From the Plum Line:
By some reckonings, Christine O'Donnell had a bit of a rocky time at her Delaware Senate debate with Dem Chris Coons last night. She wouldn't say whether she believe in evolution, described Coons as a Marxist, and appeared to stumble over her answer on discretionary funding.
And yet, as Dana Milbank notes, in comparison to recent revelations about her and the national caricature that is the result, her performance was clearly an improvement.
If that's so, there are two people she has to thank for that, and they're both Sarah Palin advisers: Randy Scheunemann and Michael Goldfarb. They were the ones who took on the job of prepping O'Donnell for the debate, Goldfarb confirms.
Palin, in a conversation with O'Donnell, recommended the two men to her, and the O'Donnell campaign reached out to them to enlist their help, Goldfarb says. They spent the day with her yesterday in Wilmington getting her ready.
Somehow I think saying you were a witch is less damaging to your credibility than actually taking advice about politics from Sarah Palin. Don't you think?
I wonder if these two geniuses were the same ones who told O'Donnell to refuse to say whether she believes evolution is a myth or not, and insist that Creationism should be taught in a science classroom along with evolution even though it is NOT a scientific theory.
Just in case you actually believe that O'Donnell has a point with her little "Bearded Marxist" jab at Coons, here is the original opinion piece from his school newspaper written in 1985.
Are these two the mental giants who told her we were fighting the Russians in Afghanistan and didn't finish the job? And the ones who forgot any kind of prep for either of those empty headed tarts about Supreme Court decisions? Are they Democrats?
ReplyDeleteThat picture of O'Dimwit literally made me laugh out loud! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteTonight we get Sharron Angle and her sideshow.
The dumb leading the dumb.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a dingbat. It would be sad if it weren't so hilarious. She believes in creationism. All these Tea Bagger folks think that voters' questions are beneath them--as if they have 'divine rights.' Seriously, why do they think they'll ever get elected if they can't answer the simplest of questions?
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell kind of nazi eagle pin is Paylin sporting these days? Is she an idiot or what? Doesn't that eagle look like this?

I guess it explains why she wasn't able to correctly answer questions during the debate then.
ReplyDeleteDidn't O'Donnell see how terrible they were/are with Palin?
Sarah hoping to set COD as her VP?
You betcha!
DootDid
Did u catch this crap?
ReplyDeletehttp://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/10/sarah-palins-alaska-a-first-look-inside-the-palin-household.html
Seriously, when stupidity can be coached away we are in trouble. She didn't do toooooo bad last night. (the moderation was pretty bad) The GOP in supporting these fools will get what they deserve. Unfortunately we are along for the ride.
ReplyDeleteVOTE DEM

Hey Anon @ 4:06 - the railings from the sports center! The railings!
ReplyDeleteTalk Wasilla TALK.
O'Donnell failed to say whether having a Marxist teacher convinced Coons to be a Dem because he was persuaded to by the Marxist or disuaded to by the Marxist.
ReplyDeleteBecause being for an American type democracy is not a Marxist/socalist dogma.
And if twinkie brain knew about Marxism she would know that.
After watching the debate last night, I highly suspected that Sarah lined her up with her old coaches. O'Donnell's style and answers were too similar to Sarah's not to be from the same coaches. What really amazes me, though, is O'Donnell wasn't prepared for the same question Sarah screwed up concerning the Supreme Court decisions. I kind of believe that nervousness got the better of her and she couldn't come up with the answers that were probably given to her. You could see the similarities between the two debates in that neither O'Donnell or Sarah ever offered any detail to their answers, tried to go on the offense, and avoided questions they didn't have answers to by changing the subject. Avoiding the answers I thought was particularly evident when Blitzer asked her to explain her views on evolution. They obviously prepared her for such questions by saying it was a State issue and not a Federal issue that she wouldn't be addressing in the Senate. Blitzer should have made her still answer the question by stating it could still be a Federal issue, the selection of Supreme Court judges by the Senate would make it an issue, and the voters had a right to know where she stood.
ReplyDeleteIf Christine O'Donnell had sufficient brains to simulate Sarah Palin's word salad, she might be a formidable candidate. Fortunately, O'Donnell's brains are NOT up to the job. She can't even get people talking about "how pretty she is". Poor O'Donnell has to actually discuss actual politics.
ReplyDeleteAfghanistan, Soviets, fighting... tell us more, O'Donnell. After you dig that hole deep enough, you can go back to work on your "witch" problem.
she's going to lose the election and it's going to reflect in a great way on palin. she offers up a couple of her flunkies for a training session... and odonnell LOSES.
ReplyDeletegreat move, palin! the country thanks you for making it clear that your team SUCKS.
you're not good enough for america, and you'll never be good enough for america.
There was a striking resemblance between Palin debate style and COD's. I concluded COD is more informed than Palin for the McCain team had to devise a scheme for Palin to not answer the questions and they pulled a rabbit (Joe the Plumber ) out of a hat in another desperate distraction due to Palin's incompetency.
ReplyDeleteWe could not expect much from a VP candidate who could not remember the other candidate's last name. McCain and Palin made jackasses of themselves running their dumb Joe scheme.
I'd say Randy Schuneman is the one to call to come up with scams and schemes for the unqualified. He might be some hero for saving McCain from a national catastrophic debacle.
The tragic news is they did not learn their lesson that it did not work in 2008.
Re evolution -- O'Donnell demonstrates that aping is human.
ReplyDeleteAll O'Donnell did was spout right wing talking points, lie, and further prove she is not fit to hold the position of United States Senator.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing that she did better than expected and it reminded me of the reactions to Palin's VP debates. When doing better than expected is simply being able to walk to the podium without falling down and then not throwing up on yourself that proves the bar is pretty low nowdays in regards to debate performance.
But she lied and got in a few shots on Coons so that was enough red meat for the Tea Partiers, the rest of us not so much.
I hope Coons leaves this shrill harpy in the dust on election day. Delaware voters surely see through her dodging and evasions and blame-casting, right?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Bible People would insist astrology be taught side-by-side with astronomy?
ReplyDeleteI hope neither Sarah or Christine are not paying much for their debate preparation because they are simply being told if you don't want to answer the question, either say "I'll get back to you", simply refuse to answer the question, or ignore the question and proceed with talking points.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, admitting to dabbling in witchcraft creates, at least for me, a greater margin of respect.
ReplyDeleteIt tells me that you don't accept or do something "because everyone else does it" (or, in some cases, this IS the case, because all of your friends did it.) It tells me that you question the world around you, and are willing to try new things and experiment for yourself to see what really works and what doesn't.
However. Feeling forced to publicly deny, over and over, and distance yourself from your past experiences in order to "fit in" with the people you are attempting to impress has the opposite effect- it makes me disgusted in you.
The past is past. The question is, what have you learned from it?
In this case the answer is: apparently nothing.
One glaring example of O'Donnell's stupidity is her apparent failure to reflect on the fact that these 2 geniuses could not help Palin to win. Both women are prime examples of the adage that no one can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Like Palin, she couldn't come up with an original idea other than stale GOP talking points if her life depended on it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if it's true that the eyes are the window to the soul, O'Donnell's goofy, Jerry Lewis eyes expose hers in all of her intellectual bankruptcy and insanity. In Lewis's case, it was an act, but for her, it's the real deal. Palin's eyes reflect her own vacuity, especially when she has to do something besides being the GOP's attack dog.
