rank of Lieutenant with a shift of 22 deputies and nurses.

Women have worked so hard for equal rights and then you got some foofoo bitch that wants to be dependent on a male for everything. You can tell she wants women to be subservient.

Bitch we are not going backwards in time we are going frontwards. Young women can be all they want to be and there is absolutely no reason to treat them different.

In the real world the majority are not treated any differently because of gender. I am a very strong female and I can do anything a man can do and most of the time even better. Common facts women perform better under stress and leadership qualities. So I really think it is time for you to sit down and STFU.
