Sarah Palin's number one fan is just as vindictive as her "BigBoss." Update!

Somebody forwarded direct messages they received  from Rebecca Mansour to the Daily Caller. Oh THIS ought to be good!

Mansour sent these embarrassing and revealing missives as “direct messages” on Twitter to an online-only acquaintance approximately a year ago. The person who received the messages forwarded them to TheDC.

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things that ooze from the depths of RAM's twisted psyche.

RedState.com founder and CNN contributor Erick Erickson is “a total douchebag,” wrote Palin speechwriter and domestic policy adviser Rebecca Mansour in a May 22, 2010, message. “Greasy dumb ass with a talent for self-promotion. He threw himself in at the Gov’s SC rally. Self-promotion.”

Mitt Romney supporters are “wacky as hell,” Mansour wrote, but usually Romney’s presence online is just an “AstroTurf brigade.”

“Would love to tell Mitt’s lackeys to stop backstabbing my boss anonymously,” Mansour wrote.

Mansour also confirmed that having Joe McGinniss move next door threw the Mama Grizzly into a frenzy, and that the attacks on his character were indeed orchestrated.

When author Joe McGinnis moved next door to Palin, prompting a protest by her, Mansour told her correspondent, a pro-Palin activist, “Time to find a way to go medieval on this McGinniss. Don’t be fooled by the light tone of the [Facebook] post. The BigBoss is so upset by this.”

In response to an unknown suggestion by the recipient of the messages, Mansour wrote “I was thinking more along the lines of mailing him a dead fish.”

Even first daughter Bristol was not spared RAM's venom.

But by far the most incendiary messages are about Palin’s daughter Bristol. Sent in the aftermath of Bristol announcing to Us Weekly she was planning to marry Levi Johnston, Mansour wrote, “I wish they were the Cleavers too. But it’s life.”

“Two words: Patti Davis. Okay three more: Ron Reagan Junior. Two more: Billy Carter. Doesn’t your family have one?” Mansour said.

“She will hold her at arm’s length. Even Thatcher was never able to disown her screw up son Mark. It’s a Mom thing,” Mansour wrote.

Damn!  I guess I kind of knew this about this vicious piece of work, but even I am stunned at her ugliness.

I would be very surprised if this does not have her eating bus tread by the end of the day.  I cannot imagine that Palin will let those statements about her daughter go without punishing RAM severely.

I see an opening for a new Facebook writer and attack lesbian opening over in Palinville.

Update: Here are ALL of the tweets sent to the Daily Caller.

Update 2: Politico weighs in.

In addition to the damaging Tweets, the Daily Caller reported that Mansour initially denied that she had sent the messages to the unnamed source, claiming they had been doctored. “I did actually send him one direct message. He was asking for – it was like something really innocuous – he was just asking for information about something,” she tried to explain. “And I just replied and said, ‘no’ or something like that. And then the kid then used that and started to create direct messages. And that was like a real serious thing for me because I realized anyone can do that with like a screencap.”

If Mansour has been let go by SarahPAC, there is unlikely to be any announcement for some time. Staff changes and reshuffles in Palin’s camp are typically announced quietly only weeks or months after the fact. Or Palin watchers might have to wait for an answer until the PAC’s next FEC report to see if the aide is still being paid.

I had a late night conversation with a fellow Alaskan blogger yesterday, and we both discussed the possibility of RAM walking around with tire marks all over her body today.  However we also had to wonder if Palin really had anybody to take her place if she tossed her aside?

Essentially Palin has ALWAYS surrounded herself with sycophantic followers who are, in some way, also attracted to her.

This is made quite clear in Frank Bailey's book.  He was essentially smitten with Palin, and, by his own admission, would do ANYTHING for her, including things that were completely out of character for him.

In many ways, and for many of the same reasons, RAM is Frank Bailey's replacement, but the question is WHO replaces her?  And are there still people out there who are as drawn to Palin's "charms" as there once were?

She does not simply want loyal paid staff members, she needs to be worshipped.  And she needs those worshippers to swear their allegiance to her, and mean it. That is exactly how RAM finally convinced Sister Sarah to let her into the inner circle.

Update 3: The individual who leaked the RAM tweets revealed!

I've been waiting for this one to break for a few months, as somebody tried to sell me the same emails last fall.

"Does Politico pay for exclusives? Cause I'm looking to sell. I have 122 direct messages from Sarah Palin staffer Rebecca Mansour," the person emailed, eventually sending along sample direct messages identical to a couple the Caller posted. They were forwarded from the account of one improbably named Toki de la Vega, a contributor to some pro-Palin sites, though there was a man's name attached to one of the tweets as well.

I responded with a counter-offer of lunch and "undying gratitude."

"Sorry, Ben, but it's going to take more than a happy meal and a hand shake to get me to betray someone's confidence. Only freshly printed 100 dollar bills help me get over feelings of guilt," wrote the emailer, who continued, "Would it violate some fake journalistic ethics and standards to get me in contact someone who does pay? I know that the thought of blogging about this is making your panties wet. The topics range from Chuck Hagel to Ricky Hollywood and everything else in between. It's a f***ing blogger's gold mine."

Hmm I wonder how many OTHER people have this kind of behind the scenes information about Palin and her disciples? And how much longer will it be before they start looking for THEIR payday?

Update 4: For those people who still believe I chose the above picture of RAM in order to draw attention to her looks, I will post the ONLY other recent picture I have of her.

Personally I thought I chose the least unattractive one of the two, but if you like this one better so be it.

And this is what you get when you hire the people who built the Ark instead of those who built the Titanic. Rubes. People who will reveal intimate details of the inner-workings of your campaign to "online-only acquaintances".

Ms. Palin is in a tough spot. If she fires RAM I'm sure there's another book in the works. If she keeps her, well, she still has RAM to stupidly tweet random strangers all of the Palin secrets.

Didn't you say that yesterday's FB post was clearly not written by Sarah (aka Ram)? She started eating bus tread the day before yesterday, mostly likely. The sad (fun?) part of all this will be that RAM will completely lose it if she is not loved by Sarah. I have been saying for quite some time this relationship has a "Selena" feel to it. I hope not.

Sounds like RAM was groveling with the Daily Caller.

Presented with this evidence, Mansour changed her story from an initial denial to anger (“this is really kind of skeezy”), bargaining (“can I just appeal to you to leave the Bristol stuff alone?”), and sadness at the consequences of her words (“this is going to destroy my reputation simply because people will say, ‘why were you sending a direct [message to a Palin activist]?’”).

That's really sad. It just goes to show how little we can trust anyone in our lives. This is why all public figures use confidentiality agreements. I have no doubt pres obama is patting himself on the back for using them right about now.

    Okay, a few things.

    1. BigBoss? Reminds me of the Big Giant Head of 'Third Rock From the Sun' fame. I adore my boss, but I would never call him BigBoss -- that's just feckin' weird to me.

    2. Is RAM serious? Who on earth was she DMing these things to? Has she been promised a job or movie deal with Fox or something if she makes moves to finish BigBoss off?

    3. If in fact RAM is serious, this woman needs serious professional help. I hate Palin's brand of politics more than anything, but it would be a shame if this unhinged wannabe hatchetwoman went all Yolanda Saldivar on Palin's silly self. The tone of these messages is that of someone deeply, deeply obsessed. I wonder if Palin might be too scared to fire RAM's funny looking ass for fear of the repercussions.

    4. This is the level of professionalism one could expect in a Palin administration -- cabinet officials revealing sensitive info to 'fans' on Twitter and Facebook. Nice.

Or Palin watchers might have to wait for an answer until the PAC’s next FEC report to see if the aide is still being paid."

This may explain Sarah's latest Facebook post. Has RAM been replaced and discarded in an effort to reorganize? Sarah's moving on up and may not be taking everything with her to the new AZ headquarters. For Sarah, loyalty seems to be a one-way street. It may work for the short-term but usually circles around to bite from behind.

What is the timing for the FEC report? It seems like Sarah is postponing filing one. Why does everything she does have to seem manipulative and shady?

OT: Bailey's book is here, and the Foreword is really critical of McGinniss' actions, which somehow feels right to me after reading his new blog for a while.

Please. Enough with the comments about RAM's appearance.

I've seen many comments on this site denigrating Sarah for using her sex appeal to court voters. When you make fun of the way RAM looks, you're buying into SP's premise that only attractive people get ahead. You can't have it both ways.

I'm guessing that RAM got caught up in the excitement and power of being one of the few SP "insiders," and she let it get the best of her. She was showing off a bit to someone and now she'll pay - facing the wrath of SP, getting reviled by 'bots everywhere for commenting on personal family matters, and dealing with the embarrassment for having done something so incredibly stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous6:39 AM

I agree with all the comments about RAMS looks being inappropriate, BUT it is not like she is average/pretty in her appearance and the comments are MADE up/false, which WOULD make it silly and immature. The fact is, and probably not nice to state the obvious in this situation, is it is obvious. I think that sometimes when the obvious is SO clearly evident, we simply cannot help ourselves--kind of like the scene in Austin Powers with the mole. Sure, it is not nice, and for the most part, we here on this blog are above that kind of BS, but it is not like she does anything to help the situation. AND, based on her behavior, it is certainly fair to suggest she looks that way because of her ugly soul. I think that sometimes the obvious just HAS to be spoken, because it is, as in this case, hard to believe what you see.

    Daily Caller says

When originally contacted by TheDC about the messages, Mansour lied and said none of them were from her. Mansour said she had already encountered the messages and accurately recalled the Twitter handle for their source.

"MANSOUR LIED"? I am Shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!!!

Taking a page from the Anchorage Daily Snooze, The Daily Caller gave Mansour an Honesty in Sockpuppetry(tm) award. Actually they did what anyone faced with a Palin releated discrepancy should do. Figure out who's lying.

TheDC then took steps to authenticate whether the messages were real, including logging into a Hotmail account that received email announcements from Twitter with the content of the direct messages in them. Two forensic computer analysts verified that the emails had been sent from Twitter’s servers after searching the message source code for signs of forgery.

At this point Mansour notified Palin to call Dewey Cheatom and Howe(Attornies at grift) to get an APD spokesperson to issue some online indictments. But what she really did was act like any good rethuglican.

Please don't start dissing Joe McGinniss. Frankly putting it in the Bailey book was TACKY!! Get over it already. We all have to stick together and not get off track! We can't start eating our own and giving Sarreee satisfaction. What he did was wrong ok. Maybe he meant it, maybe he didn't. Who cares at this point! Getting onto that dilutes our message. Joes an older gentlemen, newer to the Internet. He's an incredible well known and respected journalist so keep your feelings ( which you have a right to) OFF public boards on the Internet. I find it interesting that people say Gryphen should take down the photo of RAM not because it's a bad photo of her but because she is, to be blunt, a very unattractive woman.

That does not make her a bad person, but the ugliness she displays in her vicious attitude towards others makes me not feel the least bit remorseful about pointing out that she's--in a word--ugly.

Maybe if she were more charitable in her approach to others when she serves as Sarah's mouthpiece, I would feel more charitable toward her.

    But she isn't, and I don't.

Patti Davis later said that she didn't handle things very well and she said that she admired Chelsea Clinton for how she handled what came her way with her father's presidency. I had liked Patti before, and I admired HER even more after saying that. Patti didn't want the attention and ducked in the only way she, at the time, knew how.

RAM bothers me in comparing the Palin kids to the children of heads of state. Palin is a celebrity. I wanted to say, "celebri-politity" but she isn't a politician. She rose, and she splashed around, and stands at the edge of the political pool, occasionally getting wet. "BigBoss" is a celebrity, and her kids, with no sense of responsibility to better themselves, are acting out of a sense of entitlement. Their mother's fame has hurt them.

It is hard to write seriously about RAM's tweets because they are the product of a sad, immature and very unhappy person. It isn't fair to judge her by her looks, but what she has written to a Palin fan reveals so much about her.

In the end, she reminds me of that group of girls who gained power by making fun of everyone else. Their group changed. One day someone was "in," and she led the gossip. When she fell out of the group, she became the topic of gossip. It was a juvenile phase that girls went through in junior high and high school. RAM and Sarah have one thing in common. They have never grown past that point.

Gryphen, if you know someone who is in the field of psychology or counseling, it would be fun to read their analysis of RAM based on her leaked tweets.

You remember Toki, who had a website with some really nasty Photoshops of the Obamas?

    Get this:

"Does Politico pay for exclusives? Cause I'm looking to sell. I have 122 direct messages from Sarah Palin staffer Rebecca Mansour," the person emailed, eventually sending along sample direct messages identical to a couple the Caller posted. They were forwarded from the account of one improbably named Toki de la Vega, a contributor to some pro-Palin sites, though there was a man's name attached to one of the tweets as well.

I think she is ugly but that comment comes from reading her tweets and the other comments attributed to her over the past couple of years. Same for the BigBoss. Nothing attractive about people with mean mouths. I can't attest to why people are attracted to BigBoss. Something about being near the perception of power that can take down the most intelligent people. Low self-esteem? Chance to hang with the beauty pageant loser? Wonder who will be tweeting for the BigBoss. As for SaraPAC I was wondering a couple of days ago why their first quarter financials haven't been revealed. To those of you complaining about the ugly comments about RAM's looks: If it were any other person, I'd say the same thing but over 2 years ago on Palin's Facebook account, I ask a reasonable question about Sarah. RAM attacked viciously. She got personal, vulgar, her language was horrible from the outset. She pulled out all the stops. I didn't back down, just kept asking reasonable questions without getting down into the filth with her. Finally she shut up. Couple of days later, same thing happened and then she blocked me. She's a vile, nasty person. She doesn't hesitate to use anything she can against anyone with no provocation.

That was before she went to work directly for Palin. I didn't even know who she was but I didn't forget the name. Whatever is said about RAM, she deserves it.

    At 7:32:

Actually, I have seen at least one worse photo of RAM. However, I think your comments are somewhat hypocritical in that just by making them you are indicating that RAM is ugly.

It may make you feel better about yourself not to say it directly and to castigate others for saying it directly, but you're acknowledging the same thing by criticizing Gryphen for putting up the photo.

He puts bad photos of Sarah Palin up all the time; where are you then, criticizing him for using a bad photo of her?

We are a society that cares about what people look like, and it permeates our interactions with people and our responses to them.

You can pretend to be holier-than-though and that looks don't matter to you, but I certainly don't believe it.

I don't think it's necessary to harp on just how ugly RAM is or call her names (like she does to others, apparently), but at the same time, I don't think we have to tiptoe around the issue and act like we don't all recognize that she is an ugly woman and that, in her case, it may very well underlie why she is so bitter and so sycophantically attached to Sarah Palin--the "popular" girl who pays attention to RAM.

I do think a lot of it is her personality. For example, I was thinking about the character of Phyllis on the Office. Objectively, she isn't much better looking than RAM. But she obviously has better grooming and a warmer personality, so nobody watches the Office thinking, "Wow, Phyllis is just so ugly!"

Yet you do kind of think about about Meredith, because her character is pretty creepy and disgusting.

I think RAM is the same way. If she seemed decent and caring, her looks would be less of an issue because she'd have redeeming qualities.

RAM has no redeeming qualities to compensate for her ugliness, and that is why it comes to the forefront so often in people's minds.

President Obama clearly does not surround himself with the "quality" of people that Sarah so loves to have around. People are loyal to those who show that loyalty back...it has nothing to do with a signed confidentiality agreement. It's quite simple, you're either loyal, or you're not. Sarah Palin is not a loyal person, therefore people are disloyal to her. And her victimhood will never be justified, because she has done it all to herself.

While deflecting from the Frank Bailey book release. Oh yeah, and throw in some digs about Romney while she's at it.

Gryphen, you have made a serious mistake in using that picture. I have to say, it makes me wonder about you as a person. The poster above who claims to be on the side of right while cutting down a woman for her lack of attractiveness is damaging your efforts. (Are they male, female? What the hell is wrong with them?)

This will probably all come back to bite you in the ass.

Palin and her minions can easily portray you and your commenters as shallow, cruel, immature - and they would be right.

Take down the picture, use the old one. Or don't use any at all.

Gryphen, do the right thing. Get rid of the picture or at the very least moderate the comments that hurl insults about this woman's appearance.

So this "Toki" that contact Politico and Daily Caller. I looked at the site someone posted here. Are these Granny Lou's typical followers? Creepy and strange, obsessed with drugs, Bristol and even Levi - seems a bit disillusioned with Granny and maybe used RAM.

I find it odd that the person who first approached Politico about these tweets sounds very much like a vulgar Palin supporter himself/herself. Anyone catch the ugly insults this person made about journalists and the media? Sounds like a Freeper to me. There's really nothing in there said that Palinbots don't say themselves about Bristol.

The comment of Frank Bailey on The View that Palin in the White House would be devastating - I can't wait to see his appearance on the Joy Behar show tonight as Joy let's it rip far more than she does on The View as Joy has the control -- not Walters.

Also appearing on Joy's show is Patti Davis, so will be interesting if they speak of RAM's emails/tweets being that Patti is mentioned and comparing the Palin's to Reagan, Thatcher, etc.

Walters tried her BS lines supporting Palin that Toad was with Palin when Walters interviewed her and she didn't see any problems between them. Well DUH - like Walters would be smart or quick enough to notice and add the fact that when you do two interviews, you see them for what - a couple of hours. Like she'd 'know' Palin in that short of time.

Walters age shows more and more daily. She's too stupid to realize her 'use by date' has long passed.

Wow, I wonder what Brisket thinks about RAM's attitude towards her. But then again, the whole family might treat her like that. No wonder she looked for "love" elsewhere as a teen.
As for Gryphen placing Becci's photo with an article about her, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. Not everyone is attractive, so do we only want Gryphen to put pretty people up with articles. This is one of the few available photos of RAM, she is smiling and looking happy. If she is homely, so be it, it is a pic of her...not everyone is beautiful in the world.
As for people's remarks about her pic--Gryphen does NOT moderate most of our posts and I think we can all agree that works best for open discussions.
As for RAM's ugliness--personally I see the "ugliness inside" of this very nasty person much more than I notice her outside.

Thanks, Crystal Sage, for the link about Kirstie Alley. She's a remarkable woman.

She's overcome more hate from bloggers than either Sarah Palin or MaxiMe Bristol, and she has a great personality, something neither of them will ever have.

Kirstie was said to have lost 60 pounds even before the first episode of DWTS was aired, and from the looks of her, she's lost at least 30 more pounds.

I hope she's able to continue a good part of the superb conditioning program she was on, in order to compete on DWTS.

We should celebrate this day. Who needs the mainstream media when the truth about Palin is being released directly to the public in the form of books with inside information and thorough research. Palin is rarely mentioned by the talking heads about being a candidate for anything, which is very unusual for a former VP candidate. In fact, she is rarely mentioned in
the press and when she is mentioned it is generally not in a
positive way. Palin is at odds with her daughter who apparently displays the traits one would expect of someone mothered by a narcissist and someone who was used by her mom for political gain. Best of all, Palin has moved to a walled fortress in the desert. So far it appears her neighbors are not impressed either.
This is a day we can enjoy the fact that Sarah is reaping a bit of what she has sowed.

Toki De La Vega was a regular commenter at Conservatives4Palin.com, the pro-Palin blog originated by Rebecca Mansour, and rigorously moderated by her until June 2009 when she was hired by Sarah Palin. Toki de la Vega also started up a blog with another C4Per and June 2009 Palin hire, Joseph Russo. The blog was called "Fist of the North Star", and it featured some very nasty Photoshopping of pictures of people Palin felt opposed her. It's ben taken off the Internet, though, because someone finally advised the two that the site might reflect badly on Palin. No f***' 'in' kidding!
