It appears that this interview was really set up so that Beck could help Palin do more damage control after the Politico article came out that essentially called her, and her staff, amateurish and disorganized.
I can attest to the fact that the article definitely hit a nerve just based on the number of Palin-bots who came over here and chastised me for listening to "anonymous" sources. Palin was clearly seething about the piece and wanted Beck and others to attack it and ridicule the author. In fact in this "interview" Palin even refers to the Politico author, John Martin, as a "punk" and reiterates a threat that she first posted on her Twitter page:

Then she and Glenn attempt to soothe the frazzled nerves of the Teabaggers by assuring them that their candidates will NOT be co-opted by the establishment Republicans if elected, and that the incredible amount of negativity they have heard about Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller, Sharron Angle, and other teabagger candidates has all been made up by the "lamestream media."
Her defense of Joe Miller is especially desperate, and you can hear in her voice just how pissed she is that the Alaska media and bloggers have revealed the vast number of deficiencies in his character before she could get him safely away from prying eyes and ensconced in D.C. where he could then serve as her very own Senatorial pet.
Perhaps one of the oddest exchanges comes at the end when Beck brings up his frustration with Alan Grayson which presents itself as an attack on his attractiveness, and that of course causes Sarah to giggle like a vicious little schoolgirl.
And of course this comes from a woman who recently accepted a gift of pink underwear from that smoldering hunk of man flesh Sheriff Joe Arpaio:

Let's save the Peebots some time arguing that Sarah does not portray herself as a sexual object. Sarah is the one who said that she had to put on her push up bra when she was going to a city council meeting because she needed to get her way. There are female candidates who act like ladies, and then there is Sharon Angle who uses expressions such as "man up," or "Put your man pants on." Any man who was raised to treat a woman with respect ignores those base comments instead of getting into the ring for a wrestling match.
Conclusion: Sarah most certainly does use her sexuality. She wore a thigh high skirt to a memorial service when she would be sitting on the stage and everyone could see just how short it was. Some of her choices in footwear fall into the FM category. And, we all do love the picture of busty Sarah going to a horse race, wearing a thin white t-shirt with a big black padded bra underneath. The candid shots of Sarah visiting Bristol in LA show a major political figure looking like she is heading for the beach in her short shorts. No serious female politician allows herself to look undignified and trashy. Sarah loves the look; she won't change it.

Anon at 7:16 nailed it on the head. Years ago, I worked with the organization, Parents Anonymous, as their children facilitator. Sarah does exhibit traits of an adult who has suffered childhood sexual abuse. For that, I feel sorry for her, but it does not excuse what she does. Sarah needs some serious psychological counseling to deal with this. In the mean time, she needs to stay out of politics until she gets her life in order.

I don't presume to know what Palin's childhood was like, but she seems like she was the cute little girl that her elders praised and patted on the back when she said things they thought were clever and funny. At 46, she is still stuck at the emotional level of someone at least 30 years younger, which is why she can dish out vitriol but can't take it. And contrary to the assertions of an earlier poster, she does flaunt sexuality in place of anything that could remotely be called substantial. She is an embarrassment to women, who have fought long and hard to be judged on merits instead of appearance. There is nothing "feminist" about her. She has benefited from the feminist movement, while portraying one of the reasons it was necessary in the first place.

please, throwing around Psychiatric diagnosis does a real disservice to those who have mental health issues and confuses the public about what those diagnoses mean. Neither Sarah, not Beck have, to my knowledge, been probably diagnosed as to their mental health.

Palin tells the candidates she's supported not to do interviews, which blocks voter's ability to get to know the candidate's views. These are people who could be making major decisions for our country, yet she encourages them to block the vetting process. If she thought these nutbaggers were such good candidates she should be telling them to get out there and stand up for what they believe in. However she knows they're as corrupt and stupid as she is and will quickly display their ignorance if interviewed.

Fans of Sarah Palin have been posting comments with the same theme but haven't noticed that Palin has dramatically worsened over time. Review videos from 2007. Her speeches are reasonably coherent, her manner calm. The theme of "Palin is great, Obama is bad" was not particularly effective in 2008 but NOW it's hopeless. Palin's mental instability is apparent to even a casual observer (whatever the exact diagnosis might be). Yet, Sarah Palin's fans are stuck in the past.

Kids so not look to politicians as people they wish to emulate. They look to celebrities for lives they wish to lead. There is not one decent, respectable politician working today and that is the travesty of America. They're all shady, they all make backroom deals, they all help the Big Guy cheat on taxes...

ReplyDeleteSarah was a introspective bookworm. I've seen many pictures where several kids are sitting around and Sarah is reading a book. She was always outdoors, she hunted with her dad, her home was the goto place for all the neighborhood kids because the Heaths are big family people who enjoy their outdoor, family activities. Neither Chuck nor Sally put up with less than stellar grades and Chuck pushed Sarah to her limit. I have a feeling thats why she doesn't stop.

Regarding parenting there is a litmus test of "integrity"of the Obama family also used for other families and for individuals which balanced individuls use even for Sarah Palin. There are means to evaluate character that rational people use routinely.
Heh...I understand if quality parenting time to you is a toddler in backpack behind a lawnmower, a high school dropout who later dropped out of community college courses, a truant grade schooler dressed up on other peoples money to parade like a show dog as "proof", or a family vacation is having a reality tv family you never met before to "prove" your family comes first surrounded by and orchestrated by Marc Burnett (not your travel agent) and a tv crew, or the kind of "proof" on a private jet stepping off a bus with a half naked infant in the cold called out by a person of good character and standing up that another child, like she, who has a disability "not be treated like a loaf of bread".....well WE JUST CAN'T PROVE IT...YOUR PROOF WILL WIN
PS: I have said this before and I'll say it again..Palin would be better served to have a stylist for her appearance is erratic, too often unprofessional and flat out inappropriate. IMO any person who has financial means who takes a sharpie to a ball cap hat needs her head examined. Her appearance and choice of accesories is chaotic and probably attention seeking...the atention is negative. Her clothes don't even fit right often. I won't start on those wigs.... I agree with the poster who depicted Palin as having 'alters"..you dont' know what she'll show up in.
What can I say about another woman who is grinning having her photo taken with a stranger who has a hard on???? I have heard of this done in strip clubs and I cn't say I'd want any elected official..female representative, much less a POTUS arm in arm with an obvious dick salute!

She has used Trig in the past, despite the fact that she doesn't use her celebrityhood to be a spokesperson on behalf of kids who are similarly afflicted. She has used her son Track when she wants to pull the vet's mom card, in spite of the fact that it was either Iraq or jail for him for cutting the brake lines to school buses. She has definitely put Bristol out there as well, in spite of the fact that most young single mothers don't have a parent with Palin's financial resources. Even if there is a lot I don't know about the private lives of the Obamas, I still stand by what I said in my post. Unlike the Palins, the Obamas give their girls the best possible education. Unlike the Palins,the Obamas have taught their children manners. Mrs. Obama's mother is also a stabilizing force, which was helpful in getting Sasha and Malia acclimated to living in the White House. The fact that 2 of Palin's older children have had brushes with the law should be instructive on just what kind of mother she is. All these facts are well-documented, and you are a fool if you deny any of them. But one common factor among "Peebots," is that they are a reality-denying, self-deceiving group of folks.
As for Palin being an "introspective bookworm," it's obvious that she didn't continue that in adulthood if indeed that was true. Actually, I have to question the kind of education that someone who has demonstrated such an abysmal ignorance received. Palin has not shown any political growth since 2008, and she does not give the impression that she does any kind of significant reading. If she is so "educated," you would think she would have a better grasp of national and world affairs. She also shows an ignorance of American history that is inexcusable in someone who aspires to national office.
If I had been a schoolteacher, and my daughter showed such ignorance in spite of aspiring for an office of national power, I would be truly embarrassed as I would feel that I failed her somehow. I would be even more embarrassed at the fact that she has set a low standard for people like Joe Miller and Sharron Angle who want power but don't feel the need to
face any media that is not automatically friendly, like FOX Noise. I would be equally humiliated that she has tried to make a virtue out of being so ignorant and hateful. Hopefully, the results of the 2010 congressional elections will be the first step toward rendering Palin irrelevant.

ReplyDeleteWhat's interesting is how mental illness manifests itself. We're comfortable with the stereotype of the homeless, muttering, foul-smelling wino on the corner. But what about the well-dressed middle-aged woman in a classic red jacket? Because, believe it not, most people with mental illness are living among us: doctors, teachers, grandmas, lawyers, a former president. People who seek help and take medication can function normally in most cases.
What the Bots must face is their own "illness" because anyone who believes in Sarah Palin is really, really mentally sick.
I know of what I speak. Firsthand knowledge and book learning are amazing things.
