Remember how I've said that the more Sarah Palin denies something the more likely it is that it's true?

From People Magazine:

A tabloid report that Sarah and Todd Palin were on the verge of a $20-million divorce settlement had her steaming – and him chuckling – the former vice-presidential candidate tells PEOPLE in its new issue.

"I call Todd on the cell phone [from the grocery checkout] and I say, 'Todd, you won't believe this cover!' And he says, 'Twenty million? Write me a check,' " Palin recounts. "He's good about laughing some of that stuff off."

You know it has been a year and almost four months since the day I first reported that the Palins were having marital trouble.  From what I was hearing at the time if you would have told me that Sarah could have convinced Todd to stay in that frigid excuse for a marriage this long I would told you that you were crazy.

Just goes to show that money may not buy happiness, but it does buy obedience.

Even after all of these months Todd is still playing his part, still acting as her guard dog, and still toting her hideous purse.

And they say romance is dead.

The People magazine interviewer was on The Today Show this morning and mentioned a few other items along with the divorce issue, which are to be included in the article.

One I remember is that she reluctantly asked Sarah about the rumours that she had earned (I believe) $12 million last year. Sarah responded that she hasn't earned that even up til now. (We know that's an outright BS lie). When asked how much she has earned, Palin would not answer as she said she was a private citizen now and didn't have to answer it.

Please remember that the Palins have People on speed dial. Articles would appear on the People online site almost instantly after Levi had made an appearance or comment. I don't know if this is the same interviewer, but a previous one spoke out about how much she liked and respected Palin. She was putty in Palin's hands.

Hah! The comments over at People on this thread are hilarious! Also, there was this teaser from the magazine:

"For much more from the Palins – including the first look inside Todd's role in Palin's political work and how they are spending their new earnings – pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday"

    Here's my 2 cents.
I don't think Sarah and Todd have shared a "marital bed" for a number of years. There doesn't seem to be a connection between the two. They are business partners, with a mutual desire for power and money. LOVE does not motivate either of them to do what they do. It seems to be a marriage of convenience, and has been since their wedding day, which occurred when Sarah was already pregnant with Track by Curtis Menard, Jr.
The fact that I've given so much thought to this marriage of two people I particularly dislike, means there is something either wrong with them, or with me! Let's just say, neither one of them exudes love, kindness, or respect.

Once again, Sarah pulls up a past grievance to air - to what purpose?

I guess she's trying to show how she can rise above things, but really, by bringing this up after all this time, it just proves the opposite.

Perhaps in a few years, such an anecdote would make sense to discuss, but now? Not so much.

I don't think Sarah ever loved Todd. She married him because the real love of her life - Curtis Menard, Jr. - would not have her and she was pregnant with his child. And for some sad, pathetic reason, Todd chose to be with her. Now years later, instead of respecting him and loving him for who he is, she is more disgusted with him precisely because he will bend to her will. In her male dominates/female submits crazy ass world, how embarassing for her that her man is not really a man unless you consider him a WO-man. So what to do, dump him and find a real man? But what about her image of a hockey mom from a close loving family. Sh*t, now she is stuck with him. Too bad. So sad. Ha. Ha. I guess God closed that door for you.

Listen, Todd, I know you are trying to be a loving husband and protect and care for Sarah. But the truth is she is just not really that into you. You have time. Leave her ass and find yourself someone who will treat you better than she ever has. Trust me, you will get spousal support and the kids will all definitely choose to live with you!
And if she ever dares to bad mouth you or harm you in any way, remind her that Harpers Collins is waiting.

You can tell their duds are from expensive lines. Reminds me of when they went bananas with the Republican campaign funds to buy clothes for them. No matter how many millions the Palins have, to me they are still very poor. If they weren't hurting so many people, I would feel sorry for them.

Anon. 4:12 said "No matter how many millions the Palins have, to me they are still very poor."

Guess it was about 10 years ago now, I got divorced and went through some very tough times. Even though I lived in a tiny place and downsized nearly everything (rabbit ears for me, no cable -which I still do! By choice!), I barely had money to pay bills, and was sometimes even late with rent.

Even then, I had to admit, I was not 'poor'. So I resisted the urge to feel sorry for myself by thinking about all the things I had that couldn't be taken away from me. My training, my education, my curiosity, the memories of the years I spent abroad and the wonderful experiences I had, the fascinating people I met and interacted with, throughout all my life. My families' steadfastness through goofy things I did. And more recently, the wonderful person I married about five years ago.

I laugh when people write on the blog replies that we're all just jealous. I can without reservation say that if someone actually offered me twelve million dollars to swap my life with Sarah Palin's, I would laugh and say "no way".

My important words for a good marriage (besides love, of course), are respect, humor, adoration, and partnership.

S and T have the partnership thing down (probably in writing signed by Van Flein) but as for the others? Sarah demonstrates little respect for anyone (a trait I find disgusting). Her humor is always at the expense of someone else, not truly funny. She can't adore anyone (including Todd) because, in her mind, to adore someone else means she is not the 'top anointed' and she must be the only adored. She sees adoring as a position of weakness, and she will not be the weak one.

So, yeah, no way am I jealous of that.

These people don't seem to spend any time at home together. With her long stays away from home, their house must feel like a building they check into every once in a while.

I don't know why Sarah Palin chooses this way of life. Her family and marriage obviously are not her priority. Not too many women out there who can fly day after day, stay put for 2-3 days, then fly for weeks all over again, living in suitcases? Most women at 40 want to put down roots and stay home with their family.

Her disconnect with real americans is that she doesn't relate with most american women who would love to retire at 46 and stay home in place of working another day/another dollar kind of pay til 62 years of age.

Much of the Palin Publicity Machine is out there creating publicity for the coming TV program (and that ghost written book). From what we've seen of the coming attractions of the TV show, it is based on the happy family out on holiday in beautiful Alaska. Todd has to be part of the happy family scene, at least for the next few weeks. Todd is the fisherman (Can't have a fish picker born in Texas). When we saw that cold staged family promotion photo where the Palins were defined by their things, Todd was holding the fishing pole (even though he catches fish in nets).

So, we have a couple of possibilities here. People created the story so Sarah could answer with her staged reply, saying she saw the magazine in a supermarket while she was shopping. We know that Sarah doesn't shop for groceries in the supermarket, and the magazine isn't due out until Friday. So, People created a straw dog to produce a reply from Sarah.

Or, there is really some there there. What is interesting is that until now, People Magazine was in Sarah's hip pocket, so I have to wonder why they would write something unflattering about her. But, the Wall Street Journal, owned by Rupert Murdoch called out Sarah for her misstatements. Maybe the worm is starting to turn?

I am a teacher in PA and completely support the effort to make school lunches/snacks more nutritious and less sugary/fatty. Most public schools in the state have already been working on this. (The PRIVATE CHRISTIAN school that Sarah visited, of course, is EXCEPTIONAL- ie. doesn't have do what public schools do, and doesn't have to follow these rules anyway...so what was she flapping her gums about?)

Re: Grocery spotting of People article...since the magazine is not in grocery stores until Friday, and since Sarah was busy baking cookies to bulk up the Christian students who - fortunately - didn't have to be healthy...I'm thinking she is fibbing again.

From the 11/09/10 speech at the Buck school in @Philly:

At one point, the 2008 vice-presidential candidate and icon of conservative feminism said of bedrock beliefs in the Constitution and in the values of freedom that "something
seems to be missing, and especially in the last year or two." or two."

It is this sort of ugly, slanderous hate speech that makes people dislike Palin. This is exactly what has been wrong with her from the beginning. Who the hell does she think she is? What makes her think she is the "better" patriot or understands freedom better than people who disagree with her? Everything Palin accuses others of doing is exactly what she herself does. Why do people admire Sarah Palin for having a DS child(remember, us liberals would just abort if we knew we were having a DS child)?
All she did is birth that baby, and even that is debatable.
She is never home to raise Trig, and not near him on a day to day basis.

Scott Davis is running with his wife, Regina. Finally. It's about time. They're gonna rip. I smell a Pro Class win with a woman! Ha!

Todd's running with Eric Quam. Eric ran last year with Brad Helwig and won the year before with Marc McKenna.

Sarah is only trying to paint the picture of a perfect marriage and a great family life. No coincidence that this is coming out at the same time her stage reality show starts.

Her followers will buy into it hook, line, and sinker while those of us with at least some intelligence know that it is all total bullshit.

Anyone who looks at her travel itinerary can easily see that she is hardly ever home to care for her "special needs" child.
