Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Jon Stewart picks apart SarahPAC's verson of Palin's bus tour. "She's not running for President, she's running for Rushmore!"
"We know what our foundation is all about"? Could she be any more vague??
I am sure her screw-up of Paul Revere's ride will be far more watched and commented on than this propaganda, but I have to say I am amazed everyday at how easily the bullshit flows from her lips.
Oh so this trip was "one of the best weeks of her life"??
Here is your chance to satirically speak truth to power by telling Sarah Palin what's missing from her movie.
There’s nothing funny about Palin or her influence on our democracy, but together we can use satire to make an impact and undermine her aura of authenticity and altruism. Satire is an effective tool to take the conservative opposition's perceived strengths and use it against them, which is what we’re doing here with Palin’s movie.
We can’t stop the presses from covering her every move, but we can help focus, undercut and change the Palin narrative.
So don’t retreat, reload! As a Brave New Films activist, you know quality films and you know what's true in our democracy and society. We know there are plenty of things missing from Palin's film, so tell Sarah! She’s even giving away a collectible bobblehead doll to the person who submits the best thing that was left out of her film.
In the past few days a number of hugely misleading reports have circulated in both Britain and the United States alleging that Margaret Thatcher snubbed Sarah Palin. It all began with a blog post in The Guardian claiming the former prime minister had refused to meet with Mrs. Palin on her upcoming visit to London, on the grounds that she was “unworthy of an audience”, and quoting an anonymous “ally” of Lady Thatcher.
According to The Guardian, in a piece entitled ‘Margaret Thatcher to Sarah Palin: don’t bother dropping by’:
Her (Lady Thatcher’s) allies believe that Palin is a frivolous figure who is unworthy of an audience with the Iron Lady. This is what one ally tells me:
“Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.”
This was followed up by another Guardian piece: ‘Sarah Palin snub by Margaret Thatcher aides infuriates US rightwing’, which declared:
The ally who criticised Palin said the Thatcher circle would not change their minds despite the backlash.
“Margaret will not be meeting Sarah Palin. If necessary we will make sure that Margaret has an off day when Palin is in London.”
I have spoken to Lady Thatcher’s Private Office regarding the story, and they confirm that the attack on Sarah Palin definitely did not come from her office, and in no way reflects her views. As a former aide to Margaret Thatcher myself, I can attest that this kind of thinking is entirely alien to her, and that such remarks would never be made by her office. She has always warmly welcomed like-minded figures in the United States, and has in the past met with numerous US presidential candidates and political dignitaries when they have visited London. But at the age of 85 she is now able to receive very few visitors at all.
There was never any snub of Sarah Palin by Lady Thatcher’s office. However, there has been a great deal of mischief-making and unpleasantness from sections of the liberal press in a vain and futile attempt to use Margaret Thatcher’s name to smear a major US politician.
I watched it and thought it might be humorous if Stewart tried the Wild ride timeline with medical professionals. They would soon put an end to this mischief she's up to
@ 7:51, any one of us could have put together your post, claiming to be an insider with special knowledge of the situation.
We need more than what you have just written here, sorry about that.
Go ahead and provide proof of your access and credibility.
It's not that I can't believe what you are saying, it's quite plausible. But, in the absence of a direct disclaimer from Ms. Thatcher's representatives, it seems rather odd. Or was a statement already released?
Yep, he does come out like he's gotten his talking points, sometimes, just like the rest of them.
McGinniss declared the emails would be a "dry hole".
Has the most juicy stuff been redacted and withheld? Sure. But give people a chance to sift through the crumbs before declaring that there's "nuthin' to see"…
Jon Stewart has obviously decided any inquiry into Palin's past life and record is tin hat territory. I would suspect he dismissed these efforts long ago, himself, so he almost fears substantive discoveries - once they have had a chance to examine 24,000 pages of emails! He is the one who, along with the rest of the MSM, will look negligent, should anything come out. I think he has a vested interest in minimizing the whole thing.
While I can see the humor in the media frenzy - which they do pretty much indiscriminately, regardless of the particular event - I am not real sure why he felt the need to mock everyone so intensely.
It's intriguing.
He wants to make fun of her, but that's about it. He needs her just as much as CNN does, perhaps ;-).
Jon Stewart is a humorist, not an investigative reporter. His staff probably mined the e-mails looking for material they could use to mock Sarah Palin and found that there wasn't much to go on - especially when Palin gives them all the comedy material they need - in real time. She truly is the gift that keeps on giving to comedians. I look forward to his show every night, knowing he will point out the foolishness of politicians, talk show hosts and news pundits. He's the Mark Twain or Will Rogers of our time.

ROFLMFAO !!
Major US politician ?!?!?!?!?!
sarah palin ?!?!?!?!?!?
Methinks sarah herself wrote this post - Hi LouSarah !
I remember someone made a comment a couple years ago that they worked in a pharmacy where Sarah got her prescriptions filled and they revealed she uses a herpes medication. Wasn't it Valtrex? There were pictures during her first book tour with a cold sore on her lip. If so, Jon Stewart should be told about it.
Got it, Sharon, but we all know that Jon Stewart is in truth a political commentator just as the many other pundits on TV. He is a brilliant man, imo. Humorist, yes, but serious nonetheless. He gets to have it both ways and I am generally ok with that.
Apparently he also chided people for pouring over the email dump, saying it was pointless or foolish or something like that.
ReplyDeleteNot real impressed with him sometimes.
I was thinking the other day that Granny probably sees herself on Mt. Rushmore.
ReplyDelete"Premature exoneration".....that about sums up Stewart's brush-off of the e-mails.
ReplyDeleteGenital herpes vs the Tundra Turd? Yes, yes! I can see it! They're both social diseases.
