From the Homer News:
Republican Party candidate for U.S. Senate Joe Miller canceled a planned appearance today at the Anchor River Inn in Anchor Point. Miller will not visit the lower Kenai Peninsula today and will stay in Anchorage.
"We are very sorry we had to cancel this event," said Harmony Shields, Miller's scheduler.
Miller canceled his trip to deal with an incident that happened on Sunday in Anchorage, Shields said. She referred to a campaign appearance at Central Junior High School in Anchorage in which security guards from Drop Zone Security hired by Miller handcuffed and detained Alaska Dispatch editor and reporter Tony Hopfinger.
Uh oh! It looks like Teabagger Joe is having a wee bit o' trouble with the "lamestream media."
Gee I wonder if THIS revelation from the ADN might have anything to do with that cancellation?
.....the Army says that two of the guards who assisted in the arrest of the journalist and who tried to prevent two other reporters from filming the detention were active-duty soldiers moonlighting for Miller's security contractor, the Drop Zone, a Spenard surplus store and protection service.
The soldiers, Spc. Tyler Ellingboe, 22, and Sgt. Alexander Valdez, 31, are assigned to the 3rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Fort Richardson. Maj. Bill Coppernoll, the public affairs officer for the Army in Alaska, said the two soldiers did not have permission from their current chain of command to work for the Drop Zone, but the Army was still researching whether previous company or brigade commanders authorized their employment.
I am sure it will come as no surprise that the owner, and head skinhead, of the "Drop Zone" was just brimming over with compassion for his employees.
Miller's chief guard at the Middle School event, Drop Zone owner William Fulton, said it wasn't his job to ensure soldiers complied with the regulations, though he said he informs them of their duty.
"They're adults -- they are responsible for themselves," Fulton said.
He said the two soldiers called him Monday and said they may be in trouble.
Yep these guys are quite a class act aren't they?
BTW if you read the whole ADN article you will notice that THEY also realized that Miller lied about the school requiring that he hire security for the event.
The "great white Alaskan hope" of the Teabagers, a liar? Say it ain't so, Joe!
What da matter Gestapo Joe? Feelin' a little heat there? Thinking that in order to MAN UP you might want to call Paylin and ask to borrow her cojones?
ReplyDeleteReich wingers are hilarious! They love that constitution and them freedoms you betcha, until they become a little inconvenient. Then? Not so much.
If Fulton were operating a 'licensed' security firm he might have some obligations, but since he's only operating a trade firm . . .
ReplyDeleteThis just gets better and better.
You all there in Alaska, you cannot let this clown become a US Senator!!
ReplyDeleteYou could not make this shit up!
ReplyDeleteAlaska needs to give Gestapo Joe an eviction notice back to Kansas. Or maybe he can take his wife and twenty four children to Sarah's new Montana digs. I'm sure Joe could find some militia groups there along with Todd.
What--no word yet from Sarah about her protege? Hmmm. Anyone notice Joe's fortunes certainly have changed since he didn't endorse The Screech for the presidency?!
Naaahhh. lol.
Haha.
ReplyDeleteGryph, you guys need to send the short bus out and collect Joe & Co. Send 'em to Afghanistan and drop 'em off.
On another note, the more I think about his comment, that he would not be answering any questions regarding his experience and/or background until AFTER he is elected...this really burns me up.
And it should be a question posed to every one of his supporters when engaged in a conversation. If I were to support a candidate that made this type of statement - it would DEFINITELY make me pause.
A couple of weeks ago I referred to this guy as Sloppy Joe. In retrospect I believe that was a grave injustice to loose meat sandwiches. My apologies.
ReplyDeleteLet the spin begin...
ReplyDeleteWonder what else Joe will have to bow out of as he has his hands full at the moment?
I find it interesting that he lies over the littlest things. We can only expect bigger lies on things that really matter.
ReplyDeleteOf course Joe will say it ain't so, and by now nobody will believe him. I'd have a milligram of respect for him if he once confessed before being backed into a corner.
ReplyDeleteJoe is a pathetic joke. Glad to see the truth about him is finally coming out front.
ReplyDeleteTo think that Sarah Palin tried to foist such a loser on Alaska is yet another strike against her. She never has had, doesn't have, and never will have Alaska's best interests at heart.
Sure wish people would be as forthcoming with information about Sarah as they have been with Joe. Perhaps this will encourage them to do so if Joe's candidacy is scrubbed because people who cared gave tips that tripped him up and exposed his lies to the light.
It's a never-ending train wreck.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Joe because of all the vitrol out against him, but he has flaunted the media and people in general since the start of this train wreck of a campaign.
ReplyDeleteWill the TP learn and only get stronger whiel reenforcing their ideas? They don't seem like they are willing to compromise and Queen Ester is claiming that she will form her own party if the REpublicans don't buck up and hop on her truck. Do they vet their candidates AT ALL? (It all started with McCain. . .)
I REALLY hurt for the Spc and the Sgt-- they are getting thrown under the train or the bus or I guess in Joe's case, the tank, along with Fulton and Joe, Joe being under Sarah's bus. Very sad. How will this impact their careers? These people ahev to think no matter what their job is.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/10/19/911676/-Breaking:-Joe-Miller-is-a-Tax-Cheat
ReplyDeletePlease, call or email your congressperson & senators and demand a thorough investigation by the Army of the two soldiers. And include an investigation by the FBI for civil rights violation and false imprisonment while acting under color of authority.
ReplyDeleteSwift and effective action on the part of the Army and the FBI, might convince the two soldiers to come clean with more details about Storming Joe.
Without citizen outrage this incident will take months to unfold.
Two weeks out and the wind is changing!
Joe Miller has certainly gotten himself in some very deep shit. Another day another scandal and not a peep from Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI am making another donation to McAdams!
Miller and all the other baggers need to get to the general election without talking to the press. They seem to be smart enough to realize they are not in line with the general public, and their odd political views will not stand the light of day for the vast majority of the public. Palin's VP campaign was the model for this.
ReplyDeleteI cannot keep up with the developments. There's a great diary up on the DailyKos right now that explains why Joe may have been late filing those financial disclosure documents: tax evasion? http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/10/19/911676/-Breaking:-Joe-Millers-Big-Tax-Evasion-Problem
ReplyDeleteI really think Joe needs a time out. He's been a bad bad boy. LOL
ReplyDeleteI do think each of us as concerned citizens should add pressure to the Dept of Safety Commissioner to research and see if any of these people had the right to even play security guard. We know they didn't have a business license or workers comp. Were they bonded at all? I doubt it. And armed security (which they are in their photos) require certain criteria be met.
What? No comment from Toad? Does he still want that endorsement for $carah? BWAAAAAAA HA HA
ReplyDeleteJoe's bad day just got worse, and the Drop Zone dude shows what is underneath the skin of these pseudo-warriors: 100% PURE COWARDICE. The guy couldn't wait to abandon the two soldiers. He not only threw them under the bus. He got in and drove it over their bodies!
ReplyDeleteI'm having too much fun following the antics of Joe "Slick" Miller.
Joe tax problem is covered at KOS.
ReplyDeleteHope it makes the front page of ADN.
TAX CHEAT for Senator!
Wild guess: the "troops" (God bless them for protecting our freedoms) didn't worry about regulations because they were to be paid in cash by the reactionary, unlicensed, tax-evading, security contractor.
ReplyDeleteObviously, they never expected any reporters to show up, or that there would be questions, or arrests, or that they would end up on You Tube.
Say it ain't so Joe is the gift that keeps on giving, huh?
ReplyDeleteIt is remarkable how the "sink the Miller campaign" plan came together.
ReplyDelete1) Candidate fails to file public disclosures
2) Candidate get mega-backing to win primary (T-party & Palin)
3) Candidate make outlandish & incorrect policy statements ie, privatize social security, we're protecting the constitution (except parts we don't agree with),
4) Candidate in auto accident while on cell phone
5) Candidate NOT disclose state & federal benefits received while promoting elimination of those same benefits for others
6) Candidate NOT disclose accurate employment history
7) Candidate refuse to answer questions from press & voters
8) Candidate rent school for "public" town hall meeting with voters
9) Candidate hires non-licensed or illegal security for event
10) Security team handcuffs & detains journalist
11) Spin & Rinse cycle sends candidate Down the Drain!~!
Go Scott Go !!!
SO where is the Queen of Pee? Jerk Joe has been all over the headlines and no sight of his mentor. Did her plane get lost between stops on the bus tour?
ReplyDeleteJoe could not make it to Anchor Point because his security detail had to go back to thier real jobs!
Joe & family remind me of the Pilgrims....only in the sense that they have a ton of kids and live off of the gov't.
ReplyDeleteDid Sarah use the Army for her, family and house security as well?
ReplyDeleteSpill the beans Sarah. It is less painful if ya yank the band aid off.
I had planned on visiting Alaska until I found out that the United States Army can arrest United States ciizens at public schools in Alaska just for asking questions.
ReplyDeleteIs Alaska one of the 50 states or is it part of Russia or North Korea?
Lets not ignore that these goons were acting as his personal body guard. They apparently were not protecting school property, like monitoring the parking area, and keeping food our of the auditorium etc.
ReplyDeleteAlso too when the goons went after the reporter, Miller wasn't even in the building any more, so who exactly were they protecting?
They weren't protecting Miller anymore, and they weren't protecting the school's property, so what exactly were they doing relative to their contractual duties as employees of Miller and agents of Drop Zone?
What gets me is that these were not off-duty police officers, they were off-duty soldiers. Apart from MP's, of course, who are both, there's a huge difference. Soldiers are trained in armed and unarmed combat within the limits of the laws and conventions of war; police are taught how to deal with citizens and suspects using only necessary force within the bounds of the Constitution and state law. A person properly trained as a police officer has the training to work as a private security guard; a person trained as a soldier does not. Training aside, an aggressive person with quick reflexes may be an excellent soldier but a dangerous cop.
ReplyDeleteJoe should know the difference, and someone should check out his relationship with the employer of these off-duty soldiers. Why was Joe dealing with him and not with a regular security company? Everything Joe does smells suspicious.
In Alaska, United States military force was authorized and used to protect and bring to order a civilian up rise against Senate candidate Joe Miller at an Alaskan public school where a woman journalist was accosted and a male journalist was arrested and detained until civilian law enforcement broke into the school and freed the journalists and school children.
ReplyDeleteNews at 6.
Yes, the soldiers are in trouble. I know that I contacted the Inspector General of the Army and reported it. This was unlawful restraint and it does not matter if civilians press charges or not. Tha Army must investigate and prosecute. Playing army like drop zone and really being in the army are completly different. No compassion for those 2 Hatch act should be known.
ReplyDeleteI am so with the "Mitler" reference. Where does he get off? Time to go Joe.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, add is all the deductions to Joe's tax form and he makes absolutely nothing and pays NO TAXES.
ReplyDeleteanon 2:12 .. the Queen of Pee has been busy endorsing a candidate in a State he's not running in ... bwahahahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://crooksandliars.com/nicole-belle/latest-sarah-palin-fail-she-endorse-0
There she goes again, reading all of them!
Far more concerning to me is the fact the Fulton of Drop Zone is a known member of the Alaska Citizens Militia. Norm Olson, the leader of this group, was formerly head of the Michigan Militia and now resides in the Kenai area. He was kicked out by them as being too extreme. Now he's buddies with Miller and Fulton. What in the hell were 2 members of the US Army doing working for these people. I called the USARAK Public Affairs officer and lodged my displeasure and I hope others do the same. Our army has no business being involved with anti-government militias.
ReplyDeleteGI Joe could become a wealthy man if he wrote a book and told the truth about $p. I bet he knows plenty. Matt Taibbe came up with the GI Joe name, and I just love it. Giving credit where credit is due.
ReplyDeleteGryphen-very funny, hahaha that you wrote "Say it ain't so, Joe!"
ReplyDeleteThank you for your diligence and dediction.
I hope this is good news:

Har...Har....Har.... I spoke to my brother earlier today about the two active duty military folks. He is a retired C-17 Cargo Master from the Air Force... His input was pretty interesting...
ReplyDelete1) These two guys could be court-marshaled by the Army for this activity.
2) They also could be immediately kicked out of the military with a dishonorable discharge from the Army - IMMEDIATELY.
3) They could be discharged immediately by the Army AND referred to the State's AG for further legal action... Ooops !!!
Nothing like pulling the scab off a newly minted deep slice !!!
