Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Everybody's favorite Queen of Quitting inspiration for character of bubbly, somewhat psychotic teacher in Cameron Diaz movie.
Courtesy of the Playlist:
Lucy Punch had some interesting things to say about the inspiration for her character, the neurotic and perpetually chipper teacher Ms. Squirrel. “It was pretty much that character on the page but when I read it, just because of the way she talks, because she’s rather twee and perky. The first person I thought was she seems if Sarah Palin had a little cousin who’s an elementary school teacher. I mentioned it to Jake [Kasdan] and he said, ‘You know, I don’t think that was the intention.’ I don’t know if they’re in there but I threw in a few winks and “you betchas”. That’s just who I had in my head, that energy. Not to say that Sarah Palin is deranged or unhinged,” Punch said.
Thomas Lennon then clarified: “That’s almost exactly what you’re saying.” To which Punch shot back: “I’m talking about her perky energy!”
Yeah I have news for Ms. Punch. Sarah Palin IS deranged and unhinged, it only SEEMS like "perky energy" to the uniitiated.
See? How is that NOT deranged and unhinged?
By the way, I happened to see "Bad Teacher" last Friday, and I loved it.
Do you know how you see something that makes you laugh, and you think "I am going to hell for this?" Well this whole movie is like that.
But if you have a truly demented sense of humor, like me, then you will LOVE it!
Here is the trailer.
P.S. This movie has the least sexy fully clothed dry humping scene of all time. Just so you know.

ReplyDeleteApologize for the O/T, but following is a short speech by Chicago's new top cop on government sponsored racism and gun control. Starting at the 8:00' mark, he launches into a tirade about SP. Note the peeps shaking their head when her name is mentioned. Hey, Sarah! Have the guts to bring your movie and/or bus tour to CHI? Thought not.

“The Oft-Defeated”: Dishonesty in Palin Propaganda Film Starts with Title
ReplyDeleteThe movie about herself that Sarah will travel to Iowa to watch on Tuesday–unless she cancels her trip–is called “The Undefeated.”
How could a serious person, even a serious conservative, use that title for a movie about Sarah?
She was defeated, most famously, in her run for vice president in 2008.
Prior to that, she was defeated in her run for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2004.
Those are two defeats in tries for elective office.
But Sarah’s history of defeat is much more extensive.
She was defeated in the Miss Alaska pageant.
She was defeated in four different attempts to graduate from college before she finally managed it at University of Idaho.
She was defeated in her attempt to get a creationist majority elected to the Wasilla School Board in the early 1990′s.
She was defeated in her attempt to have abortion banned at the Mat-Su Valley hospital.
Before her election as Wasilla mayor, she was defeated when she applied for a position as dispatcher with the Palmer, Alaska, police department and was not hired.
After her election as Wasilla mayor, she was defeated in her attempt to appoint Alaska Independence Party and John Birch Society member Steve Stoll to the city council.
As mayor, she was defeated in her attempt to fire Wasilla librarian Mary Ellen Emmons in 1997, a move that nearly led to her recall.
As mayor, she was also defeated in the courts when she tried to build a new sports arena on land the city did not own—a defeat for which Wasilla is still paying.
She was defeated in her first attempt to hold down an appointed job, when she had to bail from her post on the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in 2004, due to her inability to grasp the complexities of the commission’s work.
Mike Miller, the ultra-right wing candidate she supported against Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the 2004 GOP primary for U.S. Senate, was defeated.
As governor of Alaska, she was defeated in her attempt to have her ex-brother in law Mike Wooten fired from the state police.
Also as governor, she was defeated in her attempt to require teenagers to obtain parental consent for abortions.
Also as governor she was defeated in her attempt to have the state pay the expenses involved in her bringing her children with her on political trips, and her image suffered an even greater defeat when it was disclosed that she’d been billing state taxpayers a per diem charge for the more than three hundred days she spent at her Wasilla home while serving as governor.
Her reputation as an ethical reformer suffered another defeat when a state-appointed investigator found that she’d abused the power of her office in her attempt to have Wooten fired.
In 2009, she was defeated in her attempt to install her former personal attorney, Wayne Anthony Ross, as Alaska attorney general.
Subsequent to her resignation, it’s become clear that her strongest initiative as governor–the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA)–has proven a costly failure.
And last summer Sarah was defeated in her attempt to bully me into vacating the premises I’d rented next door to her on Lake Lucille.
Not to mention how many Tea Party candidates she supported last fall were defeated. (Anybody remember Christine O’Donnell? How about Joe Miller, in her own (former) state of Alaska?)
How many defeats is that?
More than enough to make an utter mockery of the title of the hagiographic propaganda film that she hopes–and no doubt prays–will pull her national political career out of its terminal free-fall.

Not saying its true, but just reporting what was reported to me tonight re Todd Palin
ReplyDelete“Yes I had sex with Todd Palin, yes he paid me for those services. But there was so much more to it.
That is why this story has been buried and why MSM will not touch it. No one wants to accuse Todd Palin of criminal activity. Well I am and I am telling all of you who read this he was involved and I hope it will stop.”

4:11, thanks so much for that video!
ReplyDeleteAmazing.
And only a white guy could say that, what courage!
Craig Christy’s FB wall is very interesting. Sexting a minor? reason why she quit? reason why emails missing during that time period? check it. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001670534857&sk=wall

The video of "Bad Teacher" is laugh out loud funny. Thanks for starting my day off with a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteThis is O/T but it reminds me of Sarah. I think it must be the tongue...

The perky energy of a deranged and unhinged quasi-political spokesmodel.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
That's probably one of the best descriptions I've ever heard. . .
Much more palatable than the "Isn't she Pretty? Isn't she Nice?" one that Joe McGinnis wrote about that just about made the hair raise on the back of my neck.
Teachers and dry humping! Yay!
ReplyDeleteO/T: Hey media.... you're missing a good story over at Malia's blog. Between all Bristol's pregnancies/births (including a summer one?) and Todd's prostitution ring, you could be busy for a while. No wonder Sarah plays victim all the time. The people around her keep bringing her down. (Bet she feigns surprise when she gets asked about Todd's business?) But the media just keeps chasing busses like Pavlov's dog and misses the real stories that are practically written for them. In the big scheme of things, it doesn't matter 'cause Sarah's working to keep President Obama in the White House and the stories about Todd, Sarah, and Bristol are getting out enough that people won't take them seriously ever again.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon 4:11. I just watched that video, and it made me feel that there is still hope for our country when men like him are in the fight against illegal weapons. More people need to take a stand on the really important things.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have never seen anything like this. Just never.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been likened to a soap opera, but the silly seriousness and unavoidable pretension of the “cause” bring “Courage” to a new level of smarmy drama. If you cry at toilet paper commercials and think that the Koch Brothers are heroes for convincing you that Ayn Rand is Jesus, you might love this.

Republican Indiscriminate Spawning
ReplyDelete...The extremist fundamentalists and Mormons that make up the GOP field see a large family first in terms of their religion, then as a political statement. These people are expressing literally trying to over populate and outnumber those who disagree with them. Since the official Republican position on climate change is to deny that it is occurring, the environment is not a concern to them.
Now that the Republican Party has been hijacked by religious extremists, family size is important because it demonstrates the candidate’s commitment to God. The contest to outdo each other on family size at the last Republican presidential debate was all about appealing to fundamentalist GOP primary voters.
What started out as a riff on Bristol Palin’s new book, soon found its way into a serious subject. Bill Maher had it partially right when he talked about the presidential candidate family size as it relates to symbolism of commitment to the Bible and the anti-choice position on abortion, but there is a deeper motive to the desire of many who support the Republican cause to have large families.
Extremists are out to overrun “the enemy” through overpopulation. The breeders are breeding their own little political army, which they will use to fulfill their dream of America as a nation governed by the Bible.

ReplyDeleteI am not too sure the extremists will really be able to overrun society. I have met quite a few ex-fundamentalists who are now atheists. So I think that about half of their kids will realize they are crazy.
