Wonderful interview with Geoffrey Dunn concerning his book "The Lies of Sarah Palin: The Untold Story Behind Her Relentless Quest for Power."

The interview is filled with titillating information about Palin's lies and potential criminal activities, however I believe THIS paragraph sums up the Sarah Palin I know to a T:

Let me note that Palin HAD a decent shot of winning the GOP nomination, but she blew it. She was gifted with the instant celebrity that went with her selection by McCain--and celebrity now plays a role in the election of a president--and she had a solid brand that stood squarely in opposition to Obama. She is the anti-Obama, if you will. But she has blown it both tactically and strategically over the past two years. She can't put an organization together. She is absolutely dysfunctional. And she is a pathological liar, so she can't keep her story straight. Palin had it all handed to her--and her various pathologies have brought her down. It would be a Greek tragedy if she weren't such a farce and a lightweight. Her fall is a Shakespearean comedy. And she has fallen.

You know I have already ordered my copy, and been assured that I have a free one on the way as well, but after reading this I am tempted to order yet a THIRD copy, just because anybody who gets this kind of information out about Klondike Kardashian deserves to be supported wholeheartedly by those of us who have waited breathlessly for these details to emerge. (If you have not yet ordered YOUR copy you can do so right now by clicking here.)

You can read more of this terrific interview, and believe me it is well worth your time to do so, over at SFGate.

Just read the Dunn interview and it is very good. I ordered my copy months ago and can't wait for May to come to read.
There are republicans who spoke on the record. People from her inner circle and from her childhood. Particular interest is what happened to her in the Heath household that would account for her mental problems.
You are so right on point as always Gryphen.

Good idea! I ordered Dunn's book a year ago. It behooves me to order two (get free shipping that way), so I can give one away.

  3. Thank you for the reminder about ordering, Gryphen. I clicked and pre-ordered. Geoffrey Dunn deserves our support. And we deserve to read the truth about Sarah Palin's lies.

Bravo, Geoffrey Dunn! His writing is clear and to the point. He perfectly sums up her rise and fall, and the reasons why - in that one paragraph.

I bet everyone in Washington will have two or three copies of his book. One to keep, and one or two to loan out.

P.S. As to his comments regarding sexuality in the article; I bet he is right on the money. It would go a long way to explaining how Mr. and Mrs. Toad relate to one another.

Mrs. Palin better call up the Dutch and order some of those dikes she talked about during the Gulf oil spill. The floodgates are about to open and she is going under. Can't wait to see how she and the bots and the lawyers spin this s**t storm.

Did the grifter's relentless quest for power fizzle out after the presidential elections?

Has she "blown it both tactically and strategically over the past two years", or did she simply quit politics to embark on a relentless quest for fame and fortune?

She was incompetent from the start and hasn't been able to "wing it" sucessfully like she did before 9/08. She is blind to this and cluelessly ambles along doing things her way. So she won't be able to pull a GW on us, than goodness.

Anyone know how Dunn's book and McGinness' book differ? I guess I'm nervous they will be repeat and I want both to get credit, and rewarded, for their hard work. Of course, both are accomplished writers with strong publishing houses behind them so I imagine my concerns are silly. Maybe it's like having two lawyers in town - business goes up for both when the second one puts up a shingle. I jsut worry over something that is none of my business and about people who are far wiser and more sophisticated than me.

This is what rings so true to me - the "text" of some of her more infamous verbal moments:

The Katie Couric interviews (any of em, all of em)

Believing that the Canadian radio comedian was actually French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

It was funny when it happened, but if you go back and read the text of that interview, follow it closely as it were, YOU SEE WHAT AN ABSOLUTE IMBECILE SHE IS, how ridiculous and fatuous she is to the point of being moronic. Ditto for her Katie Couric interviews. Ditto for her first Farewell Address when she resigned as governor.

She is an embarrassment to the grand traditions of American democracy.

I hate how you profess to know her. You've met her twice in person? Once at a bball game when she graciously gave you an interview (you also lied) and the last at a book signing after you spread lies about her daughter.

No mother is going to react kindly to a person who behaves like that

    LOVED the interview, especially:

"The vast majority of my sources--almost all of whom had the courage to go on the record--are Republicans. The same with the McCain campaign. So my book is not a left wing rant against Palin by any means. It is a balanced, in-depth portrait of a modern American demagogue. People from across the political spectrum are saying: she has no clothes; she's a fraud."

Can't wait for the book and for Sarah to take to Twitter and FB to refudiate, bwahahaha!

  21. Anonymous8:49 AM

Sarah will tell herself that her 2.8 million admirers are enough to keep her grifting boat afloat, that she get's to live in her ivory tower and echo-chamber for the rest of her life - but every few minutes of the precious four hours she may actually rest at night, you know she wonders why she isn't beloved by EVERYONE. She and her mom will always be puzzled by HOW unpopular and disliked she really is.

To have completely squandered an unprecedented and undeserved political capital like this in a matter of a few short months and then in two years, is a fascinating case study. Which can simply become an interesting little footnote in the annals of the history of this great country. . .ugh, I can't even write that with a straight face, the conservatives ruin any emoting of patriotism for me.

I ordered McGinnis' book too. His book will validate Dunn's research, plus, I bet he delved more into the personality of SP, and her "beginnings" and the psycho-ness of what is SP. I don't know this for a fact, but it's what I conjecture.

All I want is for the truth to be revealed, and with GD's book, am hoping upon all hope that it will get all past the era of Palin, or the "Palin-ass-ic Period".

However, I'm a little worried that even his, and McGinniss' books might only get a few nods of approval, and the media NOT pick up on the revelations, and it'll be just another great effort passed by. Sarah's guard-bots will never succumb to negative books about her, they'll just dig their heels in more and call it lies. It's going to be up to individuals who read to make their own minds up. Am hoping Dunn's sources will agree to do interviews to keep the books' contents in the light up until election time.

This is an excellent interview with Dunn. I read it at the link. I can't wait to get this book.

Dunn has apparently interviewed many with inside knowledge of the life and times of Sarah Palin. I think the Dunn book will be different from the Bailey book because of different information collected by interviewing different people. I hope the Bailey book has interviews like the Dunn book apparently does.

One of these books is more likely to be delayed by legal concerns. The emails used to source the Bailey book may allow important people with money to possibly delay the book by legal means. Will anyone feel threatened by what the emails might reveal about the dealings of a Palin-Parnell administration? The Captain Zero legal team may already be interested in the emails Bailey has.

I want BOTH these books and I want them now!

Oh I wouldn't worry about the overlap between Dunn and McGinniss's books, Anon8:24am.

I look at Dunn's book as the main course, and McGinniss's book as the sweet, tasty desert.

The first book will whet the public's taste for the second one.

Dunn has labored long and carefully; I expect his book to be a textbook cataloging each of her executive and personal blunders in a measured, reasonable tone.

McGinniss has done his homework as well; however I am sure the 5,000 nasty emails he received after Mrs. Todd Palin hinted that he was a pedophile will add some emotional color to his manuscript.

The best thing about not one, but TWO books by respected authors is that each will fully support and verify each other.

That passage in the post does sum it up, and quite generously I might add. He doesn't ascribe evil to her, just weakness. I am not sure I could be that kind.

She has most definitely squandered the gold-plated opportunity that she was lucky enough to receive when Bill Kristol and his cohorts decided to present her at the national level.

This was her destiny, however - just celebrity.

Thank you for referring readers to the Dunn interview. I have been wondering when Dunn's book would come out about her--I first read about it on Huff Po. I am elated that it is finally going to be available.

The SF interview was outstanding. The following points that spoke to me the loudest were:

*SP was not vetted properly by McCain (When I saw this woman and heard her open her mouth for the very first time I thought--oh my God--then realized she was picked for the xtian "God crowds")

*SP is a liar, fraud and farce
*SP is NOT FIT to be president
    *SP is "an embarrassment to
the grand traditions of American democracy".
The above 3 are particularly accurate since SP herself has proven them over and over again by her own actions that demonstrate vile, ignorant, contemptuous behaviors.

Hats off to Mr. Dunn for exposing this anathamatic female! Also, a salute to this blog site.

Why were so many power brokers and king makers enamored of a liar and an imbecile? It doesn't reflect well on McCain, nor all the other politicos who have been drinking her Kool-Aid for so long. The Anti-Obama? What the heck is that? The evidence is in that our country has slid down the precipice of stupidity; we've arrived at a place where someone of Palin's ilk can be taken seriously year after year after year. Sad.

My friend's take on her was that she was always the dumbest person in the room, BY FAR, and also the one who wanted the most attention. My friend thought of her as Barbie long before Sarah earned the name on a national level. I, too, can't wait to find out about the early days to help explain the insanity of this woman. Did anyone catch the MSN Happy Birthday slide show they did of her on her birthday a couple months back? It did not stay up for very long, but I was astonished at the number of pics with her and dead animals. One has to wonder what the constant killing of innocent life does to the developing mind of a child??? Creepy Chuck had those kids out killing all kinds of things over many years and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. I also noticed how disarmingly beautiful she was as a child in contrast to her more homely sister. Wonder what kind of attention she got and what kind of power that gave her at a very young age. I am not sure if you can still find the pics but they are worth a look and hope that Dunn's book includes some of them.

Speaking of books, we went to our local Borders this week-end. It is (sadly), going out of business and everything is reduced drastically. Normally, my granddaughter and I make sure all of the SP items are turned around on the shelves facing backwards. This time there was obviously no need to do that. There were bookshelf and bookshelf of America by Heart books sitting there that no one was touching! We are talking cases of books. All of the political books were 60% off and people were buying. Just not poor SP's stuff. I live in an extremely red county so it was a great sight to see those books being ignored.

She was still the Gov. and she went to a speech Sarah gave at the Native Center, she told us she never heard someone so stupid making a speech, she sounded like an idiot and couldn't believe what she was hearing and that someone like that was the Gov. We really don't need to KNOW her to know she's in over her head, just listen to her.

All that glitters is not gold. In this case, Sarah was fools' gold. Her only real chance was in '08 when McCain tried to pawn her off as the real deal without a chance to inspect and authenticate her. She has hit her ceiling. She doesn't have it in her to advance. Up 'til then she was a big fish in a little pond. Since then, she's floundered politically. She just doesn't have what it takes to move on and she can't fake it and pretend she knows what she's talking about anymore.

To 8:45: I WISH we didn't know Sarah Palin. Didn't she make it a point to get the real Sarah out there? There are A LOT of us out here, besides G though, that haven't bought her BS. What ARE the lies that have been told about her EXACTLY, anyway?

From a personal incident, I know Irl to be a corrupt officer of the law when he was chief. I was happy to see him fired, but I gave SP too much credit for firing him. I assumed she did it for legitimate altruistic reasons when I know now she did it for egotistical reasons.

Thank you for your post and the link to Gloria Nieto's interview with Dunn in the SF Gate.

Together the post and the interview simply made my day. I was feeling pretty good anyway, but now I feel so relieved, it's like I'm soaring.

I, like most of us, have felt worn out and slightly depressed with the way Sarah has always slipped through allegations of wrongdoing even when the evidence has indicated guilt.

Finally I am beginning to feel as if justice is going to be served. That this madness may develop cracks in it and start retreating into the darkness. Gosh, it's been a very, very long two-plus years.

May this bring the light and warmth of truth into our national discussion.

If this kind of reporting can be done on Sarah Palin, maybe it will send a message to the other Rethuglicans and insane Libertarians (read Ron & Rand Paul). They might begin to shake in their own boots that their lies will come tumbling down around their ankles and their bare asses will finally get smacked with truth.

    Gosh, thanks so much.

If Dunn's prose is as powerful as his answers in this interview - wow, it won't be, can't be ignored.

You could almost feel the righteous outrage in his voice, the disgust that such the Sarah fraud has been perpetrated upon our country for so long.

He put voice to how I've felt about her since I first started learning about her in 2008. My first blog information came from themudflats.net and the second from the immoralminority, and then the others followed. It has been fascinating and frustrating to learn about her and wonder how so many people have been suckered in for so long. Her sell-by date expired a while ago. Time to put her in the can and disinfect the shelf so we can move on.

Here's hoping the information that will come out in these books will lead to investigations that in turn lead to criminal proceedings for her, Todd and all the rest in her network - including the GOP itself.

Time for America to tidy-up this miserable mess and grow up. We have such a wonderful President. We need Governors and state legislators of his caliber if we are to leave this tawdry time behind us and prosper with dignity and grace.

  61. Anonymous12:44 PM

This is going to make John McCain look even more like an idiot for having selected her as his running mate w/o vetting her. We all knew, in Alaska, that they couldn't have checked into her background sufficiently, but it didn't get the coverage/trackage it should have back then.

I'd love being a bug on the wall hearing all the commentary that will be made by Congress men and women after they have read this book or read the reviews about it.

We are delighted in Alaska she is going down, down, down! Watch out residents of AZ should the rumors be correct that she is moving down there. She is no longer comfortable being a resident of Alaska, I'm sure.

Alaskans need to mail this book to friends they have in AZ - so that they can be ahead of the game in learning the lies and unethical behaviors of Sarah and Todd Palin.

They need to be ready to object to any appointment the AZ governor might direct Palin toward.

  67. I really do want this to be the end of that woman. Then I can go back to creating fun Barbie scenes in my back yard and on my travels, like I used to. Now I spend all of my time coming up with timely Palin crap that plays well at the doll level. A bunch of damn work instead of a silly hobby. Sarah, GO AWAY!

  69. I have pre-ordered my copy too. Dunn is right. Palin had tons of political capital and she squandered it, threw it away with both hands, sacrificed it on the altar of her own ignorant hubris. She thought she could do everything her way, and she probably still thinks that, because she never learns. She never, ever learns from her mistakes.

Will there be any information in the book about the appearance of the child Tri-G? Does Mr. Dunn have anything to say about that "controversy"? Hopefully he will, and hopefully what he writes will confirm what most people who check into the facts already know: Mrs. Palin did not give birth to this special needs child.

    Good point!

Wailin' Palin on Greta's show tonight along with her male counterpart, the Donald. There ought to be all kinds of pearls of wisdom strung out between the 2 of them.

"She never, ever learns from her mistakes."

She makes them?? I've never actually heard her say publicly what any of the mistakes are that she's made. It's not in her make up. Just one of her many flaws.

Many thanks, Gryphen, for the order reminder and SFGate's great article with J. Dunn. Preordered for my new Kindle. Very, very excited... feels like Christmas.

Is Tawd building the rest of the 14 foot ugly fence to enclose the compound yet? My bet it goes up before May 10th.

Apart from the FACT of the hoax (which most normal people find hard to believe when first coming upon it, because it is so very bizarre) there is the MOTIVE for the hoax (which was to use a disabled child for political gain -- even more bizarre and degenerate).

As a parent of a special-needs child, Dunn would be really remiss if he didn't discuss this fake pregnancy, this huge travesty and mega hoax upon the electorate.

Give Parnell full credit for what he's doing. This Haase is appointed to the panel that nominates judges for the state. He can serve with Joe Miller's wife!

From the Alaska judicial Council website
    http://www.ajc.state.ak.us/about/about.html

    About the Council

The Alaska Judicial Council is an independent citizens' commission created by the Alaska Constitution. The Council screens applicants for judicial vacancies and nominates the most qualified applicants for appointment by the governor, evaluates the performance of judges and recommends whether voters should retain judges for another term, and conducts research to improve the administration of justice in Alaska.

Alaska Constitution Article IV, Section 8 provides that the Judicial Council has seven members. Three must be attorneys appointed by the Alaska Bar Association. Three cannot be attorneys and are appointed by the governor subject to confirmation by the legislature. These appointments are for staggered six year terms, must be spread over different areas of the state, and must be made without regard to political affiliation. The chief justice of the supreme court is the Council's seventh member and chairperson.

More information in this ADN article.
    http://www.adn.com/2011/03/23/v-printer/1772266/senate-panel-questions-judicial.html

The council is a unique feature in Alaska's constitution, designed by the state's founders to avoid the kind of politics that affect judiciaries in states where judges run for office or are picked by governors....

The council vets applicants for district, superior and appellate courts, including the Alaska Supreme Court, and submits at least two names for each vacancy to the governor. When judges go before the voters in nonpartisan retention elections, the council submits its recommendations in the state election pamphlet.

How was it that Joe Miller's wife ended up helping pick judges?
    The same ADN article says:

Some governors have complained that the council ties their hands and prevents them from picking judges of their choice. Former Gov. Sarah Palin said she didn't like the weight given by the council to attorney reviews of candidates. Several conservatives sued in federal court to have the council declared unconstitutional but their case was thrown out in 2009.

  87. FloridaDem4:51 PM

I don't know if I agree with his assumption "That's why she quit her governorship; she hated being governor and wanted to be president...."

I think the day she quit the governorship was the day she realized she WASN'T going to be president. She may have still held onto the pipe dream, but she already moved on to other pastures. She rebranded herself, in a sense. From Hockey Mom to Tea Bag Lady. The dollars are the same color, still green, and the microphone is still in front of her, all the same. So does it matter to her, really?

And until recently, I would have sworn she would never run. For 2 years I've been saying she's not running. What is making me uncertain now, is her overseas trips, and hearing her speak about 2012. The practical, rational side of her is leaving, and the pipedream is returning. So I see her wanting to interfere in 2012. Although, wanting and doing are two entirely different things. It remains to be seen whether the GOP will permit her to meddle and if her handlers can reason with her or not. She's getting a little bit like Hitler in the bunker. She has tunnel vision and she's starting to believe her own press.

Maybe The Donald will ask her to be on Celebrity Apprentice. Then she can show off all her executive experience. I hope he doesn't mind if she brings the whole family.

    Tawd for security/ intimidatin
Bristol for Googlin and Shoe Pickin
Ram for writin, droolin & boot-lickin
    Track for sabotaging opponents
    Willow for insulting opponents
Piper for being a human shield and for picking out pre-teen jewelry for Mom
    Trigg for photo ops
Chuck for being creepy and reminding Granny P that she's hot even though he wished she was a boy

    or

Maybe he could pit them all against each other since according to SP's Alaska they just love competition.

I'd also love to see an all Palin Survivor. She's already got an in with Mark Burnett. I can guarantee Granny P would be the first one they voted off.

I've been in a jubilant mood all day after reading this interview, and laughing aloud at reading some of the comments.

With respect to lisab2595 over at P-gates "I can't wait for Dunn's book. To be honest, I thought he should have turned it into a periodical - "Lies of Palin Quarterly".

I personally think Dunn should have "Volume One" stamped on the spine of his book.

Just got a chance to catch up this morning. Thanks for the link to the celebratory Sarah Palin Birthday Slide Show! Ugh and double ugh. The very disturbing thing to me is the fact that, even as a young child, there's absolutely NO life in her eyes at all. Look closely. She has a deep, dead, programmed stare, even when she's smiling. Creepy.

Can't wait for the Dunn book!!

Of course I am loving the fact that more and more of the Palin lies and hypocrisy are exposed daily.

Prostitution, drug abuse, faking childbirth, vandalism, arrogant lies, egregious incompetence, greed, insanely spiteful behavior and retaliation, child neglect, abuse of power...the list just goes on...

Unfortunately, the sad truth of the matter is that no matter how much of the ugly truth comes to light, even babygate, Sarah Palin and family walk / slither away as multi-millionaires.

I doubt she'll run in 2012. She is milking every last dime and getting even richer. And she's doing it right down to the wire because she knows the jig is up.

After all, SHE KNOWS what's in the emails that Bailey has...

She can see the tide turning against her as more and more truth about her is revealed, so she will swindle dollars from her blindly adoring fans until even the most cement headed follower has finally seen the light.

Don't fret about the millions Granny P and her offspring have grifted, Anon5:35am. As a previous poster stated, Granny chased after fast, easy money.. and she will need every penny to pay lawyers to keep her skinny, wrinkled ass out of jail.

I have a feeling that money goes out just about as fast as it comes in.

I would not be surprised if in 2013 Granny is banging her tin begging cup, saying that she is broke.. needs help, has five children she is providing for.
