Sarah Palin to audience in Canada: “When I do run again I will be more rogue.”

Palin has played coy with Americna audiences concerning her potential candidacy in 2012.

However while giving a speech in Canada yesterday, Sister Sarah felt no need to hide the obvious.

First she took on a recent story in the National Examiner that she and Todd had reached a financial agreement to stay together for appearances sake:

She joked that when she told her husband that the story said he might be getting $20-million out of the settlement, he thought it sounded good.

“Write me the cheque,” she quoted him as saying.

(For the record, while I had never heard an exact dollar amount, I also heard from a number of  sources that Todd had reached a lucrative deal to play house with the Grizzled Mama at least until after the 2012 elections.)

Next Palin goes on to make perhaps one of the most hypocritical statements to ever fall out of her overly botoxed lips:

“One of my favourite signs at one of the Tea Party rallies said: ‘My kid is not my ATM.’ And that’s right. What we are seeing is generational theft. It’s completely unethical.”

Unbelievable!

However it was after the speech during the $500 a pop Q&A that Palin let the cat  wriggle completely out of the bag:

After her 30-minute speech, Ms. Palin agreed to take questions from audience members who paid up to $500 each to attend. Many of the queries from the floor allowed the former Republican vice-presidential candidate to tee off on the “lame stream media.” She seemed to agree with one person who suggested she allowed herself to be too programmed by Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s handlers during the pair’s bid for the White House.

“Thanks for the advice,” said Ms. Palin, at the event ostensibly to plug her book Going Rogue. “When I do run again I will be more rogue.”

So there you have it kids.  There does not seem to be any equivocation there, Palin is DEFINITELY going to run.

We can go back and forth on the "will she or won't she" business forever (and everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, of course), but the fact is that Palin MUST act as if she is running in order to stay relevant. She only has a few more months to do so. Every minute = cash money from fools, so she'll work it for all it's worth.

Personally, I believe that the most she will do is to announce a run and then quit before the heat gets too high. However, there are hoops she'd have to jump through just to announce, and we all know she's not much for hard work and scrutiny...

Good gosh, how can she get any more rogue without being committed? Hmmm - well, if she insists . . . .

As to the Todd bit, there is always a grain in truth in humor so I don't doubt she is paying him off. Who in their right mind would willingly live that her? (or him?) (Poor kids, they mostly don't have a choice - but I figure they are too far gone in the Koolaid brigade to know how bad off they are.)

I am so tired of the poop Palin excretes every time she screeches. She thinks she is being cute.No way will she ever be or act cute ever again. That ship sailed years ago.

Hey - does she realize that Michelle Bachmann is out-earning her in terms of contributions? Sarah is a has-been even now. Gosh, even wacky Christine is outstripping her in donations. Poor Sarah - Left Behind on so many levels in so many ways (and deservedly so, in my opinion).

Maybe this explains why Todd is such a bully - he's not being a loving, supportive husband, he's being paid as a body guard.

Makes sense. Too bad he's not very good at either role. I'd feel sorry for him, being emasculated like he is by Sarah's public treatment of him - but he's a big boy who needs to wise up and move on while he still has some shred of manhood left.

I still don't believe she will run. She's posturing to make more money. I believe the only way she will run is if she figures sha can make a bundle by running. She has to know she has no chance of winning. And she will receive more scrutiny than ever. Scrutiny is something Sarah can't take.

Gosh, do you think we could pay Canadian border guards to deny her re-entry to the states next time she crosses over? I'd contribute. No offense or ill will to Canada of course - maybe they could just ship her off to parts unknown. She could set up her own government on an ice berg while it heads south. Let her fight for survival with all the polar bears she's condemned to suffering (and if there is karmic justice, maybe a few wolves would be roaming there as well).

I believe she fired the chef in the Governor's mansion because she didn't want anyone privy to the real family dynamics. Not to mention that she hasn't taken anytime to study any aspects of our country's history. Why did she raise so much money last quarter? Her fans believe she will run. She has to keep up that charade to keep the money pouring in. And you know what? Those who give this idiot money to spew her hatred, deserve to be swindled.

  16. It was clear she was going to run all along, she has delusions of grandeur. That is the reason she put people in place to cover her butt in Alaska. She has been guided all along by her handlers. Apparently Sarah is not a very good handler herself, Joe Miller did not get any help with cover. They left him just blowing in the wind. Why? Because he was not forthright with his support of Palin. I think the real Republicans are going to come up with a candidate who has an air of sanity and competence (for the Republicans that is) to block her from winning the Republican candidacy for president. This will be a guy (most likely male) who will continue to push their same agenda, but will look good to them because he is not Sarah Palin, so they will get him nominated.

Palin was likely planning to make a big announcement with lots of hoopla. She would want a stage moment with Beck and O'Reilly having wet dreams as they gushed over her on camera as she made the announcement.

Palin just slipped, and now the world knows she is running in 2012.

  20. Sarah is opening up her information pipeline more and more.... Smacks of the public's need for more information to continue their interest in her. Think about how new information just gets everyone excited. It is very sad as I feel she is being marginalized and most likely depending on the outcome of this election in 2010...put out to pasture.

I think one juicy dirty secret would put an end to this misery!

I think all of this will she or won't she is feeding into the Grifter's game like most reasonable people know. Its never been about a serious run. It has always been about $$$$$$$$$$$. Yes, power somewhat (she only wants to smash her enemies like bugs) plays into it too; but other people's power--. It's the money and attention. She can't get enough of either---and one or both of them will be her downfall.

When they deemed the Alaska Fund Trust illegal . . .the next day she set up another one. All the attention, attention and money money would come to a screeching halt if she said she was not running. This woman will NEVER make a true run. Oh she'll crap out that "if the people want me to run" What people? The 20% whackjobs who lick posters of her?

So let us just say for now Sarah is on her same course--to wrest every penny she can from the dimwitted and delusional. If that involves her invoking the name Reagan till she's blue in the face and Nancy Reagan wants to throttle her, demanding she get Secret Service protection even earlier than President Obama had to and screeching at more of her notorious klan rallies--that's what she'll do.

But its all about the $$$$$$.

She obviously had no idea what being Vice President entailed. I have no reason to think she has any more of a clue about what being President involves. She probably thinks that she'll just be able to fire her Secret Service detail and the staff from the White House living quarters. There is also still the lesson that Sarah hasn't learned yet, and that is to be a team player.
As VP candidate she had only one very simple job, support McCain's platform 24/7.
    She couldn't do that.
She couldn't get along with her own Repblican controled legislature in her half terma as Gov.
Evan as POTUS you are still a part of a team, and going it along, not being in concert with your party and your electorate has, as Obama has learned, some real down side.

Ever seen what happens to a quarter back when his offensive line has lost faith in him?

Palins' comments in that speech were infuriating. She talks about the "little guy" and "mama grizzlies", but also about "small government" and letting business people run the economy because "they know what they are doing." She is clearly ignorant of history and the conditions that led to the passage of things like child labor laws. Does she really want to return to a time when children are used as cheep labor because that's what the business people say is good for business and "they know what they are doing'?! Are mama grizzlies o.k. with sending their children off to work in an unregulated, wild-west, free-for-all economy. It makes me want to scream.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous1:33 PM

Yeah, because we all know how hard she's worked to increase her worldview and bonafides these past two years. . .

I came across this great gem in some Jack London references:

Edna Wyman wants a job as a newspaper reporter but has no experience. The editor of the Intelligencer tells her, "You are undrilled, undisciplined, unhammered into shape. You have received a high-school education, and possibly topped it off with normal school or college. You have stood well in English. Your friends have all told you how cleverly you write. . . .You think you can do newspaper work and you want me to put you on." He says there are no openings but he has no time to serve as an instructor in journalism. (This scenario is so ageless it remains a common editor-to-prospective-reporter even today.)

All this applies to Sarah, except that her 'normal college' wasn't normal and is still questionable. And of course, she doesn't do well with English. The bots thought her clever and ready to command as opposed to Obama, who would need instruction on how to lead.

That this woman even has a place in this world outside the Valley is beyond me. It is ludicrous. She is in league with Heidi Montag, not Margaret Thatcher.

She is proof that unimaginable wealth and support behind the scenes can't polish a turd.

She'll run because she loves the idea of being president, of having the title and the power, but she certainly doesn't have the stamina (or desire) to actually do the job.

@Anon 11:09 I agree. She has to tease the run to keep relevant. Gives new meaning to "take the money and run," eh? If I had 10 million or so in the bank, I think I just might go home and watch TV and go shopping and rally 'round occasionally to "speak" when the price was right. The Peter Principle must apply here; she will reach the pinnacle of her ability and stay there. Not a bad gig, and I'll give her credit for playing it to the limit.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous3:29 PM

If Palin isn't going to run then why did she spend $255,000 in one quarter for "consultants"? That's a lot of money especially for somebody who won't hand out a $5 tip or pay to have her hair done. (Although that expenditure does make me wonder if there's some sort of money laundering going on as Gryphen wondered about in his earlier post). Not that she's benefited from the consulting. Maybe she's using consultants to try to pick up info for her Faux gig.

If she runs, I think the rogue-y part would be that she'd refuse press conferences, refuse debates and only talk through Faux. President Obama would tear her up in a debate but could say the same for VP Biden - except she made her own rules in that debate. I'm hoping that baggers go down in flames in November, then we may see the beginning of the end to this crapola.

Palin isn't going to go away. She's found her calling. She'll be able to rake enough $$$ in every year to stay ahead of the hounds and get attention. Unless somebody steps out of the shadows and speaks up.

    ReplyDelete
  53. As others have said, she has to act as if she will run. If she announced she would definitely not run for POTUS, her earning potential would plummet.

However, I suspect that well before 2012 it will be clear that she has no chance of winning. Even with support from, say, 40% of Republicans, the Republican big shots, who are good capitalists, won't be throwing millions of dollars at a loser for the sake of her supposed "principles," particularly since they know she has none. As soon as she becomes an obstacle to actually electing a Republican, the word will go out to the media herd that she is unelectable, and she will be ignored.

You Canadians who say you are ashamed that a few of your countrymen/women paid to hear her-- please! Stop rubbing our noses in our shame that she was the VP nominee of a major party and almost half of America voted for the ticket!

I got yet ANOTHER email from newsmax begging me to watch the Palin interview. They even provided a link with a "free" 5 minute sneak peak and an offer for a free copy of her book. What crap.

As far as her running, I've always said no, she won't run, but if she does run, she'll drop out quickly. I don't bother looking for clues in her comments, because she lies all the time.

If Sarah Palin ran for prez, and stuck it out longer than 15 minutes, it would be really, really good for the Democratic Party. We'd get more access to her, and more opportunity to rip her apart. She'd become the face of the GOP, along with O'Donnell and others. But the GOP is not that stupid, they're not going to let their brand be these fools. The GOP will groom a new presidential candidate out of this new batch in the midterms, and then as 2012 approaches, they'll use people like Palin to dance around like the clowns they are and point to the real candidate - look at this guy! Vote for him! He's a commonsense Conservative! That's how THAT'S going down.

As crazy as it sounds, I actually respect Bachmann more than Palin. On some level, I think Bachmann is sincere. Palin is pure opportunist. The only values Palin has are the price tags she places on her appearances. I figured her out real quick. She's gross and getting grosser.

Sarah Palin will never be president of the United States. She can run in the primaries and she can beg for the nomination, but she can not be a candidate for president on the Republican ticket.

    Why?

Because she is stupid. Her level of intelligence is insufficient. Her mental function is inadequate.

Additionally, McCain's staffers discussed whether she was "mentally unstable". Perhaps you remember:

Tom Eagleton, whom McGovern ultimately chose, with only a minimal background check. Eagleton made no mention of his earlier hospitalizations, and in fact decided with his wife to keep them secret from McGovern while he was flying to his first meeting with the Presidential nominee.

Okay, Canadians - it isn't just that a few hundred people were willing to spend the money to see her speak. Someone in Canada paid a speaking fee ($100,000?), a private jet and a couple thousand in lodging and expenses.
You guys all have the same issues, churches, phony-baloney politicians that we do. I think it's completely creepy and bizarre that Sarah has any audience at all in Canada. Why?

This is not the first time I've pointed this out, but there are a couple of states that don't/won't support Sarah's paid gigs: Alaska and Hawaii. Take that for what it's worth. Sarah can't drive around her own home town.

5:16, I don't think Palin "handled" anybody. That's the wrong word. What Palin does is refuse to go along with the expected rules. In a debate, questions are asked and answered. That's standard. However, Palin can't do that so she refuses and instead grandstands.

I think normal people are both shocked at the hubris and yet too polite to put her in her place. She gets away with her games, first, because she's a pretty woman and, second, because even politicians are not assholes like her.

We don't need our leaders to be assholes. It just doesn't work. You need look no further than Palin's failures as mayor and governor to understand that.

So, what did she claim to have under her fingernails THIS time?

After "caribou blood" and "wild blueberries", I'm expecting seal blubber, polar bear grease, moose entrails, etc..

She carried that writing on the hand "joke" for months, so I'm expecting a good long run of explanations for dirty nails.

1:54 AM, You know what was said about her not being clean several years ago. What is under her nails? Dirt from not washing.

If what she means by going "more rogue" is more of what she did to help McCain lose the election, it will do even more to ensure that she never becomes president. She does look wackier and wackier in each successive photo I've observed, and she more than proves Albert Einstein's definition of insanity. He defined it as doing the same thing and expecting a different result. The fact that anyone places any credence on one thing this cretin has to say should be a major source of embarrassment to the United States.

On one hand, I could see why she wouldn't run, since being a grifter has been so lucrative. On the other, her ego and ambition hugely outstrip both her intellect and her knowledge of either national or international affairs. She is delusional, with equally delusional followers who have convinced her that she is equal to challenging president Obama. They have always tried to draw a non-existent equivalency between the two, in spite of his nearly 2 years in an office with responsibilities that dwarf all of hers as both mayor and governor put together.

If she ran for president, I predict that the hatred and division she currently stirs up will be nothing compared to all the vitriol she will generate if she does run. Hopefully, the results of the 2010 elections will be a far cry from what the GOP expects, in which case she will quickly become irrelevant. The day she does become irrelevant can't come too soon.
