Click here for Part Two. And here is Part Three
Wow! Did you ever think you would see Jon Stewart interview Donald Rumsfeld?
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
That was great.
ReplyDeleteAm just listening to Chris Matthews (don't ask), but it was worth it to hear him introduce the topic by saying "Jon Stewart interviewing Donald Rumsfeld. I don' think that is fair" or words to that effect meaning Jon trumped Donald insofar as IQ and insight goes. At least that' how I took it. Thanks for posting the extended interview. I am going to share it with my husband after supper.
Malia's been on a roll lately. Her latest:
ReplyDelete"OOPS! The Anchorage Police Department Forgot One"
"The Anchorage Police Department is so committed to full, unbiased, disclosure that they provide a list of Press Releases on their web site for the general public to review..... They forgot to list the press release they issued to the National Enquirer!"
Why was that?
can't bring myself to watch that condescending lyin' sack-o-shit, he oughta be in a federal pen somewhere...If anyone needs to see a bit more of him, checkout the just released Story of Pat Tilman on DVD
ReplyDeleteEver since Jon Stewart equated Keith Obermann and Rachel Maddow with Glenn Beck and Bill O'Lielly, I've been totally over him.
ReplyDeleteI think it's despicable that Stewart gave Rumsfeld airtime to promote his lying book.
"Union Leader editorial page editor Andrew Cline reacts to the announcement Palin's attending the summit: "I find it hard to believe that, presumably less than a year from the primary, someone who makes a trip to India a higher priority than a trip to New Hampshire is a serious presidential candidate. Chalk this up as one more bit of evidence that she's probably not running."
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, although she's not going to say she isn't running because there really is no reason for her to (and lots of good reasons to keep pretending she might). But anything she is doing right now is just a job, nothing more. She's going to India for the pay check (and to get out of the house, again).
Rumsfeld is more guilty than nearly anyone else in the Bush administration for pushing for the Iraq war even before 9/11.
ReplyDeleteHe's also an admitted torturer by condoning waterboarding, along with Bush Jr and Darth Cheney.
It's understandable that Obama wouldn't want to spend months trying to drag them into court, but SOMEONE ought to be holding these criminals responsible for the deaths of 1000's of US soldiers and 30,000 wounded, plus 100,000 or more Iraqi's.
Dead children rotting in the streets so you can advance "Nation building" in the Mideast and take revenge on Saddam for personal grudges?
And by the way, how is nation building a conservative doctrine anyway?
They are all despicable and guilty of highest treason, and all deserve life jail sentences in a super max prison.
rums just trying to sell his diatribe... just like the shrub.

No, it is NOT understandable!!!
These bastards have all admitted to War Crimes. There is no Statute of Limitations on War Crimes.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc., would not only be found guilty (thus assuring everyone that this is a nation founded upon the Rule of Law, not whim), but their testimony would lead to the clearing out of an entire host of undead worms still inside the Administration.
like a cancer, this must be cut out and cauterized!
Obama is a Constitutional lawyer. He swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. He is in violation of that oath.
Maybe Rummy's book is not selling well, and he is desperate for the publcity?
ReplyDeleteI saw this post earlier and there were no comments, then later and no comments, and now only 6 comments, well plus mine .... gee, I wonder why? Because we don't consider Rumsfeld worth our time unless it is to hear he is behind bars, or strung up somewhere!
ReplyDeleteAgree with anonymous that Jon's "both sides" meme is getting quite tiresome. Oh and it looks as if he's trying to have all the repugs on to show just how fair and balanced he is. Yuk, gag me with a spoon.
ReplyDeleteI won't watch the clip for that reason, but this quote from Louis CK
"So how many guys do you think you've met that have died by hanging?"
to Rumsfield on
today's Opie & Anthony Show
is great comedy. Oh and asking him if he's a lizard person, even better.
LMAO
The links to Rand Paul and townhall.com on YOUR website are disgusting. To think that money is going from these RWNJs to you (with Google as a pass through) is totally upsetting to me. I can't support this site any more and will no longer visit here. Sorry, there's a thing called integrity. You've demonstrated that money is more important to you than that.
ReplyDeleteDid I miss something somewhere? There are several posts criticizing Jon for having controversial people on his show, for "cashing in".
ReplyDeleteHis show is not network news. It is a comedy show. You should be thanking him for keeping these people in the spotlight and discussion focused on their actions. It is a sad reflection of our society that a comedy show is more committed to thought provoking content that certain alleged news programs.
To Anon 7:36 PM: What on earth are you talking about??? I reviewed Gryph's opening page, and there is NO SIGN of a link to Rand Paul or Townhall.com. Did you stumble upon this site after drinking too much kool-aid? Go take a nap, walk your dog, and then continue to review your favourite websites!
ReplyDeleteGeesh, I thought it was fabulous and no - I never thought I would see him on Jon Stewart. Please - I want to see Glen Beck on the show!
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with people who still don't get that you have no control over the ads?

ReplyDeleteOf course they've turned on Jon. IMO, people only want to watch shows that let them stroke their self-righteous gland, which is why Beck/O'Reilly/Olbermann/Maddow have such a following. People feel GOOD watching them. They are vindicated in their righteous beliefs.
Jon, to his credit, knows the world is not so easily painted in black and white, he's curious and kind. However, that occasionally entails treating people like, well, PEOPLE with all the messiness and contradictions that go with that.
And once again Stewart gave him the old soft shoe. Stewart also came out very weak on the Wisconsin labor fiasco. Stewart has entered the city of the damned as far as I'm concerned - only cares about broadening his viewing demo. Screw him.
ReplyDeletePeople, if Jon Stewart was the screaming bully Bill O'Reilly was, do you think he could persuade these criminals to sit down and talk with him before an audience?
ReplyDeleteJon goes out of his way to be non-threatening and respectful, even to people who have no shame in lying to his face.
Good for him for getting Rumsfield on his show. Of course ol' Rummy was trying to promote his book, but how refreshing to hear Jon call him on his war crimes bullshit.
They always underestimate how much research Jon and his team do on them before they come on.
I will never watch The Daily Show again.
ReplyDeleteYes, I could see this coming. Plain and simple. Donald Rumsfeld is a psychopath; not a violent one, but a "snake in a suit" type. He simply believes that he can lie to and manipulate people with a simple smile just to promote his owned self-serving agenda. He is egocentric and thinks he is omnipotent, the attention he got on "The Daily Show," positive or negative, probably further increased his dopamine levels and made him crave more. He is glib, and shows little affect.
