Bristol Palin, 20-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, has bought a home in Maricopa, an outlying Valley suburb in Pinal County.
Aside from the celebrity buyer, the political family and Dancing With the Stars, the purchase of the five-bedroom house represents a typical real-estate saga in Arizona.
Public records show the home was built in 2006 and bought for $329,560. It went into foreclosure in January of this year.
The Arizona Republic could not reach Bristol Palin to ask whether she plans to become a young snowbird or a full-time Arizonan.
"I'm not sure why she wanted to buy that home, but we are real happy for her," said Michael Smith, 55.
Maricopa County? Well I guess the Palins will feel right at home in an area that elected the racist and civil rights hating Sheriff Arapao.
(Oops it has been pointed out that this house of Bristol's is NOT in Maricopa County. My bad. So perhaps this move has less to do with the man who gave Bristol's Mama pink underwear, and more to do with Teabagger Paul Goser, Governor "headless corpse spotter" Brewer, and John "Get the fuck off my lawn" McCain.)
And now Bristol can hide her burgeoning baby bump from the press and certain inquisitive Alaskan bloggers.
However I do feel bad for Levi ad his family. Their chances to see little Tripp will be few and far between. Damn why didn't that boy get a better lawyer?
I wonder how Gino will handle the hot weather and even hotter media scrutiny now that he has been lassoed into standing up and taking the bullet for Bristol's failure to follow her own "Pause before you Play" message?
And honestly, just what kind of mooseshit are Bristol's handlers going to shovel to explain to the Palin-bots and Candies Foundation how she can make THIS promise in this ridiculous advertisement with the Situation:

I think the Palins are thinking they can get away with just not saying anything about a baby. She picked an unincorporated area to live in which is strange. No school system or city services. Why wouldnt she pick Scottsdale ? Because 173,000 won't buy a nice house. She picked the biggest she could get in the middle of nowhere.
I lived in Phoenix for thirty-five years and I can tell you that Maricopa, Arizona is a cautionary tale, at best.
ReplyDeleteTen years ago it was a rundown dusty conglomeration of less than 3,000 people living in shacks. There was absolutely no reason to drive through it, but if you got lost and found yourself there by accident you'd see crumbling block and adobe houses with lean-to's and dirt yards full of rusting appliances, dead cars and filthy kids. It was a sad little community -- roughly 75% Hispanic and Native American (mostly mixed race and many illegal), 20% White, and 5% Black. The average income in Maricopa was less than $25k a year and 1/3 of the residents lived below the poverty line. In other words, it was a sitting duck for Sheriff Arpaio's vigilantes to round up illegal immigrants so developers could swoop in and bulldoze the "town" to build a dozen "gated communities" full of high priced, poorly built, look-alide McMansions that sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars -- if they sold at all. At one point I think the population rose to nearly 5,000 before the real estate bubble burst and the housing market tanked. I think it was a story in the NYT that referred to Maricopa as "the poster child for the housing collapse" or something very similar.
Now it's back to being a dusty spot in the road, but instead of poor families in crappy block houses, it's full of foreclosures. I'm sure they're bargains, if you don't mind the fact that they were thrown up fast and built to last for maybe twenty years ... and if you don't feel guilty about the fact that they were built on the backs of a couple of thousand displaced poor folks who got run out of town to make room for the wealthy who never actually showed up.
Sounds like the perfect spot for Bristol. Maybe Sarah can run for Mayor.

But it seems to me SP has gotten along fairly well simply not explaining things she doesn't want to explain. I'm still not convinced there's not a third baby around who's not been publicly acknowledged. Maybe. Maybe not. But unless the media know how to get a pregnancy test, if Bristol says she's just "curvy," what is the media going to do? I found out where her house is. It isn't even in Maricopa County. Its in the town of Maricopa which is in Pinal county.
ReplyDeleteIt's about 45 minutes south of Phoenix on the way to Tucson. You can look at google maps. It's very suburban. The closest Phoenix suburb is Ahwatukee. Maricopa is a tiny town with population of 45,000. It does have schools but not many. For here, it is small.
You can google Town of Maricopa. Sorry no Joe Arpaio. It's one area with a VERy high number of foreclosures. That is why she got it for nothing.

That property is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by desert with some mountains in the background. If it's not in the Gila River Pima Indian Reservation, it's right next door. Does Bristol know what it feels like when the temperature reaches 100 degrees in the summer? Well, at least it's a dry heat.
$172,000. is the lower end of the real estate market. I hate to tell her how far away she will be from shopping, entertainment (well, there is the nearby Casino at Wild Horse Pass), and medical care. We know that Bristol isn't interested in an education, cultural activities, it's even quite a drive to watch Spring Training or any of the sports team.
It looks like a hideout from someone trying to escape from...what am I talking about? The Palin family loves publicity. That remote location doesn't make any sense at all.
The house is probably going to be a week end cabin for the Palin clan. It is a depressed area far from the city suffering like may suburbs now are. These two kids are young and inexperienced in life. Their lives thus far have been seeped in indulgence. The location of this house will not help them grow up. They will forever stay deprived of maturity. I feel such pity for them. This is their parents doing thus far. It remains to be seen if the kids ever have the strength to dig up out of the ingnorant lower class hole they are personally in. ReplyDeleteAs a long-time resident of Alaska, I need to take my spouse "outside" at least 3 or 4 times every winter. We've been to Arizona a number of times over the years. She likes the warmth, and I enjoy the desert ecosystem.
We were considering Arizona as a possible retirement spot in about 10 years, but Phoenix and Tucson are too hot for me in the summer, and Flagstaff gets too much snow for my wife. Last spring, we checked out a little place called Prescott, located about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix. At 5,000' above sea level, it's not as hot as Phoenix or as cold as Flagstaff - a nice compromise. It's surrounded by a National Forest, mostly pines. We liked it quite a bit.
Then Jan Brewer and her Gestapo kicked into high gear and the whole place went nuts. After living in Alaska with right-wing nutjobs for 20 years, I'm looking to retire someplace where the general population shares more of my values, of which "hate" is not one of them. And now that the Wasillabillies seem to be descending on Arizona like a biblical plague, we can definitely cross that state off the list.
umm...nothing between Phoenix and Tucson is "the middle of nowhere." The two big cities will practically have grown to each other's borders in another decade or less. The small towns are going to be absorbed by the cancerous development going on in Arizona. Just keep Bristle away from Tucson, because I actually visit there regularly and don't want it polluted by hillbillies. Phoenix is crass and full of assholes. She can shop up there. Maricopa is just one of many examples of developers running wild in Arizona. Scrape everything with a bulldozer, put up thousands of cheap-ass houses that all look the same, sell them to idiots.

It's the city of Maricopa in Pinal County not Maricopa County, but close. It's more a bedroom community to Phoenix. South near Casa Grande. But it's out of the way. Good place to hideout during her "period of confinement"?

I moved to AZ from MN six months ago, and while I love the area, I have already been fairly sad I left behind family and friends in MN. Now this? Even *I* figured out within seconds that the city of Maricopa is, uh, not high-end, how did she purchase a house there and not figure it out? The Palins with all of their race issues should find that new home really fantastic, from what I'm gathering.
This is so totally insane.
I guess the upside is perhaps I need to make a drive down there, if I can finally get *the* pregnant money shot perhaps I can cover my bills for a while? Or at least help make this family go away?

ReplyDeleteThat's what I don't get. Of all the places in the Phoenix metro area she could have chosen, she went with Maricopa Cty? At least she will fit right in. I think people who don't live in AZ are mistaking the entire county of Maricopa which includes Phoenix, with the unincorporated area within it that is technically called 'Maricopa County (for real estate purposes) because it is the only part of the county that has not been chartered as a town or city. Maricopa Cty as a whole is enormous and includes bigger cities like Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, etc. Maricopa county unincorporated is a god-awful area on the far outskirts of the big county and no real estate deal is attractive enough for most people to want to live there--thus, the incredibly high foreclosure rate.

Ihave severa friends who pay child support for kids who live a couple states away. ACtually one sitch is almost identical to L and B minus the famous mom. Including a shit talking family. When the kids (5 and 8) spent a week with their dad, they treated him like shit, verbally abusive to the max. But she did allow them to travel down and spend the week with them.

Why she would be in Arizona I don't know, when it's the polar opposite of Alaska. Other than Florida, which is a humid heat, that place I imagine is the hottest place in the US. The town of Maricopa is in Pinal county, south of Phoenix. This is NOT the high rent district. The vast majority of the homes were built since 2002 when I moved away. The subdivision was approved, but building hadn't started. From the plans I saw, $172K is a reasonable price for the area before the runaway princes.

This is all very fishy. I know that kids from Alaska (Wasilla) like to escape and many go to school in Arizona. Bristol may be setting up a sorority house. She has made big bucks but I thought it was more like half a million. $175 is a chunk of that. She's taking advantage of the foreclosure market in a place like Arizona. Going back to Cindy McCain's father, henchman or hitman for Crime Sync crime bosses, Arizona stinks with crooks. Prime example John McCain and don't forget the Keating Five deals he got out of.

If not a totally arranged relationship, very close to arranged. Would Bristol even know or care if she was being set up again? She didn't explain what she meant when she that she was played by Levi. Levi can't say a word now. Sarah was the big winner after the second engagement to be rid of Levi and to have him 100% gagged. They seemed to take care of Mercede, also, too.
If you want to know more about this deal look at the Paoletti family business and Gino. Rig worker and part time top real estate agent in Anchorage and Wasilla that just happens to weave his Italian Stallion on Bristol? Bristol is likely in on the whole scheme. She can use the house in Arizona as a decoy. I doubt it is all her money going into that purchase.
Arizona has the Grand Canyon. Like Alaska, spectacular geography. In spite of the breathtaking beauty both places are ripe for corruption. The old western theme, dry healthy weather and Sun City business sparked the areas appeal that it was gorgeous, safe and good real estate buys. The other problems surfaced and they were not well addressed. The idiot bullies got the power. Now they are in partnership with corrpupt Alaskans.
There are people in Arizona that want to make big bank. Bristol and Gino Paoletti will be photographed if she is in the Phoenix area and she can leave her encampment. There is no reason for Gino to be camera shy wherever he is. If we only see Bristol in staged settings with the lame script they give her or those phony interviews for bank she could be anyplace as they orchestrate the propaganda. Why no photos of Gino out and about? Why no interviews with him or his real estate family? The Paoletti's aren't agreeing or nixing the Enquirer story because no one is asking them? That is why the Palins get by with so much. Has anyone said they tried to contact Gino or his family and there was no response? No one in Alaska pursues those things.
If the team Sarah is going on with this Gino romance and Bristol is not expanding there will be the romantic shots of the couple taking a stroll in the desert sunset. The paps will be clued in so they can just happen to get that documented. Nothing about this is like happens to other celebrity.

This situation doesn't sound like what a 20 something would pick out and beg cousins and friends to join her. Even with all the bedrooms redone. This is more than to hide out the Bristol belly. That may be how the house is used to start. Are their adjoining lots? How far are the neighbors? What are those homes like? Could this expand into a compound like they did in Alaska?

ReplyDeleteScottsdale and a few places are beautiful and special. That doesn't represent the rest of the state. No one does any features or PR on the garbage around the state. They only sell you on places like Scottsdale. You have to view Arizona with blinders to only see the beautiful parts and ignore the rest.
I live in another beautiful and glorified area with many of great wealth. I've always seen the good and the bad of what is around me. I'm not a Democrat and don't think of myself with a liberal tag. I think there is both good and bad in all humanity and places. I also think it is good to bring up the short comings of both where I live and Arizona.
John McCain is one of the biggest crooks of modern times. He and all his places and people must be "bashed" or what you want to call it. They all deserve the heat and I hope that the truth comes out of it. If trying to get to the truth behind these lies is called bashing, we need more bashing. We know how rich and lovely Scottsdale can be. It is time to rehash the history of the crime syndicate and the part Arizona has played. How did the state become so extreme when it comes to wealth and poverty? How do they treat the workers that are the backbone of the state and those that leave their homes work and to try and feed their families? Can only migration of those like the Palins be well received? They are just another type of immigrant. Do you think Tripp will transfer his native health insurance to Arizona? Will Tripp keep his residence in Wasilla so he can have his medical care where Bristol claims to live?

ReplyDeleteThe Palins are leaving Alaska because Sarah's game is over. The Palins have no future in Alaska. No money to be made in Alaska. Sarah's last book signing in Alaska drew how many people? Under 400 people showed up. Alaska is the largest state in the union and Sarah only attracted under 400 people from the entire state to get a signed book. They can't drive down the street without people pointing and laughing. Alaska has no love for the Palins.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that promoting Bristol in Harper's to portray her as going to college, a lonely single mom working her fingers to the bone (lying by ommission abut another 200K plus in income) later elevating her to running an office (medical practice). that she does it all alone (family does not help her either..she scrimped to buy diapers), rants that Levi is a dead beat (public record he forked over monies), hype she has no time to date (sudden engagement!)...and so forth.
It seems since that portrayal did not work they try plan "B" packing ehr up and off to Hollywood to "dance her mourning away" despite Bristol saying she is not sad after she called teevee stations crying the engagement is broken.
Just sayin' this AZ move may be Plan "C".
Perhaps the Palins are not ever going to comprehend that when they make public spectacles of Bristol, she takes the big bucks for selling hreself and child to advance herself as the teen who got knocked up that they keep digging a hole for this unfortunate single mom. lol the Palins may suffer delusions her move away from AK will protect her (from her calls to media and reality tv for money) not ever grasping fame and going Hollywood will not result in privacy.
It is weird, sad yet I can't help but laugh or catch on the Palins believe they are entitled to things all being as they want it to be. If they are not outright lying they are lying by ommission.

ReplyDeleteHaiti photos were discussed in other threads. Also, too, you can read about garment binding, layering and photo shop. Sarah and Bristol have both had many photos that are there one moment and gone the next. Why bother with that if there is nothing to hide?

ReplyDeleteAny place that has some of the garbage pits Az allows while the wealthy areas get all the attention to attract tourists and money has earned a good bashing. Any place with a track record with mafia murderers and shady business like the Keating deals, deserves to have their history retold until people start to get it. Any place that keeps a Joe Arpaio around is not of good character or it is run over by the corrupt. Any place that elects Brewer can only be famous for the criminally insane.
The bashing or critiques is because of the worst and lowest forms on planet earth. No one is basing the states natural beauty before the bad guys took over. The bashing is for what the scum does to ruin the natural and clean.
There are good people in the state and they would want the wicked to be called out. Tell the truth about Arizona. Yes, beautiful sunsets but that doesn't change what some people have done to a once lovely place. They can't fix it until the problems are acknowledged and cover ups come to an end.

pregnant, I still won't have any respect for her.
If she is pregnant, I never had any respect for
her anyway, so nothing will change. Pregnancies
are easy to get rid of, even 9 month pregnancies.
