Because I promised this young lady in Wasilla who doesn't get HBO, here is Levi's appearance on Real Time last night.
Watch it quick gang you know how HBO is.
By the way did anybody else notice that Nicolle Wallace was having the vapors around Levi? I swear he could have had his way with her if he wanted to. And hell, maybe he did!
And just in case you didn't notice yet, Sadie has a new post up this morning (Finally, I know!) in which she explains the long absence and promises interesting things to come.

I happened to see this because I usually stream Justin TV for MSNBC, and this was on after Rachel instead of the usual prison series.

ReplyDeleteI was disappointed in Nicole. Yeah, she backed Levi, which I'll take. But otherwise I have no idea what she was saying. She was all squishy in response to Bill's great question: how would you feel if you had helped put McCain/Palin in the White House?

ReplyDeleteI have to say Levi carried himself well on this considering he got a little ribbing at the start and the panel he had to sit with. Bill would have been intimidated me, but Reiner would have made me cancel.

And Dammit that kid is cute as hell. I loved his trojan joke quite frankly hoping maybe now he'll git a Trojan gig!

ReplyDeleteGive the kid a break; he's what, 20 years old? And has to pay $1750/mo child support while Bristol will probably make her first million this year, and for what? She just believes she's better than him.
I hope he's getting legal advice to revisit the child support so he can get on with his ordinary life, get an education, a trade or something that will last him longer than his 15 minutes.
I think it's crummy advice to tell Levi to leave Alaska. Sometimes you need to leave home because the college you love or the job/industry you want is located elsewhere. But for Levi, right now, Alaska is who he is and there's nothing wrong with staying home. He still has some primary maturing to do (and GEDs to pass) and you do that at home.

If Levi is really serious about running for Mayor of Wasilla for a TV reality show or for real, he does need a script. He's cute and charming, but he still doesn't have very much to say. Seriously, now that he's dressed up, looks good and is being shuffled around some TV shows, he needs to say SOMETHING.

I think it's interesting that Levi, while not outing any more of Palin's secrets, is not being a cheerleader either.

8:40, I agree that Levi did quite well. I recognize that he is still very young, but he carried himself well and didn't let himself get intimidated by Bill's silly persistence in talking about wearing condoms. Levi's look @ 2:37 said it all. I felt the same way.

ReplyDeleteAfter all, Sarah didn't really have to do the job anyway, she just signed the checks, ordered the office redecorated, and wrote out the death warrants (kidding). The city manager did all the real work.
I do hope that Levi is serious about obtaining his GED though.

I don't by an inadvertent transposition of the middle and last names because it would have been "Sarah Palin Louise" in that case (based on the ex-parte order).
Maybe the rumors of Todd's settlement were born, not out of a verbal agreement, but a divorce decree.
Hmmmm..... This sounds so Palin.
Clarence Thomas' ex-girlfriend came out with the goods after Ginny Thomas stuck her foot in it with her crazy 7:30-am-on-a-Saturday-morning call to Anita Hill. Maybe Palin's attention-grabbing move to leverage a mentally-ill kid's actions will be her undoing too.
Is the hearing in the Alaska Dispatch case still on for today? What time was it supposed to start? Any updates on this? Not seeing anything on ADN or the Dispatch site.

Anon 8:40, EXCELLENT point about Sarah. I doubt she would have agreed to go on Bill Maher in the first place, but she would have been tweeting her bobblehead off afterward about the mean "LSM" if they'd given her half the ribbing they gave Levi. He might not be too bright, but he seems like an easygoing guy who doesn't mind being the brunt of the joke occasionally. Kinda refreshing!
ReplyDeleteto 10:23, I'm pretty sure Sarah wanted him to remain in the mix. ACcording to Sadie, he and Bristol fought constantly post Tripp and I believe 100% she wanted NOTHING to do with him. I actually believe that to be true from the moment of conception. Remember the JOhnny/Levi myspace convo? In May 08, Levi was pissed. and Bristol was happily involved in family events. Bristol's a family person, and anyone who turns on her family (like in any family) should get a wrath bestowed upon them. If he said the things about my family, my father would have gladly gone to jail for severe abuse or murder. Levi's damn lucky and Barbara Walters was right to call him out.

ReplyDelete"Charlotte Kramer" is the 45th president of the U.S.; she is up for re-election and who else do we meet in this book but "Tara" (rhymes with "Sarah") a rude, trashy woman that is gunning for the White House herself.
How I would have loved to listen in, if Levi and Nicolle had compared notes after the show.
I would have loved it if Nicolle has spilled some serious dirt on SP, however for the sake of her career she knows it is very bad form to trash a former employer.
As a previous commenter remarked, her silence is damning.
I'm not sure I believe that he and Bristol are friends now--didn't she badmouth him on one of those DWTS interviews? And she's always going on about how awful it is to raise Tripp alone. I thought it was classy of Levi to refuse to take potshots at her.

Levi's humor seems to be over the heads of most, if not all, p-bots. Levi is doing great and holding his own just fine. He can always write a memoir after Tripp turns 18. He is doing what he needs to do for now. He is appropriately handling the Bristol situation. She has been harsh, not as classy, maybe she'll learn. Maybe she will stay with the treacherous mean girl schooling from Sarah. Stay tuned to the internet (don't watch TV) to see if her work ethics has kicked in yet (dwts) and if she is adding yet another chin to her next dance routine. Have mercy on poor Mark Ballas. Levi does look like he is over what ever that last engagement was about. Lucky man.
Levi is the perfect Mayoral candidate for a little town in the wilderness like Wasilla. Neither Levi or Bristol would know anyone or anything about a war in the middle east. That must qualify them for something.

Levi perhaps should go to Hollywood and try to parlay his 15 minutes into a cash payday. What he should not do is insinuate himself into any political arena, even the Wasilla mayoral race. Why even mentioning a political future of any sort at this time in his life. He has no high school degree, no political experience, no college experience and really no experience at all except for fathering an illegitimate child with the self-proclaimed promiscuous daughter of former Governor of a lightly populated fringe State.

Even if you don't agree with the politics of everyone on our City Council or the Mayor, one must realize that the change we seek in our governance is not going to come from a 'chaw chewing snowmachining high school drop out naked fame whore single dad.'

Levi, get your GED, then go to college then perhaps run for City Council, then tackle Mayor.

Fame used to be enough for people a decade ago. Enough to make a living for themselves when they didn't have a stellar education, or come from a well-to-do family. Now fame is just the starting block. When comes next is, at times, right out of a Damien movie. You've got the Sara Palins, the Christine O'Donnells, the Glenn Becks, the Dr. Lauras, the Joe the Plumbers, the Tim Tebows.
And the rest of us are just open-mouthed and amazed at it all, week after week. We wonder how any of these people got any legitimacy.
Levi is just small fries in all of this, not really an accomplished grifter. His sister Mercede, seems adrift. One of the things I thought was a bad idea was to actively attempt to reunite with Bristol, because frankly I don't think it's possible and Bristol has shown zero interest. So to say you're trying to do it the last few weeks, I dunno, pretty pointless.
