Readers questions posed to Frank Bailey over at the Washington Post.

I will post a few of Bailey's answers here just to give you a taste of what is being discussed, but I encourage everybody to visit the Washington Post and read it for yourselves.

FRANK BAILEY :
Wow, we need leaders who are strong, principled, and honest. With the turmoil going on around the world, I have to say that she would be a disaster as president, because she is none of these things. Her principles are pushing her own ambition, she can not handle criticism, and we detail repeatedly in the book many instances where she was flat out dishonest.

FRANK BAILEY :
I did everything that I could to comply with the Attorney General's office as I did in the fall of 2008 when they asked for emails. These are my emails, sent to and from me on my personal accounts.

We detail points in the book specifically where the Attorney General's office wanted specific emails removed.

FRANK BAILEY :
Palin is doing what I did when I worked for her. Avoid the meat of the details in the book, and demonize the messenger. She personally has not commented, but her surrogates are. In fact today before the segment on The View, Elizabeth Hasselback tried four times to get a statement from Palin and she simply would not comment.

It is difficult to argue with her own words. They tell the story.

I watched Bailey on the View and I was disappointed that Hasselback is still carrying water for Palin, and that the interview was so damn short.  It could have been much more expansive and detailed.

I certainly expect Joy Behar to give him MUCH more time later on today.

"Her principles are pushing her own ambition, she can not handle criticism, and we detail repeatedly in the book many instances where she was flat out dishonest."

If you had to sum her up in one, concise sentence, that would be it. I'm guessing supportive evidence is what the book entails.

Thanks to Frank for doing his part.

I note that the question at Wapo on Palin's fake pregnance was loaded in a manner that made it deniable. The question was whether Willow was the mother, to which Bailey could safely answer in the negative. It was fixed. Bailey knows the truth and is not going to tell. This makes the book into a feel-good experience for some readers who want to buy it. But essentially worthless for people who want Palin exposed for her deception. And it's not like Bailey doesn't know. It's that Bailey thinks it's worth keeping a secret for some reason. And that suggests that the reasons for Palin faking the pregnance are again, quite sordid.

In any case, the release of the Mansour email info in the previous post here, steals the fire from Bailey. Probably planned too.

Bailey continues to cover up Palin's faked pregnancy and you consider him a longlost friend and push his book for him?

    Ho hum.

A very interesting answer from Bailey to this question over at the Washington Post:-

    "Kill a rumor (or not)
Here is a vicious, vicious rumor that maybe you can kill, or confirm. When Sarah Palin was pregnant withTrig, Bristol and Willow were removed from their school and sent to private school. This created rumors that Bristol was pregnant and not Sarah. Yet when Bristol became pregnant, that killed that rumor. Yet, and here is the vicious, vicious rumor: the dark secret was that it was Willow who was pregnant, and fears of that getting out might have hurt the Palin Vice Presidential campaign. Are you able to confirm that Willow was not pregnant and that Sarah is the mother of Trig?"

    May 24, 2011 10:58 AM

    A.
    Frank Bailey :

    This is just false.
    --------------------------
    What is false, Mr. Bailey?

That Sarah is the mother of Trig or that Willow was not pregnant?

I find his answer ambigious at best.

I was VERY annoyed at the constant interruptions by Hasslebeck and Walters! Bailey could hardly finish one of his answers. I was disappointed that Hasslebeck kept asserting that those emails are in the book illegally and that Bailey didn't get to respond. And what kind of BS was Walters trying to push about the *great* relationship between Scarah and Toad? Sorry, Babs...but Bailey spent FOUR YEARS around these people! How much time did YOU spend around them? And didn't it occur to you that they put on the happy face of a perfect marriage when the cameras are around? Idiot.

I'm already about 15% thru my book. :)

Although I am a major liberal I have to say I really like him and think he is a genuinely good person. I thought Barbara Walters was a bit of a palinbot today...maybe she can be friends with Sarah. I don't know why but I think not.

On The View, at the close of the Bailey segment, Elizabeth noted that "attempts to get comments from $arah Palins' ATTORNEYS were met with no response."

NOTHING about trying to contact Palin herself... FOUR TIMES! hmmm.

I too am looking forward to Bailey's appearance on Behar's show as she's not 'muzzled' there. When you have Hasslebitch, Walters and her gay hater business partner/production partner Bill Geddie, it is a landmine to speak there.

I didn't think Elizabeth was as much of a water carrier for Palin than she could have been or has been in the past. I think Bailey will get those types of questions from most who interview him.

Gryph, if you know, is the allegation that Bailey is being "investigated" by the AK AG misleading and put out by Palin's people? The way I'm looking at it he showed them the emails and they asked him to remove a few, he did, end of story.

Don't blame Hasselbach and the ladies for the fact nothing of interest came forth. Blame Bailey because that's the way he wants to keep it. Joy Behar will produce nothing more of consequence either.

Here we have an example of a religious righty who wants to profit from a tell-all book but is careful to not do any real lasting damage to his party and his convictions. It's not the first and it won't be the last. There will be many more written with the express purpose of profiting from book sales and accomplishing little else that goes toward telling us something important.

So will Joy Behar put the question of Palin's faked pregnancy to Bailey in a way that won't give him an out on the answer. Of course not, it's most likely already agreed that is off limits. I can't wait to be bored further!

Wonder if Palin appears on a Faux show tonight?

She doesn't have the ability to 'turn a cheek'!!

Just think - if she does, what her appearance will look like and speech will sound like!! Talk about word salads!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous11:41 AM

I cannot and will not watch the View. I find Babawawa as revolting as Mrs. Todd Palin. When is the last time she has had a real interview. They are always ass kissing softball love fests..no matter who she interviews, they know she won't ask for any truth. She has made her living on being a hanger-oner to celebrities. Also, too, I laugh when I see her face in the paper....she has to have had more face lifts than Cindy McCain (and that is saying a LOT).

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is, simply put, a crack pot. I remember her panty sniffing during the election. I thought, however, after she saw the bottom of the bus, she might be more prone to look at her idol in a different light. Sounds like that was not the case...which just reinforces her crack pot status. Good God..this woman is being allowed to raise children! Can you imagine how sick those poor little tykes will be!!??

So, I knew that nothing would come from watching today's interview. I will watch Joy tonight as I love her honesty..she doesn't suffer fools gladly or let her guests get away with BS.

And...yes...I agree....if Frank continues to pretend he believes in the pregnancy, he will never gain any creditability with me.

How time flies. Already it’s been a year since Sarah Palin accused me of peering into Piper’s bedroom window, Glenn Beck first called me a stalker and Todd Palin had a work crew double the height of the ten-foot fence between the Palins’ property and the lot on which my rented house stood.

As I write in THE ROGUE about May 25, 2010:

“All day, I hear hammering and sawing. Todd has about twelve guys throwing up a new fence that’s roughly twice the height of the old one. I’m all in favor of the fence. Maybe once it’s up, Sarah will chill and we can both get on with our business. No one brings over a blueberry pie.”

Sarah had written on Facebook the night before, “Maybe we’ll welcome him with a homemade blueberry pie tomorrow so he’ll know how friendly Alaskans are.”

I agree with the majority of your post with the exception of Bailey's 'faux baby' belief.

It is well known that the majority of the male species would never know if a female is pregnant or not until it hits them in the face. Most men are just clueless on this and I don't expect Bailey to reveal anything earth shattering. It's not in most men's DNA to identify a pregnancy - never mind a fake one. For woman to believe a male could identify a fake pregnancy just says that they still have no true understanding of the male species.

I saw Frank on Martin Bashir (MSNBC) and Martin was noting that Sarah lets people know she's a christian and how she talks about God a lot. Frank stated he never saw her pray, or pray before meals, or quote scripture or even carry a bible.

Martin was surprised about this and I know that her christian base is starting to see the light as well. It's a sad day for those who worshipped her.

Of course, if she runs, the Fundies will all want to know what church she goes to most Sundays now that she lives in AZ and when she's visiting AK. I imagine she's like my mom, always has to find a church to go to on Sunday, home or away.

Can I jet say WOW, Sarah is a totally psycho bitch on wheels who is definitely suffering from a serious mental disorder. Bailey's book is absolutely incredible, and I have only read about a third of it.

Everything from Todd alerting the campaign office about Sarah's mood, to the fake op-eds, to the utter disdain Sarah had for actual governing are just the beginning. The revelation that Sarah wore those stupid glasses after she has LASIK surgery , and how she treated dedicated volunteers for her primary campaign are must reads.

Sure, I can and do deny that. If it was all about family, SP could have said "thanks but no thanks, call me back in four years" to the VP nom, especially with a special-needs infant and a pregnant teenager. Her own words on GVS the other day indicated that she views her children's privacy as an acceptable sacrifice on the altar of her political ambitions.

Mitch Daniels not running because his wife and daughters vetoed it? THAT's being "all about family."

You must BE Sarah, because only she thinks her intentions are always pure. And she thinks this because of her narcissistic conviction that she is Queen Esther, savior of the United States. So anything she does is "pure," but only in her warped world.

    Palin's Cat Toy

The Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart tells us, again:

... The real signal that Palin isn’t running — and, thus, playing with the political press like a cat toy — was highlighted during a rhetorical victory lap by Lawrence O’Donnell on May 16, the day Donald Trump bowed out of running for president.

According to O’Donnell, the March 2 announcement by Fox News that the contributor contracts of Newt Gingrich and former senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) had been suspended because of their plans to run for president should have been the tip off. Palin and former governor Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.) were rumored then to be considering a campaign. Yet, their names were noticeably absent [from the list of suspended Fox News contributors]. ...
There is video of O'Donnell's "victory lap" at Capehart's column (link above).

Palin may be playing a very dangerous game with the political press, especially so when part of that press employs her. Is Palin stringing-along Fox?

Capehart's column also has a link to his Palin is not running for president column of April 13th.

    Shooting the Messenger

It's hard to feel sorry for Frank Bailey, after all he really reaped what he sowed for so many years. But the predictable character assassination attempts from Sarah Palin's supporters in response to Bailey's tell all book shows just how truthful it is.

The highly anticipated memoir by former Palin aide Bailey released today, holds very few surprises for those of us who watched the Palin fiasco from day one. The book simply reconfirms what some of us wrote about on a daily basis during both the gubernatorial campaign and throughout her half term as governor.

Palin was uninterested as well as incapable of managing government. Her administration was an engine run solely on preening for positive press and destroying her perceived enemies. And her tenure as governor largely consisted of portraying herself as the victim all while failing to take responsibility for the bad decisions she made.

Meanwhile, Palin supporters have responded with criticism of Bailey that fails to accurately reflect the truth even in the most generous interpretation.

On Monday, Politico reported that the spokesman of Palin's political action committee Tim Crawford, accused Bailey of being a bad employee with an axe to grind. “Gov. Palin suspended Bailey and refused to hire Bailey when he sought a position on her vice presidential campaign staff and later with SarahPAC. Mr. Bailey has an axe to grind and abandoned truth in his book."

Poor Sarah. I now have complete pity for her and her family. The rest of her followers will slowly begin to wake up. They are loyal to a mirage of what they want to see, and the "real" Sarah is quite a toxic individual. Her true colors will come out more as she tries to forge a new life in Arizona. Her new neighbors will be coming out with stories of thugs driving around the neighborhood chasing off their visitors. Look how she's already got the jungle gym up, but I doubt there is a safety gate around the pool. No kids there, just another Sarah illusion. Poor Sarah, never good enough to just be an honest human being. She can build up physical walls around herself, but I'm sure her mental ones are not so strong. It must be hell to be her.

"Just sat in B&N for 2 hrs and read his book. is it bad that I still sympathize with her? Todd a little less. They're good people who, like all people in politics, got sucked into the web of deceit and selfishness. I like that Bailey didn't feed the lie about divorce or other petty rumors that have been discussed. There's no doubt the Palins are another Bush and Kennedy family. All cities have one. That's what I got from that book. Sarah is not to be feared. she also, I believe has learned a great deal and always has pure intentions."

    12:17 PM

You're not fooling anyone, troll-bot. You are one of the few that does sympathize with her. They are NOT good people. What's wrong with you? The Palins did not get "sucked into the web of deceit and selfishness." That's who they are.

Oh, if only there weren't a small minority of morons in this country who wouldn't believe $arah Palin's lies and petty rumours she has spread about other people!

"There's no doubt the Palins are another Bush and Kennedy family."

What do you mean by that? That could mean anything.

Yeah, the trailor-park version. The Palins will never have as much money, and "power" as the Kennedy, or Bush families. Wishful thinking. The Palins are so desperate for all that "prestige."

We don't fear $arah Palin the want us to fear her. But, a Palin presidency would be a nightmare for the entire world.

$arah Palin hasn't learned shit! Her intentions are not "pure." She is a fraud, and rotten to the core! You are wasting time trying to change minds.

I'm actually beginning to believe that the fairy tale troll IS La Palin. Who else would so persistently write such ridiculous, poorly written, bullshit about one of the most fucked up, narcissistic politician we've ever seen (and that's saying A LOT)?

    Her intentions are pure?
    It's all about family?
They were a wholesome crew who were sucked into politics?

    What utter and complete crap.

One fact is undeniable...Sarah Palin is a self-serving liar.

However, she may not be aware she is a liar, since most incurable liars become incapable of recognizing the truth. Her lies became her truth, and all real truth-tellers have become liars from her perspective.

Good heavens! How ridiculous to think Frank doesn't honestly believe Sarah was pregnant and gave birth to Trig. Whether or not she actually did is beside the point that the man believes what he saw and was told was the truth.

Honestly--"what kind of BS was Walters trying to push about the *great* relationship between Scarah and Toad? Sorry, Babs...but Bailey spent FOUR YEARS around these people! "

But suddenly because he doesn't say what y'all want to hear he's a liar? Get real! Men don't CARE about women's pregnancies except for (possibly) their wives'. They're certainly not going to analyze or question women about them. A woman says she's pregnant, she is! Men don't go around doing tummy checks. They don't want to think about icky women stuff at all. I'm convinced 90% of the media pushback to Babygate is because men would have to link words like "amniotic fluid" and "leaking" in the same sentence.

Women's pregnancies are simply off men's radars. They know they exist but they really don't want to actively think about them. Many women have faked pregnancies. Most of the people around never questioned it. I don't find it unusual at all this guy believed it.

1:22 Anon, there's a part of the book where Kerm Ketchum, father of Sarah's friend and college room ate, tells Bailey that Sally told him Sarah had LASIK, and he told him one day at the airport that he was going to ask her why she still wore glasses after the surgery.

Well, Sarah didn't take too kindly to old Kerm confronting her, and she did not hide her displeasure at the question.

Bailey claims Sarah wears the glasses to look smart, end of story. The poofy hair is to add height.

LMAO at the comments that are sympthetic to Palin and her cronies. The truth really hurts. I've read 2/3 of Dunn's book and am expecting Bailey's book soon. Its a shame that Bailey chooses to proliferate the lie that Palin gave birth to Trig. He needs to grow a few brain cells on that bs. When is anyone going to do a definitive book on babygate?

Blind Allegiance Twitter page says that Bailey will be on Hardball with Chris Matthews tonight too.

Mudflats missed that on it's list.

Mudflats also missed that Bailey is on the Joy Behar show tonight too. Just checked Behar's web page and it still sets out Bailey as a guest tonight.

So much for an up-to-date media list.

So, can we expect Greta to go after Palin's record now? Specifically, I want to hear someone ask her: "What did you mean in your email to Frank Bailey during the 2008 election that he "pray we win so we can all get out of this place"?

I'd really like to know how Forever from Alaska Sarah spins that one.

Palin Lets Her Religion Show, Confuses Prophecy with Actual History

"Anyone who studies history," Palin told Fox News, "studies the Old Testament, studies geography understands that Israel now is surrounded by enemies at all times. It should be now that America takes a stand in defending our friends in Israel."

What Palin, a prospective Republican presidential candidate, was doing, besides currying favor among the evangelical Christians that believe Israel's security is pivotal in End-Times prophecy and attempting to make President Obama into an individual who is thwarting god's will, was an attempt to place the United States in the role of ally and protector of the state of Israel in the context of her religious beliefs. Although her exact beliefs about religion are unknown, Palin has been associated with the Christian Pentecostal movement, a faction of Christianity that holds with the belief that all things move toward a second coming of the messiah (Jesus Christ) and the fulfillment of god's promise to the nation of Israel that their land will be returned to them (known as "dispensationalism").

She encouraged Americans to "rise up" in support of Israel, obviously pandering to the evangelical Christians, whose beliefs include a strong Israeli nation capable of defending itself in the last battle, Armageddon.

This is good stuff. I'm looking forward to getting my book. (I'm kinda pissed at Amazon, which hasn't shipped it yet). I watched the interview by Martin Bashir; they both handled the questions professionally. The set-up question about babygate over at WaPo was ridiculous. Bailey's answer, added to the strange way the question was worded, still leaves the situation up in the air. Plus, as others have stated, men just don't register details of pregnancy and he was still besotted with her at that time, so there was no motivation to question her. The truth will be found elsewhere.

Did you hear the one about the palin worshipper who couldn't use the library, because she wasn't a libra?

Who sits in Barnes and Noble for two hours, reading someone's entire book without paying for it, then goes on a blog to extoll the virtue of their beloved idol?

I had reservations when I read the introduction, thought it was kind of petty to bring up Joe's book, but I'm glad I got to read more, and seeing him on The Last Word, the View, and Joy Behar made me kind of relate with him more favorably.

I felt that Liz HassleBECK had distanced herself from Sarah, but seeing her today was just pathetic, Joy and Whoopie should jump ship, the others are just buffoons.

Joy went softball on her show. The big take away was Sarah had Lasix and wears glasses to "appear smarter", DUH.

Patti Davis, the sacred spawn of gop blessed Ronald of Hollywood is posing nude again for some rag to show the world how a true conservative's daughter honors her father's legacy. cough cough cough
