Sarah Palin and her Teabagger friend's heads are about to explode in 3..2..1

Here is an early example of how the Right Wing is losing their shit over this cover and the article contained inside:

TIME Magazine’s new February 2011 issue has a cover that features Ronald Reagan with his arm around a jovial Barack Obama. You can see the image below. This is propaganda. Plain and simple.

Anyone who knows anything about Ronald Reagan knows that he would not only disapprove of everything Obama stands for, he would be the first one to call out Obama as the leftist, liberal, big government Democrat he is.

Ronald Reagan warned America about ObamaCare 50 years ago. Do you think he would want to be photoshopped onto a magazine cover yukking it up with his political nemesis?

Oh yeah, TIME Magazine is DEFINITELY going to get some letters for this!  Letters written in all caps, filled with misspelled words, and with envelopes moistened by hate filled venom.

I suggest the folks at Time equip the people working in their mail room with eye protectors and bio-hazard suits. And they might want to beef up their anti-virus software on their computers as well. Because things are definitely going to get ugly.

This is the republican parties problem...they can't move forward, always gotta drag out Ronnie. Look to the past, not the future.

And that is why Obama will have a second term(YEA!)

There is a whole generation of voters who weren't born during St Ronnies reign, or were to young to remember or care. To quote Janet Jackson " What have you done for me lately?"

It's Obama's head that should be exploding. Being photoshopped into a photo with the biggest over inflated predident of all time. Reagan was and is simply a product of the superhype and good PR.

  3. I think the cover concept is quite appropriate, Gryphen. I compared Reagan to Obama several times in my book The Palin Matrix and I stand behind those comparisons. Some of their policies may be at odds with each other, but as far as the two men being Presidential, professional, likable, educated, and respectful toward the press and their opponents, they have much in common. This is precisely how SP is so NOT Reagan!

Ronnie and Barack look like they're sharing a good laugh about Sarah....

Sarah, Todd, and RAM walked into a bar. You'd have thought the third one would have ducked.

Gryphen- This is off-topic, but I don't know how else to get a hold of you and I wanted to give you a "head's up" on an article over at Huffington Post.

It is written by the former editor-in-chief of the Enquirer about how they finally cracked John Edwards and his story wide open.

It is fascinating and has huge application to the Palin scandals that never seem to get off the ground. Please read it if you haven't already.

I still feel that the most important issue to resolve is the one about Trig's birth, as it would shatter her credibility and reveal what kind of human being she really is.This seems to have taken a back seat and no more progress has been made.

In the HP article, one could almost switch out Edwards' name with Palin's and it would be as pertinent.

If you read it, please do an analysis of it coupled with your insider info and viewpoint. It would be fascinating and might even propel us all further down the road towards answers about Trig.

Just to add .. look at the indecision amongst the frontrunners .. Romney is not sure if he's going to run, there was another 'strong' candidate who decided to not run.

I have a feeling that these guys aren't willing to spend $100 million (apiece) in a losing effort, only to have to turn around in 4 years to do it again.

Well, as an extremely liberal/progressive Democrat, I'm just as repelled and disgusted by Obama's inexplicable fondness for that foul Republican POS Reagan.

On second thought, it's not inexplicable. As a privileged hob-nobber with and panderer to the elite and entitled, always ready to trash the libs and progressives who worked so hard and gave so much get him elected to his current office, while sucking up to Repugs, that ungrateful fucker Obama may as well have an R after his name too.

Ha! Great pic of those two Prez's.
Couldn't stand the policies of the old guy, yet thought he was probably a nice man one on one (albeit a little Alzheimer-y in office).

I also like that Obama is taller than Reagan in that pic. That'll make 'em mad too.

Gryph, just a typo -- the word would be friends'.

To make a word plural and possessive, first make it plural "friends." Then make it possessive. To do that, you usually add apostrophe and then s. But, when the word already ends in an s, you just add the apostrophe.

I try to imagine what a head of a bot must look like, as it is always on the verge of exploding. Every other day something happens to make his or her head explode. I find myself imagining a scene from WILLY WONKA (with Gene Wilder, the classic version), when Violet turns into a giant blueberry and nearly bursts .

"Apparently, in America," writes Le Monde, "rude, crude, & sexy is the order of the day. These women seem to attract the most un-educated of America and those that some would call, Nativists. It is not a pretty picture these days in the USA! Thank God, we are not all Americans today!"

The three women had readily agreed to the interviews and were shocked by the article.

Bachmann said: "This is the most un-American thing I have ever seen. We should investigate them for their anti-American views."

    O'Donnell stated, "Nuke em!"

Sarah Palin looked petulant and snapped, "I wouldn't lower myself to these sexist bastards. Excuse me now, I'm on my way to I-Hops for some Freedom Toast!"

I came of age in the 80s when Ronnie was King and we were surrounded by a bunch of Alex P. Keaton wannabe's.

Now those floppy-haired jackasses are in their 40s. And the most Keatonish, floppy-haired guy I ever knew is head over heels for Romney.

Compared with the Right-wing wackos we have today, St. Ronnie was a downright centrist. Ronald Reagan was much more Bill Clinton than Sarah Palin.

In fact, Ronnie would have been more likely to (figuratively, of course) squeeze a grapefruit half into Sarah's face than endorse her for anything.

  23. Oh, but I forgot to mention, there's a huge difference between Reagan and Obama. Reagan was a great actor and portrayed a wonderful president. Obama is the real thing.

The American Glob (a perfect descriptor in my opinion) response to the Time cover and article is priceless:

"This is propaganda. Plain and simple."

Propaganda? From whom? Do these asshats mean to say that LIBERALS are trotting out the comparison between Reagan and Obama? Right. Next we'll have the Media Matters paean to Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly.

"Anyone who knows anything about Ronald Reagan knows that he would not only disapprove of everything Obama stands for, he would be the first one to call out Obama as the leftist, liberal, big government Democrat he is."

These moron globs also hadn't gotten the word that far from shrinking government and exercising fiscal conservatism, Reagan spent like a drunken sailor and left us with a giant big-ass load of debt. But, they'll not let the facts deter them from their thinly veiled racist rant about our suntanned president.

THAT'S what pisses them off: the image of pasty ol' Reagan embracing our black, er, Kenyan president. Maybe we could photoshop a pic of Obama kissing Margaret Thatcher right on the lips. Those sounds you would next hear would be racist teabagger heads popping all around the country.

Gryphen, tell us it isn't so. There is an article on HuffPo from rumorfix that says Mercede is going to pose completely nude for Playboy.

She will destroy her credibility. Critics will say she is using her public profile to cash in - just like Levi and the Palins.

    http://tinyurl.com/47jtgn6

I hope it isn't true. It is her life and her decision, but honestly, it will undermine everything she's said. Maybe she's doing it to get money to help her mother, but that only helps her rep a bit.

If it is not true, I hope she sues whoever started the rumor.

Interesting reaction quote about Reagan's early opposition to Medicare, which also shows the writer's ignorance of history. Reagan did initially rail against Medicare as socialized medicine. However, in his second term, he completely reversed and wound up passing the largest expansion of Medicare in forty years.

Reminder about what happens when someone gets sucked into the Repub mud.

Reagan was a democrat before he was a right winger. He was very anti- racist in his younger years, incensed at discrimination, very anti-communist, turning in actors/actresses he thought were sympathetic to the communists, served as president of the Screen Actors Guild, married a pregnant Nancy.

Then when GE dropped him (I had lunch with him once when we were both GE employees) he became a Rethug.

As California governor raised taxes, cut welfare, signed a bill for abortions which he later said he would never have done in retrospect.
As president (his last years at it left us with the images of Nancy whispering in his ear all the time to convey the content of sentences coming at him, probably, and maybe giving him answers) busted the air controllers union, invaded Grenada, had an administration that reduced the Social Security for children to age 18, thus removing any funding for college, as it had been provided to age
21, (had to make effort to help cover the 40% increase in defense spending) left the US with the largest deficit (up to that point) ever and cost GWH Bush a second term because GWH had to raise taxes to cover Reagan's huge debt burdens.

I will alwasys remember that fateful day in October 1987 when the market tanked and I lost a huge percentage of my retirement funds. Reagan raised taxes of some kind every year until that crash, and increased the lower tax bracket from 11% to 15% which remains.

These are just some of the incidents I remember from the "Reagan" years and I checked some of them against info on Wikipedia to make sure I had dates correctly as I recalled them from memory.

I pulled this up for those who may decide to visit this blog and shout that Obama isn't suited to shine Reagan's shoes.

George W. Bush was no FDR, but Barack Obama could be.

That's the verdict of 238 of the nation's leading presidential scholars, who - for a fifth time - rated Franklin Delano Roosevelt the best president ever in the latest Siena College Research Institute poll.

In office for barely two years, Obama entered the survey in the 15th position - two spots behind Bill Clinton and three spots ahead of Ronald Reagan.

Obama got high marks for intelligence, ability to communicate and imagination, but his score was dragged down by his relative lack of experience and family background.

"Most of the presidents came from elite backgrounds, and he certainly did not," said professor Douglas Lonnstrom, who crunched the numbers. "He grew up without a father."
