Frank Bailey on Hardball.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I LOVE that he was able to talk about Palin writing her own glowing letters to the editor and then convincing supporters to sign them. that was one of my favorite revelations from the leaked manuscript.

And just so you know I completely disagree with Bailey about Sarah being smart, and I don't think she read as much about Alaska business as he claims.  In fact the books she had delivered to her office were almost exclusively gossip and celebrity magazines like People and US.

What is the date on that video that is showed during the interview? Sarah is wearing black and a scarf but doesn't look pregnant.

Yeah, I havelosts o problems with Bailey's nook and a, sad that he is getting so much attention. But, i guess as a formwe staffer this is expected. The woman, Palin, is not smart..not book smart, not people smart and inarticulate as well. People think she has charisma, and I guess his attraction and devotion to her equate as smart.......But we know "that woman is an IDIOT"

I want to throw up. He gets on the shows and says she is smart? All these books all these blogs are not doing a bit of good bringing Granny Quitter down, she has money, and she is using it.

How do you know what was delivered to her office?!

I think Bailey has to show that he is not all against Palin, not to validate the push back from her gang.

The push back against Shallott from her press guy and the ADN reporter makes sense now as we hear about the movie.

I make a bet we see a fake birth certificate and trump up birther pics of Trig in the movie.

It amazes me when people willfully agree to be used for subterfuge. I have learned of tactics unscrupulous people use psychologically manipulating people to do wrong schmoozing them that "good people" do such things for the good of all. Sometimes they instill fear that if you don't comply "bad" things will happen or people will get hurt. The tactic is called FOG, fear, obligation and guilt. Such manipulators are human predators pushing buttons and playing human vulnerabilities to their advantage.

Consider C4P public stance boasting of falsifying votes on DWTS so People love Bristol as a means to their end Palin be in the white house.

I wonder if the Palins set up the temporary organizations contracting her to speak. I have sensed her popularity was partly orchestrated to control false impressions.

I think she's more clever than smart. "Smart" is generally associated with intelligence, whereas "clever" is often paired with deviousness. She has to have *some* skills to get as far as she has, even if moral people would be hesitant to use them.

I walked into the office of one of her famed 'disgruntled' employees under the bus the same summer she quit her job. You know the one, the one from Going Rogue that couldn't keep his food off his tie? (Coming from the same woman who had food or liquid stains on her top and too-big shoes on the red carpet a few weeks ago? If that woman is not mentally-ill. . .)

We were early, he was late. I had time to stare at his desk. It had nothing but gossip magazines and it was opened to a story on Sarah.

    I was dumbfounded.

That must be what her desk looked like.

He was with her constantly. She constantly had/has books with her. Why would he lie about that and if he distorted that, what else is he distorting?

    Fair question.

I don't think supporters signed the self-written letters. It may have been the kids doing the signing or friends or even SP, herself, committing forgery. Weren't the names made up? They were not real people.

It's a perfect example of what SP is all about. She is a fake from wig to toe.

I think there is something to Bailey's explanation that the Brand didn't want to appear too Alaskan. (Wrong move, but valid.) However, imagine where she might be if she'd said, "Well to this point it is a lot of wonk stuff on Alaska resources and business. I get to the LA Times when I can. My secret love is People."

Instead, tellingly, she laid on the bullshit with a chip on her shoulder.

I love that everyone is making a big deal about Bailey revealing confidential e-mails and referring to him as disloyal....

Didn't Palin herself, gain access to coworkers' computers and rat them out before she quit the oil commission?

Frank is still a panty sniffer if he thinks she was down-to-earth and simply corrupted by power.

Former Governor Hickel said she lost her moral-compass.

Too many people give her credit for things she is not. She was a crafty, manipulative and self-serving bitch - there's no servant's heart there. . .everything was a means to an end, and that was making Sarah something more than overwhelmingly banal.

Extraordinary gets a scholarship to college for their legendary athletic strengths. Extraordinary comes out of five colleges with multiple degrees and many disciplines. Extraordinary does not have to write glowing letters about themselves to beef up her image.

Sarah Palin may be laughing all the way to the bank every day, but she is still pathetic.

So in the world of ultimate manipulation what if Frank was set up by saree to spread certain words that would make her angry but in the end defended her as smart, well read, family oriented and the mother of Trig. Not a bad way to get some points across while getting bitch slapped a little in areas you could care less about

So many questions on Bailey at this point. Why DID he wait so long? I suppose fear of losing a good job, benefits, being tossed aside as a disloyal employee, which would show up on his resume. No one in her Office would have given him a glowing recommendation. It would have ruined his life, basically, and that of his family as well.

Still, he should have walked away, quit as soon as he saw the discrepancies, knowing that doing what's right hurts, but in the longterm is worth it.

When Hannity challenges him on waiting til he got a book deal where he's paid, well, that'll hurt his reputation a bit. He should have either released the e-mails (right away) to the proper authorities, or do what Andree McLeod did and file an ethics complaint. It's the less ideal way, and doesn't make a cent, but, it would have ensured people that he was "all about getting SP investigated".

I'm not judging him and don't even know what I'd do either in those circumstances. It's true he quit and no doubt had no salary or financial source, and the book helps him while he spent a year writing.

Chris asked the right questions, but I just wish these guys would give their guests more time. These 5-minute interviews are so frustrating. They need a 60 Minutes slot.

I hope Frank Bailey gets a slot on 60 minutes. His point that America needs honest, capable people in office and SP does NOT have these qualities is important.

That said, I do think that SP had books and newspapers delivered to her office and "looked" over them. They were PROPS for her image.

She was angry and defensive about the "what do you read" question because gossip magazines, with a little text and a lot of pictures is actually her level.

Frank knows he crossed the moral line, and is trying to atone, but I don't think he is willing to admit how completely in thrall he was to a psychopath.

6:09-You may be on to something..like the tit for tat with Hannity..why would Hannity even have him on unless it benefited Sarah?? This whole thing with the manuscript being leaked, then going on all these show and ending up saying she's smart..sound scripted and paid for to me..I don't trust Sarah or anyone who was blinded by the light!

I think the book could have been entitled "Blind Worship." And, after watching a few interviews, I think he is still struggling to come to terms with just how unqualified Palin is/was for any position of importance. Thus, he desperately wants to believe that she could have done better in the Couric interview. And he desperately wants to believe that he did not invest all those years propping up someone who was baically incompetent. Thus, he must find some redeeming qualities/abilities, real or imagined. He has probably convinced himself that she did start out as a viable, qualified candidate who was somehow changed and corrupted over time. Perhaps that's how he lives with the fact that he personally did so much to put her where she is today.

Bailey is still a douche. The only real difference is maybe now he knows he's a douche.
