Sarah Palin faking her fifth child's birth "is NOT a conspiracy."

Intrigued? Then read what Andrew Sullivan posted yesterday from reader, and friend of this blog, "Rationalist."

Your reader makes as compelling a case as I've seen for Palin actually having been pregnant, and barring other evidence I'd be inclined to think s/he is right. The kicker seems to be the conspiracy element. As with any conspiracy, one must ask how could people possibly keep quiet all this time?

Well, because it's not a conspiracy. In my view, it's just a sad, time-tested story of a very dysfunctional family, writ large.

If you really think about it, only three or four people would really have to know. If you'll indulge me a few paragraphs to offer a counter-theory, I'd be grateful.

Sarah Palin’s kids were typical Wasilla teenagers, partying a lot, more unsupervised than most because Palin was so busy and Todd was gone a lot. The Palin household was not close. Frank Bailey reported Palin telling him "Todd and I aren't like other couples. We don't talk." But the kids, like many kids in alcoholic or abusive families, were well trained to make everything look perfect to outsiders. This dynamic was enhanced by the Palin's celebrity and power and the fact that by all accounts Palin is secretive to an extreme, even to her parents. If Bristol is indeed the mother of Trig (which is by no means certain), she got pregnant when she was sixteen, but didn’t tell anyone until it was too late for an abortion, so the plan was to keep the pregnancy secret and adopt the baby out.

Palin’s ob-gyn, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, founded The Children’s Place in Alaska for victims of sexual assault and molestation, and specializes in helping teenagers in trouble. In early 2008, Palin’s name was out as a potential VP nominee, so the national spotlight was already beginning to hit – Vogue magazine did a photo essay about her and Adam Brickley's "Draft Sarah Palin" website was getting thousands of page views. Really bad timing for a pregnant teenage daughter.

Bristol was sent to live with her aunt halfway through her junior year, transferring from Juneau to West High School in Anchorage in the winter of 2007-2008. Then, according to the principal of West High, she left that school after a couple of months, theoretically to be home schooled. I suspect Bristol had Trig in late February, at home or possibly in Anchorage as an anonymous teenager - perhaps under the care of Dr. Baldwin-Johnson. But she was one of the small but real group of teenagers to give birth to a baby with Down Syndrome, which threw a wrench in the adoption plans.

Trig stayed in the hospital in Anchorage and Bristol came home. Palin began to see a political opportunity in having a baby with Down Syndrome. The Palins decided that Sarah and Todd would adopt the baby and raise him as theirs, but they couldn't let the public know Bristol had been pregnant. Maybe Sarah’s doctor did not know about her plans either. Palin began wearing scarves all the time in mid-February. McCain got the nomination on March 5, and the next day Sarah went for it and gave a press conference saying she was seven months pregnant. No one could believe it. Perhaps even, I suspect, Palin's doctor.

She was planning to announce the birth in the middle of April, the earliest she could conceivably have a healthy baby, and the latest Trig would be able to pass as a newborn. But she really wanted to give the high profile speech in Dallas. So she gave flew there and gave it. On April 17th, she called her parents early in the morning and told her dad her water had broken so she was coming back early. If Palin was ever actually at Mat-Su hospital that night, then Cathy Baldwin-Johnson would have arranged for privacy for her high profile patient (a scenario that numerous nurses have reported happens with regularity).

In any event, at noon the next day, Palin's parents were photographed by KTUU in the halls holding a very chubby pink baby ... a baby that, according to Going Rogue, was a month premature with a hole in his heart and jaundice. No one would ever have been the wiser, except that in an interview three days later a reporter asked Palin if her water had broken while she was in Texas. Palin tried to deflect the question, and the reporter (the only reporter, I might add, who has ever asked Palin a pointed question on this) said "Well, your dad said that and I saw him say it so that’s why I asked." And out came the story of the Wild Ride.

After that, the doctor said "It was not unreasonable for her to fly back" with a lawyer present and then has refused all interviews since. And Bristol got knocked up sometime before April 1st with Tripp, which turned out to be very convenient for Palin as "proof" Bristol couldn't be the mother of Trig.

So. As the Internet heats up with arguments and counter arguments, I hope this will reinforce the difference between the Palin story and every other conspiracy I can think of. It's not a conspiracy.

Nicely done.  As most of you know I don't engage in attempts to create plausible scenarios for why Palin faked her pregnancy, or whether or not Bristol was pregnant and gave birth before Tripp's delivery, or what might have happened to the baby that was Trig before the toddler we now know to be Trig was Trig.

It is not because I DON'T wonder about those things, because I do.  It is because if I write one of them out, people might start to believe it is factual and I don't want to steer anybody in the wrong direction.

Having said that I think Rationalist's scenario is pretty believable.  I might have made a few alterations if I had written it, but it is not a bad summation of what we know, and what are possibly the missing pieces of the puzzle.

I do have a couple of oddly shaped pieces of this babygate puzzle that I don't yet know what to do with, that I hope I will be able to fit in at some point in the future, but until then what is written above is as good of an explanation as any other I have seen put forward thus far.

And yes I agree that calling our questions about this pregnancy a "conspiracy theory" is completely ridiculous, and indicates that the person using that term has paid little, or no attention to all of the troubling inconsistencies in this bizarre little saga.

This sounds very reasonable, I would say it probably started this way and then others joined in by being fooled by Sarah as they didn't know how desperate and evil she really was. Sarah told a story and then the bots just fell in line, just like a herd of cattle following the head jackass to go to the creek for water.

Then why have you said multiple times "I don't know who the mother of Trig is because it's not Bristol"

Also, that's not a terribly accurate description of the Palin family at all. The writer paints them as distant and that's not remotely true. He also makes the characterization that they party MORE than the average teen and that's not true. Have you met valley teens? Anchorage teens? Parties happen every single night. When M Scott received 10k from selling palin facebook screenshots, he said his goal was to throw the biggest party imaginable.

Continuing with the meme that this family is distant is ludicrous. Why would they defend each other rabidly against attacks? Why would they even bother visiting and keeping in constant touch?

I'm not looking for a fight here. That's not the image I've come to know from my experiences with them or mutual friends' experiences. It's easy to jump on that bandwagon though when it's the only thing one has to stop a Palin Presidency.

Is it possible that they needed a baby that looked more "new born" for the first public appearances, and then the "real" baby was rolled out later when it was more believable to have a larger (i.e., older) baby? If that were true, can you imagine SP asking, "Can I borrow your Downs Syndrome baby for awhile? Here's some money and I promise to take good care of him."

When I was in high school...in the mid 60's (YES, I am old!) my friend's sister had a baby. She was 18...married right out of high school and got pg immediately. The baby was born with what we now call "Down's Syndrome". The doctors assured them that this was a fluke and would never happen again, and encouraged her to get pg again soon. She did and 10 months later had her second "Down's" child.
So when I hear people say trig can't be Bristol's because only old people have Down's babies, I know that is not true.
I think this person's theory of events is accurate. Does anyone else remember a picture of Bristol getting off a school bus in a hoodie looking very pregnant? Wish I had been smart enough to save it, as I have not found it since the computer thugs cleansed the internet of all incriminating evidence.

  5. I think it's great that this story has legs again, even though The Wild Ride was good enough (bad enough?) for me. With it looking more like Sarah may take the plunge, or at least milk it like she is going to take the plunge, she will not be able to dodge these questions with more rounds of victimhood. Too bad she set herself up by agreeing with the guy with the dead squirrel on his head. Even if this never gets resolved, we have seen plenty of evidence that it REALLY bugs Sarah. She has probably moved a Botox technician into her compound to undo the perpetual scowl on her face.
I'm glad Piper seems to have gone back to private life. That sullen look on her face the last couple of public appearances would have had mom chasing her around the house with the Botox.

" It is because if I write one of them out, people might start to believe it is factual and I don't want to steer anybody in the wrong direction."

This is what your whole blog is. You assert an opinion, people believe it. Without you doctor friend telling you he thinks Bristol was pregnant, your followers would probably not be so adamant in believing that. You are thoughtless and tactless, not to mention irresponsible, when it comes to asserting what could only be OPINION. AND - you still haven't retracted statements that did not have a lick of truth to them. If you really want the blogeshere to eventually be an honest outlet for journalism, then I'd change my tune if I were you and begin reporting objectively.

There are some major things about the democrats you've failed to mention because it would upset you perfect liberal worldview. That's the travesty of journalism. Everyone is biased.

There is a mountain of circumstantial evidence that Sarah faked the birth of Trig...

All that is needed is for the press to ask questions and actually investigate.. until the truth emerges...OR

People want to know the truth about what they are being sold as fact. I read and was impressed with Greg Mortenson's book "3 Cups of Tea". I was wondering how anyone could have ever done all that, but was impressed and held him in high regard, none the less. I do not, however, think that "60 Minutes", or any any others, have a conspiracy to bring him down and I am glad that people question things that don't add up when they are presented to the public as fact. Plenty of people lie to get ahead. It IS OUR BUSINESS to find out what really is going on, including when someone uses lies to present any image of themselves that isn't accurate. This is true for people we respect and people we don't.

In order to qualify as a conspiracy theory, the prenatal specialist, the pediatrician and the team of specialists present at the known high-risk birth of a sitting Governors premature fifth baby would have to be in on it. We haven't heard about any such people being even remotely involved - and the peripheral hospital staff who were on duty the night of the birth haven't come forward either. Jeez.

  12. Anonymous4:49 AM

I agree with Rationalist's ideas except for the following: I believe that Bristol gave birth to a baby with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome in the winter of '07. That baby was "Ruffles". Palin had already become attached, however, to the idea of raising a new baby, and what better way to boost her pro-life bona fides than to "give birth to" a DS baby?

So someone - Palin herself, CBJ, Franklin Graham, whoever - found a DS baby in need of a home and the rest is history.

Bristol, meanwhile, was upset to have lost her baby (to what, whom?), and quickly became pregnant again.

Using the phrase "conspiracy theory" is generally a lazy, belittling substitute for knowing the full dimensions and context of an issue. When I hear it said about the Palin issues, it invariably comes from people who aren't willing to look at the evidence and discuss it methodically.

Why do people keep saying Bristol wasn't seen for 5 months? Or that she was in Anch for 5 months? Bristol moved to Anchorage in Jan 08 and was seen publicly that month attending school events and games. Before Jan, she was seen in mid Oct. with her mother, and may I had that she did not appear pregnant at this time. No one references the June 07 picture of a thick waisted, round faced Bristol. Anyway, that's literally 2.5 months of not public pictures. There's really no concrete evidence of more than one Trig. There's no way she's pregnant and wearing that skirt in the trl video. (that skirt is similar to Sarah's belted skirt in the March photo)

Bristol did call people evil for speculating and rumor spreading. This was in her candid Greta interview. If something were afoot, she would have appeared more awkward. Oh and when she said "my choice" I think she was referencing the people who assumed Bristol would have wanted an abortion due to her age and her mother wouldn't let her. If there's ONE thing Bristol hates, it's when people assume she's not in charge of her life. But that describes pretty much everyone. I think we are trying to insert a square peg in a round hole with the Bristol story. The closest we will ever come to the truth is her book.

  15. It's amazing how few people I talk to have ever heard of the Trig controversy. Whenever I'm able to convince someone to spend 5 minutes researching it, they inevitably come away convinced there is no way Sarah Palin gave birth to that child.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anonymous5:11 AM

That is a very good theory and explains why Bristol did not look pregnant to Mercede in the weeks leading up to "the birth". Also why Trig went home "right after" his high risk birth. It was probably always a question when he would be ready to be released from the hospital, hence the rush back from Texas.

Truly, the conspiracy is with the Media. I don't think that folks want to hear the truth about Mrs. Palin's faux birth. I'm amazed by the anger generated at those of us who suspect her of LIES. Why is it okay to look into everyone else, but not Sarah P? I just don't get it! Keep up the good work, Gryphen.

The problem with this scenario is--again--Palin's version of events. She had tests done. She had ultrasound. She had the baby in the hospital (and, according to this theory, the hospital was the baby's *hotel* for over a month), there's a set of potential adoptive parents who balked at a DS baby and no others could be found (unusual, DS babies are not hard to adopt out), Palin had the baby in a hospital and you don't just walk in and get a delivery room.

There's dozens of people implicated as participating in this charade: doctors, nurses, hospital employees, etc. Somewhere, there's an insurance company *processing claims*.

Look, I'm not saying she did or didn't fake it. I'm just saying the idea this is a tiny, close group of people affected is pretty far-fetched.

This is exactly the scenario I have settled on in my mind, with one exception: I wonder if Palin herself was planning on adopting the baby early on and had to come terms with him having DS after he was born--Her description of her struggle to accept his DS seems like one of the most authentic and believable aspects of her story.
Levi Johnston's claim that Palin was pressuring them to adopt their baby and Bristol's adamance that it was her choice to keep Tripp, have always stuck in my mind and made me wonder if Palin surprised everyone, including CBJ, Bristol, and Levi when she announced her pregnancy. These details left me with the impression that if Bristol gave birth to Trig, it was with regret she allowed Palin to adopt him, making her more determined to raise Tripp, her second child.
Clearly this is speculation, but it is plausible and fits the words and actions of the people involved. If this is close to the truth, I think a small group of players became involved because they wanted to help a vulnerable teenager and shield the Palins from unwanted scrutiny of their private lives. I don't think anyone could have predicted what happened next: Bristol's second pregnancy, Palin's nomination for VP, and ultimately Sarah Palin's use of Trig as a central figure in her self mythology. That is why I think this matters: Palin could have continued to pursue her political ambitions and kept Trig out of the spotlight, but she did the opposite. She put him front and center. If Palin lied about Trig, that means many of the people who supported her, voted for her, sent her money, or paid for her books or speeches were betrayed and defrauded. Palin earned their support and admiration under false pretenses. I want the truth to come out so that the public can see that the example of Sarah Palin shows the need to be wary of public figures who seek power and influence solely through personal charisma and emotional manipulation.

  29. Anonymous5:50 AM

Rationalist articulates a scenario that I feel is very likely and it is very similar to what I posted here in 4 parts a couple of days ago.

In reviewing this scenario and contemplating what we know and what the photos tell us, I am just this morning wondering if Trig is Bristol's child and the infant from the kitchen photos -- the infant with the ear deformity -- was this tiny babe borrowed for a photo shoot weekend?

We assumed it was a Palin baby because of the gentle and loving manner that the baby was held by Levi. Maybe not. Maybe Trig is Bristol's baby, born in December and released from hospital care in April. Maybe the baby with the ear deformity was simply borrowed for the weekend and belongs to someone else close to the family.

Why would they borrow or substitute an infant? Perhaps Trig was too big to pass off as newborn under close scrutiny. Perhaps Trig was irritable, perhaps he had great difficulty feeding, perhaps he had a feeding tube (like the one you can see in the photo released by the hacker). Perhaps at that time Bristol was still opposed to the plan and refused to allow Trig to be used by her mother in photo shoots.

The photo of the adorable little guy with long dark hair, lying on the floor, released yesterday as a photo of Trig from this March looks a lot like the Palin girls.

Sarah makes up a tale, the others are not paying attention and there is no billing insurance for a delivery by Sarah cause it was no delivery by Sarah. No one else at the hospital except maybe the woman doctor that knew of this baby was involved. This would have been very easy to pull off.

Why would the Palins send their child to another school by herself to live with relatives in another city by herself and then become home schooled?

They have all experienced the perks and pitfalls of public life together, but at the end of the day, they don't seem to have found a way to deal with criticism, real or perceived, without becoming defensive or aggressive. As a result, there have been outbursts and lashing out (Willow on FaceBook, Bristol's "middle finger" comment on DWTS, for example), but not much to suggest secure family bonds. It's more like when they sense an attack from "them" they circle the wagons. Early on, I held to a scenario very close to that of Rationalist. Gryphen, however, unequivocally has stated that Bristol is not Trig's mother. Because he has done the research, I accept that. What if Bristol was pregnant and Sarah did plan to adopt the child and then faked a preganancy to cover it. BUT, Bristol's child passed away. This sounds crass, but if an infant were needed on short notice, perhaps only a child with significant health issues (such as Down syndrome) was available.

He's right; Trig's birth hoax wasn't a conspiracy, it's just a sordid lie. Since then, however, I do believe there has been what could be called a conspiracy to keep this quiet. Given all the time Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt and the McCains spent around that family, I can't believe that at some point Sarah didn't yell at Bristol, "Take your f#@king baby! He's crying!"

re: Valley Girl, do some reading about dysfunctional families, particularly those with drug, alcohol problems and mental illness; being defensive and hyper-protective of the family unit is a trait. You just proved our point.

re: Bristol's ghostwriter at 5:00, thanks for the confirmation that Bristol really is Trig's birthmom. Only Bristol would have been paying this much attention to what we've been saying about her. My personal theory has long been that Trig was born extremely premature in December 07; Bristol was probably only 5 1/2-6 months pregnant, hence she only had to "disappear" for 1 1/2 months. And how's The Book of Lies coming, by the way? I hear your two predecessors quit because Bristol was being such a bitch.

...Among the charges in the book, tentatively titled “In Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of our Tumultuous Years,” are that Palin attacked opponents “in coordinated attacks, utilizing what we called ‘Fox News surrogates,’ friendly blogs, ghost-written op-eds, media opinion polls (that we often rigged), letters to editors, and carefully edited speeches.”

The manuscript also accuses Palin’s campaign of working with the Republican Governors’ Association on a campaign ad in violation of election law:

In his book, Bailey says the allegation was true. Palin and her aides marched along the block in front of the hotel again and again in order to allow a camera operator to capture footage for the ad, he said. “(Palin aide) Kris Perry, when orchestrating that nutty- parade at the hotel, was following the directions of the RGA cameraman and/or whomever he was working for,” Bailey wrote.
“Far worse, Sarah conducted multiple takes and knew exactly what was happening. She had, I suddenly believed, broken the law,” Bailey wrote.

Two things are the clinchers for me in believing the Tundra Turd faked the pregnancy. First, the ludicrous wild ride story has only two possibilities: she was trying to kill the baby by miscarrying, or she faked the pregnancy. Second, a premature, jaundiced, hole-in-the-heart, Down syndrome baby absolutely would not be in the hallway on the day of birth being photographed. How has this been kept secret when so many nurses, doctors, etc. would have to know? HYPPA. Health professionals value their licensing and jobs. Very simple.

Any student of history knows that in past centuries a woman's only source of power was her womb. I'm sure there have been numerous, notable examples of women faking pregnancies to get their "heirs" on the throne. Palin, with the help of her family's and state's dysfunction, introduced this concept to modern politics. For journalists (even certain AK bloggers I respect) to be squeamish about this is to show their ignorance of history and human nature. Think of all the family secrets that are seeping out of the Kennedy legend or the Bushes or Clintons. Or the Windsors. . . If history is too hard for you, think Shakespeare. Where there is evil, there are lies. Sarah Palin is no mad-mom protecting her daughter. She's a mentally unstable opportunist on the scale of other dictators and demigods. That's why we need those brave enough to ask the questions. Posit theories. Do the real work even when it's ugly.

Sorry folks. Sarah Palin appeared to have "gained weight" in December -- not just in February when she "started wearing scarves". I didn't vote for her for Governor, would never vote for her for President, but the truth is what the truth is. While men may have said everyone was shocked that she was suddenly pregnant, many Juneau women weren't at all surprised. There are lots of interesting stories out there. The faked pregnancy isn't one of them.

The fact that CBJ founded an organization that helps teens who are victims of sexual abuse and molestation adds a whole new wrinkle to the story.

There just might be a teen out there who signed away rights to her DS baby and has no idea that he ended up with the Palin family.

ValleyGirl @4:29 thinks that rumors about the Palin teenagers partying a lot are "the only thing one has to stop a Palin Presidency."

First of all, bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Secondly, you moron, 99% of this country is blissfully unaware of any of this crap about Bristol, Willow, Track. MANY are, however, aware of the fact that Sarah Palin is an incompetent stooge. Palin's approval ratings aren't in the toilet due to anything but her own shitty personality, statements and actions.

    ValleyGirl @ 4:29:

A a survivor of a dysfunctional family (although not nearly to the degree of the Palin family, thank goodness) I can tell you from experience that:

    1. Children of a dysfunctional family often do not KNOW they're in one because it's all they've ever known. They perceive it as 'normal'.

    2. The adults involved are either so disturbed that they feel their family life IS normal, or they are aware of the dysfunction but will do most anything to cover it up. Peripheral family members may see the problems but choose to support the children as much as possible instead of bringing the truth to light and potentially making things worse.

There are mountains of signs to show that there are some serious problems in the Palin family. At the very best there is ample evidence of neglect. There could easily be psychological or emotional abuse as well.

    Hi, ValleyGirl:

Thanks for not wanting to pick a fight here.

I have a question for you.

    Is sarah´s wig a ¨hater?¨

It refuses to remain in place and goes all cockeyed, it refuses to take a bath, and it fig-its maniacally for camera attention.

Is there any other explanation for this behavior?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous7:00 AM

Sarah was indeed pregnant, but lost the baby through miscarriage. Having declared her pregnancy after McCain's nomination, she could not afford to divulge the truth as it would destroy her VP chances. Hence, the scarfs and jackets. In the meanwhile, her doctor was on the search for a baby for adoption, and informed Sarah about a successful match while she was in Texas. Hence the hurry to return back and "birth" the baby in the middle of nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I would add that Palin need not have wanted a DS baby as a political prop. She had little options: (1) have teenager Bristol keep Trig; (2) be uncovered as the politician who "adopted out" her DS grandchild. This last option would also take considerable effort to happen quickly and eternally confidentially.

The question is why did Sarah not simply adopt Trig. This was once a common option for pregnant teenage moms and would be seen as highly altruistic.

I think Rationalist is correct - Sarah appears to be very private and secretive. At this point, she had no political adviser with her personal trust with this information and who also knew politics outside Alaska. Perhaps Sarah believed it was best for her family and for the interest brewing nationally in conservative circles for her to "have" the child and leave Bristol out of it.

If Sarah had not become a national figure, no one in Alaska (where I live) would have cared if she faked a pregnancy to protect her daughter. Many people just don't care. This is the inertia which prevents the story from breaking.

The problem is that Sarah has gone beyond the simple white lie. Once in the limelight, she has badly answered questions.

More importantly, she voluntarily embellished the lie to make money and fame. She had the opportunity to keep the matter as private as she could. She chose not to. If the story broke before she had embellished and made a career of the lie, *no one would have faulted her* - because "she did what she believed" was in her daughter's best interest. That would be a compelling story of her love for family.

What her followers should care about is the conflict between her stated search for truth (from some recent Fox interview perhaps the Obama-Libya one) and her embellished lies for royalties and speaker fees. These lies include conversations with God which could never have happened as stated. I do not personally believe in a personal God and am not making light of anyone who does. However, Sarah lies about her religious experiences. Even this is not something her most evangelical following will not take note of because their filters are so strong and hold a faith of a higher purpose to whatever she does. Alas.

For the rest of us, Sarah needs to be held to the same standards of honesty as the other VP or presidential candidates.

Sarah is deep into the lie. Her best solution is still to voluntarily come clean. She will not be faulted among her faithful since she "did it for her family." She can donate a sufficient amount of money to causes. She can remain a highly sought after motivational speaker and television personality. She can re-invent herself once more -- she is really good at this! She could sit out the 2012 race, but perhaps enter down the road.

There is another story that fits in with this explanation. Readers at Palins Deceptions captured the My Space messages sent from Bristol to various friends. In the summer of 2007, Bristol wrote (to Johnny?) that Sarah overheard her talking on the phone, and that Sarah thought that Bristol was pregnant. As a punishment, Sarah took Bristol's phone away for a few days.

In a normal family, a mother, suspecting that a 16 year old daughter was pregnant would have taken her to a doctor for a check up.

  63. The Rationalist's scenario is entirely believable, the very timeline I believe too. It's simple to understand in human terms as well; the Palin's may actually have experienced a humane moment with Bristol's first pregnancy. That they acted on it inappropriately is another story.

@6:32, don't be sorry! Women (and men) DO gain weight outside of pregnancy. I guess you're not too up on simple facts, huh?

    NICE TRY.

I would add that, in looking at pictures of Sarah Palin over the years, she seems to have yo-yoed in weight more than most people do. She also tends to have a "pie face" when not very thin. And who's to say she didn't pack in a few extra Crunch Wrap Supremes in '07, to fool morons like you who need to see "fat" to buy a pregnancy claim.

I have had 4 children and the only places I gained weight noticeably were in my belly and my chest. Not everyone gets big all over. Some do, some don't. Either way, your claim is a FAIL.

    Anon at 7am-

    Nice try, RAM!

Your little argument is flat busted upon the knowledge that Sarah and Todd did NOT "hurry back" from Texas. They merely pretended to hurry back.

    Once AGAIN...
Sarah and Todd rook their ORIGINAL FLIGHTS home. The original, scheduled flights. Todd did not "check on earlier flights" as asserted by Sarah in her book.

Sarah never intended on going to the formal event the night after the speech. She knew she couldn't wear her ridiculous "disguise" of a heavy coat and scarf at a formal event.

CBJ...IF she was called (seriously doubtful) said that it wasn't "unreasonable" for Palin to fly home- because she knew Palin was NOT PREGNANT.

For any other doubters, please explain this:

Sarah said on camera that she waived medical privilege so that CBJ could talk freely about the "straightforward and uncomplicated" birth of Trig. Sarah obviously believed since she had gifted CBJ with the Family Physician Of The Year award...that she could count on CBJ to "fall in line".

Instead, CBJ shows up to her ADN interview with lawyer in tow and when asked to simply confirm that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig Palin...she said she was unable to confirm that fact.

If Sarah Palin had released her from HIPAA liability...why on EARTH wouldn't CBJ finally put all this insanity to rest by simply stating "yes, Gov. Palin gave birth to Trig Palin". She wouldn't have even had to admit to attending the birth herself.

But she "couldn't confirm that fact".

Think on that and get back to us, 7:00am.

In which Sarah gets shunted onto an Alaska Airlines flight to Anchorage with a layover in Seattle

Sarah was wearing a cheap rip-off of a Dries Van Noten thigh-length coat – you could tell from the poor stitching on the collar and around the cuffs – and she was stuffed in to it fit to bursting, like Chris Christie in a thong. It looked for all the world like she’d swallowed a big square pillow. She was nattering away to a man with a face like a dyspeptic badger, who was wearing ski boots, a shell suit and a leather jacket with a Slayer logo on the back. I assumed this was Todd. He nodded agreement every now and then but didn’t appear to add much else to anything. While she spoke at him, she kept patting at her stomach like the baby was kicking.

I was a bit concerned about getting on to the plane without her seeing me, but fortunately a nice flight attendant spotted my Balenciaga jacket and my bespoke Dior shoes and took all us old biddies on to the plane first. Always wear your best to the airport. The gays like it and it can be worth an upgrade.

When Sarah saw that someone was getting on the plane before her, she made a face just like the one that Joan Rivers makes when you tell her there’s no more booze.

I hid in the middle of the group until we were on the plane, and then hunkered down in my seat right at the front with a strategically positioned newspaper.

When I woke up from my little nap, we were in the air and three-quarters of the way to Seattle. Most of the plane was dozing. I took a look around with my makeup mirror while I fixed my face. Sarah and the Todd were two seats behind me and across the aisle at the back of the first class section.

He was playing some kind of electronic game, and he sniggered occasionally like Muttley from Whacky Races.

She in the aisle seat reading Cosmo. Every now and then, at quite regular intervals of five minutes or so, she would let out a little noise and clutch at her stomach, then look around furtively, almost as if she was checking to see if anyone had noticed. This went on for the best part of half an hour.

Of course, all the hosties had on their best “not my problem” faces, so they barely noticed that she was there, let alone her rhythmic grunting.

Next, she jabbed Todd in the gut and made a gesture with her head. Todd reached into his bag and fished out a bottle of water. She had a drink and then, lowering the bottle down to seat level, she splashed water around her feet. A little bit went into the aisle and glistened there. She handed the bottle back to Todd, and then made a little “o” sound of surprise.

Whatever reaction she was expecting from the flight attendants, it did not eventuate.

She pouted for a while and then got up to go to the toilet up at the front of the plane. I pretended to be asleep, but I was wearing my sunglasses so my eyes were wide open. Just as she passed me, her entire baby-bulge moved directly downwards about eight inches and I saw the bottom of a bright green polyester cushion (with yellow flowers, no less) poke out from under the edge of her coat.

  70. I heard two news stories this morning that seemed like openings for discussing Babygate.

One was an interview with James Stewart about his new book, Tangled Webs: How False Statements Are Undermining America. Palin may have started with a family matter, but she wove a very tangled web as she gained votes and money from her heartfelt tales of the pregnancy that never was.

The other was the focus on Three Cups of Tea being a non-fiction book that is indeed part fiction. People are outraged and calling for the publisher to take immediate steps to correct their product.

Time for Palin to prove Going Rogue -- pregnancy, amnio, delivery. etc. -- is actually true or the publisher to withdraw the book.

What if Sarah did indeed give birth to a "Trig", but that child died soon after birth due to Sarah's gross prenatal neglect? She starved and squished the baby while it was in-utero. She purposefully "thrashed her guts" while pregnant, even though she had two previous miscarriages. She decided a speech in TX was way more important than seeking medical help at a hospital when she started leaking amniotic fluid and experienced contractions. She decided that having her child born in Alaska was WAY more important to her than his health, so she flew thousands of miles back to Alaska, a trip which took, I believe, 12 hours. She then decided that it was more important for him to be born in Wasilla, so she by passed a hospital equipped to deliver a premature Down Syndrome infant, and drove another hour to her local hospital. That hospital was not equipped to handle a potentially problematic birth, and a compromised infant. Keep in mind Sarah knew the infant she was carrying had Down Syndrome before he was born, and did not make any special arrangements for him to be born in a hospital specially equipped to perform any life saving efforts he may need. Neither she nor her Dr. knew if Trig would have any problems after he was born. Any one of those choices put Trig at great risk. Couple all of them together, and it looks like she was doing everything in her power to abort that child. Maybe that infant died due to Sarah's choices. That would not go over big with all those Conservatives she panders to, and knew her decisions would cost her the VP nomination. Perhaps that is where the pictures of a frail malformed infant come from. He was the original. The Trig we see now, was adopted, to replace the infant Sarah so callously treated while pregnant. He's a prop to cover Sarah's very poor decisions. This scenario seems more likely to ME.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous8:24 AM

My personal belief is that if Bristol was involved in the Trig story, Trig was born as a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome baby, not a Down Syndome baby. This would be the baby with the deformed ears. When Sarah started her fake pregnancy to cover up, it may not have been so much for Bristol's sake as for what Sarah thought it would do to her political career. (hence the rumors that Sarah blamed Bristol for losing the election) and I'm guessing, Sarah had no idea the baby would be born with FAS when she started down the fake PG path. Then when the baby was born and it was obviously FAS, that presented a dilema. Sarah would appear to have been drinking during the pregnancy and that would ruin her credability worse than an unmarried PG daughter, so another plan had to be hatched. "We'll find another baby with DS and adopt him to explain the fake pregnancy and reinforce my anti abortion cred."

The question is, what happened to the first baby? Was he institutionalized? Did he die? Adopted?

And the other question is, why the wild ride story? Why not just give the speech and go back to Alaska and then fake labor and delivery? Why claim your water broke at the speech? That story only draws more unwanted attention.

I am glad andrew printed the letter on his blog. I think one thing that stops people from investigating the fake preg is the idea that too many people would have to have known the truth - and because of that it is impossible that it would have remained quiet for this long. no, there doesn't need to be a bunch of people who know the truth about what happened. only a handful, possibly even less.

I don't know, he looks like a Palin. I think it's more likely she was just incredibly reckless with his life. It's shocking enough that when her water broke, she opted to take a three thousand mile trip instead of rushing to the nearest hospital. Still can't believe that didn't receive constant news coverage back in 2008. If a non-famous mother had tried that, she'd probably be arrested and charged, at minimum, with child endangerment.

Sarah Palin went to at least 5 or 6colleges to get one degree. That must be some type of record?

How many high schools did Bristol attend?

    1) Bristol went to Wasilla
    2) Then some school away from home that accepts pregnant kids with mono(lol).
    3) Then Bristol was home schooled for some reason (count this as a different school).
4)I'm guessing she went back to Wasilla.
(There could be more schools Bristol attended)

Anybody seeing a pattern here? Mother and daughter can't seem to get an education at one school? Sarah and Bristol have to go to multiple schools just to graduate?

I'm starting to wonder if Sarah was pregnant in the different colleges she attended and had to jump around like Bristol did?

Can some one fill me in on the time sequence of the letter "signed" by CBJ (the day before election?), this ADN interview, and Palin's statement 'on camera that she waived medical privilege so that CBJ could talk freely about the "straightforward and uncomplicated" birth of Trig.'

Is there a record of the ADN interview? Did she say anything? If not, why the interview?

I like to correct what I posted earlier regarding the high schools and home schools Bristol attended. I read the blog again and it listed some of her high schools she attended and it looks like I got it wrong. Regardless of the name of the high schools Bristol attended, Bristol went to several different high schools and home schools during her mono/ pregnancy outbreaks. Not normal for an average girl and especially not normal for a girl who's mother did the same thing in college.

  92. Rationalist makes a good case for there not needing to be a conspiracy. Sarah really only needed Todd and CBJ.

    Two questions about the scenario:

    1. “Then, according to the PRINCIPAL OF WEST HIGH, SHE LEFT THAT SCHOOL after a couple of months, theoretically to be home schooled.” [emphasis added]

I don't think there's evidence that the principal of West High was ever interviewed. The length of time Bristol was at Anchorage seems to be based on rumor although I have a vague memory of reading a statement made by Bristol that she finished her course work early.

There was an interview of the Asst. Principal of Wasilla High:

"Mark Okeson, the assistant principal at Wasilla High School, told the Chicago Tribune that Bristol started her junior year last fall, in the town where Sarah Palin grew up.
He said Bristol inexplicably transferred to an Anchorage high school midyear, leaving Levi behind.
"I never heard the story why," he said.
    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/republican_race/2008/09/01/2008-09-01_bristol_palins_pregnancy_was_an_open_sec.html

Bristol's transfer is rarely presented in context. She, Willow, and Piper also transferred the year before when Sarah moved to Juneau for the Jan-April 2007 legislative session. The difference for the legislative session beginning Jan. '08 was that Willow and Piper transferred from Wasilla to Juneau and Bristol went to Anchorage.

    2. “After that, the doctor said "It was not unreasonable for her to fly back" with a LAWYER PRESENT and then has refused all interviews since.” [emphasis added]

Is it established fact that CBJ had a lawyer present? It's not mentioned in any of the ADN articles or the ADN editor's blog discussing their investigation. Where did this idea originate?

  93. "I do have a couple of oddly shaped pieces of this babygate puzzle that I don't yet know what to do with..."

I hope you'll consider just throwing them out on the blog as 'oddly shaped pieces of a puzzle' and let them sit there driving Palin nuts. We really don't need to explain the evidence or provide a possible scenario. The more strange pieces that are 'out there', the more pressure there'll be on Palin to address the alleged pregnancy.

ValleyGirl. Dysfunctional families are the most protective of each other. They don't want others to know about the real family so they keep the secrets buried. Try working in child protective services and see how far your theory goes. Dysfunction and ugly family secrets are deeply protected!!

We all must write to each media outlet we watch and let them know we want answers regarding Palin story on birth of Trig. As mothers and women who know, we cannot read the story of the "wild ride" without asking lots of questions. Twitter and email the talking heads we watch and with enough questions so they will at least think about this. If everyone who reads the blogs on sarah palin lies did this, we may see some results.

Attack of the bots. Gosh, obviously these stories are striking a nerve! My favorite bots are the ones who claim to be friends of the Palins and know what a close knit family they are. LOL.

The one who claims that dysfunctional families don't defend each other is ludicrous. How does ValleyGirl think they keep the years of dysfunction quiet if they don't defend the family? Mommy isn't worth a whole lot of cash to support their extravagant life style if she can't milk her supporters with her family values stance.

  97. Pretty sure Bristol got a high school diploma, not a GED. She got credit for correspondence courses but also spent some time on campus the semester after Tripp's birth (remember the rumors about the swim coach?)and participated in the school's graduation ceremony.

Levi, on the other hand, dropped out the year before that, his senior year, around the time Trig was born and hockey season ended, and neither finished his diploma (remember his losing the job on the slope?) nor earned his GED.

  98. Source of the statement that Dr. CBJ brought a lawyer to an ADN interview?

I don't know. It's been stated as fact for a long time. Anyone know?

Has anyone noticed that the flying monkeys swarm over articles/blogs that $ahara is afraid to threaten with lawsuit?

My theory. Brisdull was prego in '07 (too many rumors not to be). Continued to party. When she started to seriously show, she was taken out of school. Delivered a premie FAS baby - that would be "ruffles'.

Knowing that she was a possible (or the Kochs had already told her she was) VP candidate something had to be done. She announced her pregnancy as soon as McCain was for sure the candidate for POTUS. FAS would be a stigma.

What happened to "ruffles", and where did TriG come from? Who was ruffles sperm donor?

The Anch sister had to be in on the whole thing, because Brisdull stayed with her during cough "mono" cough, but exactly who else? I think F. Graham may have been involved in the baby switch.

Theories are just that, theories, until someone speaks out. If the press had done it's traditional job, we would not still be at this place in the story.

  100. Wild Ride vs. Fake Pregnancy: Audrey posted about this, and how the fake pregnancy was actually more likely. I suggest you read it.

I understand how some anti-Palin people might have thought the labor and delivery story Sarah herself told was damning enough and they "didn't need to go there" about belly size. Well, apparently it wasn't damning enough. Didn't hurt her poll numbers at all.

But more importantly, the Wild Ride has an insurmountable factual problem: it doesn't comport with the overwhelming evidence that Palin wasn't pregnant.

There are enough photos within the 6 weeks before Trig's "birthday" where she simply does not have a baby belly. The Wild Ride can't explain that. No girdle can explain the flat belly, free movement, and face free of minimal discomfort.

So, go ahead and say the Wild Ride makes the most sense to you. You certainly have plenty of company with Alaskan bloggers and others. But Audrey was convinced you are wrong, and I agree with Audrey.

    Rant over. :)

Good God the bots are so damn dumb!

Yeah the Palin's really are such a close knit family!

All close knit families that I know repeatedly send their children elsewhere to live, and hide pregnancies from their own parents and other children until they are 7 months along!

WTF is wrong with you people do you not have any common sense, or reason what so ever? And we are supposed to trust you to vote? I wouldn't trust you to tie your shoes properly!

No wonder we are freakin' doomed!

Maybe logic should be taught in schools cuz it's obvious so many of us have none!

there is NO WAY someone had a baby in late February and got pregnant again BEFORE April 1. I hate the Palins as much as anyone, but I'm a mum, and that is IMPOSSIBLE!

    ReplyDelete
  103. Anonymous4:31 PM

mum at 3:35 - Do your homework. It is entirely possible for a woman to get pregnant within a month of giving birth. Happens all the time.

Plus, you're assuming the Palins have been truthful about birth dates. Which I seriously doubt.

I'm very sorry... you're right. It IS possible. Though highly improbable you'd have to agree?!?! Do you know how few women start menstruating within a month? And how painful it is to have sex that soon? I'm not saying it isn't physically possible. I'm saying it is a bigger stretch of the imagination than believing that Bristol had her fathers baby. Get real people... if you want to take the high road, take the high road with intelligence, and spare me the 'I'm really Bristol' rants.
