Most women who supported Barack Obama will support him again in 2012, ESPECIALLY if his opponent is Sarah Palin. Oooh that has to sting!

From Politico:

The survey, conducted by the Democratic Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group, tested a voting group of crucial importance to Democrats: women who supported Obama in 2008 but stayed home or backed Republicans and third-party candidates this year.

Obama commands 62 percent support among those women, while just 23 percent of that group incline toward a Republican alternative.

Tested against Palin — the lone Republican woman who ranks as a top presidential contender — Obama’s advantage was even more dramatic.

Eighty percent of the women tested in the poll favored the president in a contest against Palin, while just 10 percent said they’d support the former GOP vice presidential candidate.

So just who is Sarah Palin's demographic these days?

She seems to have lost the old school Republicans who are now turning on her in droves.

The Washington D.C. power brokers don't want her.

She has lost the hunters because in her zeal to prove she was a hunter, she proved just the opposite.

She has lost the Alaskan voters because, well because we know her!

She is also rapidly losing the pundits on Fox News.

And now she has completely lost the female voters.

Who is left?

Just the rapidly aging Teabaggers, those with a severe mental disorder, and of course who could forget Palinman?

Of course none of this deters the Grizzled Mama who still believes that SHE is America's last great hope.

"I will run for president if I believe that I have the best shot to win the race," she said in a TV interview with ABC's Barbara Walters.

"I would run if I believe that other candidates willing to put themselves forward in the name of public service, if they don't have a shot at winning, I would offer myself up," she added.

You know if she were not such a truly horrible person, I might even feel badly for her.

Now all I want to do is make sure I have enough popcorn to make it through to the end of this slowly unfolding disaster movie.

This article ties in to her unpopularity...

Palin Overexposure Continues to Alienate Voters (Particularly Women)

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/margie-omero/palin-overexposure-contin_b_797370.html

But while Republicans fought over Palin's endorsement, they viscerally demonized Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Despite these efforts, and a bruising election cycle, this week's Bloomberg poll, shows Speaker Pelosi more popular than Sarah Palin.

Much like Michael Steele's unwelcome bid for re-election as RNC chair, it's unusual to see someone so unpopular considering a run for President. An examination of her numbers easily reveals a self-inflicted wound to her popularity, as if she has been running a negative campaign against herself. It's no wonder both elites and the public feel she is a negative influence on politics.

Palin had no business accepting the V.P. position in 2008, she has done NOTHING to improve her understanding of the world, or this country, for that matter,in the two years since, and she most certainly does not deserve to even be CONSIDERED as a Presidential candidate now. This is an unserious woman. I'm sick to death of the press (and about 23% of some very, very ignorant Americans) even giving her the time of day.

Imagine, if you would, a woman who was capable of taking advice, avoided the spotlight after she quit her governorship, and spent her time diligently studying foreign and economic policy while crafting her image. After two years, she emerges as a candidate for the presidency, polished, informed and invincible.

Thank God the woman doesn't listen for I fear she could have been president!

"Bloomberg poll, shows Speaker Pelosi more popular than Sarah Palin."

Whether people like Pelosi or not, she worked hard and did a good job relative to her responsibilities.
Not to mention that she is literate and articulate, knows policy, and is also a mother of several children.
Sarah however.....is also a mother of several children.

It isn't just that she is a horrible, horrid person. . .she had NO business accepting McCain's offer. NONE!

She brought on the backlash, hell, she deserved it for her flimsy resume and abilities - but for two years she and conservative pundits keep blaming the media and not the source of weakness in a Palin candidacy. Charles Krauthammer may finally be speaking true, but he still peddled that old adage, “the animus to her is unprecedented.”

No it isn't. The attacks on Hillary Clinton were nasty, brutish and brandished with glee and white hot fire. I'm not even a Hillary fan (much) but I respect her bonafides.

Sarah has never belonged in anything beyond Mayor, and that was even taxing to her city and her Administration (even though it wasn't rocket science, she still had to hire a city manager.)

As Governor, her integrity of her platform (as a reformer and something different than the CBC) started leaking like a sieve immediately, in that she hired ill-suited Commissioners, high level administrators and unilaterally imposed unprecedented costs to the State for her lifestyle. Even though she campaigned for the job, she didn't like the impositions the role demanded of her, living in Juneau and spending long days away from her family.

She made the public pay for her choices. How's that for a fiscal conservative?

Why is it okay to pile on liberal politicos like Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, but the conservative wing cry foul when Sarah Palin is properly examined for fitness for office?

I watched Chris Matthews crunch the numbers. NBC/WSJ poll shows Sarah losing to Obama by double digits,55% Obama, 33% Palin. Her unfavorables are up to 50%. Only 11% of the Elite Washington DC Republicans think favorably of her. Her book sales are dropping. That TV program is becoming a punchline. The Haiti trip looks like an ad for Samaritan's Purse, rather than a publicity piece that shows Sarah's global awareness of third world countries.

If the point of this post is to discuss whether women will vote for Sarah or Obama, they will vote for Obama. Secretly, women want the right to make their own medical decisions without government interference. Women are proud of the way Hillary Clinton is serving her country. And, today's women remember the mean girl from high school. She is someone that is never forgotten, and Sarah Palin stirs up those bad teen aged memories. Women see right through her. You guys have to stop falling for those short skirts, high heels, heavy make up, big hair and wink wink lip licking.

The only (very few) women that i know who are still Sarah supporters are those sad, pathetic, wispy women who either do everything their husbands tell them to do (and hubbies are 70+ horny old GOPers), or those girls who would have done ANYTHING to sit at the popular table in the cafeteria. Any woman that I know (in rural PA, so not "Elitist") who has an ounce of self-esteem (or who knows anything about hunting - that SPA episode about hunting finished her for all the true hunting women, who KNOW hunting, guns, etc.and could easily see through the charade) have long since acknowledged Sarah's sell by date.

She is still the same rotten person down deep to the core and no amount of prep-school political training is going to change that. She would be just as dangerous but better at hiding it. We are not that dumb and thankfully her web of lies is starting to unravel. I sure wish the media would stop commenting on her possible running as if it was something that was plausible. Continuing to compare her popularity to Obama is a joke, silly, embarrassing, (wish I had a better vocabulary and knew how to spell ..........let's just say it drives me insane. Anybody with a brain knows she is not as "seriously" popular as the Pres. Sure she is popular to poke fun, she probably takes the mirror ball trophy for that, but it stops there.

She really makes me ill to hear her speak too. Thus, I haven't heard her voice in a year and a half--except when assaulted by it on television adverts for her rotten series. I mute the tv

The winking, fake frontier girl posing, her inability to understand what the first amendment really means, her garbled syntax and senseless babbling, her continual whining that she's being treated unfairly, her attacking the First Lady who has never said one word against her, her racism, the inappropriate clothes, lack of policy knowledge and the using of her children and her basic trashiness makes me know that there is some old nasty rich men (beside Rupert) who are forcing her disgusting visage on us
and won't get her out of our faces until one of her own turns on her.

Some commenters sound disillusioned on this blog. Wah. Pres. Obama hasn't singlehandedly changed the political landscape of the entire USA in 23 months; he hasn't been able to strong arm bankers, rich corporatists, or the Congress during the worst economic recession since the Depression. Nor has he been able to stop the wars generating the American military industrial complex.

And the GOP is sick of Sarah, the flirty frontier winky winky you betcha quitter gal with a DS child. It turns out she's a Viagra fantasy borne by the right. Not real.

Fairy tale narratives are crashing down on both sides.

But I never believed that hope and change would happen without me in the equation. I've been rolling up my sleeves and getting to work for my own convictions. I am actively writing my own narrative, my own tale: of the involved American citizen, seeking change every day for the issues I believe in the most.

I say Palinman still needs a cape and a mask. That guy just plain exudes "doofus loser" and he hasn't a clue that everyone else thinks he's a twit. I wonder how he'll feel when his queen augers in spectacularly? It's a wonder someone so stupid can cross streets without getting flattened.

  38. Some people say that if only Sarah would do this, that, and the other she could become a viable candidate. That's absurd. She doesn't do it because she can't, it isn't in her. If she could, she would have done it already, and she also would be an entirely different person.

And can anyone imagine Clinton winning if he had quit being governor of Arkansas? For no damned reason? Someone on Audrey's site did a search. Only three people ever have quit being governor. Palin is the 3rd. The other two were involved in an erupting sexual scandal.

The media, as usual, never mention this (they call her "Governor"!!!) but surely it would stick in the craw of voters. I consider that alone a complete disqualification.

As an African-American woman, I can honestly say that almost all of us blacks saw her from the beginning for what she is. So, she didn't have to do anything to alienate us. She was never anyone we could even remotely relate to.

Of course, judging from the results of the 2008 presidential election, most people of other races as well saw that there was no there there when it came to Palin, and she has done nothing to change that perception in the 2+ years she has been on the national scene.

I knew it was only a matter of time before her asinine antics and her excessive exposure would begin to wear thin with even Republicans, especially women. But her delusional narcissism will not permit her to see this reality, especially when her enablers encourage her by telling her what she wants to hear.

With all this overexposure, all that is unappealing about Palin is constantly on display. Her ignorance, divisiveness, lack of class, racism, and religious bigotry--along with crass materialism--are too glaringly obvious to overlook.

As an American, I am totally embarrassed that there are fellow Americans so stupid that they are willing to deny or discount her conspicuous shortcomings and be willing to vote her for president.
Palin is already a huge laughingstock around the world, and just for her to run would elicit well-deserved ridicule.

She is also a major embarrassment to women, because she embodies everything we have collectively fought to overcome in order to be taken seriously for our merits.
There's nothing cute, funny, or appealing in a woman who uses "sex appeal" (ugh!) to compensate for the lack of mental intelligence and moral integrity. But it looks even worse on a woman approaching 50, because it is so plainly age-inappropriate. It's even worse in a middle-aged woman aspiring to the most powerful office in this country.

I have a feeling that any run for the presidency Palin makes will be divisive, especially for the Republican Party. But that's the price they pay for stroking that already grossly inflated ego that blinds her to the fact that she is in way over her head.
