This was broadcast on a morning news program?

Though it seems like it must be a clip from SNL, in fact this rather shocking clip is from from KTLA in Los Angeles, where apparently the censors don't really watch morning news.

Yes I realize that it is not very tasteful, but you have to admit it IS pretty funny.

By the way that reporter Allie MacKay is a VERY good sport.

Sarah Palin prefers the little white ones... am I right Todd?

You're right Gryphen. It is very funny. And the broadcaster showed amazing restraint. I would have been screaming laughing. Bless her.

Anything for a cheap joke, it seems. Was there nothing worth reporting on at that station? Has their world shut down?

Gryphen -- you might get a kick out of this if you like Jimmy Fallon.

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler: Jersey Floor, Baby!

Check out "dj josh" with his shake weight and Rachel Dratch as "drootchie".

  6. Southpark did Shake Weights back in the fall. The best part is when the Shake Weight tells you when you are done ;-)

Palin going after Christy and his family again.

I wish I could attend the hearing tomorrow.

They are trying to grab a few of FOX's "Good Day LA" viewers.

(Used to live in LA; both programs are 5% news, 95% entertainment / irreverent SNARK)

This is not one bit unusual for news in LA. I'm wondering what you find odd. However, I have lived in CA all of my life.

  11. I have a igallop. So yeah, I'd probably get one of these. I have a high 'embarrassment threshold'. Just not going to say what size I would get. :)

"Sarah Palin Has Already Decided the GOP's Fate in 2012"

"Sarah Palin will more than likely go down in the history books as having done substantial damage to her party not in one election, but in two. There is not much glory in being the only woman who had two bites of the political apple and failed both times."

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jerry-kremer/sarah-palin-2012_b_852693.html

Sarah's priorities are selfish. She is not a team player and insists on doing things her way, as noted in this article. She and her followers are not able to see a bigger picture than themselves, at their own expense and the expense of others.

@ 4:55: "Tina Fey & Amy Poehler: Jersey Floor, Baby!"

I believe that could be seen as another Palin spoof, the younger version.

Sorry, but I think it's a little on the childish side. This particular item has been laughed at, tee-heed at, reposted at least a thousand times on youtube. And now an interlude to the serious stuff on IM? 'kay

As a native Californian - shocking? Not so much. =)

Ellen Degeneres has had the Shake Weight on her show several times. They make them for both women & men, and yes, it's pretty obscene looking when you "operate" it.

    That is funny!

Del Mar Dave we sure do have fun in SoCal.

KTLA 5 is my go to news program every morning. I love them. They are fun, informative without a lot of spin like many major and local network news.

Chris has a big black one (he he).

I have never heard of the shake weights, so I guess I have led a sheltered life (eye roll). Then again, I don't watch much TV. There is nothing wrong with a little jocularity in the morning. I agree that the station is not strong on hard news, but I don't find most of them worth watching. I hate the talk and spin the news format that they are all so fond of.

Sorry KatieAnnieOakley, but Fox is worst with Jillian and Dorthy. They are absolutely annoying.

I used to watch Fox 11, until I noticed the spin trickled down from Fixed News Corp.

  24. OT: I posted this on my Facebook Notes tonight:

My opinion: where blame can be assessed, credit is due. Many of those who are claiming that our President Obama is not due credit for finally catching and killing Osama Bin Laden would have been among the first to assess blame to the President for the exact same mission had it gone wrong. You wouldn't dare blame a member of the SEAL team or a helicopter pilot, even if they were grossly negligent. I WOULDN'T EITHER, but you're willing to put the blame on the same man you aren't willing to give credit to now.

The fact is that our President made a call that there should be helicopter-based incursion instead of a surgical bombing strike. The bombing strike wouldn't have yielded us the intelligence that was gained (which I know has yielded at least one more strike more strikes against a high-value target and will yield more, and possibly prevent future terrorist attacks) and would probably not allowed us to verify that we had indeed killed Bin Laden. Further, bombing any site in Pakistan would have been far more complicated diplomacy-wise that swinging in and smoking a guy they (the Pakistanis) should have been looking for and killing themselves in the first place.

I give President Bush credit for putting in place an intelligence apparatus that has made this possible (FTR: water-boarding didn't yield this intelligence, it was gained in 2005 after we stopped). I give President Bush the credit for revising the structure of our intelligence community to work together to make this happen.

Despite the spin that has been applied in the last week I hope we can all agree on the fact that Osama Bin Laden is no longer an issue, no matter who was at the helm when he was taken out.

SEAL Team 6 are the heroes of this mission, no question, but I believe in giving credit where it is due
