Tim Pawlenty's hometown paper runs his Presidential announcement on the obituary page.

I wonder of somebody is trying to send Pawlenty a not so subliminal message?

Democrats are rejoicing today as Katherine Hochul won the NY 26 Congressional seat in a special election on Tuesday, a seat held by Republicans since 1857 !

Dirty politics plus her opponent Jane Corwin promised she would vote to eliminate Medicare, and this seat is now Democrat.

Oops, I meant to say: This district (NY26) has been a conservative strong-hold for over a century – only 3 Democrats have held the seat since 1857!

Just for kicks I clicked on the banner "Should Palin Run, Vote Here" and laughed out loud. The choices you are given are would she be more effective as an elected official or as an "elder statesman". Obviously I don't want her to be in office, but the LOL part was "elder statesman". I frantically searched for the "none of the above" button, but it didn't exist. What nerve they have to even consider her as a "statesman" of any kind.

I guess Ill write this here. I have a question. Bailey said on the view I think that Sarah wou;d dig into people pasts and check out criminial and sex offender registries for any scandal blah blah.

Why is this bad? One should know who one is dealing with. In todays world, with the many pardons thee types get (huckabee and pawlenty) Im glad there are people who do think in these terms. While I dont condone and am not making apologies for any other behavior, why is the above BAD?

Shouldnt we be hopeful for that?

    TPaw's "Truth" DOA

The GOP aren't capable of the "Truth" and they are quick to call others liars (see Joe-Six-Pack congressmen from the Carolinas - Joe Wilson, Trey Gowdy and Patrick McHenry.)

They are turning the House into a Jr. High institution, yelling out "You Lie" to the POTUS during the SOTU and calling government witness Elizabeth Warren a liar in an oversight hearing.)

Next they'll be roving the halls in clique's and shooting spit balls and pulling wedgies of their colleagues.

Truth. TPaw can already go f himself.

  10. Dawned on me last night that the field of "uninteresting" Republican candidates makes the MSM want Palin in the race even more than before.

As long as they want Palin in the race, they will not reveal Babygate. Discouraging.

There is nothing subtle about it. The fact that he announced in Iowa vs. the state where he was governor was a bit insulting. Of course, all the jokes and the rivalry between MN and Iowa only adds fuel to the fire. Minnesota nice will only go so far when you don't dance with the people who brought you.

Ian Murphy, the Buffalo Beast blogger who punked Scott Walker was at it again.

He volunteered for Republican, Jane Corwin, who yesterday lost a "sure" Republican seat to a Democrat in western New York for Christopher Lee's disgraced seat.

    Great stuff!

Being from MN I can tell you there was nothing subtle about where tpaw announcement was printed. The man's name is like a death rattle for politicians here. He's as popular for the right as W and we know he never gets mentioned. He had to announce somewhere other than MN because he would have had cameras, reporters and his extended family AND a shitload of protesters. He'll go down in his own flames soon enough. Just yell 35W bridge and watch him cringe. And let's not forget the 6 billion dollar man, or is that the negative six billion dollar man? That might be a good sequel to the old TV show

I can't speak for Mr Bailey, but my impression is that he was being asked to dig for dirt on political foes, journalists, other public servants, et al--- anyone who challenged her position would receive the Palin treatment. The dirt or rumors forwarded to Palin would then be used to intimidate them into decreasing their oversight of her administration's procedures and performance with the public trust or to destroy the reputation of anyone countering her agenda. He wasn't referring solely to opposition research, to which I believe you were alluding. Neither was he referring to vetting someone before offering them a position in the public trust. In that regard, if ineffective and inept hiring practices were a crime, Palin would be looking through steel bars the rest of her life. Fortunately, that scenario is still a possibility as her vetting continues. If only McCain's team had done this prior to her selection...

Think of the Matanuska Maid Dairy and how she made a challenging situation into a constantly deteriorating situation by using nepotism and favoritism in appointing inept, inexperienced personal friends from high school after firing experienced public servants. The end result is a situation that, once even the known facts of graft and corruption are examined by the FBI and other related oversight bodies, Palin will, if justice is served, be making orange jumpsuits a fashion staple on which to pin her oversize flag pins. She used intimidation of the press in the same way she does she does to this date at present. She only spoke to and recognized those in the media who were not likely to ask the tough questions or press her for follow-up whenever she offered up one of her word salads in lieu of clarity. She has used innuendo of ethnicity/otherness to imply un-democratic goals of her opponent, by starting a whisper campaign regarding her mayoral opponent's name being a Jewish name and therefore, he's different ("you know how those people are...") She slandered our President unmercifully in the campaign, and has been quoted almost daily criticizing and demeaning his family, often for no purpose other than to gain attention for her. The fact that Palin opposes the Prez on each and every decision he makes... well, personally, it makes me feel even more comfortable that he's in the position in charge of his branch of the country, and quite frankly, that Palin is in charge of what she oversees.

Minnesotans HATE pawlenty, the hatred even crosses party lines. He left the state deeply in debt, wrecked the schools, pardoned a child molester so a daycare could be opened in his home (don't believe me --google jeremy geifer) and is responsible for the deaths and injuries of many in the I35 bridge collapse.
He couldn't win his home state.
Oh and one more tidbit --he OUTSOURCED his video production to a foreign company ( A Canadian company-but maybe every video company in the twin cities refused him)
Even with "Minnesota Nice" Timmy boy is the kind that makes you want to drive right on by if you see them broken down on the side of the road when its 40 or 50 below.

He had to announce in Iowa, everyone here in MN knows the truth about him. He even started using a southern accent, I suppose hoping we won't recognize his voice when he tells his tall tales. He isn't very smart.

How apropos. It saves time and space when his campaign suffers its pending imminent demise.

Pawpaw ain't batshit crazy enough for the teabaggers and he ain't sane enough for the general election. He has a snowball's chance in hell of even receiving the GOP nomination.

    Bye bye Pawpaw.

Following your logic to it's next level, this blog and others wouldn't have to do all this digging if John Mc Cain had completely Vetted Sarah Palin and realized shes the biggest fake, fraud, phoney, greedy, dispicabl, ugly, and inexcuseable liar the world has ever seen.

Yeah, digging up dirt on other people IS a good thing- BEFORE they're picked to run for office.

She did it to be petty and vindictive against anyone she percieved as a threat or enemy, not because they were running for office.

Gryphen, I love when things like this happen, expecially to Tim Pawlenty. Just heard he had pardoned a sex offender so the dude's wife could get clearance for a day care center, he later got arrested and convicted of repeatedly raping a child.
If true, his chances for a nomination will be on the same page.
