Joe Miller's Teabagging supporters are starting to panic!

From ADN:

The plea by Tea Party Express was posted on a website dedicated to rallying voters behind candidates Sarah Palin has endorsed. A spokesman for the California-based group didn't immediately return messages Friday. Miller's campaign also didn't return a message.

The group, in its plea, said "problems are emerging" in Alaska. It cites a poll showing a tight race between Miller, Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Democrat Scott McAdams. It also notes McAdams' recent report of raising $685,000 over eight weeks and an independent group's spending nearly $600,000 to support Murkowski.

"Friends, we worked too hard, spent too much money and accomplished what many thought was unthinkable in helping Joe Miller win the Republican nomination for Senate in Alaska," the plea reads. "We can't let that all go to waste and lose this race."

You know unless they have enough money to buy Miller a conscience, and some ethics, I don't think that throwing money at his campaign is going to do much to solve the problem.  I have not seen a candidate with this many skeletons in their closet since...well since Sarah Palin.

Overwhelmed by the shear number of scandals that keep cropping up around Joe Miller, and desperate to get back on the offensive, the Miller supporters have now decided to simply make up a scandal to use against Lisa Murkowski.

With the Alaska Senate race getting meaner by the day and the fallout spreading far and wide, a Washington, D.C.-based website has entered the fray with allegations incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski "routinely abused cocaine."

A write-in candidate against Joe Miller, the man to whom she lost in the Alaska GOP primary, and Democrat Scott McAdams, Murkowski has faced these accusations before, although never publicly. The claims came up in 2004 and were denied. They were not published at that time because reporters could find no evidence to buttress the allegations. There is still no evidence, but the claims are out there now, and the popular pro-Sarah Palin website Conservatives4Palin.com has joined the fray in pushing the charges and challenging the Anchorage Daily News and the Alaska Dispatch to investigate.

I have lived in Alaska my entire life, and followed politics closely here for the last ten years, and I can say unequivocally that his is bullshit!  There is PLENTY to go after Lisa Murkowski for, including the fact that she allowed energy lobbyists to write her legislation and that she routinely votes against projects that Alaskans desperately need, only a coward wold make up allegations of substance abuse to attack her with!

And now that he has been pulled into the harsh sunlight the source used to make these scurrilous charges is flip flopping like a salmon on a riverbank.

That source, according to the website, is Richard (Rick) J. Helms, a former "crime prevention specialist" for the Anchorage Police Department, an opponent of Murkowski's when she ran for the state House in 1998, and now an attorney in Anchorage. The website says Helms in 1998 told Murkowski that he'd heard she used coke, but that he wouldn't make it a campaign issue. The website went on to quote Helms saying that Murkowski subsequently sent him "a handwritten note a couple of days later with some comments about the party, issues and mentioned that she would hold me to my word regarding me not mentioning the cocaine during our campaign."

In a telephone interview Wednesday, Helms said he didn't think he was quoted accurately. He said the note, which he doesn't have any more, promised to hold him to his word that he wouldn't bring up unsubstantiated accusations of cocaine use. Helms added that he has no idea as to the validity of those accusations.

"I don't have any direct knowledge," he said. "I thought there was something to it, but you never know in these political campaigns."

It is worth noting that the website making these charges is the same one that tried to paint me as a pedophile last September when I broke the story about the Palin's marital woes.  They don't do research so much as simply take things out of context and then invent connections between unrelated pieces of data in an attempt to smear their target.

When it happened to me the guy, Dan Riehl, bragged on his blog about having numerous phone conversations with Sarah Palin's attorney Thomas Van Flein. Who coincidentally now ALSO represents Joe Miller.  Beginning to see the connection?

Now I am not supporting Murkowski's candidacy, and I want every Alaskan who reads this to vote for Scott McAdams, but ALL Alaskans need to tell Joe Miller and his Palin-bot supporters that we will stand up and defend one of our own from the lies and smears that come from outside agitators every goddamn time!

And take note my friends,  if Miller DOES somehow win this thing, that we will continue to see this same kind of vicious attack launched against ANYBODY who dares to point out that he is not doing his job in Washington, or that he is serving Sarah Palin instead of the people of our great state.  You can count on it!

So if you don't want to empower the people who serve at Sarah Palin's beck and call, and are more than willing to make up egregious lies about those who dare challenge their candidates, then you want to vote for the one candidate who can send Joe Miller scurrying back to Palin-ville with his tail between his legs. And that candidate is Democrat, current Sitka mayor, and all around great guy, Scott McAdams.

What's there, 2 weeks left? Anybody want to bet they will be calling Murkowski a whore at some point? And then saying they don't have proof but it's been brought up.

OK Gryphen, I just sent my small contribution to Mr. "McMentum" as AKM so appropriately called Scott McAdams yesterday.
Here in Florida we have a similar three-way situation, but our democrat, Kendrick Meek, cannot win, mainly because of the color of his skin. ARRRGH!
I shall vote for him, though many democrats are throwing their vote to outgoing Gov. Crist, in hopes of stopping Rubio. Good luck to them. They deserve what they will get. I shall stay with MeekMentum, because I cannot not compromise my principles.
We have to keep on pushing for what is right.

With Joe Miller, what you see is not what you get as all his chickens are coming home to roost. From what I read, Joe is a bully. Sarah Palin is more like the mean girl who hangs with the bullies. Probably why she is married to Todd.

But it does not surprise me to hear that Joe is starting a smear campaign against Lisa Murkowski. Anything to get the attention off the things that he has done that make him such a complete and utter hypocrite.

Good Luck Alaska. We have a teabagger running for Governor in Maine that has shot at winning. Here's hoping that we send both teabaggers packing (and not to Washington or Augusta - capital of Maine).

Come election day, everyone needs to grab the old ladies and take the 18 year old babies to the polls. I dragged my 18 year old son down to City Hall the other day and he registered to vote. I'm driving him to the polls on election day to make sure he votes. As in Alaska, we need every vote we can possibly get this year. Unless someone is dying, they better be at the polls on November 2.

GO DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS. VOTE FOR SCOTT MCADAMS.

    And God Bless Lisa Murkowski.

Miller seems like the kind of guy who will take down as many people as possible if he's cornered. Get the popcorn ready.

Joe looks a little red in the eyes in this photo. How devilish in this Halloween season--to match Witchy Chrstine!

Hey, I don't live in AK but gave $15 to McAdams in Sept. Go Scott! I also donated $5 to Alan Grayson's campaign today through ActBlue. I don't have much but I do try to spread it around...

  9. Scott McAdams appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews. He did not mention using Palin's personal tv studio by the family swimmin' hole:)

It will be interesting if COD, Miller and Angle do not win.

OT= The Palin camp may not be 100% confident the reality show will boost her in politics considering it won't be shown until after this election.

The political discussion shows talk about how bizarre mud is slung at the end of campaigns, with the hope that the campaign won't have time to investigate or address the ridiculous allegations yet it leaves the voters with a final concern before voting.

But who would be so stupid to believe such crap? Just like they said Obama palled around with terrorists, was a Muslim, and all the other idiotic BS about him!

Maybe Palin could be the drug (Czar) spokeswoman, since it's obvious she's taking something that causes her to be so manic at times and/or drunk at speeches, after drinking Bailey's in her coffee since 8am!

OT It is sounding like Republicans are holding back on commenting if Palin is qualified. They have a dilemma in knowing she is not qualified, not wanting to alienate her supporters, are aware of her popularity.

I am not a Republican however I hope they would factor in that choosing Palin before resulted in a lost election. The more people saw of Palin and herd her even racists voted for the good of their country. I know Republicans who did not vote for their party choosing to do the right thing for America. Palin presents a difficult situation. She has self generted and was shrewd to quit and go for popularity and money. It is what she has going for her, her 'talent' so to speak (when she is not hunting to feed her family:)

Maybe the party can throw a different unknown into the ring who is not as ignorant as Gov. Palin?

The dickhead who runs c4pee complained that the ADN and Alaska Dispatch weren't interested in pursuing his claims. I wrote and thanked them both - pointing out that if we want to start talking about AK Republicans and rumored drug abuse, let's at least talk about the more interesting ones (Dirty Dan Sullivan, for example - although given what we know for certain about his character you would have to believe every rotten thing they say about him).

Murkowski abused Cocaine. Well somebody told me that the bestiality picture that was circulated by the teabagger running in NY is Miller's wife and a horse. But it's only a rumor of course.

  16. Just like they do with Obama they just make up crazy accusations that a logical person would know are not true. This blocks discussion of the real issues. These candidates can't discuss real issues so they make up lies, since lying is one of their best skills. I am seriously considering walking around Soldotna with a copy of Obama's birth certificate pinned to my jacket.

Great post. But I wonder if Miller - should he get elected - would actually do Palin's bidding, as you suggest. I get the idea, based on his total non-endorsement of $carah for president, that once he gets some power, he will definitely be doing his own thing. And I doubt he'll be working for Alaskans. He may actually "out-rogue" Palin, should he get to D.C.

He really does seem like a pompous little wiener, doesn't he?

  23. Riiiiight ... Lisa Murkowsi ... the epitimoe of the business woman, tailored suit, coifed hair, well-spoken (I don't agree with all her policies, but she is an educated, well-spoken woman), professional demeanor, looks like she is a cocaine user (NOT). This is beyond ridiculous, and yes, very desperate!

Thanks, Gryphen. Like you, I have been watching Alaska politics for a number of years, and have never heard these allegations before. Spreading such malicious and totally unsubstantiated allegations is truly despicable. But then, that is exactly what I would expect from Mr. Miller and Ms. Palin, who, unfortunately for them, have had their misdeeds proven as fact. I may be voting for Scott McAdams this time around, but I like Lisa, she has done a good job, and she certainly deserves better.

Is it a full panic yet?

Van fleen lawsuit threats, and persons unknown (HAHA) making shit up and spreading it by
    Riehl again??

It might be at least a panic!

Generally what they accuse you of- they are doing or have done!

Now this is really amazing- charges of cocaine use by an Alaskan Republican! WTF?

Where are the police to investigate?

Evidence that perhaps it happened before- with no charges filed!!!
Someone is getting away with something!

Wait- the police were there. There was an investigation. There were actually charges filed, and a conviction!

    Just not Lisa. Nick Stepovich.

Featured in some news reports about a rather chaotic Alaska Republican state convention in 2008.( I'm Joe and I Vant to be in charge! That convention). Nick IIRC qouted as saying something about doing the right thing being putting Joe Miller in charge of the state Republican party.

    And in this news report.

    http://www.newsminer.com/view/full_story/5355087/article-Former-Alaska-lawmaker-Stepovich-sentenced-in-drug-case

Stepovich was appointed to the ANGDA by former governor Palin.

Every time these accusations are researched one can see where the inspiration for them comes from.

  27. Gryphen--

I don't understand why you are so suspicious. I mean, don't all political candidates WRITE HANDWRITTEN NOTES to their opponents, saying "Thank you for not making my rampant, uncontrollable, horrific drug problem an issue in this campaign. I am writing this handwritten letter to confirm that we both know that if you DO mention that I'm a crazed dope fiend, I will expose you as a big fibber."

Rush Limbaugh steals prescription pads, slamming oxycontin until he's stone deaf....But an Alaskan used cocaine in the 90s? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I may faint....

I wonder when the next time Joe Miller will call a press conference, announce what ELSE he is not going to talk about, and then run away before anyone can ask questions......

We had the same problem with the tea party last year. They invaded a small upstate NY race last year.
It didn't sit well with us that out of staters by the bus load came in to work on a race. They put over 1/2 million dollars into the race.
They too had shady ethics. campaign signs where they should not be, without permission of owner and a truck that was disabled with a campaign sign within 100 feet of a polling place.
That's what I mean by shady ethics.

I hope all Democrats will demand to know where all the candidates are getting their money and After Nov. we will work to change the law to DEMAND more accountability in donations.

Frankly, I couldn't care less what Murkowski or any other politician does in its free time.
Murkowski's been in the job awhile. One can look at what kind of job she did. If she did the job she did with a raging coke habit and managed to parent two mostly presentable Mighty Mites skier children, well, okay, not too shabby. The end.
The bottom line here - I cannot support Murkowski because of one single recent pivotal issue - repealing the "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" in the U.S. Armed Forces.
It missed by 4 votes in Congress. One of 'em was Lisa's and presumably she may have had some influence on the other 3, if she cared. A big fat "screw you!" to not only the Alaskan constituents she represents, but truly impacting the entire country.
In a time when 'patriotism' is the catch phrase of the day. We are at war. We cannot show additional weakness for our country. We cannot sabotage ourselves further, when the troops representing this country are already in turmoil and demoralized. We cannot prioritize morality checks and homophobic bedroom policies over the safety and well-being of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and all of our service men and women.
Yes, Lisa, even the oil industry and the Republican Party has gay family members serving in the military and straight family members who depend on and are supposed to be a unified front with the gay ones.
Are you all f#cking crazy down there in Washington?
This country cannot bear additional gratuitous division.
It's long past time for all you Republicans to stop setting policy based on your perverted preoccupation with sex.
    - no more growing government with faith-based initiatives
    - no more government handouts to churches
    - no more government "bedroom policing"
    - no more government subsidies to insurance companies for Viagra for middle-age white guys who can't get it up anymore

Sorry, Lisa. I was going to vote for you. But you showed your personal ethics on that one. May God grant that neither your gay son nor your straight one ever be drafted.

Anyone yearn for a photoshopped image of Miller in a Palestinian keffiyeh?

With that messy beard, he's a shoo-in for an Arafat lookalike.

(No intended insult to Palestinians; I'd just like to get Miller's goat and do to him what the Far Right has done to Obama.)
