Sarah Palin's Facebook is no place for anything as anti-Palin as facts or logic.

I am sure that almost all of you have read about the tussle between Sarah Palin and the Wall Street Journal.

If not let me give you a brief update.

In a speech that she delivered Monday Sister Sarah said that food prices "have risen significantly over the past year or so."

Sudeep Reddy of the Wall Street Journal then felt the need to gently correct the Grizzled Mama:

Unlike most U.S. economists and politicians, however, Palin tries to draw the concerns about quantitative easing to inflation today and falls short. She says, “everyone who ever goes out shopping for groceries knows that prices have risen significantly over the past year or so. Pump priming would push them even higher.”

Grocery prices haven’t risen all that significantly, in fact. The consumer price index’s measure of food and beverages for the first nine months of this year showed average annual inflation of less than 0.6%, the slowest pace on record (since the Labor Department started keeping this measure in 1968). Even if you pick a single snapshot — say, September’s year-over-year increase in prices — that was just 1.4%, far better than the 6% annual increase for food prices recorded in September 2008.

Now of course WE all know what happens when somebody DARES to challenge Sarah Palin's (Or in this case, Sarah Palin's ghostwriter's) version of reality.

You get mauled!

On Facebook even!

A "Facebook mauling" if you will!

Check out this snarky title:

Do Wall Street Journal Reporters Read the Wall Street Journal?

Mr. Reddy takes aim at this. He writes: “Grocery prices haven’t risen all that significantly, in fact.” Really? That’s odd, because just last Thursday, November 4, I read an article in Mr. Reddy’s own Wall Street Journal titled “Food Sellers Grit Teeth, Raise Prices: Packagers and Supermarkets Pressured to Pass Along Rising Costs, Even as Consumers Pinch Pennies.”

The article noted that “an inflationary tide is beginning to ripple through America's supermarkets and restaurants…Prices of staples including milk, beef, coffee, cocoa and sugar have risen sharply in recent months.”

Now I realize I’m just a former governor and current housewife from Alaska, but even humble folks like me can read the newspaper. I’m surprised a prestigious reporter for the Wall Street Journal doesn’t.

- Sarah Palin

Yeah Mr. "I got my journalism degree after attending only ONE University!"  Do YOU even READ the paper YOU work at?  Even "just a former Governor and current housewife" is WAY smarter than you!

(You can almost picture all of the little elves who work behind the scenes putting our Palin's Facebook posts high fiving each other for coming up with that one.  "We shur dun showed him din't we Ms. Mansewer?")

Except, like almost ALL Palin Facebook smack downs, THIS one was a little light on something that real journalists call "facts."

So Mr. Reddy fired up his laptop and once again tried to use those pesky facts to correct Caribou Barbie and the dipshits working for her.

The Nov. 4 Wall Street Journal article noted, in its first sentence, “the tamest year of food pricing in nearly two decades.” It does indeed report that supermarkets and restaurants are facing cost pressures that could push their retail prices higher — but it hasn’t happened yet on a large scale. Critics of the Fed’s quantitative easing policy are focused primarily on concerns about potential future inflation.

And just what was Palin's Facebook response to this correction? (You can find that  here.)

Now this whole thing has been well reported, and to be honest I was not going to weigh in on this particularly painful Palin peccadillo.  That was until I read this interesting report of how the Slate's John Dickerson tried to go directly to the source and correct the misinformation:

But readers of Palin's Facebook page may be oblivious to the fact that the Journal article that Palin referenced didn't back up her assertion. Slate's John Dickerson reported that his comments were repeatedly deleted from her page.

"I made this point in a few sentences and posted them on Palin's Facebook page in the space allotted for readers to participate in the conversations she starts," Dickerson wrote. "I wanted to see if any of the other participants would respond, as they sometimes do. They didn't—because within two minutes, my post had been deleted from the steady stream of acclaim from Palin fans congratulating her for tweaking the media and urging her to run for president."

"It's the first time I've been kicked out of a place of worship," he said.

In my opinion that last line does the best job of summing up the kind of support that Sarah Palin attracts better than any other I have ever read.

And as we now know, in "Sarah Palin's Crystal Meth Cathedral", the biggest sin of all is the introduction of facts and logic which refuse to bend to the will of the "Queen Esther of Wasilla."

    Palin/Mansour original statement:

The article noted that “an inflationary tide is beginning to ripple through America’s supermarkets and restaurants … Prices of staples including milk, beef, coffee, cocoa and sugar have risen sharply in recent months.”

This was from Sully's blog, a reader parsed Palin/Mansour's sentance:

Notice that ellipsis? What was in it? Well, she deleted the exact phrase that proves her lie (and which you cite in your post later). The full sentence is:

"An inflationary tide is beginning to ripple through America’s supermarkets and restaurants, threatening to end the tamest year of food pricing in nearly two decades."

The followers of Palin want to be lied to. They are not thinking beyond their support of their idol.

You know, it seems to me she's trying to *upgrade* her image ... with the *reality* show (shining favorable light on her family) and now commenting on what is probably extremely complicated economics ... I think it was also a way to backpedal from her disastrous Couric interview. When she did the famous Palin stare after the question about what newspapers she read, I never thought that it was about *she didn't read them,* per se (maybe not very often, anyway.) I always felt, as street smart as she is, she quickly saw a dangerous question with possible followup, like *oh, and which journalists of the NY Times do you enjoy reading and agree with most?* -- something like that.

Anyway. Now it seems as if she's attempting to repair her image of being someone who *doesn't read* newspapers to someone who not only reads them, but can comment on policy issues *intelligently,* making her seem more like presidential material (thanks to the ghostwriters and puppet masters).

Whatever, Sarah. You're still a dolt.

In simply listening to that evil NPR for a few minutes yesterday, even I knew that the rising prices of corn, et. al., was still not translating into the cereal box at the supermarket. This is the benefit of only a few moments on the airwaves of a trusted news source.

I didn't even get to read the WSJ piece that correlates this futures concern but once again Palin rears her stupid and irresponsible head to scream fire in the movie theater.

How many of her stupid FB fans were saying, "Yes, I have been paying a lot more in grocery prices!" without really having registered this phenomena throughout the year?

Was listening to LSM's NPR again today and enjoyed listening to Kevin Spacey's introduction of Jack Abramoff's character and world-view in the movie portraying that grifting and back-stabbing lobbying culture.

Jack cared as much for his American Indian gaming Tribes as Sarah Palin does for her Alaskan Native constituents. He was working in collusion with the Christian Coalition to fight Tribal Casino's while helping these same Tribes pursue gaming rights. He was a two-faced SOB rain-maker. He also had complete derision of Native American's, calling them names and minimizing them while taking their money.

When Eskimo's were choosing between heating fuel or store bought food items in the face of the State's pump priming with the exorbitant costs of oil per barrel - she took her time addressing this distressing Rural pressure the same way Bush did in response to Katrina. Did she come with resources and to aid the villages by being the State's Chief Executive? No, she hitched a ride with an Evangelical aid group getting her first taste of lear jet luxury and offered baked cookies to the locals. Her visionary solution to lack of economic opportunities? Leave home, leave your family, take a job on the Slope like Toddy. And get rid of all your Tribal leaders and Elders and get fresh talent in with no inkling on how to serve or administer anything. But to Tea Party masses over the last two years, she's been singing a siren song that Government is supposed to be on the People's side so that they can work in their own home towns. . .

You got to admit, as impossible it is to nail Palin down, she is consistent after all. Consistently self-serving, superficial and obdurately un-intelligent.

There's a good line Jack Abramoff was famous for saying, Sarah's had the "Disease of Dullness," and if it weren't for other people propping her up to appear competent and have some ability to lead, she'd still be hauling her toddlers and grandchildren around in their wagons and knocking on doors to ask other Hockey Moms for their votes to keep her on the city council.

But after the turkey pardoning episode [last year I think]I realized that it was more likely that she took people's heads off for even suggesting that she needed to do some things to make herself more publicly presentable.

And sometimes I believe Sarah is such a dumbass, she doesn´t comprehend how her behavior is self-destructive. She is on track to win the mother of all Darwin Awards.

Ha, ha, ha...Sarah Palin's speaking engagements have been reduced to 400 seats at a private school in Pensylvania, where an "anonymous donor" ponied up most of the cash for her fees. This was the best part of the article:

"Plumstead Christian, a K-12 school founded as a Mennonite school in 1948, invited Palin to speak as part of its Founders Forum. Past speakers have included Vice President Dan Quayle and Moral Majority Leader Jerry Fallwell. Palin, who was paid for her appearance, spent the day with students and participated in a $750-a-person fund-raising dinner for the school earlier in the evening at the Cock 'N Bull restaurant in Lahaska. Tickets for her presentation cost $75 to $250."

The COCK N BULL restaurant! Perfect description of a Sarah Palin event ever.

    http://tinyurl.com/2ccm5z6

BTW, the rest of the Palin family are headed to Arizona after the triumph at DWTS. Apparently Willow no longer has use for conventional school, and is planning on being homeschooled with her friend Marissa Morlock. Apparently Willow has missed so much school, that even though she is 16, she is in mostly freshman and sophomore core classes. Technically she should be a junior, or in her third year of high school, but she is classified as a sophomore.

And still, the dumb shits pay Sarah to speak about education. The Palin family has yet to produce a real high school graduate or have one of their children attend college.

Palin has cognitive distortions. She read something and in her brain it was distorted to "all" and came out quite the opposite as what was written. The second problem is that Palin attributes her distortion as being what another person wrote (or said, sometimes did).

Posting a correction or addressing what the author wrote for the rational purpose to be understood accurately triggers an irrational response, defense mechanisms and further distortions and the 'delete' button.

This is characteristic of personality disordered people. Around such a personality you could spend most of your life and time repeting "that is not what I said, wrote did) and the disordered will react declaring you are irrational, you lie, you this and you that. They seek to 'delete' banish, ostracize anyone who does not share their skewed, distorted and often completely backwards misinterpretations of facts. There is no getting through to them and the more one tries the disordered person twists the incoming information (whether verbal or written) and becomes more enraged, hence the "mauling posts". People who think concretely, have not developed beyond child like black and white thinking join the bandwagon and leap to a disordered person's defense. Barf, these are the fan base who shout "Palin hater" or "Bristol Haters" if any one dare object to a behavior or tactic for they are stuck in a zone like a toddler the age of I hate you mommy or I love you mommy emotionally and developmentally arrested.

It is irrelevant, if someone comments truth Bristol forgot the steps" there are those who lash out
shouting "Bristol HATER!" for they can't perceive Bristol be good at some things and also have forgotten her steps. Sarah can't misunderstand something so they delete what does not "fit" to maintain she is all white, all good, smart. It's a reaction to then declare another person is the opposite..stupid, did not read the paper, did not say what they said is stupid.

People who make honest efforts to present accurate information, attribute to each person what he or shee actually said is cognitively distorted to seeking to "destroy or attack Sarah". Then the "mauling posts appear" in dysfunctional defense mechanisms.

Gryphen, I love that term, "mauling posts".

Governor Sarah Palin was priming the pump with ACES while the Oil Companies made hay with top oil prices.

The 'trickle down' affect to rural Alaska with their antiquated power systems running on diesel was that we were paying more than double the average Lower 48 markets.

Village residents suffering from a poor fishing season she did little to address (God help that she goes against Mother Nature, we were meant to just d'il with it and not ask Government to help us out here) had very little cash to spread between food and heating fuel costs.

Those grocery shelves down states may have enjoyed 20 years of steady prices, but not when you have to ship it out by costly air and barge service.

This was Palin's Katrina, to let the villages go cold, dark and hungry while the State's coffers engorged on the tax windfall. Her only effort was to hitchhike on an Evangelical outfits goodwill tour of 40 pound boxes of processed shit (stuff she wants PA students to continue to gorge on in the face of diabetes and obesity levels) where she got her first taste of private luxury air crafts - the only way to fly!

She primed the pump of Oil taxes, shot the load on every man, woman and child that applied for a PFD to buy her ^80% popularity instead of designing a voucher program to direct pay power vendors in appropriate areas hurting and encourage less energy consumption on-the-grid.

She's a self-serving whore at every turn, no matter the issue, no matter the venue.

I HOPE THE GOP'S EFFORTS TO TURN ON SARAH PALIN FAILS.

Why? Well, they created this monster. You don't make a Frankenstein, set him loose on a town and then join in the lynch mob to stop it. You take responsibility for your actions. Susan Collins, yeah, I like you in general, but maybe you should have spoken like this before the election. You're just doing this sh*t now and not before because you wanted all of the foaming mad teabaggers to show up at the polls and benefit your party. Well, eff that and eff you. To paraphrase Colin Powell who incorrectly was paraphrasing the Pottery Barn policy: You broke Sarah Palin, you bought it.

For two years, elected Republicans have sat idly by while she has defecated on our political system, destroyed the political rhetoric with her lies -- Death panels, indeed -- and worked her manicured fingers to the bone to destroy this president, all to gain seats. Which they did. AND NOW they want her to shut up? Well, EFF YOU. You bought this nonsense, you own it. No backpedaling allowed.

I hope she crushes all these people trying to back away from her now that they've gotten what they want from her, I really do.

And then may the president crush her like a grape.

Gryphen already covered that back in August. Just how carefully censored IS Sarah Palin's Facebook?

And the real answer is linked at that IM post and is also referred to by Dickerson in his most recent article.

People magazine is reporting a shocking rumor, something that we have never heard before, The Palin Divorce! (Where have we heard this one before?)

There's a problem with Sarah's quote in the People Magazine. She saw the magazine at the check out counter. Here is the quote: ""I call Todd on the cell phone [from the grocery checkout] and I say, 'Todd, you won't believe this cover!' And he says, 'Twenty million? Write me a check,' " Palin recounts. "He's good about laughing some of that stuff off."

The first question is where was Sarah shopping to see this cover? Does she ever shop at a supermarket? And, the next question is even more troubling. According to the on-line post, the magazine will not be out until Friday. Here is the quote:
For much more from the Palins – including the first look inside Todd's role in Palin's political work and how they are spending their new earnings – pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday"

The other day, Sarah had a dustup with the Wall Street Journal over trivial details like facts. The headline at Huffington Post was "Gotcha" The title for this episode should be "Gotcha again, Sarah." The magazine says that it won't be out until Friday, and it's only Wednesday. Maybe, Since Sarah can see Russia from her house, she can also see People Magazine in the future.

Given the state of Matsu Valley schools and the attitude of the students, I don't blame any parents who homeschools. Many many kids there go that route

  61. I try not to get mad....but I just can't help myself.

Private Citizen Palin rends her garments over the indignity of it all....how poor folks are denied their rights to "free speech."

But when Private Citizen Palin first opened her Wide World of Facebook page, it literally took minutes for every comment I posted to be removed--and then days later, I was blocked from making any comment on her "page."

If you ever wonder why there is so little negative comments to/on Sarah Palin, it's because everyone who makes a negative comment is soon blocked.

So what's the point? I guess unlike Animal House's Flounder, Sarah Palin fans have decided to go through life "fat, drunk, & stupid."

Rebecca's writing has such a sarcastic, mean streak to it. It's easy to spot.

I read the People article- what other tabloid is referenced?

Is this more flinging and flailing by Team Sarah?

The only recent references that I found to an impending Palin divorce- was the divorce after the marriage that never happened for the second time. Bristol and Levi.

Is this just a throwaway comment by Sarah used by Poople magazine to pimp the sales?

Cut her some slack, anon, RAM is a very.....shall we say, frustrated woman. VERY frustrated. After all, she doesn't know if she wants to BE Sarah Palin or DO her. She can't do either, so naturally she is pretty enraged.

How can these people buy into her lame schtick? Does anyone with half a brain believe she's all "good gracious! i never thought about running for prez!" Ugh. Barf.

But it wasn't until the end of her program, that the school's chancellor, Dean Whiteway, returned to the question on everyone's mind: Under what circumstances would she consider running for president?

"Goodness gracious," Palin answered. "I'm speechless."

She said it would take "prayerful consideration and polling of my family" before she would make up her mind on whether to run in 2012. "I would be in it to win it," Palin said. "I wouldn't do it just to shake things up." She added, "I would certainly have to put a lot more thought into it than what I could give you today."

I'm still betting on Sarah to get right up to the cliff of running and then realizing all her secrets are gonna come out and it will be hard work besides and then coming up with some lame excuse such as she can help the country out better by not running. I'm sure she's trying to judge how much of her BS mainstream America is buying. I wonder if then the bots will realize they've been played?
