Oh, I would LOVE to see this match up!
From the Tuscon Sentinal:
Arizona Democrats favor U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as their nominee to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Jon Kyl.
The state's Republicans pick ex-Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney to be their next presidential nominee. Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is their top choice as a Senate candidate, with 35 percent support. 33 percent choose Jeff Flake and 11 percent J.D Hayworth.
Giffords is the choice of 46 percent in a poll released Wednesday by Public Policy Polling. 28 percent of Arizona Democrats favor former Attorney General Terry Goddard, their nominee for governor last year.
Yes, I know this is undoubtedly the most unlikeliest of possibilities, but still can you just imagine how awesome it would be to watch Gabby Giffords crush Palin like a bug against a steaming hot section of Arizona asphalt?
But as we all know Palin does NOT want to have a real job, so running for this Senate seat clearly is of no interest to her.
Besides, how could Palin possibly play the victim while running against the woman who was shot in the head after she put a crosshair symbol over her name? I don't care how many pregnant teenagers, or special needs toddlers Sarah Palin trotted out on stage, she would never convince the Arizona voters that she had nothing to do with the tragedy that took place in Tucson that horrible day.
I actually do think that Gabby has a pretty good shot at winning no matter who the Republicans ran against her in Arizona. And as for her ability to do the job, well it has to be substantially better than anything J.D Hayworth could do even WITH a grievous head wound.

I don't want Congresswoman Gabby Giffords anywhere NEAR the Palins. I do not want her in harm's way again. I don't think Palin will ever be a candidate again, though--no matter what dorky polls are run in AZ newspapers. If Congresswoman Giffords wants to run again, and is able to do so, that's up to her, obviously.
ReplyDeleteSarah don't want no job, all she wants is a title and a big paycheck and her ugly potty mouth on tv.
ReplyDeleteTo run for an AZ seat, one has to be a resident. Sarah doesn't live there fulltime, nor will she ever. AK will always be her primary residence. She doesn't even own a home in AZ. I think she may stay with Bristol when shes there.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to say, "Gabby has a pretty good CHANCE OF winning"...
ReplyDeleteCongresswoman Giffords will make her own decision about continuing in politics - but whether she does will no doubt have a lot to do with the degree of her verbal fluency, which still has a lot of improving to do, as I understand it.
I don't know if Gabby will be ready enough to launch a Senate campaign but if I lived in AZ I would vote for her in a heartbeat.

Sadly, there would still be 20-25% of Arizonans who would vote for Sunspot Snooki (she'll have to ditch the Snowdrift when in AZ, you know) in a matchup against Giffords.
ReplyDeleteGo Gabby, and go to h***, Sarah Palin. And take Trump, Brisdull and all the rest of your carnival act with you, and let the adults run things.
ReplyDeleteSarah would push a blood libel campaign.
ReplyDelete"Vote for Me 'Cause I'm the Victim Here!"
This race has been over for a long time.
ReplyDeleteGabby is the darling of America.
sarah is the darling of flying monkeys.
@7:10 - that's what I was thinking. I've heard several rumors about Palin eyeing several GOP senate seat opportunities, AZ being one of them. So, a person has be a resident of a state for how long before they can run for political office there? I thought it was at least a year.
ReplyDeleteGo Sarah, Go! MOVE PLEASE. Preferably to AZ so my relatives who live in that state and thought she wasn't so bad can deal with her. Please!
Sarah will not run for senate. She is in AZ to get some ¨face¨ time with RAM.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until Congresswoman Giffords is up and about, VISIBLE. The interviews, etc. This is just one of the many nightmares of the Klanswoman from Wasilla.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Sarah is running for something / anything, she (family) can grift and live the high life for several months on someone else's dime. That is what she does best. Doesn't matter if she loses - she got everything paid for and was in the spotlight - only thing that matters to her.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine Palin would run! One sure thing though - if she should - we in Alaska could give the voters in AZ all the the crap and facts we know about Sarah Palin which would help defeat her.
ReplyDeleteShe'd never win - especially against Gabby. Suspect the governor in AZ gave Palin the idea or suggetion to run?
O/T - My opinion of Dunn's book: Great! I couldn't put it down. I hope Dunn writes a followup because Sarah's still out there f__ing about. The book gave me much more insight into her mind and that is a scary place to look. She's sick, she's dangerous, and she'll lie about anything.
ReplyDeleteBesides, how could Palin possibly play the victim while running against the woman who was shot in the head after she put a crosshair symbol over her name?
ReplyDeleteYou know that One-Trick Palin would still try her damnest to make her herself out to be the victim! What else does she have? Her looks are rapidly fading from too much tanning bed and bad plastic surgery, she's not too bright, she can't keep her own talking points straight, and her family is a trainwreck on steroids.
Honestly, she should just become a third rate televangelist and start "wars" with all the other televangelists to get attention.
You overestimate the voters in AZ if you think Palin would not be competitive. She's as dumb as Hayworth, and slightly more attractive (she looks better in heels than J.D.).
ReplyDeleteI can't think that the cowardly Palin would EVER face Ms. Giffords for ANYTHING.
ReplyDeleteSarah may not be much of a Christian, but I bet she does believe in Hell and such an action would guarantee that she see's it.
2. Qualifications of members of legislature
ReplyDeleteSection 2. No person shall be a member of the Legislature unless he shall be a citizen of the United States at the time of his election, nor unless he shall be at least twenty-five years of age, and shall have been a resident of Arizona at least three years and of the county from which he is elected at least one year before his election.

I would leave the country before I would sit by and watch that kind of match up. It goes against every sane cell in my body. For scara to even consider such a thing would be grounds for her labotomy. Yes, Giffords would win hands down, but to watch the process would be horrible. To pit these two women next to each other is just disgusting. AND I am only thinking of Giffords and her family. This idea and who put it out there is just sick. If scara even considered this for a moment, she is beyond vile.
ReplyDeleteI think there is some over optimistically thinking here...Ms. Giffords had a very severe brain injury and can only speak in short simple sentences...it is doubtful she would be able to run.
ReplyDeletePS My partner has had severe brain trauma and he's not the same person and is unable to work at even a basic job.
I really think this posting is inappropriate.
I am a Republican, a conservative and a fundamental Christian and I think Sarah Palin is a fraud and the biggest pimple on the butt of the GOP.
ReplyDeleteSarah doesn't want to run against a woman PERIOD. Especially not a woman who is such a dedicated, accomplished public servant (not too mention ACTUAL victim). And how in the world is Sarah going to trot out her "real man" husband as some kind of unique attribute? Gabby's husband is a freaking' astronaut! Something tells me Gabby never dorkily and publicly referred to her spouse as a "dude."

ReplyDeleteIf it comes to her running, I know what posters and bumper stickers I'm selling. With a picture of C Green also, too.
DNC chair: Giffords will return to Congress :)
